"Gemmae is terrified of a stallion named Fregit, as he pursues her relentlessly she is forced to flee into unknown regions and naively enters Islagiatt territory. While Fregit is nowhere to be seen she does encounter a rather boisterous male by the name of Fenghuang who treats her with kindness even if he seems a little rushed. It's soon apparent that he has to leave but directs her towards his mother who provides the terrified mare with exactly what she needs, food, shelter and safety..."
Persaeus - Strange People
"Persy is back in the Kawani Province and out to socialise! Unfortunately he gets something he doesn't exactly want and is forced to endure the company of a rather unpleasant mare. It's not that she isn't pity but he really hates it when they whine!"

There he converses with a mare known to be the midwife in question and is pleased to see that despite the primitive methods of the Kawani, she's more competant than most would give her credit for..."

"At last Suppression emerges from her basket and her introduction into the world isn't pleasant. Azumoth rejects her and orders her removed with the assumption that she will be killed by the extreme weather on the slopes. However, unable to act in such a detatched manner as her lifemate, Bella summons her youngest son to find the young filly a more fitting place to stay. Recognising the situation, Sylph agrees to take the petite and vulnerable child to a more appropriate location. She is introduced to Azzinoth who agrees to care for her for a short while until he has analysed what she requires to survive and then she will be moved to a new home according to her needs..."
