When the sound of crunched metal reached his ears, Jason knew something was very wrong. He knew something had happened from the beginning, listening to Yuki's labored breathing, the sounds of pursuit, and then the harsh sounds of metal scraping upon metal. Someone had attacked him, but it was no infected or undying.
No, it had been someone from his side.
It made no sense, he couldn't understand why someone would do such a thing. Weren't they supposed to be here to help?
"s**t!" Had someone gone after Yuki's civilian? "Wouldn't he be alright? He is a ghost, can't he just reform?"
It was nice that Zanthvos was, for once, giving him some useful information to work with. But at the same time it was a ominous feeling. His weapon usually only getting serious when the situation was dire. Was he concerned things could get ugly?

'Shush you' Jason couldn't help it. Even if now they were on opposite sides of the field, technically enemies now, he couldn't think of him that way. The knights had felt too real, and during that time he had grown attacked to the white knight. Now that he was a ghost, he couldn't think badly of the guy. Especially if he was here saving humans. So when he heard Yuki was in danger he dashed off, thanking the gods that no other hunter objected to him trying to help a ghost out.
The casino loomed in sight, and he rushed in without a moments thought. He didn't care what Yuki was, he would come for him.
He slowed his pace once inside to a slow walk, breathing harsh from the long run, and gazed into the darkened rooms. He could see no sign of undying or infected, which was a good thing. He spared a glance to his unconscious civilian, balanced on his shoulder so he could use his sword, wondering if he would be safer to place her down somewhere. It made more sense, but he couldn't just leave her alone, fearing she might be attacked without them there.
Heavy boots treaded softly on the carped floors of the casino, his other hand holding Zanth. The weapon glowed softly, proving some light for him to see by as he searched for the missing ghost.

Out of the shadows leaped a undying, But Jason was prepared.
He spun, a flash of gleaming metal, and the creature was dead.
He didn't have time to be fighting these things.

It hadn't taken long for Jason to prove Riley right. When she heard the distant sounds of running, she reached out to taste the flavor of his mind. Once she was sure the man coming was the right Jason, Riley's expression lifted up victoriously, and her arms and legs bent to crawl her backwards with sinister animalistic movements, silently moving her back into shadow. Yuki was left alone against the wall, slumped and unconscious. A shaft of light from a broken hole in the ceiling illuminated his body in part.
But Riley was gone.
She knew he would come for Yuki, the moment he saw him. She waited until that moment came, before the voice began to whisper in Jason's head.
You came.
It was soft. So soft, and tender, and gentle, and familiar. It was the voice of a woman long since dead, who Jason had only met in a dream, and yet there was no mistaking it. She used Riley's voice, because she knew exactly what it would elicit from the man.
Jason. The sound of his name was whispered musically. The siren had returned. Jason, it's me. It's us. Can you hear me? Am I reaching you? You've done it, you've found us. Both of us.
It wasn't long before Jason located what he was looking for. Part of the ceiling was damaged, allowing a slither of light to illuminate the floor, and the transparent outline of a male body.
"YUKI!" He shouted, about to run to his side.
'Huh?" He stopped, before a voice called out to him.
He...knew this voice.
The hunter stood there, surprise written all over his face. "R-riley?" It couldn't be. The softly spoken chime of her voice calling again. "Riley is t-that you? H-how..."
He looked around, eyes searching for the girl in her delicate dresses and veiled face. "Where are you?"
Yuki stirred to the sound of Jason's voice, eyes slowly opening but unfocused. "Jason," he murmured, with realization and dread. He couldn't be relieved, or happy to see him. Not when he feared for what was coming.
He pushed himself up with his arms, vision tipping and swaying and making him feel sick. "Jason, get out."
Looking up properly, he saw double, struggling to focus his eyes and his head throbbing. Those eyes widened when something else materialized behind the Hunter; another shadow that had taken on his own form.
"BEHIND YOU!"
He wasn't getting up nearly fast enough, but it wasn't for lack of trying. He looked around frantically, even as he tried to prepare to fight back against the undying that had appeared. He wasn't nearly as worried about that...

The drive to get rid of the shadow was much higher than it had been when he thought himself alone. It was not the only monster in the darkness, and it was certainly not the only thing that meant them harm.
"Put your back to the wall and stay alert!" Yuki called back to Jason, driving the shadow mimic of himself further and further from the Hunter with each blow.
