Had Van had all her senses about her, she might have reasoned that Bataar had merely been trying to provoke her, and his statement hadn't been based in any sort of truth at all. Unfortunately for him, her anger had long since clouded her judgment, and she had decided to move from speaking with words to speaking with her fists.

Not that it mattered at this point; Van was planning on winning anyway.

The girl's lean shape lent well to speed, and she quickly closed the distance between the boy and her. Violet eyes gleaming in cold fury, she held out a tightened fist, aiming for the gut.

Ethics? Battle formalities? Those don't matter when a boy insults a girl's looks.

Bataar looked rather pleased with Van's angry expression; after all, she should have been quite angry. He'd take his time with this girl! The Mongol grinned to himself, completely unaware of Van's thought process until she lunged at him. He gaped dumbly, his green eyes widening in disbelief when he got his breath knocked out of him.

"You..." Bat coughed and choked, struggling to finish his statement. The hit had come without warning; he hadn't expected this sort of rage simply because he'd called her a man! It definitely wasn't fair.

He tried to regain his breath and when he finally did it was only to try and insult the other Lunarian more than he already had. "You're more of a man than I thought! Wait 'till you get a mustache."

He could hardly help the idiotic grin on his face now as he aimed a light punch in Van's direction-- apparently his insults had no weight whatsoever because he was trying to go easy on her.

Having gotten past the first punch—and damn, did it feel good—Van let her anger subside back into her body, its only outward manifestation being a rather indignant expression on her face. As far as Van was concerned, this was merited. She hadn't been planning on an all-out brawl, so she appeared quite smug when her punch had flown true and knocked the wind out of her opponent.

This was only short-lived, however, as his next words only set her off again. He had definitely asked for it. The line of her mouth tightened as she stopped in her tracks, and turned around to deliver a roundhouse kick.

He barely touched her with that light punch, eluded by the speed with which she moved. She smirked, backing off a few steps. "From that sissy hit, I'd say I'm more manly than you are."

Bataar grimaced as his words were met with a kick. It was decided. Van was most certainly a man. He considered it with a tiny frown on his face despite the injuries that were sure to leave dark purple bruises. It was unpleasant knowing that his punch hadn't really connected, but he was now trying to come to terms with the fact that his fellow student absolutely had to be of the male gender.

"Real men don't take baths!" Bat declared, grinning. "But you're close." He complimented, watching Van with evident fascination although it was true that he ought to have been more worried for his life.

This time he made sure to throw a good punch; you weren't supposed to go easy on other men!

Van's gasp of indignation turned into a soft moan of pain as Bataar's fist connected with her shoulder, much harder this time. It threw her light frame back several feet. The scuffle had turned into a no-holds-barred war, something that, in retrospect, was bound to happen sooner or later.

The girl wasn't stupid enough to try to attack the mass of muscles head on, so she'd have to go at it in a more roundabout way.

The two Lunarians clashed again and again in a torn down version of the martial arts they had been taught in school. No weapons, no blocking, simply hits upon hits.

Eventually, Van recoiled from the flailing mess, and tried to redeem herself of the blasphemy she'd wrought upon her martial art. She took on the stance of the Tiger Fist for only a brief second, before letting loose with some of the hardest series of hits she knew.

"Real men," she grunted, somewhere in between hits, "don't lose to women."

Bataar let out a cheer as Van stumbled back and did a fist-pump. Of course, he was far from victorious at this point. His expression became less and less cheerful as they continued to collide with eachother throwing kicks and punches and dealing out bruises as if purple were the new black. It would have been easy for any bystander to see that Bat and Van were going to look absolutely terrible in the morning.

The Mongol tried to stumble after his opponent when she pulled back, determined to throw yet another punch when a series of blows suddenly knocked the wind out of him. He coughed, trying to move backwards now and failing rather miserably at any attempts to dodge.

"Luckily for me you're such a man." Bat choked, trying to ignore the fact that he was being dominated.

Van was still too into the moment to notice the blows that were being inflicted all over her body. She was focused more on pummeling the bigger Lunarian as hard as she possibly could, until one of them fell. In her mind, he only qualified his idiocy further by speaking. Was he trying to get himself killed by inciting her?

Never mind that, at this point, she herself would be a little more purple than usual for class the next morning. However, the restorative powers of makeup were incredible.

The girl wasn't fighting this fight for the Legion. It was for her personal, sadistic retribution. Bataar had called her a man, had stunk up the classrooms. Just that he was alive was more than an irritation, she could see. Most likely she would be doing several other people a world of good if Bataar walked into class the next morning a heap of bruises and broken bones... or if he didn't show up at all.

Now, she had to wipe that grin off his face. "Shut. Your. Mouth." were her tense words, as she brought her fist to his face.

Bataar was beginning to realize that the situation he'd managed to get himself into was less than ideal. In fact, it almost-- not quite! --looked as if he might be losing right now. That, of course, was impossible, though! How could he, Bataar, lose to such a force as this manly woman? It made no logical sense.

He threw a few weak punches in Van's direction, unable to get in any good hits. Apparently he was past the point of no return or something of the sort. Still, it seemed very important that he got in a good hit before the end. The Mongol assessed his chances, saw that they were few and far in between and then got ready to try anyway. It was worth an attempt.

His fist connected directly with Van's... well, with her boob.

"Oops."

He definitely deserved that punch in the face.

There was nothing quite like the high-pitched shriek that sounded right afterward, and few could match the strings of curses that flew from Van's mouth as she stood back for a moment, cradling her bosom with her arms. Apparently even adrenaline could not mask such a hit.

Van's normally pretty face had contorted into a fierce mask of rage. She was wholly convinced, now, that this b*****d had to be the lowest scum of the earth. Murder was in order. Taking another running start, she knew that she had to pull her signature quan khi dao move now.

All too soon, Van had slung both of her legs around Bataar's neck. Using the momentum from her sprint, she swung her body around and downward, disturbing his balance and sending him flying into the ground with her.

There, b***h. Those were her thoughts as she peered down into his face, panting. The nature of this move meant that she ended up sitting on her opponent's chest. How do you like that?

If there had ever been a time to try and run, this was it. Bataar stared at the Legionnaire, frozen in fear; he wasn't scared often, and when he was, his one-eyed mother Odval was often the cause. No other female had ever scared him to this point and he was rarely aware of when he was in the wrong, but right now he was altogether certain that he deserved whatever was coming.

It definitely came. Bat hardly had the time to screech in horrified protest when Van went for the scissor-kick. He went down to the ground, gasping at the impact. His back was sure to be bruised.

"...Oh, s**t." was all Bat managed to groan before he passed out.

If anything, Van was relieved that it had ended. Any more, and the outcome could have been quite different, though she would never admit this even to herself. She had won. The jerk had gotten what he deserved, and again, Van had proven her worth.

Van suddenly realized that she was touching Bataar, and hurriedly removed herself from him. Yep, it was definitely time for a hot bath when she got home to rid herself of the smell. Bruises? Those were nothing compared to the stench. When she got back, her mother would ask what took her so long. Her father would ask why she looked like such a wreck. Her brother would simply shake his head. They'd all know her glory, though, when she told them she'd kicked some Noble a**.

Smiling, Van brushed her clothes off and turned to the boy. "Looks like you just got beat by a girl," she taunted oh-so-smugly.

Then, pulling up her nearly forgotten bag of groceries from the ground, she set for home. Although she had won this time, she knew it was not the end.
