Hitsu had been sleeping. Or, at least, making the attempt. Her hearing had thankfully returned to her, but perhaps that wasn't as lucky a thing on this particular night.
The first burst of sound woke her, making her jolt straight up in bed. Wide-eyed and feeling as though her heart was in her throat, it took several seconds for her to realize that nothing was actually in her dorm room but that the noise was coming from outside. Practically tumbling out of bed, she wasted no time in gathering what supplies she had to go investigate. She heard others moving about too; she wasn't the only one with the idea.
She didn't at all expect what she saw when she actually got outside to look at what all of the noise and light was about. It was terrifying, impressive and confusing all at once. Why would anyone want to bring such attention to themselves?! So much noise and bright light was surely going to draw out every undying for miles!
It seemed so deafeningly quiet once it was all over.
Heart still pounding wildly, Hitsu waited and even held her breath. There wasn't any sight or sound of what she had imagined would be inevitable. No infected. No undying?
The source wasn't difficult to find, being as bright as daylight. It was further than she had tried to travel from their base before, and she was nervous. But others, several familiar, were going inside. She heard broken speech between sounds of music and excitement from the radio at her hip. It was strange. All of it was strange.
But it had to be much safer than being outside in the open... Right?

She wrinkled her nose as soon as her senses were met with the smell of smoke and liquor, but it was admittedly better than the stench of rot she'd been forced to experience time and again in the last month. Still, it made her eyes water and she was physically uncomfortable to match the vibes of wrong that nagged at her. Aside from her being baffled that this place even existed.
Hitsu was slow in putting one foot in front of the other, but she continued deeper into the casino and just stared in disbelief at the people she passed by. Playing games like the world wasn't any different from a month ago. If she didn't figure it absurd, she'd guess that these people must have never left.
She jolted when someone stepped up close to her, looking up to see the attendant and offered drink. Hitsu took the beverage wordlessly, and the coins, before continuing to stare dumbly around her. What the hell was going on?
Hitsu had no desire to gamble with the coins she'd been given, so she didn't. First mistake. She just wanted to find out if others from her faction were here. She needed to ask if any of them knew what was going on. It actually sickened her to think of how much electricity was being wasted in this place.
She did, however, take an experimental sip of the drink she'd been given. Second mistake.

She'd only been there a few minutes. Half an hour? It was hard to remember. It was all noise and lights and heat. She felt dizzy... Was it the drink? The glass lay somewhere, set aside only half consumed. Still, it had been enough if it had been drugged.
There was no time to really question it or seek out help before she collapsed.
More loud noise, but this was different. The background noise was gone and this was just a voice. Everything came around slowly, and panic rose in Hitsu with the return of her proper senses. Struggling did nothing, and she had no idea who else was there. She couldn't move. Talking wasn't even something she thought she could have done even if she wanted to, for how tight her throat felt like it was. Her eyes burned from the lights, tears, both. She couldn't wrap her head around what was happening. What sort of sick games were these people getting off on?!
Dragged along into the next room, as if the weight of the entire situation wasn't terrifying enough they were asking her to make a choice of who she thought deserved to be saved. Did that mean that the other person wasn't going to be freed at all? Hitsu's gaze darted between the both of them for the span of several seconds, whimpering and unsure. She didn't want to doom anyone...
"H-him," she spoke up weakly, at last. "Him," she repeated again, barely more confidently than before.
Guilt tore at her when they dragged the woman away, but she'd had to choose just one hadn't she? She worried over what was awaiting her in that room she couldn't see into, but she dared not ask.
Chaos was happening in the room Hitsu was still in, as it turned out, and rather than offering any form of cooperation the boy she'd hoped to help made the decision to run. Only to pay for it with his life.
The monsters outside of the casino suddenly seemed a lot less frightening in comparison to these people. At least they had been able to run from them.

Hitsu felt like she could have just collapsed when she was finally 'released' back into the casino. She wanted to find Cecil, but in the same breath she didn't want him to be here. She wanted to warn those who seemed to not have a clue, but what good would it do? It was too late for them to turn back now.
