At 5'1" Tara is far from an intimidating sort. Hers is a robust body type more suited for strength and stamina. An hourglass shape, her wide shoulders are matched by her wide hips, and pronounced chest matched by her pronounced butt. Despite the amount of time she spends working out, focusing on weights, there isn't a lot of muscle definition on her and still a round look to her limbs, along with a chubby stomach and rolls. She does have a scattering of freckles over her face, chest, and arms, with a rosy "tan" of someone who burns in the sun. Tara keeps her black wavy hair long, hitting just past her mid-back and usually pulled up in messy buns and ponytails. She wears headbands often to keep back the shorter curls of her bangs from flying in her face—without the headbands, or at least a lot of clips, she's usually got a few curls and waves bouncing around her face and neck. Her bright blue eyes are big, round, and only add to the effect of giving her a baby face.
When it comes to clothing, Tara has a preference for cute and form accentuating and trying to mesh it in with work practical. High-waist shorts and skirts are her favorite, the latter usually with colorful patterned leggings and sturdy boots. Most of her wardrobe consists of pastels and earth tones—and a lot of blacks that remain from her pastel goth preference. Flower prints and skull prints hang side by side, and though she usually keeps to the former when dealing with the public in a professional sense, her style in any non-professional setting quickly takes on a more eclectic sense.
Tara does have some piercings and tattoos. Three piercings in her ears, a nose piercing in her right nostril, and a semicolon tattoo with the circle forming a heart on the outside of her right wrist.
xxxx【 P E R S O N A L I T Y 】
Bubbly, Open, Observant | Temper, Cautious, Judgmental
Each day is met with a smile for Tara. Or well. Mornings that aren't attached to a Monday. Every person gets a smile and warm greeting, each opportunity viewed as a new open door or window. Even if she's not feeling particularly bubbly and sunshines, she's long held the belief that so long as she can push that smile onto her face and laugh, then eventually the bad will pass and the laugh will become genuine again. Trying to keep her heart on her sleeve is part of this bright and perky part of her. She speaks openly about herself to others, and tends to ask probing—though polite, or at least she hopes!—questions to people she gets any prolonged time with. These aspects of her personality can risk her appearing rather childish and naive at times, depending on how people view the behaviors, and she will clam up pretty fast if someone points out this negativity to her. Least until they're gone, then she'll push the smiles right back into place.
She does have a rather… bad habit of judging the world around her on first impressions. Largely due to her belief she's "seen it all." Tara's got a sharp eye for detail, and she's tucked away in her head what different details have lead to different reactions and events. Great for when you're looking for certain animals—tracks, sounds and roughly what they might mean, signs in their habitats, and so on—but horrible when expecting every person you encounter to utilize the same tone of voice, body language, personal stereotype, and so on just as someone else has. Social awkwardness on her part aside, Tara's ability to shove her foot in her mouth when making snap judgments based on these non-universal aspects could almost be considered impressive… in a second-hand embarrassment sort of way. If that first-hand embarrassment from her kerfuffle—or stress, or frustration with work, or too many crappy mornings without enough tea—mounts up too much though, even smiley laughing Tara can snap. There's a reason she tries to be open with people, and hopes others would be as equally open with her. Bottling things up tends to go sour for Tara, in a very explosive way. While she might bring out the swears casually in conversation, it does take a while before even her attempts at forcing cheer fail. At that point, she turns into a snapping, yelling, stomping mess, quick to turn digging words into whomever might have the misfortune of interacting with her in that state.
Of course, she'll feel horrible about it all after, but she's learned the hard way not everyone will just let things go under the bridge, or be willing to talk things out after the fact. Sometimes, snapping one too many times is enough to burn a bridge, and even knowing this, Tara still finds it hard to keep her cool at times.
