Absolution by West One MusicMelris Malagan grew up in the slums of Saffron City. He had no family that he knew of, and things weren't easy, to put it lightly. He was a ghetto rat, plain and simple. He stole to survive. Stealing was a fact of life to him. But even through it all, he was idealistic. A trait ill-warranted by someone in his position. He believed there to be good in everyone, that if he worked hard enough, everything would get better. He'd make enough money to pay back the people he stole from, and he'd help out people like him.
When Melris was 10 years old, his life changed. Team Rocket had a presence in those slums, and the cops knew it. It wasn't long at all until Melris was dragged into it all. The cops assumed that someone living in the slums would have connections to team rocket, and they routinely beat up the people who lived there, looking for leads. Some of them did know something, but Melris wasn't one of them. They beat him, but he had nothing to give them. So they just left him, a little crumpled heap in the middle of the street. Beaten within an inch of his life for being a ghetto rat. As he lay whimpering in the street, a girl his own age appeared over him, taking him to safety.
The girl was the daughter of the rocket agent that the cops had beat him looking for information for. She took him to her father's hideout, where the man nursed him back to health. Melris begged the man to let him join Team Rocket. Although the man refused at first, the boy was persistent, and he eventually acquiesced. Melris was assigned the codename "Walpurgisnacht", or Walpurgis Night.

Years later, he was assigned to the Zatao region, and given a rattata companion named Gangrel. The rat was feisty, mistreated by the handler who had owned him prior. Walpurgis gave him cheese, treated him with patience and understanding - they weren't all that different. They complemented each other well.
Later, Gangrel and Walpurgis encountered a purrloin that had been abandoned by a member of Team Rocket. The purrloin and Gangrel became enamored with each other, prompting the purrloin, named Satori, to join Walpurgis. Satori eventually evolved into a liepard, and no problems have arisen with her former owner.
Personality: Despite the hardships he has gone through, Walpurgis still holds his sense of justice from growing up. However, he is no longer idealistic - circumstances forced him to abandon that trait.
Walpurgis hates dragging unrelated people and pokemon into his fights - a sentiment likely gained from when he himself was dragged into the conflict between the Rockets and the police. Whenever possible, he'll attempt to help those injured in his fights, whether they were his fault or not.
In secret, Walpurgis donates half his earnings to charity, and spends time with orphans. He's not above doing tricks for the kids, either, as his training does allow for some flair.
Battle Style: Walpurgis' fighting style is based in certainty, leaving little to luck and chance.

Appearance: Walpurgis is fairly tall, with an athletic build. He has pale skin, long black hair and piercing green eyes.
His entire outfit is black. He wears a tight fitting shirt and long shorts that go slightly past his knees. He wears tall boots that go past the shorts. When on a mission, he adorns a bullet-proof trench coat as well as a mask.
Abilities: Walpurgis has spent most of his life training in combat, and is expertly skilled with daggers. He is acrobatic, moving fluidly enough to match a number of pokemon. Walpurgis is also a trained doctor, and knows a number of common medicinal plants and fungi that can be found in the wild.
