I was never big on making sure I drank enough water, and now what comes out of the sink isn't safe and all of those bottled drinks I enjoyed so much are like the Holy Grail. When potato chips are the best food around, it's depressing. I worry more for one of my friends than I do for myself, because I can get by on the meager rations we're afforded but I'm afraid that he and others will suffer from not getting enough to eat. I hate the idea that starving is just as real a possibility as being killed in an attack.
I've been learning things, I suppose. How to defend myself and how to repair things... Crudely. The talents that I thought I had before everything went to Hell barely matter now. We don't have the tools for much basic medical care, let alone anything to deal with severe trauma. If someone in my group was badly hurt, even if I had the drive to help them I wouldn't have the materials.
Am I going to have to watch someone die? Am I going to die? Will I be able to do anything for anyone in the end? Is there anyone left out there that I know? Are they looking for us? Are they safe?
What have I been doing since Day Zero? I've been worrying about every day that will come after.
