.[About the Waterbender].
[ Personality ]
Tahja ..... is quiet, very mature, and sweet natured. She was raised in the orphanage after she lost her father at the age of seven, her mother had died after giving birth to her. At the orphanage Tahja came to be known as Tai. She always did what she could to look out for the younger children, peacefully settling disputes here and there, and acting as an older sister figure, even from a young age. Now that she's out and on the other side of things, though, she finds herself unable to break her bonds with it. She still visits often, preferring to spend more of her time with the children she'd come to take in as family, rather than most people her age.

Tahja never had a chance to know her mother for herself. She died in the process of giving the little waterbender life. As though that weren't enough of a start for any infant, from the very beginning Tai has always been different among her people. Her hair is a silvered gray, like that of an old woman's, but healthy and strong. Her eyes, likewise, are gray like her hair, a silver color that not even the palest Water-Tribe'sman bears. It seems almost odd that she hasn't developed any sense of resentment over the years.
Her father is presumed dead, after he left home for what was supposed to be a half a day's trip, but never came back. With no other living relatives to turn to, Tai was taken into the orphanage. There she stayed until coming of the right age to be out on her own. Now she's doing what she can to make a living for herself, while dreaming of perfecting her water bending and someday becoming a master.

She does not encourage "sugar-coating", nor does she care to do so herself. The only time that this woman seems to let her icey exterior thaw is when she's in the presence of children and some trustworthy individuals.
