(( This is just after Saya gets her first Pokemon. She hasn't let it out of the pokeball since stealing it. ))
Saya was exploring her new home and had somehow wandered into another large room. This one was unnecessarily bright, she thought as she shielded her eyes.
Two Rockets were already in the room with their pokemon. Some sort of battle with pokemon was going on. Saya rarely gets to witness one, since she never owned a pokemon of her own and no one from her home town battled in the streets for some odd reason.
Saya entered the room to watch, moving silently with her bare feet. She stood in the shadows of a corner, since she didn't want to be noticed. The pokemon went all out with attacks, darting around the stadium. She just realized why people preferred not to battle in the streets now.
Her hand brushed against the single pokeball in her pouch. She thought about releasing her newly stolen pokemon to see what it was, but hesitated.

The battle finished, Walpurgis recalled Satori before nodding to his opponent. A feeling that he was being watched washed over him, his focus no longer on the battle. He quickly scanned the room for threats - anything out of the ordinary - finding nothing. He drew one of his daggers regardless.
((Should Walpurgis notice Saya? I imagine she has some modicum of skill in hiding.))

(( Aww, you give her more credit than I do. Nope, she was just standing there being a creep. She didn't feel like she had to hide because she wasn't doing anything sneaky. She just doesn't like to be noticed. I can make it work though 8D Go ahead and notice her. ))
Just as the Rocket turned, Saya dropped to the ground and rolled around the corner, out of sight. She poked her head out to see a glimmer of reflective metal in the man's hand and grabbed her own pocket knife.
Did he see her? That would be bad. She crouched, trying to be as small as she could.

Hearing a sound behind him, Walpurgis turned to see the girl poking her head out from behind a corner. Recognizing her as a new recruit, Walpurgis put the knife away. "Hey," he called, crossing his arms. "Why are you hiding?"

Saya couldn't see any other way out of it. She stood, but made no move towards him. Noticing that his weapon was gone, Saya slipped hers back into her pouch. She kept her guard up, however, in case he tried anything again.
"I..." She paused, as she had no idea. Actually, it was a reflex. She couldn't believe she was caught again, and she wasn't even stealing anything this time.
"I wasn't hiding. I dropped my knife." Lying came easy to her, but she decided to change the subject in case he didn't believe her. "Your pokemon was cool! Awesome, actually." There was a hint of truth.

Walpurgis gave the girl an appraising look - she did have a knife, so at least she was a decent liar. He gave a noncommittal shrug to the girl's compliment. "Satori is a good fighter, yeah. She's mostly on recon during missions, so she doesn't get to show off that often." He gave a small smile. "So, what brings you down to the training stadium? I was under the impression you hadn't been assigned a pokemon yet."

"Do you mean this thing?" Saya took the pokeball out of her pouch, recalling seeing the pokemon magically dissipate into the same item in her hand. She had no idea how it worked, however, never having held one.
The girl turned the ball all over, studying it for the first time. Then, threw it on the ground hard to break it open. It didn't break. What now?

Walpurgis arched an eyebrow at the girl's attempt to open the pokeball. "You've never had a pokemon before?" He pulled out Gangrel's pokeball. "Here, this is how you use a pokeball." Pressing the button, Gangrel appeared in a flash of red light, looking curiously at his surroundings - he didn't see an opponent. He looked questioningly at Walpurgis, who simply gave him a glance that said "don't worry about it".

Saya watched the man demonstrate the use of a pokeball, and the appearance of a different pokemon. "Whoa, you have another one." The girl didn't know how many pokemon one normally has, but any was more than she had.
She picked her pokeball off the ground and clumsily looked for the button. She practically jammed her finger pressing it, and dropped it in her surprise when it opened.
Saya had never actually seen the pokemon that the tiny purple ball held. She had stolen it as a part of her first mission, and it was granted to her as her first pokemon, since she didn't have one of her own. Realistically, Team Rocket had tried to take it for themselves, but the pokemon was too much for them to handle. Rather than taking the time to deal with the problem, they gave it back to Saya.
A whimsicott appeared and it sounded angry. Then it charged-- at Saya!
"Wah!" she gave a cry of surprise, and dove behind the darkly clad man and his pokemon.
(( Whoops, she's using him as a shield... TO BATTLE!
Edit: Oh, way to fail, Chromatic. ))

Walpurgis' eyebrows shot up at the sight of the purple whimsicott - that isn't the type of pokemon that gets usually assigned to a newbie. Stolen? He didn't have much time to ponder it as the whimsicott rushed the girl. Without thinking, Walpurgis grabbed Saya around the waist, lifting her up with ease, before rushing out of the way. Gangrel leapt down from his shoulder, chittering wildly at the rampaging grass pokemon.
Walpurgis set the girl down as soon as they were a fair bit away, and he called out to Gangrel. "This is a bit impromptu, but prepare for battle, Gangrel."

The rattata's eyes turned a light blue as it dodged the whimsicott, firing a burst of ice from his mouth at the grass pokemon.

Saya was lifted straight off the ground, carried like a rag doll. Her eyes widened in surprise, but she didn't complain as there was a rampaging Whimsicott!
When her feet touched the ground again, she slumped to the floor in shock. She recovered quickly, however, when a real pokemon battle unraveled before her.
Chromatic`s eyes blurred as ice hit her in the face. She shook it off, anger still in her eyes. Whatever in front of her was going down! Her horns glowed, absorbing the rattata's energy.
