Before participating in this thread, please be sure to read this prompt. The Black Diamond is for experienced skiiers only: difficult, but straightforward, a steep slope that Chosen will have to struggle up with heavy speaker in tow. The emergency power source is near the top. It'll be a workout. To help carry the speaker, roll 1d6; this number is how far you manage to carry it. Roleplay out the lifting, chatting to other people if they're travelling with you, and the exhaustion. After you roll, you're exhausted for 3 OOC hours or until two other people post and roll in this thread, taking the speaker partway up themselves. Once a total of 100 points is reached through rolls, the speaker is in place, and you can head back down the hill to the safety of the hotel. Remember, you can only participate in one of these threads at a time, and cannot leave the thread until the speaker has been put into place. Please make sure to put in bold red font, at the end of your post, what the current total is.

After heading back down the Intermediate Trail slope, she'd been winded, sure, but saw no reason to stop and sit in the hotel for a while. She wanted the speakers in place, wanted things to get wrapped up and done... and hoped to make sure that enough searches had been done to make sure people were safe.
At the bottom of one of the slopes, the Black Diamond, Tara found one of the speakers still at the base. Sure she was ready to tackle this rather... large project, she lifted the speaker right on up... but shortly later had to put it back down, grumbling a bit at her lack of upper body strength. Enough to handle her bow, but this? Oi. It was a workout. Well. After all this, she should be even stronger and better with her bow, right? So. Bright side there.

Looking at the trails, Mathilda smiled when she spotted Tara. The girl had run out of their room this morning, and Mathilda had shrugged it off. Mathilda had been trying to figure out which trail to go on, but now she knew.

After scaling down the last slope, she'd debated which of the remaining three to help on. She had a feeling the second slope may have been done with and after, prematurely, walking past the fourth path, she decided to head for the duo that was standing not too fair up the trail it seemed. She noticed Mathilda and another woman she had yet to meet. "Need a hand?" she offered. Not bothering to wait for an invitation, she positioned herself in front of the large speaker and began to push. It wasn't a bad length to get, she felt, considering this was now her third time helping with this plan. Still, they had a long ways to go. "Maybe the gods should start recruiting some of the strongest people around the world," she chuckled. While she had muscles and was in good shape, she did not feel qualified for this type of work. It didn't mean she wasn't going to participate though. Total: 12/100

Tara grinned when Mathilda joined her, immensely relieved not only for the help but the familiar face. "Starting to get why you hate these birds," she murmured after a sigh. "Still would like them more if they weren't trying to kill people but... they're so annoying to deal with."
She'd been about to take her turn again when Mathilda had to step back for a moment from the speaker, only to pause and turn around a bit when another voice spoke up. Not like she'd tell the other woman no you can't help so Tara smiled at the new addition to their little team. Laughed a bit to her suggestion, though.
"I'd prefer the gods giving us magical boosts or something... that'd be neat." Grinning at the concept, she lifted the speaker again and managed to get it a pretty damn good distance before she had to set it down again. They were still a hell of a ways off though, oi.

Rob was beat after helping haul the speaker up the slope, but he wasn't exhausted. He decided he'd help out on getting another speaker in position -- the quicker they got this done and sorted, the quicker they could get back to the Prytaneum, and the quicker he could start experimenting with brewing beer. He was excited about that, more excited than he'd ever been about music, a fact he found a bit peculiar as he'd been exposed to music his entire life. But making people happy with something he could do was like no other feeling in the world. If that turned out to be making beer instead of music, so be it.
Approaching another group, he spotted Tara and that one girl, Mathilda he thought was her name, and another woman laboring with a speaker up a fairly steep ski slope. "I can give a hand with this." He went over to the speaker and hefted it a bit further up the trail. "Many... hands... make light... work," he grunted as he shlepped, then he set the speaker down and flopped in the snow. "They don't get any lighter, do they?"

Ernst had taken a short rest before continuing on to this slope. He'd had to help carry three ******** speakers to the power supply already: he deserved a break, right? He was surprised to mostly see familiar faces, though, and he nodded a greeting to everyone present as he arrived, out of breath from the long climb he'd had to undergo to catch up. "Fancy seeing you lot here!" he called. Rob and Marisol...another girl he'd had a brief conversation with...and the last person he was unfamiliar with, but that was all right.
He watched the progress for a while, then took to hauling the speaker himself as Rob placed it on the floor. His break had done him some good, obviously: he got the speaker quite a distance before his arms tired out again. He fistpumped proudly. He'd only caught the tail end of the conversation, but he responded again anyway. "I think it's the slope, more than the speaker, that tires me out," he said, shaking his head. And fatigue of it kept building, even if he wasn't actively lifting the speaker.

More hands did make light work--even if the work itself didn't um. Want to cooperate in that aspect. While Rob took a turn moving the speaker, Tara stretched her arms and back a bit, starting to feel sore from the whole day.
Well. She'd been feeling a bit sore for a while but. She'd rest once they'd finished all the speakers and people were safe. Probably sleep for a week back at her dorm at this rate though...
Tara gave a small wave of greeting to the guy who joined them, recognizing him from the previous slope. "Slope, distance, weight... all adds up fast. Great workout though!"

"Yeah, great workout indeed." Rob grinned and waved at Ernst, then went about picking up the speaker. Unfortunately his hands were slippery, and combined with the steep slope, he fumbled and dropped the speaker. "s**t!" He leaned over to check on it, to make sure it wasn't broken, and managed to slip and end up face-first in the snow.
Propping himself on his elbows, he glowered at the speaker. "Bloody doorstop."

"The more the merrier?" Cas asked with a lopsided grin as he chased the group up the slope to help. He'd come from a fight with the birds not long ago, and desperately wanted an excuse to not have to deal with them for a while. Metal feathers were one thing. Poisonous crap was another entirely, and Cas had yet to decide if he was entirely okay with them.
The answer, most likely, was no.
He watched as Rob fumbled the speaker, and stepped up helpfully to pick it up. "Fresh hands will help, maybe," he offered.

Ah, a new guy. Ernst nodded vaguely in his direction - although he actually ended up somewhat off-target with the nod - but he only watched as Cas picked up the speaker. "You know, I'm not sure that a workout is what I was looking for. But no one would turn down a pair of fresh hands." Although, neither were giant mythological birds. Ernst furrowed his brow - the more worrying part, for him, was that they'd had to come from somewhere.
Well, whatever. That wasn't something he was gonna think about just now. He bent over to offer Rob a hand. Dionysus bros didn't let Dionysus bros fall, or whatever. Or...stay fallen? "That looked like it hurt."
Then, once Rob had been situated, he reached for his tower shield again, and began to shovel snow out of the way - yet again - rather than helping directly. Sure, it was probably the weakling's task, but despite his impressive stature he wasn't really the kind of guy who did lifts at a gym, or whatever. That, and this had been a large part of getting the other trails done, earlier. Man - if only they could disassemble this speaker and bring it up in parts. Maybe they needed more Hephaestus chosen for that. Ernst certainly didn't think he was up for the task, but maybe Davor knew about speakers.

Marisol had taken a small break as her gaze shifted to see Ernst and Cas had joined them. She must have zoned out for a moment which considering the day was rather impressive to say the least. No time to rest on one's laurels though, as she pushed herself to her feet and went to take another turn.
"Somehow these speakers almost seem to gain weight," she admitted as she began to push. The shoveling sure helped as she was able to get it up further. It didn't make it any easier though not when she just wanted to go relax in a nice hot bath. Tomorrow, her muscles were going to hate her.

Tara was relieved to see more people moving to assist with the speaker--and she'll admit it, she took the time to take a little break, hoping it would help recharge her. It helped a little, when she moved in to carry the speaker for a bit.
"Shoveling the snow is an awesome idea," she grinned, relieved at the slightly easier climb. "The slope itself is enough of a b***h without the snow adding in." As... Rob sort of showed, Exhibit A, when he landed face-first in it. She gave him a sympathetic smile, unsure if he'd need ice--or snow?--for any possible bruises.

Wherever the gods send us next time, she had said. Yeah, that sure was a reminder. Ernst snorted, shaking his head. He didn't want to have to think about doing this again - and yet he'd kind of signed up for it. Well - well, he was hoping for a little more studio time before he was called in again, too. If they were gonna demand real physical labor from Ernst, he was going to shamelessly maximize the time he could get from their facilities, which were in all honesty world-class. "Really - I'd have been okay with this if someone had given me advance warning." Or more preparation. As it was he was still in the same clothes he'd been wearing when they'd been called to assembly, under the coat, and the coat, unlike his mark, was not magical. It tore when it came into contact with sharp metal feathers, which was not a very pleasant thought when it was Ernst's only real equipment against the cold. That and the fact that night was somehow even colder than the day made Ernst a very displeased Chosen.
"Or maybe an upgrade to the marks. Relief from physical damage to my body? Sure, but how about temperature resistance while they're at it." He shook his head. He didn't really want to seem ungrateful when angry gods might be at stake, but from his position it was still difficult to believe that they even existed.
He kept shoveling.
