Sophomore Quest: Spar! To keep with the theme of bettering your chances for survival the leaders called for you to pair up and spar!
Quest Notes - Remember only Sophomore Level people can do this quest! - You can not do this quest solo, you need one other person to do this quest with you. - For this quest it's 2 people only! Because this is 1 VS 1. SPECIAL EXCEPTION FROM LIL FOR A FREE FOR ALL - You will be using old Lazar tag equipment against each other. They are old and run on batteries.
HOW THIS WORKS:
- Each player starts off with 20 points. - The goal is to have your opponents points hit 0 before yours do! First person to hit 0 loses!
Step one: - Each of you roll 1d10. Person with the Highest number goes first. - In case of a Tie, Do the above step again. Youngest person goes first, dwi.
Step Two: - Once you figure out who goes first, Roll dice as usual! (2d6-6) - Go in order, taking turns.
Example: - Steve and Bob decide they want to spar! To determine who goes first, they each roll 1d10! Steve rolls a 2, Bob rolls a 5. Bob goes first! - Bob rolls his dice, 2d6-6. He rolls 4,5. To determine damage, add the two dice and minus 6 from that total. So 4+5 = 9. 9-6= 3. So Steve takes 3 damage to his points! Steve now has 17 points. - its Steves turn! Steve rolls 2d6-6. He rolls 2,3 to a total of 5. Whoops! When he then tries to minus 6, he finds himself in a negative number. This means his attack missed! - Continue like this back and forth. ROUND ROBIN. Whomever's points reach 0 first loses.
Rewards: - To complete this Quest all posts must be filled in with RP and one ALL BUT ONE opponents Points have to be gone entirely. - Wordcount limit of 300 per character! - Upon completing this quest Both ALL of you will get 5 credits.
LAST MAN STANDING WINS.
NOTE: Anyone from Uni who wants to play, come in and roll dice to determine order. At 8:30 PM EST THE GAMES WILL COMMENCE~

He looked ridiculous, he thought -- the plastic vest on over the worn mess of his own clothing, the toy gun hanging limply at his side. There had been a helmet, too, sitting next to the supplies he needed for this little exercise, but Austin wasn't exactly inclined to put that thing on. For one, it was hardly any help anyway, just a flimsy plastic strap-on hat that sat on his head and rattled, just a little, the band not tight enough to hold it securely in place.
Secondly, he thought, it was a waste of his face -- and Austin hoped that pretty much anyone would agree with that assessment.
His expression was wary as he entered the room, a battered, empty space in the basement -- dimmed to nothing but a soft glow, dark enough that the beams would show up in stark relief. There were no black lights, which was a shame, but it still looked appropriate for the setting.
It was also spooky. All things considered, with the university in the state it was, perhaps this was a terrible idea. Still, it was better than sitting around and twiddling his thumbs, and it probably wouldn't get him killed.
Austin took up his place against the wall.

Austin's slim and a bit taller than average at 5'10' with sandy hair shorn short on the sides, longer and curly on the top. His eyes, behind a pair of thin wire thick plastic frames with the wrong prescription, are faded green and usually amused; his skin is fair, freckling in sun unless he's careful; his mouth is just a little too full, in a way that appeals to most people.
There had been a notice on the cork board "Laser Tag Death Match!" Liam had assumed it had come from one of the leads, but really, there was no way to be sure. Regardless of where, the promise of a faction wide game of laser tag was too appealing to pass up. Fun and games were in rare supply as of late, you had to take those chances as they came to you.
He paused as he entered the basement, watching Austin a moment before fiddling with the straps of his vest to make sure it wouldn't rattle around too much. "Wouldn't have thought Laser tag was your sort of scene." It was one of those things that just seemed...beneath him. Of course in Liam's mind, that list was incredibly long.

Justin thought sparring meant a lot more touching involved.
He didn't realize they were using guns. guns that would not help since they had no real ones. This was a lesson in learning how to hide better was his assumption of the exercise. That, and the heads to watch them run around like fools from one of the upper rooms with drinks in hand, he was onto you Corey. The gear was aged and still had juice in its batteries which surprised him, the blonde trying to don the battle armor.... that was just plastic. Whee. The colorful stripes meant nothing without a blacklight, not that he wanted one available, he was afraid what they would find in a black lit room to begin with anyways.
The natural wreckage of the basement room would be a most excellent course he figured as he looked around for a nice vantage point. It wasn't paintball, but it still held similar tactics up to a certain point. The point where pain is not involved and that his clothes wouldn't end up ruined after a game.

Harper had a large grin on her face as took a pose with her plastic toy gun in her hand pointing it randomly as she did the sound effects of pew, pew. The little plastic vest and helmet made her look ridiculous but she didn’t seem to care, the entire idea of doing a free for all laser tag was awesome and there was no way she was going to lose. Or at least lose too easily hopefully. She wasn’t entirely sure if she was any good at it but she had some athletic skill to run around so it was more or question of actually shooting a moving target.
“Oooooooo in the dark.” Harper skipped a few steps into the basement before picking a space out on the floor.

"Think of it." Harvard said, adjusting his vest. "-as tactical training. For outside." Of course that didn't mean that Harvard wouldn't camp and try to snipe. Of course he would.

Cecil had seen the notice of an actual laser tag match. He had already tried out the equipment once with Rook and the kid had been hilarious to watch. As fun as it had been this seemed like it would be a lot more exciting. A lot of people meant there had to be a lot more strategy involved.
So for the second time Cecil equipped the laser tag vest that was a bit too small for his torso and adjusted the straps the best he could. With it on and the toy gun in hand he headed to the basement and waited for things to get started.

COREY WAS TOTALLY THERE FOR LASER TAG.
Totally.
In a very real, not-a-filler-post way, too.

Austin thought this was supposed to be one on one, that he was going to be able to kick the crap out of someone in a solo death match. Instead, he blinked, surprised by the sudden crowd that came in through the doorway, each taking up a place around the room. It made him scowl, just a little, suddenly wary of his odds against apparently everyone who lived in the university.
An exaggeration, of course, but it still made him twitchy.
"Hey, I'm...I'm good at Laser Tag." It wasn't even, really a lie. But it also had been a really long time since he played and, in his experience, people around here were exceptionally good at everything in a way that brought down his own achievements and was really ******** annoying. His scowl deepend, his shoulders rolling and his eyes flicking warily around the place.
"So...how do we know when to start, exactly?" It made him shake his head, looking to Corey and then deciding he didn't want to defer to someone else in this particular matter. Not when he'd been the first one to show up. As far as Austin was concerned, this was his game and they were all just playing in it.
"I'll start us off. I'll count down from three, and you can all take off when I say go."
"Ready?"
"Three."
"Two."
"One."
"....GO." And of course, as soon as he said it, Austin went to raise his weapon -- which caught against his pants. Cursing, he tipped his head down to start pulling it free.
It was a word that demanded action that sparked a fire in his belly. A fire to defeat the Leader. "BANZAI COREY EAT SHINY LED LIGHT!" and then there was a mad dash to get the hell out of the cross fire he expected to occur, sliding right behind a wall of tasteful reading playboy mags.
After taking note of Justin's failure to achieve what he'd just attempted, Caroline opted to try to cover his losses. Her aim was considerably better, it seemed, and as she laughed at the great success of her shot, she affectionately ruffled Corey's hair as she passed.
Liam, meanwhile, had disappeared into the gloom. Melting into the darkness with an ease that spoke of having played games of this nature many times over in his short life. Voices helped him figure out roughly where is opponent's were, but they all seemed to be going after each other. Instead, Liam went for someone that hadn't called out yet. Someone that was, at the moment, a bit of a sitting duck.
Sorry, not sorry.
The shot hit Austin from around the side of a barrel, and maybe he'd catch a glimpse of a smug, wide grin before Liam disappeared behind it again.

"WHAT!" Corey shrieked immediately in the wake of Justin's battle cry, trying to dodge his line of fire...but ultimately putting herself right in Caroline's.
Her chest piece lit up to show she had been hit, and she uttered a very deep, very hurt gasp. "Carol! You betrayed me!" She whined, playing it up.
The attempt to return fire was just a little too late, though.
As soon as the signal was given Cecil began to move for cover though he tripped up a bit along the way. The basement was a little crowded and his eyesight wasn't the greatest in this dimly lit room. He stumbled into a hiding place though for his size the small mound of boxes hardly gave cover. He tried okay.
Peeking out over his makeshift barrier he took aim at the first person he saw. "Heads up, Justin!"
