The deep chocolate coated mare made her way carefully through the thick underbrush, her expression, furrowed into a mask of puzzlement as she looked about.

"Honestly, I could have sworn it was here..." She mumbled quietly, choosing her steps carefully as she looked, her excessively large mane making a point to flop into her eyes each time she swung her head a certain way, which only prompted her to jerk her head to force it from her vision again. The cycle repeated every few moments, clearly a sort of routine motion.

"I haven't gotten lost, have I?" she questioned quietly to herself, pausing to review just where she had started and which direction she had gone. "No, I don't think so, so by all rights it should be right around here!" She cast her head about once more, hoping she'd finally see the darn thing.

"Oh, really, this isn't fair, you know!" She chided no one in particular, "I'm sure you have much better things to do than hide berry bushes from me; it isn't as if I'm going to take more than I should!"

The Kawani lands had reached his expectations in so far as they had embraced the Cerynei with as much enthusiasm and love as he had promised. As of yet there were no reports of unrest or violence against his kin and a few had even gone so far as to produce offspring with the native soquili! The prince was content in this and drew strength from the knowledge that the risk he had taken had paid off - the gods knew he would have struggled to endure the guilt if his kin had been treated with hostility. It had been a few years now since they had settled and in this time Kozue had maintained the same rountine. It was much the same as the one he had kept in his homeland with the exception that his patrol route was considerably shorter based on the territories that others currently possessed.

This afternoon was of no exception and he drifted through the forest with his usual unreadable expression resting upon his chiselled features. His kind were well known for their grace and one would have said they seemed to 'glide' through these regions. His cloven hooves scarcely made a sound and every so often he would pause and swivel his ears here and there. His morning had been reasonably quiet up until this point and disturbances were not necessarily something he was accustomed to as of late so one could forgive his mild surprise when he caught wind of another in the area. Moreso when it became evident that the female was in a somewhat disagreeable mood for whatever reason she may have deemed suitable.

Curiosity had never been something to plague him, but a sense of duty was a hassle. The possibility that the mare could have been in need of assistance had not evaded his senses and after a short pause he permitted himself to move towards the sound. She lulled into silence of course, making it considerably more awkward to locate her and when he had assumed she had ceased in her musings he heard her again this time with much more clarity. In fact it appeared he was close enough to hear her reason for such 'unrest'.

...She was exasperated about losing berries?

Ensuring that his expression gave no measure of amusement of puzzlement at her chosen reason for such frustration, he slowly pushed his way through the undergrowth and broke between two trees to reveal himself. Halting a few feet away to grant her the personal space she deserved, he perked his ears and observed her for a few moments. Frankly, social encounters such as this were not his forte and he could be excused his initial hesitation. Afterall, in some cultures an angry female was a deadly one!

"I do not think they would hide your berries, m'lady. Perhaps this spot merely looks similar to the one you frequent?"
