|| HOME || Bataar generally carts around a small yurt, which is a nomadic tent made up of animal skins. Thus far he doesn't have anywhere permanent that he sets up and he tends to try and find areas right outside the city. Of course, that's something that can easily present problems; Bat simply doesn't understand the concept of land ownership very well.

Lunarian Name || Bataar
_________________meaning & origin || Bataar is a Mongolian male name which means "hero".
_________________I chose it for the symbolic strength in its meaning. The relatively small
_________________mountainous country of Mongolia, although dwarfed by China, always
_________________managed to pose a huge threat and was even a major cause for
_________________the building of the Great Wall; these weathered people are historically
_________________known for their strategy, precision, and power. Bataar is to be a warrior
_________________and so I saw his name as rather fitting, especially since his design is
_________________going to be heavily influenced by the rich culture and history of Mongolia.
Path || Warrior
_____________reasoning || Bataar was born to fight and did just that from a very young age.
_________________Violence is strength for Bataar and in his opinion there's nothing like a good
_________________fight. Scratches and bruises are a regular occurrence, and even if he sounds
_________________like something of a brute he sees quarreling as more of a casual social activity
_________________than anything else.
Personality || Belligerent – of warlike character; aggressively hostile
_________________Bataar can come off as a little bit abrasive sometimes. Well, okay, so maybe he
_________________does that a lot of the time, but he was born and bred to radiate hostility. Becoming
_________________a warrior is a life dream of sorts for him and the scarier you come off, the better
_________________that works out in Bataar's philosophy.
____________|| Coarse – vulgar; obscene; crass
_________________He's not the cleanest guy in the world and I don't mean that he just doesn't like
_________________baths. Bataar tends to adopt a very crude manner on a regular basis; he could be
_________________insecure or he could just be a filthy rascal, but if he's acting then he's the star of
_________________his own tawdry little show.
____________|| Assured – bold; confident; authoritative
_________________Bataar always thinks he knows what he's doing and tends to have an air of
_________________confidence about him at all times. He views himself as a natural leader and is
_________________often seen as arrogant because of it although he sees himself as dauntless.
____________|| Dysphemistic – substituting a harsh or distasteful term for a mild one
_________________Bataar is hardly soft-spoken. In fact, his colorful vocabulary is probably capable
_________________of winning him an award or two. The fact of the matter is he makes up many of his
_________________words as he goes just to sound derogatory. His epic dysphemisms and abuse of
_________________language help to define much of who he is, personality-wise. Bataar wants to come
_________________off as rough around the edges.
____________|| Decisive – characterized by displaying little or no hesitation
_________________As far as being decisive, Bataar is your man(well, Lunarian). He knows full well what
_________________he wants to do and he knows it in no time at all. Those who know him criticize him as
_________________impulsive, but his defense is that he's an absolutist and knows what he wants and when
_________________he wants it-- which, when decision-making presents itself, generally produces the
_________________immediate answer of "this and now," coming from Bataar.
Hobbies || Archery
_________________Archery demands a high concentration level as well as mental and physical fitness. The insistence of this hobby on absolute focus was something that was, at first, utterly unappealing to Bataar. As a child, lessons in archery were the bane of Bataar's existence as he much preferred close combat by hand or by sword; however, after the dispersal of his clan and the loss of any friends or playmates to fight with, Bataar chose to utilize his Mongolian bow and wreak havoc with target practice on his family's small farm as a distraction from their bad situation. Any nearby trees were targeted and then riddled with handmade arrows and Bataar's interest in archery quickly picked up. Encouragement from his mother to perfect his skills drove him even further than his own boredom and, over time, he managed to master the Mongolian bow.
Archery benefits Bataar in a way that few other things really can; every time he shoots an arrow he is forced into a high state of calm concentration and his abrasive personality is dragged out of the picture for a few swift moments of focus. In these seconds, the hardened shell is shattered, if only for an instant and Bataar inadvertently reveals that he's more multi-faceted than some crass heathen. The spell is broken quickly, however, and after a good shot Bataar is dumped right back on the edge of where he was beforehand-- loud and rude.
________|| Wrestling
_________________It may not be sophisticated, but it sure is fun! Bataar is prone to declare a wrestling match at any time and happens to enjoy a good brawl. This stems from his childhood in the Jaoret clan where he wrestled with many a kid and usually emerged victorious-- it's something he'll brag about even now although it's hardly significant that he could beat up the other little kiddies. If anything, wrestling is a great way for Bataar to vent.
________|| Animals
_________________Bataar? Have a soft spot? No way! He himself would declare that his hobby is kicking animals as opposed to spending some serious quality time with them. His love of animals probably sprang up in his early childhood when he and his family were a part of the Jaoret clan who were herders. Needless to say, kitties, puppies and bunnies make Bataar all fuzzy inside. He views this particular hobby as a weakness and does his best to hide it from everyone he knows in order to come off as the tough type.

History ||
__Bataar grew up in a compact clan of nomadic herders known as the Jaoret. The clan was tightly-knit before the war broke out and Bataar had many playmates in his younger years, all of whom he bullied. The clan enjoyed an abundance of food and supplies and held great pride in their many customs and resources; their religious beliefs revolved around shamanism. Bataar's father, Chuluun, was a clan elder and aided in making important decisions as well as keeping an oral history of the Jaoret clan, saved to be told and passed on in the traditional tents set up by the nomads referred to as yurts. His mother, Odvil, was the clan shaman and well-respected throughout the Jaoret people for her skills in medicine-making as well as for being well-versed in rituals specific to the Jaoret such as the Tsam dances, performed in order to expel evil spirits.
__His early life was characterized by an intimacy with nature and animals although he hardly shows that aspect of himself off these days. His family was generally as loving as it gets considering his culture and the expectations they had of him as an only child and a son at that. He worked from a young age to please his parents and his clan, seemingly stripping himself of most of his sensitivity in the process.
__For most of his youth the clan continued their nomadic ways but the threat of war was a force powerful enough to shatter the bonds of the clansmen and Bataar's mother was accused for not keeping the evil spirits away due to the new unrest among the Jaorets. The clan split in a violent clash leaving Bataar with his first real taste of battle as well as a scar running along his collarbone. He and his parents were lucky to escape relatively unharmed, although his mother lost an eye in the conflict and his father's spirit was effectively broken.
__Bataar and his parents were forced to abandon their nomadic ways and settled near the outskirts of the kingdom on a small farm with land that was nearly barren. The small family was embittered by the dispute they'd been forced to go through due to political strife and chose to lay the blame upon the Legions, hoping only for a new government from which they might benefit or prosper. They viewed siding with the Nobles as a chance to regain their broken pride through means of Bataar gaining success through the rebellious party; even if their sedimentary lifestyle displeased them, surely this was a way in which to rise again from the ashes. Bataar's mother, especially, started pushing him in hopes of increasing his chances of creating a favorable outcome for their family.
__Bataar's upbringing was scarred by the political turmoil of Lunaria and the situation only fueled his desire to side with the Nobles and fight against the emperor and his Legions. He saw light in overthrowing the current government and took on increasingly liberal views throughout the years. His ardent anger towards the Legions only fueled his parallel belief that to be strong was to be violent and perhaps a little cruel. He placed the blame of his clan shattering upon the stale government and saw the rebellion as a chance for vengeance. His mother only encouraged these views, often reminding Bataar of her lost eye in an effort to impassion her son; "You must not forget," she would say, "about your poor father!" Chuluun had fallen into the characteristic stupor of an alcoholic although he hadn't had a drink since the dispersal of the clan. Bataar would merely glance at his father and nod, unable to find the right words to really appease his mother's anger.
__All he could really do was what he knew, and the one thing he felt confident in was combat. Throughout his childhood Bataar had learned such things as Mongolian wrestling as well as archery with a Mongolian-style bow. These skills were an integral part of the Lunarian and he was hardly about to give them up. He instead abandoned his duties at the failing farm in his family's possession and worked on perfecting his skills, quarreling with other peasants and using birds as target practice. He was constantly encouraged by his mother and soon had the precision of one of the former Jaoret warriors with his specialized bow and wrestling skill.
__His dedication to the cause of the Nobles became, in his small world, matched only by that of his mother who now took immense pride in her seemingly cruel son. He now views siding with the Nobles as a definitive path in his life and has been convinced, if not a little brainwashed, by his mother of the terrible ways of the Legions.
Family || Odval & Chuluun
_____________mother || Odval; this woman is far from weak. A former shaman of the Jaoret clan as well as her son's sole supporter, Odval knows what she's doing. Bataar's mother was left with one eye after the conflict with the Jaorets and is immensely bitter because of it. She has chosen to side with the Nobles, hoping that along with a new form of government prosperity might come to her family. She's described by many as a complete b***h, but Bat is extremely dedicated to his mommy. Odval wouldn't have it any other way; it is her belief that she was meant to have more than the life she is now subjected to all because of the rift between the Nobles and the Legionnaires. If you can't beat them, join them.
_____________father || Chuluun; he was lost in the fall. Bataar's father wishes he'd been cut down during the clash of their clan and before his life all but deteriorated. Bataar generally pretends his father no longer exists and tries his hardest to ignore him as Chuluun's despair is almost an infectious thing. He is lost in the past and often chants the Jaoret's history, of which he was keeper, to himself.

_________________reasoning || Bataar sees justice in the cause of the rebellion as he holds a
_________________more liberal point of view and finds the current government distasteful. The
_________________fact of the matter is that Bataar generally dislikes any sort of establishment
_________________setting down rules for him to follow, let alone the Legions. As long as any form
_________________of government exists, this Lunarian won't be pleased and rebellion itself holds
_________________strong appeal for him.

Bataar receives his father's former bow after his death from Odval as his weapon during Fighter stage. The bow is rudimentary, yet effective. However, the weapon is definitely more suited to the plains of Bat's homeland, meant to be used from horseback. A love for close combat will eventually bring him to the point where archery turns into more of a nostalgic hobby.

❀ [PRP]: [Main Street]: [Jianyu/Bataar]: A very unsuspecting Jianyu runs into Bataar, who isn't getting very far due to the congestion on Main Street; Bat decides to take his frustration out on his fellow classmate through bullying and it quickly segues into a fight.
❀ [PRP]: [Tranquil Forest]: [Zhongxian/Bataar]: Bataar is hanging out in the forest with his animal buddies when a stray bead smacks him in the cornea. He confronts Zhongxian angrily about it and they get to trying to kill eachother.
❀ [PRP]: [Tea Leaves]: [Kyung/Bataar]: Bat encounters Kyung(and mistakes him for a lady) after prowling a teahouse and attempts to 'save' him from two thugs. He ends up breaking Kyung's wrist and is forced to carry him about; Kyung's father comes on the scene and hires Bataar to be the blue Lunarian's guard and companion.

He mistakes Van as his opponent and they get into an argument. He ends up calling her a man which starts off their first battle.
❀ [PRP]: [It's in My Bra!]: [Van/Bataar]: Van stumbles upon Bataar who gropes her in order to make sure his punch in the boob from their last fight had no seriously ill effects.
