[[PRP between Epee's "Sylph Forcas" and Nissy's "Spinel Sun", please don't post without permission!]] The changes were not happening as swiftly as the stallion would have preferred. There were a number of kinks to be worked out, most of which involved the issue of married borderguards. Unfortunately, the Knights of the Claw were a celibate order and as a consequence none of the mated stallions were permitted to continue in its immediate ranks - they would still be borderguards of course and they would answer to him but they could no longer be expected to work on the immediate front lines. It was simply too dangerous, some had yet to sire heirs and the fact that they had mates was a security risk in itself.
Mares were unpredictable, especially when it came to their mates and the same could be said for the stallions if their 'darlings' came under threat.
Frankly it wasn't worth the headache.
As a result, an additional order had been set up to mirror the knighthood - the duties were largely the same, the patrols were unchanged but the more dangerous tasks and the frontline troops were reserved for the unattached alone. What made things even more complicated was how insistant the Alpha had been about the females, they had been taught to fight as well and they deserved duties too. Really, Sylph's most recent days in Islagiatt had been filled with headaches and a little too much chatter for his liking.
Thankfully he had been granted a reprieve in the sense that Ambroise had taken it upon himself to reorganise and sort out the mated soquili. They all had their set duties (agreed by Sylph) and this gave the mutant valuable time to discuss more important and precise duties with his immediate frontline troops. It also gave him the opportunity to meet with aspirants who had requested an audience - now was one of those moments.
Admittedly, the messenger hadn't been particularly detailed in relation to who he was meant to meet and the description of a 'small blue stallion' didn't help him. Afterall, Sylph was monstrous in size as was so everything was small.
Alas, not one for tardiness he proceeded swiftly down the slopes towards the meeting point on the border and pursed his lips. Hopefuly he wouldn't be disappointed...

He had never imagined how quickly everything could come to an end. It seemed almost as though in the very second their children had grown into their adult bodies his previous mate had decided to leave. She had offered no explanation and he had not requested one. If she was leaving it made no difference to him why. It was the end of a moment in life and that was all to him. However, it became quite clear to him that with the mare out of the picture he had nothing to do any longer. Nights of guarding his sleeping mate and children, or days filled with keeping an eye on his offspring had all vanished. Life had become dull without a purpose.
After a month, or perhaps it had been longer, of doing nothing but revisiting old acquaintances he had heard whispers of a new order. It would have been a blatant lie to say that he had not taken an interest in it immediately. With a strong desire to learn more of this order he had sought out one who could provide him with information. He had gotten so much more than that however and had ended up with a meeting to attend.
He had spent the night before camped out within near the meeting point. In the morning he had taken off, appearing to be a rather large butterfly from a ways a way, and made his way to the appointed spot. It had taken him a bit longer to arrive than he had initially intended, there had been more of a wind than he had planned for, but based on his on calculations he had still arrived on time. Landing on a relatively large rock he lowered his wings to rest them and opting not to grow into a more uncomfortable size he waited for whomever he was to be meeting.
He had received no description of the other so he kept his eyes peeled and his ears alert. The sound of approaching footsteps caught his attention and he turned to see what was coming.

From a distance the stallion certainly did look like a large butterfly, Sylph would have dismissed the creature for just that had it not been acting erratically. A soldier he might have been but he didn't want for intelligence and as a consequence he could detect certain trends and behaviours that weren't natural to a particular species. Butterflies (unless slumbering) did not sit in one spot for so long, more to the point their wings lay flat and they always gathered together in large clusters to sleep. He had been told this by his tutors of course, but in years to come he had also seen it - the spectacle of thousands of slumbering butterflies lining the tree trunk had been positively breathtaking. He certainly hadn't forgotten it, the clarity of the colours and the absolute silence were unlike anything he'd ever experienced.
Curiosity and suspicion piqued, he drew closer to his destination and ducked under the last low-lying branches to avoid any lasting damage to the trees. He had little consideration for his own form, the branches couldn't do him any damage but he could tear them to shreds if they were caught in his horns. It was unavoidable that he should have to stoop and certainly an irritating thing for the stallion on a personal level but he had long since come to realise that a monstrous size had it's advantages - though they weren't often obvious unless in combat.
It became apparent very quickly from that point on, that the butterfly was not a butterfly. On the contrary, before him stood a soquili with butterfly-esque wings. His brow furrowed a little at this and he lowered his head just a little more. He couldn't stoop any further and he certainly wasn't about to lie down but he didn't need to get a closer look at the soquili. He was certainly blue but 'small' didn't quite cover it, he was minute! His lips pursed and he made a mental note to chastise his messenger, next time he wanted a very precise description, when the messenger had said small he thought 'pony', not 'flutter'.
"You are my next appoinment," he stated rather than questioned, pausing to give the male the opportunity to dispute this and inform him that he was a mere passerby. Admittedly Sylph hadn't been prepared for one so small but he was not about to toss him to the side based on his size, there were uses for every shape and size of soquili - Sylph was not against taking advanatage of that. "If this is to be the case I would request you find a high tree branch, I do not desire a creak in my neck."

As Spinel Sun laid eyes on the approaching soquili he got the distinct impression that this was who he was meant to be meeting with. He also got the feeling that he had not been told who he was to meet out of a fear that a description may have spooked him. While he was not spooked he was certainly a little taken aback. To say that the approaching stallion was larger than he could have been considered an outright lie. In his flutter size he was dwarfed by any soquili but that was easily remedied by a size change. Spinel had the impression that even in a more normal soquili size he would still seem quite tiny in comparison.
Still, as the other drew closer to better observe him Spinel did not balk. Rather he did his best to look the other straight in the eye, which proved to be a bit difficult in his current size. As the other spoke the flutter found his wings vibrating ever so slightly from the sound or breath of the other he wasn't sure. At the request to perch himself someplace higher he nodded his head. "Of course." It was not his intention to cause the other such discomfort, after all.
With very little effort he beat his thin wings quickly and took off. With his legs tucked slightly under his body and his tail streaming out behind him he sought out a perch that would put him just about at eye level with the other. It didn't take him long to locate such a place and noiselessly he landed on it. "I assume this position will be more suited for our purposes." He didn't wait for an answer to rest his wings but he did not settle into a more relaxed position. If it was not good enough he would need to select another spot. There was no point in wasting time and energy in getting more comfortable if one was only about to depart again. If it was suitable then he would would settle and only then.

Gratitude flickered into the stallion's eyes as the flutter promptly leapt from its perch and found a more appropriate place to rest. While it wasn't the highest of branches, Sylph could lift and hold his head properly while gazing down. It was unavoidable that he would have to look down his nose at the flutter but he had faith that the tiny stallion would recognise that it was not deliberate. Sylph could look rather pompous and aloof when he chose to but such a demeanour was not fitted to interviews; no, it was more suited to diplomatic meetings with more awkward acquaintances. He was speaking from experience in this regard and he had to be honest when he said that he found the cold act to be rather uncomfortable.
He was disciplined, he wasn't an a**!
"You have my thanks," he spoke after a few moments and heaved a soft sigh, sucking in the air through flared nostrils as he gathered his thoughts. He truly hated interviews, they were generally a waste of time and he had only so much patience for the idealistic children. Fortunately, while Spinel was small his age and weather-beaten features were visible - they were difficult to see, but they were most certainly there. Spinel was no young buck and Sylph would put good money on the fact that he had thought this through. Still, the fact that his own secretary had left much of the information vague made things just a little awkward...
"I must extend my sincerest apologies, my secretary did not provide me with your name or the specific reasons for requesting an audience," he began. Clearing his throat, he flashed a rather wry smile to indicate that his secretary seemed to make a habit of this sort of nonsense. "You may know of my Order but I suspect you are not aware of a number of bits and pieces. Allow me to introduce myself, I am Sylph Forcas and my primary duty is to oversee the Order which you have expressed interest in..."

Spinel nodded his head slightly at the others words of gratitude. It was no trouble at all for him to move from one place to another after all. With the understanding that his current location was suitable he took a few moments to settle in. He did not sit or lay down, that would show boredom and that he was really expecting nothing from their meeting. Instead he lowered his wings to rest against his back and shifted into a more relaxed stance. It was more comfortable to stand in this way and since he didn't get the feeling that he would need to take off anytime soon.
The larger stallion's words confirmed his suspicions. This was going to be a longer meeting indeed.
He listened intently as the other spoke of his secretary Spinel Sun smiled inwardly. It had not been that horse's fault that Sylph Forcas, as the stallion called himself, did not know his reasons for requesting an audience. Spinel really had not given much of one to begin with he couldn't explain why his name had not been passed along the grape vine however. He took no offense to this, his was a rather unusual name he supposed.
"Sylph Forcas, I am known as Spinel Sun and you would be correct in your assumptions." The tone in his voice was serious and rather business like because in some small way this was business for him. It was something like seeking a job although it was not nearly as simple. He chose not to make any comments on his specific reasons for joining as of yet, they didn't seem all that important. Instead he focused on things he needed to know. "And what would these 'bits and pieces' include?"
