"Alright. James, if we can get the phone charged safely, you'll make the call." She nodded to them, indicating that they should be ready to do whatever was necessary, should they get that far. Her gaze then shifted to those who volunteered, those who left, and those who tried to talk to people enough to change their answers.
Her gaze did fall on Kelly, though. She listened to the girl, and then moved forward to pat her reassuringly on the shoulder.
"Thank you for the update. We'll be alright. Just need to avoid the thorns, right? How hard can that be? We'll be alright." She repeated herself. "You did great, thanks." The information was repeated for the group - avoid the thorns - along with a reminder to not be stupid, and then continued.
"OKAY. Here's the plan: Caroline, go see if you can charge a phone. James, and anyone who volunteered as guard, please stay here just in case. Everyone else is dismissed, unless you'd like to hang around and see what happens."

He only smiled when James was elected. Harvard was sure the man would do an enthusiastic job, which is more than could be said for himself. Instead, he moved a little closer to Caroline. Might as well switch stratagems.
"Keeping things charged can be kind of tedious." Maybe they could think of something to combat the tedium, after all. His fingertips brushed against the pulse-point of her wrist. "I find myself at your service, Caroline."

Cecil beamed a smile that nearly reached ear to ear before a laugh escaped him as well. It was rare to find someone that enjoyed his humor and that laughter was infectious. "No no, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I get mostly glares or groans which is still really amusing but I still like when people laugh."
He nodded to Rorrow's second question, turning to look at Corey. "I did. I brought her the information. Seems like its only right that I make sure everything goes okay. We gotta look out for each other, yeah?"

Despite rarely sleeping, and not drinking nearly as much coffee as she had done in her former student days Harper was still rather energetic. It wasn’t nearly the same in her student days, she was use to running around constantly, working, art projects, the occasional freelance and now it was more or less keeping out of death’s way. She was far more sluggish, or at least felt that way but she chalked it up to lack of caffeine.
“Errr.. I am not entirely sure to tell you the truth. When I woke up they told me I had severe blood loss and that I would experience dizziness and some lack of motor skills.” She waved her hand in a dismissive manner as if it wasn’t much of a big deal. “I am sure it will be ok, but you’re right. A wash would be great I feel sort of sticky.”

Hitsu returned to the gathering of the others who had volunteered, if a bit later than she might have liked. She didn't look very happy, and the redness of her eyes was quite obviously from crying and not the more common lack of sleep.
She didn't say anything to anyone assembled. She just remained close by so that she could listen for any specific instructions, and be ready to head out when the time came to do so.

There is something wrong with this area. In the center of it lies a humongous, pulsating thing. It isn't quite alive, shifting around, though tendrils seem to grow from it, almost rapidly, as if it is trying to become something else.

Waking up again, Liam hadn't known where he was or how he'd gotten there, which was a state he was growing woefully accustomed to at this point. It was frightening, and he longed for the rest of his faction, for the university itself and the dorms. He needed to get back, maybe...maybe some of the other had found their way there as well. If not, maybe they would. It was a central location, a place they all knew, that they'd all head for if they were able. And if he happened upon anyone on the way back, then all the better.
There weren't any familiar faces on the way home, but he had, in his scavenging, found himself something valuable. A double barrel, in decent condition, and a box of shells. It was slung over the opposite shoulder as his bag, box of ammo tucked carefully away, though he did fill his pockets, just in case.
When he got back to the school it was eerily quite, and as he entered the dorms themselves his heart sank. Empty. Or at least empty those he'd hoped to find there.
Had it really only been a week since they'd headed out to investigate the barracks? Less than? It felt like so much longer. He sighed, fingertips running along the wall as he headed for his room. For once unhappy about the fact that Harvard wouldn't be there.

Whether or not it was a dream, Dani didn't know. Everything she had known... was a lie? Regardless, she wouldn't give up, and would press on. Giving up now would mean everything she had done, everything she had experienced, was for naught. And Dani had no intention of letting it go to waste.
And so, when she returned to base after who knows how long, she was a little unsettled to see some large pulsating thing threatening to take over the dorms. Even though she had barely been around long enough for her to call it a home, it was a home to her nonetheless. She attacked it with one of the items she had managed to pick up during scavenging. It was hard to tell how effective it was whacking the thing with an umbrella would be, but it was better than nothing.
