Dust. Dust, and dirt and heat and just plain air. It pressed at him, made his scales itch and flake, his fins wither and he could actually feel the water being siphoned slowly from every pore.
Summer. He hated Summer. He hated summer to a degree it probably didn't warrant, but when you were a horse-fish who couldn't every quite get all the way in the water, you were--or at least should be permitted to loathe something to such an extent, and so did so. Spring was one thing, humidity at least provided a wet, if nearly unbearable itself, heat, but Summer...Summer was just dry, and quite frankly, more of a pain than it was worth to bear.
It was for this reason that he was plodding along the tiny trail he'd created from traveling this way back and forth quite a bit over the past few years, and headed off toward the best solution for this type of thing. The Sea. Well, the Ocean to be more accurate, but 'Sea' had a special sort of ring to it, and quite frankly he didn't really care what it was supposed to be called, it was cool, and relaxing, and wet, which was all he culd really ask for at the moment.
