.Oct.7th. Everyone give a big welcome to our new shop/RP manager IMBRI! It was not an easy decision, so I'd like to once again thank you all for your outpouring of support! With her super help I'm sure things will be about as close to normal as they've ever been.


.Oct 3rd. A big one here. Noyama has decided to leave the shop. She's staying on as an owner, but will be a silent one. Beat is currently taking charge of the ship, so we appreciate your understanding while things get sorted out.
The currency and bar systems have been removed and should be considered under construction until further notice.

Water. Earth. Fire. Air.

The four represent a cycle that spirals through the years, telling of the origin of the incarnations of the Avatar - the one who keeps the balance between the Water Tribes, the Earth Kingdom, the Fire Nation, and the Air Nomads. The cycle turns and the Avatar is reborn according to it.

There is a book, long covered in dust, lost in a library buried in the sand. It is a single book, unimpressive in a sea of them, but this single book tells a story of utmost importance. It tells the story of a young woman, born four-hundred and sixty-two years prior to the year of the last Airbender's reawakening; born to the northern water tribe and destined to be the next in an ancient cycle. It was an age when the world was, for the time being, a clean slate. Wars and battles had been fought and would be again, but for Avatar Kahamo the world felt clean and almost new - a time where factions could form, nations could divide themselves, and a new Avatar could stretch her influence in order to keep it that way.

And while the book may be buried in some unknown, lost library, it isn't to say that none of it ever happened. Then again, perhaps it is just a fairy tale. A myth of a story written long ago by an author more mysterious than the book itself.

Be it real or fiction, this is the tale of the generation of 'Avatar Kahamo'.

Children: A child's behavior and personality is often heavily influenced by their family and where they live. At this stage those who can and have any interest in bending normally begin taking classes, given they have enough money and/or the connections to do so. Extremely skilled child benders come to be known as 'prodigies'. (Ages 5-12)

Teenager: Teenagers can be as bratty as children or mature as adults. In the world of Avatar, it isn't at all uncommon for a character of this age to be out and about in the world, toughing it alone. 'Breeding' may very rarely occur in this stage and all stages after it. (Ages 13-19)

Young Adult: Not quite in full-fledged adulthood, young adults are generally calmer and more predictable than their younger counter parts. They have a general feel of who is and isn't an enemy as well as who they are. (20-30)

Adult: Full grown and usually having found what they want to do with their life and their place in the world, adults may choose to start and support a family, set up a business or a number of other things.

.Pregnancy.

Pregnancy can occur with a male/female couple or 'fling'. Same sex couples are very welcomed to be parents, but there is no magical way for them to have children, so they must adopt (or in the case of female/female, the baby can be fathered by a male outside the couple). Pregnancy occurs in the teenage, young adult and adult stage. Teenage pregnancy is very rare and in most cases frowned upon, but it does happen.

Pregnancy does not always occur. The only exception is for established (male/female) couples of the young adult or adult stage, who will always have at least one child. Occasionally, pregnancy will produce twins.

As mentioned before, there are 'couples' and there are 'flings'. Just like 'flings' (similar to a one-night stand sort of thing, if you will) happen in real life, they happen in the Avatar world. In the case of 'flings', the chance of having a baby is lowered and determined by a randomized number. In the case of teenagers, the pregnancy is also determined by a randomizer, regardless of if the two characters are a 'fling' or an actual couple.

Teenagers (couples/flings):
A number from 1 to 500 is randomized. In order for pregnancy to occur, the number randomized must be between 1 and 20.

Young Adults (fling):
A number from 1 to 500 is randomized. In order for pregnancy to occur, the number randomized must be between 1 and 50.

Adults (fling):
A number from 1 to 500 is randomized. In order for pregnancy to occur, the number randomized must be between 1 and 100.

.Adoption.

Adoption is less complicated than 'breeding'. They will be interviewed by an NPC to determine if they are 'suitable' for adoption. If it is determined they are, they have the choice of adopting a baby, toddler or child. This character may or may not be from the same nation. They may look absolutely nothing like the adopting parent(s). In the case of toddlers and children, they will already have a name, but babies may be named by the adopting couple/parent. All adoptable characters (baby, toddler and child) will come with a premade appearence and a backstory (similar to the characters from flatsales).

Who can adopt?:
Young Adult couples of any gender (male/male, female/female, male/female).
Adult couples of any gender (male/male, female/female, male/female).
Adult singe parents (male or female).
Young Adult couples of any gender with children (adopted or biological).
Adult couples of any gender with children (adopted or biological).

.Rolling for Twins.

Twins will be rare, but all couples who are pregnant (including teenagers) have the option of rolling for twins. Adopting couples also have the option of rolling for twins, but instead of rolling to be pregnant with them, they'll be rolling to determine if the character they are adopting has a twin. (Note: In case of adopting couples, the roll for twins must take place before the NPC RP to determine if their household is 'suitable'.) The number randomized will be 1 to 500, must be only two digits and must end in 5 (ex. 25, 35, 45, 55).

.Requirements.

Aside from the above, other requirements must be meant. Each character owner must pay 20K, coming to a total of 40K. (This price remains the same if there is a single child or twins). All couples must have 10 RPs for each parent. (If an RP is between the two characters, it can count for a single RP for both of them.) If the pregnancy is the result of a 'fling', only 1 RP need be between the two characters. If the pregnancy is between a couple, at least 4 of the 10 RPs must be between each other. Young Adult and Adult couples (male/female) will become pregnant automatically. Others must be randomized as shown on the chart above.

.What you can do with the offspring?.

Overall, it is up to the owner(s) of the parent(s) what happens to their offspring or adopted child. It is strongly advised the character be given to a new OOC owner, but this is not a forced rule, and if one of the two parents or the singular parent wishes to keep them, they are allowed. In the case of twins, the owners of the parents generally have the same options. They can mutually decide what to do with both, decide to keep one each, or each take one baby and give them to new owners of their choosing.

.Applying for Pregnancy/Adoption.

You have the requirements, the gold, and you're ready to go! What do you do? Fill out the form and send it to the mule. In the case of single parent adoptions, you need only fill out information for your own character. In the case of same-sex couple adoptions, just change 'father' to 'second mother' or 'mother' to 'second father'. A PM will sent back to you either confirming or denying pregnancy, OR confirming a date to be set up for an NPC interview, in case of adoption.

As the Avatar, Kahamo has mastered all four elements. Interestingly enough, her native element of water she actually learned last, learning air, fire, earth and water in that order. That in mind it's not too surprising her favorite and debatably 'best' element is air. She is what one would expect and hope for from an Avatar: duty-bound and dedicated.

Harry Potter has Rita, Scream has Gale, and Avatar has Kanta.

Kanta is your average reporter (who also writes and publishes, all on her own!) in the way she'll do anything for a story, including stretching the truth. Stretching it very, very far. It's not lying, but it almost is. Her ears are radars for gossip or rumors. She's obviously no individual to trust, and no one even bothers speaking to her unless they have something they're trying to get published. The lack of companionship doesn't seem to bother her, or really, affect her at all.

Flatsales: Flatsales are a common way of obtaining characters here at the shop. They are not speed-based, but similar to a contest, based on a prompt entrant's write, which are then judged by usually one or two people. Characters from flatsales are 'premade', and already have a gender, appearance and often a back-story.

Contests: Contests are like flatsales; based on writing, not speed. However, contests occur for custom characters and usually these characters will serve a special purpose in a metaplot or on-going RP in the shop. Also unlike flatsales, contests may have more than one 'stage' or 'phase'.

Auctions: Auctions are always for custom characters or characters that have something special about them. They don't happen often and the starting bids, autobuys, etc. vary from auction to auction.

Raffles: The shop generally doesn't do raffles. When we do have them, they're usually a surprise done quickly in the thread, and free. In the future there may be more types of common raffles.

Customs: Getting a custom slot allows you to customize your character within reason. Having a custom slot does not allow one to get away with rules others can not, however, and custom slot characters are bound by the same rules as any others.

Prices are currently as follows:

Child: 600K
Teenager: 550K
Young Adult: 500K
Adult: 400K

Those who obtain a slot will be sent a form they then fill out and send back to the mule. The character is then confirmed or denied with a request to change something (ex; if you make your character a prodigy without being rolled as one). When confirmed, the form is then sent to the artist.

If you're saying this to yourself, you're probably new to the B/C forum. I'd suggest familiarizing yourself with it a bit more, then coming back.

Okay, so this is AU from the series?
It takes place both AU and in the past.

What the hell does 'AU' mean?
AU is short for 'alternative universe'. AT is short for 'alternate timeline'. Both you will occasionally see around the shop.

These grow really quick. It makes no sense!
Yeah, we know, and as much as we tried there's really no way to work around it unless the characters never grow. The only option we have come up with is just to ignore it IC. xD; Some people also claim to RP their characters getting older.

What's with the occupation thing?
The Avatar world is just like our world. You need a job to get by. So characters therefore get jobs, and then they get money.

What? I seriously have to buy things in character with money I make from a job?
Yup! This isn't just one of those 'everyone magically has money to support themselves!' shops. You gotta work, slackers!

Can I custom a kid into breeding?
That would be up to the artist at the time of said breeding.

I'm sorry you feel that way, but the rules for adoption aren't changing. If you wanna fight that battle take it to the debate forum.

I want twins, but I didn't roll for them. Can I bribe for them?
Yes. However, adding another baby would be the same price as buying a custom should you not rule the right number to gain one.

So-and-so got a character for free!
Yeah, that happens a lot, actually. Many characters have been given away for free either because of dedication or connections the players have to the staff. Sorry. ;P

Before you changed the ages, my character was a certain stage. He/she should be in a different one with the change, but I notice they're still in the same section. What's the deal?
The deal is that we don't want to rip people off by giving them fewer stages just because we changed the age range of them. So, characters that should be in a different 'group' will remain in their original group. At least until they grow.

I have a question, and it's not here.
Ask in the thread first. Lots of times the regulars themselves can help. If not, PM the mule. If it's desperately urgent, you may PM Noyama.
