Jianyu managed to curve his body away from Bataar's fist, but the blow still grazed his side bruisingly hard, causing him to twist sideways and roll onto his stomach in the dirt. He spat out a mouthful of dust inhaled from his dodge, and turned dark eyes on Bataar, a maniacal grin sliding across his face.
He supposed he shouldn't be enjoying this. After all, Bataar was his boyfriend, and he cared a great deal for him (though it was difficult to admit that plain and simple fact). And Bataar had just been through what was probably a very upsetting and traumatic ordeal (though he would never admit that fact), so finding pleasure in fighting against Bataar should not have been high on his list of emotions to feel at the moment.
Too bad it was.
Jianyu swiped a hand over his mouth, eyes dancing. "That's all you've got?" he said, and lunged for Bataar, his arms going around the Mongol's waist as he shoved him roughly back against the ground, raising his hand to throw a hard punch to that rugged face of his.

Bataar’s punch hadn’t exactly caught where he’d aimed, but he figured the hit was good enough. After all, he was just getting started. He was happy enough with what he’d done so far, too. He grinned, standing abruptly in an attempt to avoid any of Jianyu’s insane moves. He never knew what the other man would do mid-battle, and sometimes he wished they weren’t the fighting kind of pair—but they were, and there was certainly no denying it, especially now, in the middle of what was sure to be a heated battle between the two of them. Bataar had a few tactics, however, and he wasn’t afraid to use them!
He himself was more than pleased to be fighting at the moment, although even the thick-headed Mongol saw that there was probably something morally wrong with this vicious quarrel. This was, after all, the man that he was dating—the one he was supposed to be affectionately doting on. Why, they should have been sweet together! But the fact of the matter was that what they’d both packed for each other’s lunches were knuckle sandwiches, instead of ham. They were fighting all too eagerly, and it was too much entertainment for the both of them to really properly describe.
That was just how things were.
”You think so?” Bat asked, trying to stand as firmly as he could as he observed the other man. No doubt something erratic was about to happen—the maroon Lunarian just didn’t know what. Before he knew it, he was on the ground, and he’d turned his head just enough to avoid the full force of Jianyu’s punch, catching it on his cheek as opposed to his nose. There would be a bruise the next day, but that was not why he was irritated.
No, he was irritated because Jianyu appeared to be on top. Again. This was really going to have to stop, one hair-pulling at a time; and so Bataar grabbed the other man’s dark locks, aiming to gain some control through yanking Jianyu’s hair.

Jianyu let out a screech of pain as Bataar yanked at his hair. That was way beneath the belt, and Jianyu felt his ponytail fall loose, his hair cascading over his shoulders. With a snarl, he rolled sideways in an attempt to get away from Bataar, pulling himself free. Shaking his head, Jianyu raised a hand to press against the side of it, holding the area where Bataar had been pulling.
"What are you, a girl?" he taunted, grinning at Bataar as he aimed a kick to the Mongol's side. He climbed on top of him again, feeling more powerful when he was the one doing the hurting and was on top, rather than being stuck under the immense weight of the Mongol. Being the one underneath was too much of a disadvantage, especially when he was the one smaller and with less physical strength and abilities.
Jianyu grabbed Bataar's wrists, backing up as he stood up, dragging Bataar to his feet at the same time. Then he stood there, grinning like a child.
"Come onnnn!

Bataar had always been pleased with the results of a good hair-pulling. Jianyu’s reactions were especially priceless in that situation, and managed to entertain the Mongol quite a lot. After all, it didn’t matter how painful a punch might be, or how much of a blow a kick could turn out—it was the little things that hurt the most, that could fill one with fury in a heartbeat. That was exactly the way Bat liked it. He enjoyed rendering someone helpless through such a simple move, and how he could always go back and look upon his actions with amusement.
One thing that he was not was a girl. That was perhaps the worst insult Jianyu could have possibly thrown at Bat, and its implications were dire. The kick to the side certainly didn’t help his mood, which was spiraling downward, plummeting into some abyss or other. ”I am not a girl.” he hissed, aiming a vicious kick at Jianyu’s knee as the other man started to attempt climbing on top of him. It was the Mongol’s desire to do anything that might cause even minor damage to his boyfriend, and he was more than willing to try anything he could. He was, after all, nothing short of a manly man.
Bataar was quite annoyed to find that Jianyu was on top of him, and had the immediate belief that this was an entirely inappropriate predicament—this gave the other fighter way too much of an advantage. Surprisingly enough, he didn’t really have to worry about the other man dealing any major damage while he was underneath, because before he knew it he was being pulled to his feet. He gazed upon the other Lunarian, bewildered for just a moment before he decided to obey.
”Only if you’re sure!” he roared, swinging a punch straight at Jianyu’s shoulder.

Jianyu had not been this amused in quite some time. He could feel the adrenaline threading through his veins, feel the growing excitement. He was almost giddy, enjoying taunting Bataar as he smirked at him, shaking his head briefly to get some of his hair out of his face. He knew calling the Mongol a girl was one of the worst insults for someone like Bataar who prided himself on being as manly as he could. Therefore, it did not surprise him in the least to see the flash of irritation and upset cross over the Mongol's rugged face.
He only narrowly missed the punch Bataar threw towards his shoulder, still catching a part of it to his upper arm with enough strength to most likely bruise him. Jianyu winced involuntarily, tossing a brief unhappy glance over to his boyfriend before it disappeared and was replaced by the same grin from before.
"Are you sure?" Jianyu taunted, turning sideways and swinging a swift kick towards Bataar's side.

Bataar wasn’t so joyous about their battle by now, but that was partially because he was getting a bit too many bruises from Jianyu in particular that didn’t exactly suit his tastes. He was supposed to be the dominant manly man in the relationship, the one that could win the fights every time. Therefore, Jianyu’s slight advantages irked him immensely—besides that, there was no one he could be compared to a female! He definitely wasn’t any sort of girl, and he planned to make that clear through injuring his boyfriend as best he could. That was why Bat was fighting. It simply wasn’t fun when he was the one that was being insulted to the very core of his being.
He was pleased enough as his fist connected with Jianyu’s arm, although not at all happy that his original target hadn’t been obtained. That was simply rather irksome in the Mongol’s mind, and he made a note to try and get in a better hit later. He wanted to try and incapacitate the other man, and the legionnaire’s avoidance of his hits was beginning to wear on his patience. He was undeniably annoyed at this point, although that only strengthened his resolve to kick Jianyu’s a**.
The kick connected with his side, although he managed to avoid a direct hit; the clip was enough, however, and he knew that his ribs would surely be bruised. It was pain enough to sleep on a pile of furs instead of a bed, but that particular bruise was sure to get him as he tossed and turned at night. He returned the favor swiftly with a kick, aiming straight at the other man’s leg, hoping to knock him down in the process. His own bruise was unforgiveable!
”Are you going to run from this, too?”

"Ow!" Jianyu screeched as Bataar's foot connected with his leg. That was certain to bruise, and the action caused him to stumble, staggering backwards only to fall. His hands shot out, keeping him from hitting his head on the hard-packed dirt, but most likely scraping his palms in the process. They hurt, at the very least, and Jianyu glared up at Bataar, resisting the very childish urge to stick his tongue out at the man, like he used to do whenever his older brothers would tease him.
"I do not run away from fights." he answered testily. "When have I ever run away from a fight with you?"
Twisting his body, Jianyu slid his leg out quickly in a swift roundhouse kick to Bataar's legs, knocking him off his feet in an effort to retaliate for knocking him to the ground. Then he crawled atop of Bataar, grabbing his wrists as he looked down at the Mongol.
"Just try and beat me this time." he said, his grip tightening painfully around Bataar's wrists. "I swear, I will win this time!"

Bataar managed to look rather gratified as he finally got in a good kick. He was pleased as Jianyu tumbled down, and made no effort to hide that fact. Things were finally going his way! What he didn’t know was that he was destined to end up the loser in this situation. He couldn’t help but grin, however, at the look his boyfriend sent over to him; it was so ridiculous and full of childish anger that Bat could hardly resist bursting out into fits of laughter then and there. Still, now was time to secure his victory!
Or so he thought.
Jianyu’s denial was rather amusing, however, and Bat smirked, looking ready and willing to taunt the other man all throughout the remainder of their battle. His moodiness had dissipated, and now he was simply concentrating on gaining triumph over the legionnaire. ”Too many times to count.” he replied, looking a little on the over-confident side as he stood there and spoke to the legionnaire. Unfortunately for Bataar, actions tended to speak louder than words, and he had forgotten one very important fact: he was in the middle of a fight. Perhaps it wasn’t even a fight—it was some sort of epic battle. One that he was now sure to lose.
The kick caught him by surprise, and he slammed into the ground, gasping as the air was knocked from his lungs. As he attempted to recover, his wrists were grabbed, and he was staring into the face of a very determined Jianyu. ”A little desperate now, are we?” he teased, his eyes flicking from side to side as he tried to find a way out of his current predicament. He did not want Jianyu to win over him! Bataar simply couldn’t accept that! Still, it didn’t look like any mode of escape was presenting itself.
He was kind of screwed.

Jianyu could almost taste the victory on his tongue. It was a rather nice taste too. He had never once before won in a fight over Bataar. The man was large and muscular, and despite his density at times (or rather, all the time) he was, in fact, enormously strong. He had prevailed over Jianyu countless times, and though he struggled hard and tried often to pull one over on Bataar, nothing had ever seemed to work before. The man was just too strong.
Except for today.
Perhaps it was from all of the blood rushing to his head after being hung upside-down for so long. Or perhaps it was because he had been too busy taunting Jianyu to see the kick to his legs coming. Or perhaps it was just the pure and simple fact that Jianyu was getting stronger.
He liked the last reason the best. Jianyu grinned down at Bataar, arching one dark eyebrow.
"I am never desperate." he said lightly as his fingers tightened around the Mongol's wrists. Vaguely he realized that he was probably hurting him, but this was just too perfect of an opportunity to give up. He let go of one arm to raise his hand, curling his fingers together. "I am just...determined, that's all. You of all people should know how stubborn I am, Bataar Jaoret."
And then he aimed his fist straight for the Mongol's face.

He was a man highly unaccustomed to losses, but clearly he would have to deal with one today. Bataar had failed to find any decent method of escape from out from under Jianyu, and that certainly did not bode well for him. His strength was about to get painfully insulted by this loss, although the oaf hadn’t figured it out quite yet. Actually, Bat was convinced that he still had a very good chance of winning over the legionnaire; the only problem was that any winning was going to take thought. Unfortunately, the Mongolian man wasn’t well-known for actually thinking things out.
That was exactly why he was going to lose.
His own speculations as to his loss wouldn’t start until after it had occurred, and even then he was sure to be fantastically stumped. He gazed, dumbfounded, up at Jianyu, suddenly looking faintly pleading in nature. He couldn’t lose this! It simply wasn’t fair for someone of his muscle mass to lose any sort of fight! Jianyu could see that, right? Jianyu would have to take pity on him! …Right? They were dating, after all, and he didn’t feel he deserved the humiliation of losing against the other man.
It was too painful to think about. Luckily, Bat didn’t have to think for much longer, because the punch to his face hit him straight on, knocking him into the bowels of unconsciousness. ”You are so desperate.” he mumbled as he lost his grip on any form of consciousness left to him. He only hoped he wouldn’t remember how badly he’d lost when he woke back up; the thought of that alone was pain enough as the physical bits and pieces floated away, and he couldn’t claim that the darkness was an entirely pleasant place to dwell.
Jianyu had won at last.
