Character description:
A recent graduate of one of the higher class catholic prep schools. Unlike his fellow students, who were accepted based on academics or high standing, Liam got in on an athletic scholarship for soccer. He was not a particularly good student, pulling average to below average grades, and his education has not yet amounted to much post graduation. He is currently between jobs, debating on joining his father's business, or going back to school.

DAY ZERO ENTRY PROMPT:

College or else.

That hadn't been his dad's exact words, but that had been the meat of it. He was sick of his son's indecision, or laziness, or whatever excuse kept him from filling out college applications of getting a job this month.

So, fearing being cut adrift, Liam had caved and started begrudgingly looking at colleges in the greater Delta area. Considering his grades, he wasn't terribly hopeful for getting into anything higher than the local community college, but looking meant putting off the inevitable.

It also meant visiting a lot of college bars, and making a lot of single-serving friends along the way. On the night in question, Liam was grand old time at one such bar, with a group of people he had met only that afternoon while touring the campus of a school he had no hope of getting into. They had just started there fifth round of Superman shots when the lights had flickered once, then gone out. At first it hadn't been a big deal. The entire bar had hooted and hollered, laughing ruckus as they'd waited, but as the minutes stretched on and on the amiable darkness had started to shift.

Eventually people had started to head outside. The streetlights were also black, as were the windows in every window they could see. The only light came from the moon, and by that light they could see people moving in the darkness, hurrying from one side of the street and making their way hastily in the opposite direction. Upon inquiries, those that passed them had babbled unintelligibly before rushing off.

Not long after that Liam had seen the first case of the infection that had spread like wildfire over the course of the next few hours.
