Another day, another set of chores. This time though, surprisingly, he wasn't after anything for Lamya. He didn't have to go and collect sewing supplies, didn't need to check for new cloth, nothing of the sort, which was nice. Instead he was on some errands for Muata. It seemed that the man was on his way to another job with his group and while they planned the job Incanthis was to go and pick up the supplies that were needed for the trip.

It would leave him alone for a time with just Lamya, meaning he'd likely be helping her out as far as sewing went soon enough. Not as though it wasn't something he'd done in the past, having sewn clothing for his brothers, patching their clothing, and other things like that. Upon joining this group though he started to learn to make more ornate things, something that would likely cause his father to roll over in his grave. If nothing else at least all the sewing practice helped out a lot when it came to stitching people up. Healing and sewing went hand in hand it turned out, not that even that would have been an argument that would appease Issao were he alive.

Shaking his head to clear such thoughts he moved toward one of the booths, picking up the various things that would be needed for a trip that would last several days. They would need rations, simple medical supplies, and enough water skins for each of them he thought to himself as he gathered what they would need from this particular booth before paying and moving to the next one.

Abie blinked as he looked around, the male tapped his hip as he thought. This was a new part of the Market. He looked over one shoulder. Did he come down that street...he then turned to look over the other shoulder. Or...that street. Or maybe...he turned to look behind him. It was that street. He sighed as he muttered. "Aqio is going to smack me again. Its not like I asked to get lost...it just...happens."

He groaned running his hands already through his fluffy head. "Okay we got this Abie. We can do this...we can find someone to help. All you gotta do is get that backbone. Come on...." he blinked as he flickered his gaze around. Seeing all the big scary Oban's he gulped. "Any time now...yeah, Backbone. Come on, Backbone...let see that...back...." he trailed off as he watched an attractive male shifter walk past. He recognized the brand as Oban male his Master---no no, Mentor...Abie mentally corrected himself. His Mentor had warned him about going near. Mentally smacking that little kinfa winged voice which told him to heed his Mentor's warnings. He walked after the male muttering. "Baby got back." he took a few rushed steps forward. "Excuse me! Hi there...I uhm...I'm lost...your cute and harmless looking. Much more so than half the people here right now. Can you help me?"

Incanthis looked up from the various dried rations that he was studying when he heard a voice behind him. He turned slowly to look toward the man that was chatting at him, and his his eyes went a bit wide, "Ahhh...?" A member of the water tribe? Here? He couldn't help but to be a little surprised. One would think that they would have all retreated to Matori the moment that they were free. A thought that he realized was a bit foolish on his part given the fact that he had been let go but he'd stayed as well. Not as though everyone had a place to go back to, this man might very well be the same.

"I... thank you for your compliments, but they aren't necessary. I will offer what help I am able even without them." He said, gathering some dried Quhar meat, as well as some various other types, the sorts that he felt that Muata and the others would enjoy. On top of that he got them some dried fruits, nuts, and some crusty bread that would keep for at least a little while. Giving the water tribesman a look and a smile he said, "What is it you need help with? Let me know and I will tell you if I can help."

Abie smiled, cute and humble. Nice combo. He tilted his head as he listened to the other. Nodding he pulled out a list. "I'm suppose to gather this equipment. Usually i'm with my twin...he has a better head for these sorts of things. Ah...my name's Abie." He held out his hand in greeting. "Its nice to meet you!"

The youth's mind was a mile a minute, the male before him was cute. Humble. It was odd to not see bitterness like he did in other former owned ones. He saw it every day in his own twin, as well as others who the two were close to. He really liked those eyes tho...there was wisdom there. Maybe a tint of other things that the youth wanted to see rise to the surface.

Incanthis shifted the basket he was carrying, tucking his own list into his pocket, before reaching out to take the one that the Matori man was holding. He lifted it up, reading it over, as the man continued to talk, telling him about what it was that he was needing help with, and about his twin who was better shopping it seemed. He looked around a moment, a thoughtful look on his face, "Is your twin here too?" He asked in a curious manner. He knew it likely wasn't his business but he was still rather curious about if he was around after all. The twin might very well be missing like his own brothers were.

"Oh! Forgive my manners, my name is Incanthis. It's nice to meet you, Abie." He said, giving him a smile before his attention went back to the list, "The things on this list you might want to..." He trailed off, looking thoughtful, before he continued, "No, it might be easier to show you if you aren't familiar with the marketplace." He seemed to be thinking that over, adding up the time it might take, but figured so long as they made it quick that he should be able to get himself home in time. The last time he was out late everyone, Muata included, had looked upon him in a suspicious manner. He didn't want them thinking he was trying to sneak off again.

He gave him a smile and said, "So long as you don't mind it being a fast trip to the places we'd need to go to? I can't be late for dinner since I am the one that makes it." He would put it simply, not wanting to worry him with the details.

Abie felt himself get excited. Great! He got help from the hot guy! Victory! He blinked. "Oh...yeah...Aqio is most likely getting the food. I do the heavy lifting..." He hummed. Thinking that Aqio must of been done by now. Or at least close to it...if so. Aqio would go back to Mentor and he'd get tasked so hard when he got home. Or at least finally found home...

He looked back to Incanthis. "That's a nice name...can I call you Inca?"

"Ahhh, I see. That's good, very good." He murmured, glad to hear that there were some brothers that were still together after the war was over and done with. It was a thought that he did his to push aside, not wanting to think to hard about it. He'd made his choice, a choice that he'd made for his family, and it was a choice that he had to live with. Turning to look back at the supplies that he was gathering he got out his coin purse, paying for what he'd picked out. Once it was all wrapped up and bagged he put it all into his basket.

"Thank you." He said to the shop keeper, nodding to the man before he turned to look at Abie once more, handing his list back to him, "Come on, the medical supplies that I need are near to some of the things on your list. I will lead the way."

He gave a smile, "Inca is fine, I know that my name can be a bit of a mouthful." His brothers had called him Inca, so did Kalli, so he didn't mind if Abie did as well. It was nice to hear the name again said by kind people, even if this one was likely the sort that he wouldn't meet again after their shared shopping trip. It was as they started moving forward toward the next booth that Incanthis asked, "What brings you to Sulburi?" He knew it wasn't anyone of his business but he couldn't help but to wonder what might bring a Matori man this deep into Oba.

The young water male chuckled. "Awesome~ this'll make today so much more fun. I hate shopping by myself and Aqio is such a grump!" he pouted. He shifted the bag on his shoulder. Well it more like a mess of straps that Abie used to tie the equipment together to allow easier travel. Nodding in respect to the vendor, once that he swore Aqio dealt with before. He followed the other male. "Lead on!"

Abie blinked as he mused over how to answer that. Why was he out here? Well, there was a long and short answer to that. If he went with the long, Abie suspected he would start talking darkly and that would just ruin everyone's day. If he went short, then he would start thinking about the long and well...just spiral down from there. That was something he could handle thought. Abie wasn't one to drag others down with him, no. He hated that. It wasn't that he hated pity..it was simply he liked seeing other people happy. Glancing to the brand, Abie didn't have any thoughts on how happy this male was. So...he'd give him the short of it and keep the dark thoughts bottled up. No use making his new [potential] friend upset.

"Well, the short of it is that my current Mentor is the male who helped me and my twin get our heads straight. He's a Rider, took me under his wing after I pestered him enough about it. So, now I'm following his footsteps. Most of these items are tacks and such that his mounts keep snapping. Aqio is weaker than me body wise so Mentor sends me out to get everything..." He smiled at the other. "Do you mind me asking the same? You really don't have to answer, Inca. I understand sometimes that even the short version of the story can hurt just as much as the real length."

He wasn't going to fool himself. A brand like that...the one who put it there was bound to get into trouble since brands meant: Slave.

"It tends to be more enjoyable to do this sort of things with others, shopping alone makes into more of a chore then anything else." He said as he walked along with Abie at his side, looking over to him, "I will count myself lucky that you picked me out of the crowd as the one you wanted to talk with." He wasn't at all certain what Muata might think about Incanthis conversing in a friendly manner with a member of the Water Tribe but he hoped that it wasn't something that the man caught wind of. If he did there was that chance he might not be able to leave the house again for a while. Not something that he wanted to take the chance of.

Turning as they walked along he listened to Abie as he explained what had brought him to the area. A rider mentor, huh? That sounded rather interesting. Giving him a smile he said, "I've never met a rider before, is learning such a skill fun?" He asked in a curious manner, wondering for a moment what it might be like to ride aside one of the giant beasts that the various tribes took as mounts. Intimidating most likely. He wasn't sure what he thought about letting something with a mind of its own carry him around when he had two perfectly good feet, "I know of the one that makes those items. I've never had use for them myself since nobody in the group has any beasts of burden, but he's next to a booth I visit a lot so I at least know him. I hope he can set you up with the tack you need."

"Huh?" Incanthis looked ahead as his question was turned around on him. He seemed to be debating it for a long moment before he said, "I was captured in a battle what feels like ages ago. After being juggled around for a while I ended up here in Sulburi with the one who would end up my last master... ahhh, both because he's a bit possessive and because all the slaves were freed." Not that all of them left their masters of course, not all of them could after all.

Abie nodded in agreement to the others comment about shopping with another. It was enjoyable, even if Aqio had the worst conversation starters and just kept the negative vibe going. Even if his Mentor barely talked back as he rambled on. At least he knew the two were listening and he wasn't really alone. That's what counted in his mind. He didn't touch the other male but his smile told volumes. "I usually gravitate towards those I sense would be good talking partners. With you...I saw your eyes. You can tell a lot from a person's eyes. No matter how guarded their hearts are."

He recalled the cold cruelty in his first Masters eyes...shivering, he took a silent breathe as the image of his Mentor's calm gaze surfaced. That was better. His Mentor never had any cruelty to his eyes...just a calm which rarely rippled. He blinked at the other's expressed unease with mounts. He chuckled. "Their not all bad...once you form strong bonds. Your mount would never betray you. My Mentor has a Janarim pair as his Mounts. He says that he finds a Rider has easier times with a Mount who feels a home base connection...So. I'm looking into earning a Snaptrotter or Bushi to form a bond with. Maybe."

As he listened to the other's story he nodded. "That I get...my Mentor is my last Master. He took us away from...well. A nightmare. I hope your happy with your former Master...I know mine thinks I'm a brat but...he takes care of us."

He looked to the Shifter. "Inca...change of subject...what do you do with yourself now?"

"My eyes? I see." He murmured in a thoughtful manner, wondering if the whole thing about guarded hearts was pointed at him. Incanthis felt that it probably was and it wasn't as though he could really deny it now could he? One had to protect their heart with armor and walls if they wanted to get through what he'd gone through after all. He couldn't really be upset because someone pointed out something that was obvious after all. Besides, it didn't feel as though Abie was mocking him or anything. No, the younger man seemed kind enough, so he was going to put the matter aside since he didn't want to worry Abie.

Incanthis found himself looking for a moment curious about what he was saying, finding that he rather liked the idea of something that wouldn't betray you. In theory at least. It might sound nice but he knew that Muata likely wouldn't allow him a pet. Pets were messy, they caused trouble, and their place was small enough that it meant everyone else having to deal with the pet. It likely wouldn't be allowed. A shame, he could use something like that he thought for an idle moment, "Well, I do with you luck with finding the one that is meant for you. I am sure that it will happen when the time is right." For a moment his words trailed off, feeling as though he has worded that wrong. It sounded more like he was talking about a lover then a pet. Oops.

Shaking his head he turned to look over toward Abie, giving him a long look, then looked away again. There really was no way to answer that one correctly. Either he said that he was happy, which wasn't completely false nor was it completely true, or he saw the opposite and worried his shopping companion. After a moment he decided that silence was the best answer so as not to implicate himself in one way or another. Instead he merely gave Abie a smile, "We are almost there." He said, able to see the right booth from where they were, it would take a bit of walking to reach it though.

"Huh? What do I do? Well, the same as I used to do before my title was changed, I guess?" Not too much had changed save for the fact that he wasn't supposed to call Muata 'Master' in public anymore. Save for that, and having some coin of his own to spend on whatever he might like, things seemed pretty much the same.

Abie nodded. "It was something I picked up. I noticed that usually a person's eyes betrayed or reinforced their actions. Its just something I keep in mind when dealing with others. You can as well if you feel it'll help you with your companions." He really didn't mean and disrespect it was just something he liked to pass on. A word of advice from one to the other. Though, Incanthis had an amazing set of eyes as all shifters did in the Water male's mind. Abie wasn't going to intrude any further into reading the male than he did just from those eyes. Abie was energetic....not an arse. As he looked around, he swore he caught sight of his twin...blinking he shrugged. The image was gone..oh well.

Abie smiled at the words which left the other. Oh, that sounded more like Incanthis was giving him romance advice and not what the topic was. Chuckling he glanced over seeing that the other male had thought the same thing. Abie shook his head. "I agree. Though. It'll be nice to have a strong bond when I do find them. Jumping headlong into things is fun...but not when your heart's on the line." That could be taken either way. As if he was worried for his life, such as the death strike of his mount. Or worried for his lover betraying him. Which was likely, but the youth wouldn't worry about that. Worrying about things that were beyond his control wasn't something he was keen on. That was Aqio's deal.

His turnaround was met with silence for the most part. Something Abie didn't take to heart and merely nodded in slight understanding. The topic of one's happiness was always a flaky aspect due to so many factors to account for. Perhaps Incanthis didn't wish to answer due to others listening in. He hoped he wasn't getting the other male in trouble by seeking his help. Seeing the vendor ahead. Abie smiled. "I hope I'm not getting you into trouble here. Thanks for the help so far..." he said being honest.

Incanthis was met with a laugh. "Inca...I meant job. What do you do for a living? Sorry...Mentor taught me odd wording when i was a youngling." He folded his hands behind his head as they walked. The ink on his chest and muscles rippled with the movement. Abie knew his body was impressive...the nearby females and a few males were staring enough that the youth confirmed it.

Incanthis gave him a bit of a smile, continueing to walk along, closing the last bit of distance between the two of them and the shop that was selling the various leather tack. It was near to a booth that sold medical supplies, so they would both be able to get what they were in need of at the same time thus saving them time, "It's alright, so long as I am not late in getting home things will be fine. He just tends to... worry, especially if I take too long." Muata was certain that he meant to run off the moment that he could, back to his Jauhar, back to his brothers, because he'd tried to do so once upon a time ago in the past. A mistake that still seemed to haunt him at times, mostly times when he was late getting home after running errands.

"Hm? Ah, yes. What I do..." He seemed to think on it for a moment, "I don't know, caretaker of sorts? I take care of the medical needs of the group, at least those that aren't too critical, I take care of the meals, run the errands that need to be run, and generally help with things around the house." He wondered if 'caretaker' was the right sort of description for what it was that he did. He couldn't really say but it sounded about right to him. He did sort of take care of the wants and needs of those around him after all. Things has been more simple back home, he'd been on track to be something greater even if it wasn't something his father approved of, but the war had shaken all of that up.

Lifting a hand he motioned to the booth he told his water tribe companion, "You can go ahead, get what you need from the merchant while I get the medical supplies that I need, then we can go to the next stop on your list."

Seeing the vendor Abie bounced in place as the male laughed at his energy. The youth recalled him from a visit or two to a different part of the Market. A part his Mentor knew everyone in. He glanced to Incanthis, wondering if he was in a relationship with his former Master. Not that it wouldn't be a cute thing...it just seemed. Abie shook his head. Not his place, nor was this the time. He could jump to conclusions later. When he had the negative scorra to bounce them off of. He smiled. "Caretaker sounds like a good path. Though, you sound more like a Healer. Someone who cares for others more than themselves. At least that's what my Mentor describes them as. I just think their better at caring for others than me..."

He turned to the vendor, handing over the list and getting the coin pouch out to hand over. The Oban who ran the stall was more open minded. Abie and Aqio knew that he wouldn't go out of his way for them, but that he was reliable not to cross their Mentor. After paying and strapping the items in. He blinked at the smaller slip of paper which fell out. Picking it up he sighed. Oh great...he had to get healing supplies to?!? He looked to Incanthis with watery eyes. "Inca...Aqio slipped me his tasks too...I have a mean twin."

Incanthis gave pause when Abie told him that he sounded like a healer, "Yeah, maybe once upon a time ago." He murmured, knowing that path had likely been closed off to him some time ago. A shame, he could really use powers like that, but he didn't want to think about it too hard. He wanted to be content with what he was now instead of fretting over what he could have been in the past. He gave a smile, "What you say about me caring for others more then myself though, that sounds about right." It had been what landed him in Oba after all, not that he blamed others for that.

Parting ways with Abie temporarily he walked over to the booth, gathering what it was that would be needed by the group when they went out on their job. Just the most basic and simple supplies, things that even those with little medical experience could use. Bandages and salves, things that would be easy to tuck into the packs carried by the men when they went out. All of that was gathered up and soon paid for by Incanthis. Once he'd done so he turned to rejoin Abie, not wanting to leave him alone for too long, not when he was without his twin at the moment. He didn't want him to be lonely while he was shopping at least, not to mention that he wanted to spend time with the cheerful young man. It was as he was turning though that he realized the boy was already walking toward him, looking a bit upset over something.

A moment later Abie was explaining to him what it was that had him upset, that being that his twin had dumped more work on him without telling him. He gave a bit of a smile before he said, "Come join me, I will help you find that stuff as well." He told him in a soothing manner, lifting a free hand to pat him gently on the shoulder, "There, there, Abie, relax. We will get it figured out and then you can go back to your mentor and your brother as a hero for gathering all the supplies that you need."
