About :: Perpetually grumpy, it's nearly impossible to get close to Anyu. He considers friends a bother, since most of the people his age who try to get close to him are just interested in getting something from his parents' wealth. He dislikes the idea of earthly possessions bringing happiness and would like nothing more than to live a simple, work-oriented life like the rest of the kids in his village. Despite being a waterbender, his skills are less than amazing, as he refuses to train with a teacher and is mainly self-taught. When upset, he'll completely neglect his training, leaving his abilities at a constantly low level. His relationship with his family leaves something to be desired. Most of his siblings don't take him seriously and his parents rarely support him. His short stature is one thing he's constantly teased about by not only his siblings, but other villagers, as well. One day he hopes to get out of his homeland and see the world, creating his own path and showing his family that he is worth something after all.

The obvious patriarch, his word is law within the house and even resonates when he's on a different continent for a business trip. Amaguq's gruff demeanor often makes it seem like he doesn't care. Most of his attention and praise is focused on Iluak and his abilities, while he tends to be toughest on Anyu and Tunerk. The relationship between Anyu and his father is extremely strained.
Sakari :: Mother, Age 46
Small and rather submissive, Sakari sometimes turns a blind eye to things that go on within the family. Despite this, she's a very loving mother and would like nothing more than for all of her children to get along. Over-protective of Anyu as the youngest (and due in part to his short stature in comparison to the other boys) she sometimes tends to smother him. Even so, their relationship is generally a positive one.
Iluak :: Brother, Age 23
The eldest brother, he's well-rounded in personality and skill. Above all, he cares for his family and, like his mother, wishes nothing more than for everyone to get along. He and Anyu get along very well, Iluak providing inspiration and support for his younger brother to succeed.
Buniq :: Sister, Age 21
The oldest sister, Buniq expresses her dominance through physical means. Often times violent, she's disliked by not only her youngest brother, but other siblings, as well. One of her favorite pastimes is beating on Anyu, assuring that the relationship between them will always remain bad.
Tunerk :: Brother, Age 19
Qannik's twin brother, he's quiet and reserved. He chooses to stay in his room reading over spending time with the family. Originally, he and Anyu had little contact other than family meals. However, considering they share their father's increased disdain, they've become closer and spend more time together.
Qannik :: Sister, Age 19
Tunerk's twin sister, she's nothing like her reserved brother. Despite being only an inch or so taller than Anyu most of the time, she constantly mocks his height and reminds him how much shorter he is than everyone else.
Yakone :: Sister, Age 18
Like many of her other siblings, she doesn't get along well with Anyu. When she's not ignoring him, she's calling him a baby.
Cikuq :: Brother, Age 17
Closest in age to Anyu, they are similar in terms of ability. However, the fact that he trained with Sasha pushes his skill to a higher level. Even after finishing his training with her, he seeks her out. It's obvious he has a crush on her.

She's really timid, but, of course, just like everyone else she thought I was younger. We're the same age, though, and we're a lot alike. I like her. She's my first real friend. I hope I see her again soon."
"I haven't seen her in a long time. My best friend. Can she still be called that? I was surprised when she didn't show up that day. I feel sick when I think about it. I wonder what she's doing now. Is it possible she went to the Northern Tribe on her own? I doubt it, but why have I had such a hard time contacting her?" Ina :: o"She's got too much energy and can be kinda annoying sometimes, but she's not so bad. And I guess I should thank her for giving me a job and an excuse to get out of the village. Yeah, maybe."

Shell Necklace :: 10th Birthday Present
A gift handmade and given to him by his favorite brother, Iluak, this necklace makes a nice clink when the shells are touched together. His most prized possession, Anyu's never seen without it, even if it's not around his neck.
Ice Crystal :: 8th Birthday Present
A third gift from Iluak, this permanently frozen crystal shines with unparalleled beauty. It comes from the same ice cave that the eldest brother showed Anyu and Anyu eventually showed Whisper.
Woven Mat :: 5th Birthday Present
A mat woven by one of the village women, it's another gift from Iluak. Kept at the foot of his bed, sometimes Anyu will make a nest out of his sheets atop the mat and sleep on the floor.
Crane Mask :: Masquerade Gift
A beautifully crafted mask bought in the Fire Nation during the Spirit Day Masquerade. A present from Ina.
