After her second unchaperoned trip into matori Kalliope was on her way back to her house. Naturally she chose times when her family was otherwise preoccupied with things and wouldn't notice she was gone until it was too late. So far she'd not gotten caught. Or at the very least she hadn't gotten caught for being in a different territory. Now she was skipping down a small path. "La la laaa." The youngling was grinning from ear to ear and holding a small bag that held the gift she had gotten for her friend. She couldn't wait to show it to him. "I hope he likes it!"

Incanthis looked down at the list of things that he needed to pick up from the marketplace today. Half the list was for Mistress Lamya, cloth, thread, ribbon, lace, and the like. The rarer the better, the fancier the better, she was a difficult woman to please but at least he knew her tastes well enough that he should be able to suceed at this. After that he had a lot of medical supplies to pick up, about half of what was left in fact, and what was left was food. He was just finishing up reading his list, lifting gaze from it, when his path crossed with that of an Oban Youngling with bright colored hair and eyes. A gasp escaped from Incanthis as he pulled himself up short, arms flailing slightly, to keep from tipping over or bumping into her. Once he was able to get himself situated again he said, "Excuse me, little one." He said, giving her a smile and a nod. She was a little one, wasn't she? That was about the size that Issaly was the last time that he'd seen him... a thought that he pushed aside, not wanting to think about something like that right now. He took a step forward, paused, then looked around. Was the girl alone? Should he ask her if she was alright? He fretted about it for a moment, not wanting to leave her alone in a bit city like this... but at the same time he had a lot to do and a lot to pick up from the marketplace. He shifted back and forth before he asked, "Um... are you on your own today?"

So occupied with her thoughts was she that she missed the fact that there was someone coming up that she was going to run into. So when she saw the still body she paused in her skipping and blinked before she tilted her head back to look up at who it was. No one she knew. Though she knew he wasn't from here. Or was he? Was he born here? Raised here? Live here? All those questions swirled in her little mind. Kalliope nodded her head to his question. "Yes, but no one is supposed to know. So shhhh." She brought one finger up to her lips to show she wanted to keep it secret. The child then gave a giggle. "You look like someone... but he's darker." She contemplated this for a moment. Did everyone that wasn't an Oban look the same? Or was it only certain tribes?

Incanthis gave a little chuckle, "Oh, sorry. I didn't know, I will be sure to keep it a secret." He said, finding it cute that she thought that he might actually tell someone that she was out and about. Not as though there was anyone he would actually tell, but he couldn't help but to find it amusing. Younglings always were cute when it came to wanting to them try to keep secrets. As she suddenly told him that he looked like someone, though someone who was 'darker' he gave her a curious look. "Oh? Is that so?" He asked, a bit curious as to who it was that she thought he might look like. At the present time he was in his dark phase, so it made him wonder who might be darker then him at this point. Maybe an Oban? He'd seen some of them with darker complextions he thought to himself, "Well, I hope the person who I look like was nice." Momentarily distracted with the conversation with her.

She nodded her head firmly when he said he would keep her secret. Then of course she tilted her head at him as she seemed to still be contemplating things. "He was nice. I met him in Matori. His name was Istanell. He looked a little darker than you." Then Kalli stopped talking so that she could step forward and lift a hand against this boy and test. "Or maybe he wasn't. Maybe it was because the other people were blue that he looked darker." She shrugged her shoulders, not caring about the coloring of the people she'd met. Excitedly she looked up at the boy and grinned. "He was hungry so I traded him my bag of food so he could be my friend and I promised to dance for him when I got bigger." Then she paused to think. She'd gotten a gift for Azure so now she needed to get one for Istanell. "Oh! I should get him a gift too!" Now which was was the market...

Incanthis flinched visibly at the name she used, something that drew a gasp from him, "I-Istanell?" He murmured in a questioning manner, turning to look in the direction that he guessed Matori to be in. Istanell was in Matori? Why? What was he doing in the land of the Water Tribesmen? He turned back to the girl, looking back to her, then said, "I... I see... and umm... how did Istanell look?" He found himself asking in a curious manner. He was curious, he couldn't help it, even if his big brother hated him Incanthis couldn't help but to wonder how he was doing. Was he alright? Was he with the others? Was he taking care of them? He had so many questions... but it was unlikely that a little youngling would know all the answers. "Oh? You traded food with him?" He asked curiously then gave a weak smile, "I am glad to hear that you were able to make friends with him." His big brother could be so serious at times, that he would make friends with a youngling, that was such a good sign. It meant that their father hadn't dug his claws in too deep, nor was he able to suceed in molding him into an exact copy of Issao himself. Giving a smile he said, "I am sure that Istanell would like a gift. I... ahh, I am heading to the marketplace myself if you want to come with me? You can tell me more about your friend if you like?"

"Mhm!" The little red head grinned once more. "He looked lonely. So I became his friend so that he wouldn't be so lonely." She chimed. With this boy offering to take her to the market she gave a giggling squeal and took one of his hands instantly in hers. "Okay! I'm Kalli! Are you gonna be my friend too?" It appeared she was on a friend collecting mission. Perhaps she should rethink her job choice and become a hoarder. "I gave him my food ah-cause his tummy growled but he didn't look weak but I didn't want him to get weak so I shared." A long winded sentence with bad grammar fell from her lips but it explained her meeting with Istanell in a nutshell. "He helped me find a gift for Azure." And now this boy, another new friend, was going to help her get a gift for Nell.

"Lonely? I see." He murmured, then gave her a smile, "I thank you then for making friends with him if he was looking lonely. He probably needed you at the time." That his brother might actually look lonely, it was a surprise, and to be honest it worried Incanthis just a bit. He didn't want Istanell to be lonely or sad... but he doubted the man wanted to see his face. Hopefully Istanell would meet up with some of his other brothers he thought to himself. Much to his surprise the happy little Oban girl caught hold of his hand, something that had him looking at her with a wide eyed look. "Am I going to be your friend? Sure, if you would like, Kalli, I don't mind being your friend." He said, thinking about it a moment then said, "My name is Incanthis, though just call me Incan or Inca, it's what my brothers used to call me." Once upon a time ago. Walking along iwth her, heading toward the marketplace, Incanthis listened as she explained to him how she'd met him and how she had helped him. It was a really kind thing she'd done, showing that not all Obans were quite as domineering as those that Incanthis was used to. She was young and could very grow up to be kind now that the war was over, that was what he hoped for at least, "He helped you find someone a gift? That was very kind of him." He was glad to hear that Istanell had helped her in such a manner, making him wish he could have gotten a peek at him while he was doing something so sweet.

"Incan..thisses..I'll call you Inca." The little girl nodded her head. It was just easier for her to remember. She was lucky to remember Istanell. Keeping her hold on Incanthis' hand she bounced along. "Yep, he helped me. It was really nice of him. I even gave him hugs." Or as many as he would allow. Kalliope giggled. Switching the subject to him she looked up at him curiously. "Do you live in Oba?" She hoped so. Her other friends had been found in Matori so she would have to travel there to see them and that was if they lived there. She should have asked where the lived. Why hadn't she thought to ask that?

"Inca sounds good." He said when she didn't seem to be able to say his full name. It was a long, complicated one so he couldn't say that he was suprised that the little one was having problems. It would be nice to be called by his nickname again he thought to himself as he walked along with Kalli, "Ohhh, hugs, even? That sounds very nice of him and like a lot of fun." He said, glad to hear such nice things about Istanell. How he wished he could get a hug from him... a rather strange thought for someone his age so he sort of brushed it off so that he could listen to Kalli as she continued to talk. At her next question he gave a nod, "Yes, I actually live in this city in fact. Not far from here. How about you? Do you live in this area too? You mentioned meeting my bro... ahhh, I mean, Istanell, in Matori? Were you visiting there?" He'd never been to Matori but now he couldn't help but to find at least a passing interest in the place given that his big brother was there. Not as though he'd go wandering off though, Muata would be rather displeased if he were to vanish again because he'd heard rumors about his brothers. He'd done that once already after all and it hadn't really gone in Incanthis's favor. "So, do you have any ideas on a gift for your friend?" He asked of Kalli as they arrived at the marketplace which seemed to be quite busy, meaning that they would need to stick close to each other if they wanted to keep from losing the other.

She didn't notice his near slip about Istanell, instead she was rather occupied with grinning up at the boy. "Uh-huh. I live in 'Buri. TThe first time I went to Matori was by accident. I was following animal tracks and went too far.. then the second time, that's when I met Istanell you know.. I was there looking for this." She held up the bag in her hand. What was inside was a mystery since it couldn't be seen. "Both Azure and Istanell helped me to find my way back home and became my friends." With the market being busy she practically clung to his leg as they walked. It wouldn't do for her to loose her new friend. When he asked if she had an idea of what she wanted to get for Istanell she had to scrunch up her face in thought. "I got Azure a necklace. Maybe he'd like one too." She couldn't think of anything else that he'd want. Boys didn't like bracelets and such. "Oh, what about a ring?"

Incanthis listened as Kalli told him about how she'd ended up in Matori despite living here in the city, it was a bit of a shock to him, that she could end up so far away because she'd followed animal tracks. He gave a smile and said, "I am glad that you were alright despite getting lost like that. I know it can be pretty scary at times to be somewhere that isn't home." He knew that from personal experience in fact, having been dragged all over the place before he ended up settling down here in Sulburi. He looked at the bag that the girl was showing off to him before giving a smile. He was glad that Istanell that was able to help the girl, "It sounds as though they were quite the heroes." A soft laugh came from him as the girl came to hold onto his leg to keep close, something that he was grateful for since he didn't want to lose track of her, "A necklace? That sound like a nice gift." He murmured, for a moment hearing his father's voice echoing in his mind, that 'real men didn't wear girly jewelry' or that 'an enemy could grab hold of the necklace and drag you around by it' or various other 'lessons' that the man had given. They were words that he did his best to push out of his head, not wanting to think it that man or anything that he had taught them. Instead he merely smiled and listened to her as she spoke, "A ring could be nice too, though it's tough to pick out a ring if you don't know his size."

She nodded her head at him. Kalliope had been fine despite being so far from her home. She could thank both Azure and Istanell for that. Something she would always remember. She even hoped that she would be able to give them their gifts. "Yep! Heroes!" She fell into a small fit of giggles. Staying practically attached to Incanthis as they walked she didn't seem to be looking at much. Her attention was focused on him. "Oh, cuz their fingers will grow." It was then that her deep red eyes went look at her own chubby little fingers. It was likely that a ring wouldn't work since she couldn't predict the finger's size. So a necklace it was. "Then I can get him a necklace just like Azure."

Incanthis thought about it for a moment, then gave a smile, "Well, I know a place that has nice enough jewelry if you'd like to check it out? I have gone there a few times for Mistress Lamya, she is a fan of anything fancy that glitters. Being that Istanell is a man though you might want to find himself slightly less... shiny." He'd almost said gaudy but he'd rather that it didn't get back to Lamya that he'd said that about her tastes, he would never hear the end of her tyraids after all. He would much rather keep her content and amiable since that way the group itself was happier. "It's this way, though if you don't mind I need to stop at another stall before that one to pick up some ribbon and thread." He said, wanting to go ahead and bring her to where they sold jewelry but knew he couldn't skip passed the stall that Lamya had sent him to, not when there was the chance that what he was looking for might sell out while he was helping Kalli find presents for her friends, "Maybe they will have a nice ribbon that you might like? Something to pull your hair back with? When I was younger my mother liked braiding my hair and that of my brothers before tying it off with pretty ribbons." Not that he was able to keep such pretty things for long, he'd had such ribbon yanked out of his hair before by his father in fact. Not something he'd tell Kalli though, not wanting too spoil the mood.

Something not so shiny. It made sense to her. Boys didn't want something that would look girly on them. Even the necklace she had gotten for Azure wasn't all that shiny. It was also simple. Maybe if she looked for something similar to get Istanell he would like it. When Incanthis mentioned that he needed to stop at another stall first she nodded her head. He was leading the way and she was holding onto his hand. Plus she was practically hugging his leg to avoid being ran over by the taller adults. She was a tiny person after all. "Istanell had a ribbon in his hair. I'd like one just like his." Kalliope nodded her head. His had been green though, and she didn't think the green color would go well with her hair. So she thought about yellow instead. "Maybe a yellow ribbon." The girl spoke her thoughts as they walked.
