The peaceful forest was calming, even for the violent adolescent. It was an overwhelming relief to be somewhere with more open space, even if it wasn't his beloved steppe. Still, it was surprising that an area like this was as close as it was to the city. People would do anything for their shrines and religion, he supposed, although he hardly saw the point in such structures to worship in. Bataar ached for his own sacred mountain, where Tengri was said to grant the prayers and wishes of his people; shrines like the one he was near to didn't even compare to the mountain's sheer majesty.

The Lunarian was seated with his back against a large old tree, scarred by the passage of time. His eyes were half-lidded as he let his gaze wander the forest and his posture was languid. He watched the sun filter through the trees, whose leaves were dancing to the tune of a light breeze and listened to unfamiliar birdsong.

There was nothing to hate here; no reason to curse at the birds or the small rodents. It was the other Lunarians who'd managed to ruin everything, not the earth. Bataar's mother had taught him to have a deep respect for nature from a young age, for to be attuned with nature was to be attuned with the gods.

The festival preparations were blooming into a fast paced race against time and in lull of the events Zhongxian had escaped from the busy tea shop in time to find his way into the temple to go pray. His outfit today was the same as everyday, but a bit more formal looking and with his hair well combed and neat on his head. He walked with an acute posture as his eyes slowly examined the surrounding thickets of trees for anything that might catch his attention.

Much of the forest circled the path and made it wind to and from the temple, no matter the way you went. Zhongxian wasn't used to the crossing paths but he kept his composure about him as he walked through the trees. There was very few, if any Lunarians treading the forest today- many were in town preparing for the festivities.

Tomorrow, and the following days after would bring great wealth and prosperity to the forest temples. Pulling in the beads strung around his waist the warrior listened to the nature around him as he continued towards the climbing elevation. Temples were always located at the top of some hill, or monument, and this one was no different.

Passing through an arch the Lunarian took direction up the stone pathway up to the temple steps."I wonder if I'll encounter anyone today." he mused, pulling at the beads a little to tight. The string snapped and instantly he pivoted and tried to save a few before they fell down the steps.

"Darn." he whispered as he bent down to collect the few fallen jewels.

So there he'd been, sitting there, minding his own damned business. And then something had shot into Bataar's eye. The student uttered a dysphemism and stood, gingerly guarding his injured eye with a large hand. He grabbed the small bead that had come into contact with his eye and stared angrily at it, stalking to the other side of the tree and staring hatefully up the steps to the culprit.

Gone was the peace, gone the lack of watchfulness. Now Bataar was pissed. "That was my damned EYE." He snarled, glowering at Zhongxian. The youth didn't honestly care whether the bead hitting his eye had been intentional or not; it shouldn't have happened in the first place.

Impulsively, Bataar chucked the small jewel at Zhong, his eyes narrowed dangerously. How dare someone come along and try to injure him while he was at peace! Now, there were some things that Bataar found unpleasant, but in this situation he just saw things as cruel. He hadn't been cursing, hadn't been kicking, hitting, pinching, or biting, so why had he gotten hit in the eye with this guy's bead? In Bat's case, karma probably really was a b***h.

The bead soared through the air and lifting his hand Zhongxian caught it just before the tiny object pelted him in the forehead. "I apologize." he said plainly with a small bow. He had no reason to deal with someone who seemed to get infuriated so easily, and by the look of this individual- Zhongxian was going to messing with some sort of trouble. Pushing the bead back on the string around his waist Zhongxian tied the ribbon in a knot than looked up again.

"My name is Zhongxian, I apologize for the inconvenience I have caused you." he bowed. His hair fell in his face and when he lifted his hand went on straightening it before he advanced on past the other. "I can take care of nothing until my duties are dealt with, again, I apologize." he said, waving the other in his direction.

There was no reason to argue with the other, and especially not in such a place. The temple was only a ways up the road and if Zhongxian could help it, he would have loved to meet it without such contact.

Bataar glared as he noted Zhongxian's skill in managing to catch the bead; the other male's precision was something that he was instantly bothered by. "And how's your damned apology gonna help out my eye?" Bat growled, an expression of rage flickering over his facial features as he regarded Zhong, whom he'd instantly disliked. Besides that, what was with people here and apologies? Did they honestly believe their little formalities were going to help anything?

"Oh? Well, I'm Bataar." The youth mimicked a lady's high-pitched voice as he said it, mocking Zhongxian. "Your duties?" Bataar spat the question, his green eyes full of evident dislike as he observed Zhong. He didn't think there was any duty more important than Zhong confronting his complete and utter folly in managing to land a bead on Bat's cornea.

Bat saw every reason to argue right here and right now; he felt that Zhongxian deserved to know that he himself was not a force to be reckoned with. The Lunarian didn't care if he looked big-headed to his peer, either. All he wanted was to look tough.

He continued as he pleased, it was annoying, and purely ridiculous. Especially his imitation of the lady- yes, truly childish."If you insist on persisting me until I confront you than I say sir, you have a time to wait. I am not out here to conflict with anyone. Now, excuse me." he demanded, moving his way past the other and further up the temple steps.

The air was silent for a moment, at least, in Zhongxian's mind it was. A moment was too short of one as it seemed as if the sounds of nature and the bickering reply of Bataar's voice kept replying in his mind. "Perhaps, if you persisted more manners, you'd be better off." Zhongxian said, knowing full well that it was a hopeless cause.

Bataar seemed as hopeless as any individual, especially when it came to playing around or avoiding a conflict. No, he was truly a sight for sore eyes - if he hadn't caused them first.

Putting his better step forward the Lunarian kept in tune with the balance in his mind and entered the temple, praying, and exiting quick enough. However, he was hopeful that the prayers could have led to him missing the bickering child that persisted him for an accident.

Bataar's green eyes narrowed to dangerous slits as he observed Zhongxian. The other male just didn't understand the issue, did he? It was more than some random fight to the impassioned Mongol. A few colorful curses escaped his lips in response to the other Lunarian before he chose to speak.

"I don't care why you're here; the point is that you hurt my eye. I'm not going to let that pass without some retribution."

That was right, Bataar was set on his revenge. He listened to Zhongxian in disbelief, gritting his teeth in evident annoyance. "Manners? And where have manners gotten you, weakling?" Oh, yes. He was more than a little pissed off at this point in time. He hated when, instead of just getting into a brawl, people chattered away incessantly.

Bat watched in evident disbelief as Zhongxian entered and then exited the temple, looking even more infuriated.

"How dare you try and ignore me." His voice was venom. He'd been hoping for a peaceful day in the forest, close to the squirrels and small rodents that abounded here. Now all he wanted was vengeance; a direct hit to the eye had been downright humiliating. The maroon Lunarian wasn't about to let that slide.

"I am not trying to ignore you, you arrogant brat." Zhongxian snapped, "If you are as so low to chase after me for an accident, so be it. I am not going to play games over what I didn't mean to do. If you want me to pay for you to see a doctor I will. However, I will not get into some verbal or physical conflict over a bead." Zhongxian turned looked at the other with distaste and fuming disgust as his legs locked in fury. He had only wanted to pray and get home, but now he was stuck here with a raging classmate.

A classmate whom which he knew nothing about. It didn't surprise him though, he tried to avoid idiots like this. It seemed as if the other Lunarian had much more training than Zhongxian did in brute force, but he- personally- could probably out-smart the other with his tactics training.

Pulling the single bead that had been the cause of all this trouble from his pocket Zhongxian looked at it with interest before he walked a few feet closer to the other. "Here, you can keep it." he smiled, jumping back almost instantly.

"Don't treat me like some little kid!" Bataar snarled, his green eyes on fire. He didn't want to be treated as if he were so lowly simply because he was a brawny commoner. This b*****d was facing him with utter ridicule. He spat to the side, his hands fisting, his maroon nails digging into his palms as he regarded Zhongxian with rage. And he was the one without manners?

Bat was damned good at fist-fights, himself. He didn't feel the need for strategy in battle, after all. Strength was everything to Bataar whereas consideration didn't hold much weight in his eyes. He was certainly impulsive, but he had considerable experience in pushing people around along with the physique to go along.

Of course, the Mongol didn't take the bead. "Oh, I have no manners? We may be rather different, but you're just as uncivilized as I am!" He growled in an accusatory tone, looking all too ready to throw a punch.

"Uncivilized?" he laughed, his eyes rolling in amusement, "You must be confused. It was all an accident and you keep pushing it further. You are the antagonist here." Zhongxian pulled back the loose locks of hair from his face and looked at the other disapprovingly. Perhaps, even against withstanding judgment, the other wasn't as bad as he looked had they not come upon this little accident.

However, the situation wasn't that of ifs it was that of a strong misunderstanding on the part of a man who barked accusations towards him. Zhong ran his hands across the small throwing knives to reassure him if a fight were to break out before he turned away again.

"If you'll please, I apologize for what I've done but I must be on my way," he bowed in apology, knowing full well that it was most likely futile. The other Lunarian was more stubborn that Zhong's own father- who had never altered his decision once dedicated to it.

In preparation Zhong pulled the lace around his waist tighter and tucked the dangling beads away.

Antagonist? What did that even mean? Bataar glared daggers at Zhongxian, his muscles tense just beneath his well-tanned skin. "I'm not confused at all. You hit my eye and now I ought to kill you at the very least." Of course, Bat had never actually killed anyone; his words were generally bigger than his actions, after all, but his intent was clear in this particular situaton. He was pissed off and that was that; now he wanted a fight-- preferably a dirty one.

He had no weapons. He had only his fists and whatever skill he'd accumulated while wrestling at home. In short, the commoner could only fight dirty(well, according to the standards of those who were far richer than he).

"Oh, no, I'm not going to let you run away from this, you coward!" Bataar added in a myriad of colorful curses at the end for good measure, moving carefully into a defensive stance in case Zhong attempted to charge him first.

Some might have considered their days ruined at this point, but on the contrary the Mongol was beginning to feel empowered, especially since it looked like he was about to get into a good brawl. That, of course, was very much worth interrupting any quiet time he might have been experiencing beforehand.
