ENTRY LOG: DAY ZERO

Character Name: Leiah Sanderson [Please Keep her with Pao's Andrew Hale<3]

Minis account name: Viva Viola

Age: 25

Gender: Female

Employment: University Student 8D

Faction: Mall fraction please~

Character description:

Leiah stands at 5’8 and 130lbs with lightly tanned skin. She’s got brown hair that’s just a bit past her shoulders and blue green eyes that are constantly making her look like she’s up to something. She considers herself fit and trim but a bit on the small side, which makes fitting into clothes hard but easy at the same time.

gaia_crown Goofy: Leiah doesn’t have a serious bone in her body. She tries, but she usually gives up and just goes back to what she does best. She loves to crack jokes in any situation just to make the atmosphere a little less…Emo.

gaia_crown Witty: Just as she’s quick to crack jokes, she’s also quick with a response period, whether it’s funny or sarcastic; Leiah is quicker with her tongue than she is on her feet most of the time.

gaia_nitemareright Talkative: Ever wanted peace and quiet? Leiah doesn’t know the meaning and has never bothered. She could talk for hours on end, from yelling to whispering, Leiah’s mouth is constantly open. Even more so when she’s nervous.

gaia_nitemareright Impulsive: Leiah is used to doing things when the mood strikes, never thinking about the consequences of her actions. Not even once. If she wants to go shopping, she will. If she wants to bash that zombies head in on Call of duty without using a ranged weapon, she will with no hesitation.

Do I own any characters in the shop? Yes!

DAY ZERO ENTRY PROMPT:

“Damn it Drew I knew I should’ve reminded you to charge your phone!” Leiah sighed and decided to try calling the store her knuckle headed boyfriend worked at. When no one answered, she grumbled and went into the mall, intending on finding the store he worked in only to get distracted by the nearby H&M around the corner. She came out not even a half hour later with two bags full of clothes and the head hang of shame at her not so hidden shopping addiction; even if everything she bought was on sale. Oh well, time to stop getting distracted! She was supposed to meet Drew for lunch ten minutes ago! Instead of looking for Drew’s place of employment, Leiah went to do more shopping.

Shopping that lasted until closing time which was around close to 10pm.

After all the shopping and running back and forth from her car to the mall again, Leiah was tired and she wanted some Starbucks. Since she thought Drew’s phone was dead, she wandered around for a bit, finally finding the Starbucks. She was about to order her caramel frappe when the power shut off and the mall went dark. “Ooooookay, looks like I wasn’t meant to order anything…” She grumbled, looking around at all the angry customers that were denied their late night fix. Some customers were a little too angry since she saw someone beating the daylights out of some one, probably and employee across the level at Zumies.

Wait…Was that…

No…

Leiah frowned, hearing the strange whispers of infection and “virus” along with mentions of death and chaos. She thought all that BS was just that, BS. Until she looked closer at the person that had just wait was that person biting the other?

Oh hell no!

Leiah didn’t even wait for the chaos and panic to start, she got down on her hands and knees, maneuvering her way through the crowd before running for the nearest store, ducking in and hiding behind the counter. She didn’t even have the time to acknowledge the fact that she unknowingly ran into the exact store she’s been looking for.

ENTRY LOG: DAY ZERO

Character Name: Hitsuzen Vang

Minis account name: Hitsuzen

Age: 23

Gender: Female

Employment: N/A; Student

Faction: District 1 University (Please keep with Cecil.)

Character Description: Visual reference here.

Hitsu stands 5'4" tall with bright teal eyes and short, brown hair. She's attending University in hopes of going into the medical field. Nursing is her prime focus at the moment, but she is still contemplating reaching further to a more professional and specified career. She is open minded and friendly, and most of the time she's ready and willing to strike up a conversation or casual chat. Regardless of this, don't expect to see her partying on school nights or even on the weekends for that matter. Free time is spent either studying, or making the short trip back home to spend time with family. Family is most important to her, and even being roughly two hours from home has her fretting over them, but with a rather strict Asian mother she knows better than to voice that her mind is anywhere but in her schoolwork. She's only just begun her college courses, and will proudly say that she's learning quickly and remembering what she reads. She practically writes lectures out word for word, for God's sake.

Virtues
  • Compassion - She's not a person who can stand suffering of any sort. If someone is in need, she will offer any assistance she can. If one of her friends (or even a complete stranger) is upset, she will offer a comforting hug and listen to their troubles.
  • Trustworthiness - You can confide in her without worry that she's going to turn around and tell someone else about it. She'd want someone to offer her the same courtesy after all, and she firmly believes in treating people as she would want to be treated. Gossip is a waste of time, anyway. Keeping secrets does not apply if bodily harm is involved or intended.

Vices
  • Doubt - She's confident for the most part. If you question her, she's not so sure. Did she complete her task efficiently? Could she have done something different? Even if what she did was correct, she might still dwell on it after the fact.
  • Fearfulness - Sometimes, this goes hand in hand with doubt. She fears failure more than anything, except perhaps spiders. She worries about the judgement of others toward her work and personal life, even though she's smart enough to know that such things don't usually matter.

Do I own any characters in the shop? Yes

DAY ZERO ENTRY PROMPT:

She'd been reading when the bedside lamp went out. It didn't dim into darkness or flicker out. It was just, suddenly, dark. Setting the book aside - a book she'd been reading for enjoyment rather than studying for once - after blindly groping for the slip of paper she used to mark the page. It was eerie, how silent everything was. For a moment, anyway, before she heard a few students in the hall complaining about the power outage, video games or unsaved assignments lost because of it. Hitsu didn't care much; she should be sleeping shortly for her morning class anyway.

So, she decided to lie down and try to do just that, figuring that by morning the lights would be back on and everyone could go back to their technology as normal.

The grogginess she felt told her that she'd been in a deep sleep, though just what time it was she didn't know. Her cell phone was across the room on her computer desk, alarm set to go off at six. It took a moment to realize that the sounds that had woke her were shouts from out in the hall. They weren't the angry shouts from before; they were more desperate and frantic. Enough so to have her heart in her throat. She got out of bed and retrieved her phone in moments, fiddling with the thing to turn on the flashlight as she opened the door.

She expected to see someone goofing off. Taking advantage of the darkness to sneak around and pull pranks.

The bright light illuminated a face. Or what had once been a face. Blood seeped from the mouth of the once-person, the sight and smell of rot making Hitsu's breath catch in her throat before she was screaming. Paranoid video footage and articles leaped immediately to mind, and she believed that this was the result of the virus everyone had been worried about. It had killed people. Why wasn't this person dead? How could someone live when they were in such a state?

The instant she'd opened the door she was struggling to shut it again, backing into her dorm with haste and fighting between one of them that tried to follow her in. Thankfully, in the end she got the door latched and bolted. Her phone was still in the hall, she realized, likely dropped in shock. There was no way in hell she was opening the door to go after it.

ENTRY LOG: DAY ZERO

Character Name: Juliette Carver

Minis account name: chirigami

Age: 60

Gender: Female

Employment: Retired bank teller; she now takes care of her 8 cats and embroiders, cross stitches and crochets.

Faction: Apartments (3)

Character description: Juliette stands a good 5'8, she's lean and healthy and nimble - even for someone who barely leaves her home and gotten used to lots of sitting. Her beautiful black hair has been taken over by shades of greys and white which she has chosen not to cover up. She tends to dress in loose flowy blouses and simple pants. Her apartment is covered in hand made pillows and doilies.

- A little bit batty (reason for early retirement, her mind was starting to go as her family has a history of Alzheimers)
- Even still, can be as sharp as a tack as she used to and very observant
- reclusive now in her older age, primarily just talks to her cats.
- Usually very kind, generous and can be pretty patient
- Unless you step the line, in which she turns politely aggressive

Do I own any characters in the shop? yup!

DAY ZERO ENTRY PROMPT:

The chaos down below, building upon the streets and outside her apartment went unnoticed at first. It was simply the hum of her television winking out along with her Ottlite plunging her into darkness that caught her attention. "Oh dear, Mr Pickle Wickle, do you think the breaker went out?" The cat perched on the arm of her chair said nothing, just blinked at her while its eyes glowed in the pitch black.

Four more eyes joined in, turning towards their owner as she pushed herself out of her seat, pulling the thin blanket around her shoulders. The few remaining felines found themselves huddling to the few sparsely placed nightlights that still softly glowed (the last source of electrical light these cats would see. If only they knew...) Juliette picked up her phone as she shuffled towards the window, "oh goodness, its outside as well." Dark, no lights. The phone was also dead, she realized. How would she call the landlord about this? Or even her sister?

Leaving the apartment to investigate didn't seem the likely option for her, it rarely did. She simply stood by the window, pressing her cheek every so often upon it in hopes of getting a better view. Perhaps to see if she could see something happening outside. Like a repair van coming along, or someone outside shouting some news about their grid going out.

It wasn't what she got. Standing there, looking out allowed her to watch the stumbling forms coming into view. She could hear the muffled screams echoing from the streets as they were attacked by the unknown. People outside didn't look good. She had heard on the news of some awful virus, but that being in correlation to what she was watching didn't cross her mind just yet. "Oh goodness!" She should have looked away but she couldn't. From high above she watched as people panicked all around, running into buildings as fast as they could before they were lunged at and attacked by rapid others.

One of her cats hissed. "No, Farnsworth, I do not think I will go outside right now."

ENTRY LOG: DAY ZERO

Character Name: Karou Nila

Minis account name: ChibiKokoro143

Age: 23

Gender: Female

Employment: Video Game Store/Game Stop/EB Games

Faction: Mall

Character description:

+ Intellegent: Cunning, crafty, and resourceful, she can think stuff up on the fly

+ Loyal: She is loyal to those who watch her back and know her way of thinking.

- Stubborn: If you aren't on the same wavelength as her, you could be butting heads. She will not listen to you and will not be watching out for you in turn

- Quiet: Not one to talk much, people don't know what she's thinking and she can seem as a threat. Makes it easier to see her as untrustworthy

Karou has been working at the Game Stop/EB Games as soon as she dropped out of high school....and not because she wanted to. She had the smarts but with a sick mom, and a dead beat dad who left them when she was young, she wanted to take care of her mom first and foremost. She takes on a heavy burden all by herself, and she found the relief of all that burden by playing video games. She began working at a video game store just to save up money and get discounts on games...even began writing and some art to express her creativity.

You can spot her as a 5'4" women at 120lb. Dyed Blue hair always wearing a black knitted beanie with a dead pool pin, a N7 Mass Effect hoodie over a black tank top or tee-shirt, dark jeans, and black combat boots. She looks hispanic and any markings and piercings, she wears the same star earring she got from her mother on her 16th birthday (when her mom saved up enough money to buy her real gold earrings) and; a crow, wolf and a moon on her shoulder, her mom's favorite butterfly, a monarch, on the other shoulder, and some mermaid scales going down her both legs (which are unfinished because of the infected thing that is gonna happen)

Do I own any characters in the shop? Yes

DAY ZERO ENTRY PROMPT: Karou ran though the streets, tears beginning to dry on her face.

She can't think about it, not right now, not where she was running through an open street, vulnerable to the Infected outside.

She can't think of the friends, online and in real life, if she will ever see them again to play Call of Duty again. She won't think of the first infected kill she had, where she tricked it into falling over a chair and killing it on the threshold floor. She won't think of her mama,...her sickly wonderful mama, telling her to leave her behind because her legs won't carry her far and that she requested her wonderful daughter to run and protect herself.

So she didn't. Instead she ran to the closest thing she knew it was empty, she knew it was safe. Heading towards the back entrance of the mall, she took off her backpack, looking for her lanyard with the mall access key.

As she got inside, she headed towards the security room which the men there looked at her in with horror at the blood that covered her.

It is there, where she ignored them, and sat on the floor...her silent tears fell as she thought last hour of normalcy she had before the Infected ruin everything.

Character Name: Cory Gimenez

Minis account name: Syusaki

Age: 17

Gender: Male

Employment: Subway

Faction: 2 Prison ( please keep with thyPOPE's Monica Chavez and Amorpheous' Greta Dean )

Character description: A short, excitable (perhaps too excitable) lad that can't seem to keep still for very long. He always has to be doing something, whether it be productive or distracting. Cory knows how to pick up on small details, but always had a hard time focusing on something for very long, which led to him dropping out of school before graduating. But he doesn't let that bother him! He still remains cheerful and despite never graduating, is still smart in his own right.

Do I own any characters in the shop? Y

DAY ZERO ENTRY PROMPT: He tried to keep his body still while he sat in the chair and waited for his sister’s face to appear through the window, but staying still was never Cory’s forte. One foot continued to quickly bounce, and his hands kept trying to move places, so eventually the boy had settled with folding his fingers together. Unfortunately, that didn’t stop him from constantly looking up, down, and all around the visitors’ area. He would have visited earlier, but today was a closing shift, and the fact he could actually still make visiting hours came as a surprise to him, but as he continued to wait the lights flickered a few times before shutting off altogether.

“Are visiting hours over?” he wondered aloud at first, but then his mind began to jump around. No, the lights would still be on. Maybe the bulbs went out? No, not all of them. How many bulbs were in this room, anyways? One. Two. Voices. Wait. Something isn’t right.

His chair squeaked against the floor as he stood up and stumbled through the darkness. “Anyone?” But no real answer, just more whispers about infection and illness and rising. They are mere blimps on his radar at first as he managed to walk into an empty hallway.

Someone shined a light in his face and he squinted, a hand reaching up to shield his eyes before he heard screams. Screams led to wandering flashlights and more yells and splatters of red and shambling bodies that sent him running in the opposite direction.

And as the shouting died to a murmur, Cory managed to lock himself in an empty stall in a mens’ bathroom. How long he’d managed to stay in that one stall he didn’t know, but it must’ve been a new personal best.

Character Name: Jane Doe Pic idea

Minis account name: phantompanther13

Age: 20

Gender: female

Employment: College student- at that stage where she doesn't have a major, she just is doing the thing trying to figure herself out.

Faction: University? Apartments? one of those two

Character description:
Scared lost
prepared smart

Jane doesn't know what she is doing. She is kind of a scaredy cat. And by that I mean she has a giant dog named killer, (who is actually a really sweet) and she carries around mace in her purse.

She is a bit lost in her life, not sure where she is going or what she is doing. She is going to college but doesn't know what her degree will be yet. She is smart, she just doesn't really recognize it. Her parents nudged her to go to school to get her Mrs. degree. But she got in, she has the makings to do some great stuff, if she could figure out what she actually wanted to do.

Dresses nice. She does wear heels and dresses nice for class or where ever she goes.

She tends to blend in an sit in the middle of the class. She doesn't really stand out in a crowd. Just perfectly middle line and normal. If you looked up normal, you would see her name by it.

Do I own any characters in the shop? Y

DAY ZERO ENTRY PROMPT:

Normally she walked a lot. Normally it was in the morning. Bernese mounain dogs needed exercise and she got plenty with hers. But it was late and Killer was restless. She was upset over something and Jane tried to take her out to calm her. Suddenly the lights dropped but she had her flashlight already out for the walk. Then she heard shouts and her dog started barking. People were shouting an she tried to quiet Killer putting a hand on her shoulder.

Someone passed by givign her and her dog a good birth but they were saying somethign about the infected. That left her confused. were they talking about someone who was sick? Was someone ill? Was it rabies? she was torn between maybe helping the person and her not wanting to get sick at all. she had a test that was due soon.

Suddenly she say someone in her flash light covered in blood and beating someone else. Killer was barking louder than before. Jane had not time to think her feet turned her and she was running. What was this? She had seen horror movies start out like this. There was a scent of decay in the air, no wonder her Killer was acting so odd.

People were around her, panicking. Most gave her dog a bit of berth, and someone shoved her from behind making her loose her footing. She fell, got back up. trying to keep traction with her low heels. This was meant to be a short bed time walk not a run for her life. She found a door and pushed her way in pulling her dog along with her.

ENTRY LOG: DAY ZERO

Character Name: Andrew Hale

Minis account name: kapao

Age: 27

Gender: M

Employment: Barista by day, DJ by night

Faction: District 4

Character description: Drew is 6'1" and a lean 159lbs. He is a smattering of European plus an eighth Native American, and sports light skin (that's more prone to tanning but he can still get sunburns if he's not careful), chestnut brown hair and light, hazel-brown eyes.

[+] Loyal to a fault, once he thinks you're worth his time and trust he's your man forever. Or at least until you screw up massively and give him reason to doubt you. It also works the other way; once you lose his trust, he'll never fully trust you ever again. He's also an optimist. Not annoyingly so, but he likes to look at the silver lining as often as possible. Even if there's nothing good to hope for in a situation, he'll try and keep a smile on so he can at least get through it.

[-] Sentimental, whether or not he admits it when he's asked. He has a really, really hard time letting go of people or things that are important to him. He has a particular soft spot for children, and would bend over backwards to make one stop crying. He's also typically has a hard time taking a leadership role. While this doesn't necessarily mean he is incapable, he has doubts about making critical decisions and would readily relinquish such a responsibility to someone else.

Do I own any characters in the shop? Y

DAY ZERO ENTRY PROMPT:

Day in, day out it was the same old grind. No pun intended considering his place of employment. It was near closing and Drew was about ready to call it a night when the lights went out. The few customers still in the store grumbled and he did his best to calm them, then glanced around for his co-worker who was supposed to be helping him out. b*****d probably clocked out when he wasn't looking and ditched him, though. Wouldn't be the first time.

"Should seriously report his a**..." he muttered under his breath.

Quickly he pulled out his phone to shoot a text message to his girl, just to let her know what was going on and, if worst comes to worst, he'd be late coming home. It was dead, though; he remembered he forgot to charge it again. He gave a sigh and was starting to blame his luck when a customer came scrambling to the counter. He had to fight down a snort--he could kind of see the guy, and he looked a right mess. He'd started rambling about something or other.

It sounded like gibberish to him, and he was tired so he didn't even bother to try.

"Don't worry, sir," he said in about as monotonous a tone as he was capable. "The mall has back-up generators, I'm sure. The lights'll be back on in a little bit. Just sit tight, okay? Everything'll be fine."

But everything was not fine. The lights never came back on. Eventually, when he could faintly hear the frantic screams of people from beyond the coffee shop, he referred to his incredibly limited knowledge about what to do when mass hysteria breaks out: he hid. In the break room, after barricading the doors with the desk that had been shoved in the corner.

Character Name: Justin Sider

Minis account name: Bloodlust

Age: 27

Gender: The thing inside his pants calls him Male

Employment: Justin is a Bartender at the Club Nearby the University, The Horde

Faction: District 1 the University

Character description: Blonde man bun, charismatic hazel eyes. German and loved his v neck shirts and slim jeans.

His Pro's are that he knows his way around a good drink and works well under pressure.

His cons are dealing with emotional wrecks, and his hearing is iffy, due to working in very loud conditions.

Do I own any characters in the shop?DO I? hmmmm..... I guess I do!

DAY ZERO ENTRY PROMPT: Even on the day of the Incident, The Horde was still pumping out tunes. the DJ named Going in wet, was killing the crowd of university students that evening, and keeping the lush and the douchebags properly liquored up was his role in this place, that and taking their funds, their sometimes imbibed generous tips, and pouring a freebie over some of the more attractive patrons in order to entice the buying of more drinks. Justin was able to read the vibe on the floor, came along with the profession and this time he knew it felt off, how he wasn't sure but something was amiss. The vibe went from energetic to one of horror as the floor descended to chaos, people, things falling from the rafters, attacking people.

In a matter of moments there was glass erupting among screams, lights that were once festive went dark and popped back on to highlight the grotesque scene that felt like it was a B rated horror flick. The kind you would throw popcorn at, not expensive bottles of liquor as you tried to get out the employees only entrance. The panic went to the streets when the thing also shambled their way out, following the scared and frightened as they made ways to some sort of security, Justin did to, looking to the University of his nightly patrons it was fairly close by driving and driving meant putting his car as a physical barrier against the madness, the decaying bodies that moved in jerky positions. the University was a place filled with budding Intellectual minds, those built to take on physical challenges.

- It also boasted a good portion of idiots trying to get wasted every night, but he could hope that those who weren't at his club had a higher survival rate than those who did. He wasn't sure where the road was going to take him, cursing loudly as he looked at the gas gauge teetering near the red and regretting not filling the tank that afternoon.

But Justin Sider continued to drive and pray that safety was somewhere on the horizon.

ENTRY LOG: DAY ZERO

Character Name: Monica Chavez

Minis account name: thyPOPE

Age: 25

Gender: Female

Employment: Drag racer/occasional restaurant critic. Currently imprisoned for 30 days on a driving while impaired charge.

Faction: District 2 Prison. Please keep with Syusaki's character Cory Gimenez and Amorpheous' character Greta Dean if possible, please!

Character description: Monica's a short, squat mestiza woman with dark skin and hair on the frizzier side (she generally dyes it a reddish-brown, but her roots are growing in). She has foxlike features and her fashion sense is best described as street glam, with a special fondness for faux fur. Of course, lately all she's been wearing is prison garb.

Like her brother she's extremely excitable but she tends to be a little more focused than he is (in fact, she has a bit of a reputation for having a one track mind - she can tick people off with her inability to interest herself in their hobbies). She's cocky with a little too much confidence in her skillset (limited though it is), but also extremely charismatic. Her quick eloquence and air of excitement manage to make people gravitate toward her.

+ focused, charismatic, loyal
= excitable, protective, affectionate
- no self preservation, one track mind, cocky

Do I own any characters in the shop? Yep!

DAY ZERO ENTRY PROMPT: She'd been heading over to meet Corgi (because yes, her little brother deserved a cutesy nickname, thank you for asking) when it happened: the lights shut off. Oh, great. Sure, the residents of Delta's foremost correction facility didn't tend to be considered very important by the rest of the city, but usually they didn't get hit by a power outage when it wasn't even storming outside. "What's the estimate on that?" Monica joked, turning immediately to one of the two guards accompanying her on her way.

He wasn't even paying attention to her. Or, at least, he didn't respond, and neither did the other one. "That's not on the schedule," said the female guard, sounding confused, a few seconds later. "I mean, we wouldn't schedule a blackout during visitor hours. But it'll only be a few minutes while the backup generator gets set up."

She sounded confident. Nothing was wrong.

"So...are we staying put?" she asked, a little antsy. Sure, she wasn't gonna be in prison for very long, but Cory was her little bro. They'd stuck together for a while now, in the face of their parents' seemingly insurmountable disappointment (they had a dropout and an adrenaline junkie for children: how did Monica expect them to react? they always asked), and the shittiest part of being here was that she wasn't with him, dicking around. Being delayed in seeing him wasn't the end of the world, but she sure would prefer to talk to the bugger sooner rather than later, even with the lights off. What good did that do, anyway? At the lack of response she eased her way to the side of the hallway. Guess that was what she was supposed to do. Someone was shouting around the corner - but then there was always someone shouting, place like this.

"Don' feel so good," mumbled the male guard. "Stomach bug..."

"Well, don't pass it to me," Monica joked. "Or soon enough, everyone'll have it."

"I'll go calm 'em down," said the female guard. "Doug, you stay put with her." Monica listened to her steps fade sharply. There was even more shouting than there'd been. The male guard - Doug - moaned low in his throat.

"Uh, bless you?"

Again, Doug's reply was a rasp of a moan. What was going on? Monica inched closer to him, waiting for her eyes to adjust to the dark light before - was he drooling? "Dude," she said, a little fascinated. "You know you can...you don't have to..."

His eyes looked wrong, Monica thought, before he made a noise that Monica could only describe as the hiss of a startled cat, and leapt at her. She scuttled away as quickly as she dared, eyes widening as they watched him, because there wasn't really anywhere else she'd dare to look in light of this. What the hell? Monica was by far one of the least violent people here. Sure, she liked to play at wrestling with her kid brother and with some of her friends, but you know, you had to get to know a person first. And she'd only just learned Doug's name. And what his face looked like.

Had his cheek looked like that before? Blood spurting helplessly, a chunk of flesh falling off. There was no way that was normal. Where'd the female guard gone? What was her name? Monica darted ahead in the corridor, where she heard much of the same sort of...hissing and moaning.

Was this an elaborately staged costumed spectacle? Ha ha, we're guarding stupid inmates; time to mess with them? Well, first off, Monica strongly objected to the idea that she was stupid, and second...that was definitely the female guard there, looking perfectly sane next to a pair of people in the uniform of the prisoners. They most decidedly did not look normal - in fact, they looked kind of like they were coming from a zombie movie. And...so did Doug, come to think of ********, ********, <********>! What was Corgi doing? Wait, ******** it, no - Doug was advancing from one side and the pair of inmates from the other. Where could they - oh! "This way!" Monica shouted, hoping to hell the female guard could hear her. They were right next to the stairs leading down to the laundry facility. It was...locked.

Fortunately the female guard knew exactly what she was going for. She fumbled for her keys and spun them in the lock. "I'm armed; you first," she said, wisely choosing not to mince words.

It was all Monica could do to just zip down the stairs, the female guard and their slightly less cognizant companions in quick pursuit. The thing was, there was no exit from the laundry room. ********. Monica's eyes lit on the washer drums, and the tall, older-looking woman that was now looking at the pair of them, quite startled. "Hide!" she shouted, wrenching an unused washer open and pulling herself inside. Thank God she was small, right?

She slammed the door shut after her, hoping to God the other two were all right.

And Cory. Oh, Cory. <********>. Come on, little bro...

DAY ZERO ENTRY PROMPT:

TONIGHT, blared Ingrid's voice on the radio out of her computer's high-definition speakers, THE GRID HAS SOME SPECIAL SELECTIONS FOR YOU. It was a pre-recorded show tonight; Ingrid had left the booth early.

Her room was lit up by all the usual screens: computer, where she was streaming her own radio, second monitor, which had Photoshop open, television, which had been sitting on the menu screen of a DVD for a few hours now, and her 3DS, which she was using.

When the lights went out and all the screens but the 3DS shut off, Ingrid was in the middle of a boss fight. The glow-in-the-dark star stickers on her ceiling lit up. As she frantically mashed the B button, she heard a piercing scream from outside the window. She turned the volume all the way up on the 3DS.

It was nearly eleven by the time the screaming was making it hard for her to hear the voice acting... and the power still hadn't come back on. Grumbling, Ingrid saved her game, shut off her 3DS, and went to get dressed so she could go complain to her landlord.

ENTRY LOG: DAY ZERO

Character Name: Gretel Sweet IMAGE HERE

Minis account name: yuo117

Age: 23

Gender: Female

Employment: University student, close to grad.

Faction: District 1 University or 4 Mall

Character description: Born in a wealthy family though, she wasn't given everything she want. The parents had taught the girl that you had to earn the things you need. Unlike other wealthy students, she didn't carry high brand purses around. Instead, she would have high-technology products that middle-class could get like i-Pad. She lived in dorms like most students as well. She blended in with the majority without effort. As an enthusiastic gamer, she also has played many games and has different kinds of game consoles that she earned. She doesn't take it for granted, that's the environment she grows up with.

+ Stick with you: Once she recognizes you, she will treat you with higher temperature. Once she calls you friend, she won't leave you alone. Gretel might think you're a burden, but she would make sure both of you survive despite of her cold disposition.

+ Resourceful: Student's responsibility is studying, Gretel absorbs knowledge like a sponge and does a lot of extra reading, from professional subjects like basic medic to life hacks like how to pick a lock. Similar to what she learned from various forums on the Internet. She doesn't boast about it, but will put these random information into good usage when needed.

+ Calm & Poised: When others get flustered, Gretel would stay composed and mellow. Even someone's death wouldn't drive her emotions to fluctuate.

- Aloof: While she could help anyone, she also has the option not to. She is fickle in her attitude. If she find something important, she might or might not tell others about it. The fact that she seldom smiles also gives a wrong first impression.

- Physically weak: She is not the athletic type, the only sports she would do is swimming. Gretel couldn't lift up heavy things albeit she could run quite fast.

- Can't live without her glasses: She has a very severe short-sighted problem, without the glasses, she would freak out and act completely different.

DAY ZERO ENTRY PROMPT: (( This is your DAY ZERO entry prompt. Please write 100 - 500 words (shortish) to the prompt below and respond to it (delete this part and only write the prompt):

With her headphones put on for the game time, Gretel Sweet controlled the protagonist in shooting zombies on the screen. She almost finished it and heading to where the final boss was. She had the chocolate bar in her mouth while both hands were on the console. She didn't turn on the light of the room and her roommate was out for party night.

The student didn't care about her roommate, so did her. They were like two polar kingdoms ruling on their own. Occasionally Gretel would find something missing, she knew it was her roommate but she didn't call out. Her emotion was as least flavoured as water, unless someone asked about Hansel. She didn't understand why everyone thought she would have a brother called that and she found those taunts insipid.

Suddenly, her ears caught a loud scream nearby. The eyebrows faintly curved and she saved the progress before putting down the console and headphones to wait for maybe a second scream. She didn't waited long, but the paused screen of her monitor blacked out instead of what she expected. Peeking through the window, Gretel could see red glow flashed at far when all the lights on the street went out like she was in a primitive world where dinosaurs still existed.

The eyes behind a chic lavender framed glasses calmly roamed around the community, dogs were barking loudly, people were shouting and screeching unintelligibly. Everything was a mess. A couple carrying bags passed by, the female paused with her high heels and swung off the man's hand. She threw a tantrum, asking the man to return for the Christian Dior pumps. The man grabbed her wrist like a falcon and yelled at her face, "No time for that! Didn't you see that creature, it killed a man, Celine! IT KILLED A MAN! The bloods gushed out like a fountain!" The female quivered and sat on the floor, dragged by the man to the garage with stumbles.

Gretel quickly recalled it to the spread of flu news, inside the dorm, students began to fluster and she heard stuff falling down and door slamming and footsteps in succession. "So this's how the world would end?" She packed a bag in unhurried steps and locked her door with the keys. All the electrical devices were malfunctioned, still she carried her phone and i-Pad in her bag. Climbing down stairs, she saw students pushing each other and some even tripped and fell.

She detoured the humans on the ground and trotted towards the entrance of the university quietly while her eyes kept watchful of the environment. "Noooo!" someone cried in desperation at the entrance and people recoiled and ran in the opposite direction. She stood still, startled by the scene and wondered if she was dreaming. As if she was brought into the apocalypse in the game she played, the man wore the security guard uniform tore a piece of flesh from the male student he grasped. The student's bag slid onto the ground with a thud, his arm was depleted of energy already and limp like a willow. His body convulsed like a fish out of water and blobs of blood poured against the ground, audible.

The guard made sounds of munching and relishing meats and stopped, Gretel felt her heart skipped a beat. He raised up in a stilted way and gazed at her direction. She covered her mouth in order not to make any noises, his eyes were turbid and the skin color a sickly white. Then he lowered his head to stuff his teeth into the fleshes again. Infected. The same look of what the zombies look in the game, sometimes they gave close-up shots. The composed girl, though dumbfounded, moved slowly backwards and took a detour to the library.

Fortunately, the guard moved slowly even though he was coming onto her way, hands reaching out feebly. Through the guard, she made out the male student slowly raised up and attacked a girl running, with a last shrill, her life came to an end. That was what she saw before turning a corner.

She hid in the canteen, grabbing bread for food supply and waited for a good chance to escape. She needed weapon, preferably a gun with light weight and flashlight, food and water as this stalemate wasn't known for the duration. Her mind spun like a computer, calculating what she needed for the best survival. That day, Day Zero, she became a survivor.

ENTRY LOG: DAY ZERO

Character Name: Guinevere Fae

Minis account name: Atheart

Age: 26

Gender: Female

Employment: N/A - Med School

Faction: District 3 Apartments

Character description: Guin has wavy brown hair with a tone lighter natural highlights. Mostly due to sun damage while jogging. She's of average height and prefers comfortable clothes over fashionable. Dark brown eyes with glasses (she's not horribly blind, but needs them to see a distance).
[+] Helpful / Level-headed - Guin has a really big heart and will try to help anyone in need. She believes that anyone should be helped, whether good or bad. The doctor-to-be relates well to the people around her, despite being a bit rough in how she says things. She tries her best to keep calm and think through situations.
[-] Opinionated / Blunt - She holds very strongly to her beliefs and is very much a liberal. Will get into long debates with people. Coming from her schooling, Guin is very to the point and will tell people how she feels about something. If she doesn't like you, you'd know. Her passion for things could very much be her downfall.

Do I own any characters in the shop? Yes, two.

DAY ZERO ENTRY PROMPT:

Guin, like any other night, had her head in her room of the apartment. She had subjects to study despite school just starting. The reading wasn't assigned, but she needed to stay at least a little bit ahead -- she was afraid of falling behind once things got busier. When the lights turned off, Guin was more frustrated than afraid.

She was ready to go to bed. What else could she do if there were no lights? Guin sat her bed staring into the darkness, until a scream rang out. "What in the world was that?" Maybe someone was playing some sort of creepy video game.

There were sounds near her second-story window. People were running and screaming and all she could do was listen. Her heart began to race. There were definitely some normal people in the crowds.... But others were different. There were plenty of scares about an outbreak of something, but Guin hadn't thought it was possible.

Quickly, she took her blankets and covered her window. No one needed to know she was there. Guin had a ton of books and a few things in the kitchen. That would keep her safe, right? She went to the door to yell out into the hallway. "Hey. Are you playing video games over there? Was that your scream?"

Do I own any characters in the shop? Yes~ [mini draggy]

DAY ZERO ENTRY PROMPT:
He was at his apartment he shared with his sibling when it all went down. Though his younger brother wasn't there at the time. Corven blinked as his favorite show blinked out. Muttering darkly he walked over to the TV and kicked it a few times. When that yielded nothing he figured the landlord cut off their power again. Smirking he went to walk downstairs to scare the pudgy idiot into another six months of "pre-payment". As he walked down the flight of stairs he slowed seeing the darkened street. Odd but not alarming to the young male. He reached the bottom and heard a crash from the landlord's office. He didn't rush down the hall, he took his time. Reaching the mid point however he slowed to a stop as he saw someone walk out. Seeing blood on their hands and a crazy look to their eyes.

He logically bolted his skinny arse right back to his apartment.

Then...everything went to Hell in a Handbasket. Corven hated this. He wasn't a freaking coward he was a fighter for christ sakes! He kept hidden for a bit longer. His mind thinking quickly to his younger twin over on the campus. He was safe there...now all he had to do. Was find others...

He hated playing in a team.

Do I own any characters in the shop? Nope!

DAY ZERO ENTRY PROMPT:
Diana had been wondering where all the guards had wandered off to when the lights went out. She really wasn't sure what that was about, but it worked just fine for her. While in the caffeteria earlier she had managed to get enough items together to make a makeshift lockpick and now was finally her chance to escape. She'd been thrown in there for minor theft this time, but with what she had been hearing on the news before she was thrown in worried her. There had been talks of infection and some sort of virus going around, none of which she wanted to deal with. Just as she was finishing off the lock she heard it. Strangled cries and screams echoing through the hall. Several of the inmates were on edge now, and the lingering question she had thought earlier was still ever present. Where were the guards? Wandering down the hall in attempt to find an exit she discovered just where they were. There was something definitely wrong here and she wanted no part of it. The guards were fighting, but that wasn't the strangest part of it. The strangest was the blood dripping from one of them as he tried to overwhelm the other guard. Spotting her there, the guard quickly shouted at her.

"Don't just stand there inmate! Help me! Get help so-" his shouting was abruptly cut off when the other guard grabbed him by the throat and snapped his neck, the sickening sound as he dropped to the floor lifeless enough to make her gag. That was when the other "guard" turned to her and she realized just how big of a mess she had gotten herself into. The pale guard shambled towards her, it's body riddled in bullet holes and blood. She didn't wait to see anything else beyond that. She simply took off at a full sprint, her lungs burning as she pushed herself to try and find some place to hide. Stuck in a prison with nowhere to turn, she ran towards the laundry room to cower in a bin of clothing. She was scared and alone stuck in someone's dirty laundry. She just hoped the creatures couldn't hear her sobs in the darkness.

ENTRY LOG: DAY ZERO

Character Name: Greta Dean

Minis account name: Amorpheous

Age: 46

Gender: Female

Employment: Laundry Facilities Worker

Faction: District 2 Prison. Would prefer to be kept with thyPOPE's Monica Chavez and Syusaki's Cory Gimenez.

Character description: Greta's hair had begun to grey years ago and she could never be bothered to do anything about it. She has little time for vanity and no one at the prison cares much how she looks as long as she is decent and doing her job. She indulges in a little eyeliner when she has an easy morning, but who's watching but her? She is otherwise unremarkable in every way. Dutiful and quiet, she does her job--she helps run the laundry facilities in the prison--without complaint. Prone to bouts of idealism, or fanciful stupidity, she has a habit of thinking that "her prisoners" (often those in for the worst crimes) are meant for better days and thinks that perhaps she can live vicariously through them. She's never been proven right and, several times, has allowed her optimism to persuade her to do things that she perhaps shouldn't have to... help them out.

+ Hardworking
+ Dutiful
- Delusional
- Gullible

Do I own any characters in the shop? N

DAY ZERO ENTRY PROMPT:
It was quiet in the laundry room except for the rumbling of machines, tumbling, tumbling, tumbling, sheets and clothes round and round. This was her life: listening to what was dirty become clean (but not beautiful). Of course, when there were prisoners working in the laundry room she had their chatter to keep her company and the need to give orders, but otherwise her work was solitary. Don’t get too close to the prisoners. was one of the rules they had given her when she had first started working. If her definition of close had changed over the years, no one of consequence had noticed or cared.

The lights went out right has she started to empty a large dryer drum of clothes. She thought nothing of it, some natural light allowed her to continue her work and, if nothing else, she always got her work done. Out of the drum and into the big cart next to her went the clothes. After this she had plenty of folding to look forward to.

It was only then that two women burst in, a prisoner and guard, that she realized that something must have been wrong. The backup generator hadn’t kicked in and they looked scared.

Hide!

She didn’t need to be told twice. Greta was no fighter and, despite all the risks she took on a daily basis, she had a great sense of self preservation. She pulled herself up and into the dryer, dropping onto the warm clothes. Closing the lid on the drum, she closed her eyes and listened. At least she would be comfortable.
