Blossom didn't like rain. It wasn't bright, it wasn't happy and above all else, it was wet. Therefore it wasn't surprising that Blossom was spending this rainy day trekking through the woods in the hopes of finding a cave to dry off in. The only thing she could say for the trees around her was that they kept her somewhat drier than just being out on the plains would.

Forests weren't one of her favorite places either. There wasn't enough sunlight filtered down to allow for beautiful flowers.

In short: today was a bad day for Blossom. She wasn't very good company and she knew it.

[[Psst, it's "Persaeus" btw. <.<]]

Persaeus was never one to fuss over the weather, there were benefits to be had regardless of it. In fact, on many occasions the weather catered to his needs rather well. There was always a mare who thrived in the sun, there was always a mare who needed shelter from the rain and if it was snowing... Well, mares were definitely more than happy to snuggle up for warmth during that period! Therefore, if Persaeus were to complain about the foul weather it would have been highly inappropriate, it had it's uses and despite his absence from the Kawani lands in recent months he had not lost this mind set.

This afternoon he found himself at a bit of a loss, with little to motivate him, he had opted to wander here and there as he adjusted to the changing seasons. The weather was getting colder and as a consequence there was a n** in the air he was going to have to adjust to. His winter coat would come in time, but there were moments when he wished it was here now! Suffice to say, that n** was making him a tad sluggish and inspiration was as thin on the ground as company was.

How unfortunate...

Alas, heaving a sigh he continued onwards. Never one to admit defeat at the first hurdle he trooped on through the forest and after a moment or two, permitted a whistle to escape through his parted lips. He was in for a long day - he was beginning to see the sense in his brother sleeping the majority of it, being sloth like had it's benefits at moments like this!

Blossom's thoughts were focused on her misery when she heard a low whistle nearby. It was hard to tell over the rain, but it sounded like a whistle. Which meant there was someone else around! And someone else to talk to would help take her mind off of how bad a day it was.

The pink mare turned around in a circle, trying to spot the other. To her surprise, he was about as easy to spot as she was, being a bright red that stuck out in the wet, dying forest. Bright colors seemed to be a good omen at the moment, so Blossom decided to call out to the stallion.

"Hello there!"

"Oh dear spirits, I love you so..." he murmured softly as the female voice reached his ears. His pale eyes went heavenwards and he provided the spirits with a bemused smile that was reserved only for them. He adored it when they did this, when they gave him such gifts and favoured him so well. Rarely had they thrust him into a position where he was grossly uncomfortable and unhappy with his lot. Certainly, they had never seen fit to abuse his family the way some others had been tortured - they had their minor hiccups now and again but for the most part they led very pleasant lives (him especially); and now, just when the day seemed to present him with nothing of interest they gifted him with the presence of another. More importantly, they gifted him with the presence of a female.

"You spoil me rotten," he added slyly and this in mind, placed a supercilious smile upon his lips. His brow lifted and he didn't even pause in his stride as he approached the mare. it was clear from the outset that he was confident and secure, his steps were decidedly firm and his head held in the proudest (if arrogant) of manners. His whistling had ceased of course, now that he was requried to talk it was impossible to whistle and talk at the same time - or rather, it was impossible for him given there were no large gaps in his teeth for the air to rush through.

...He'd seen it happen before, usually on males. It made him laugh.

He was horrid and he knew it.

Mares love it.

He shrugegd loosely at his own very brief internal monologue and shooed it to one side as he finally came to a halt, observing the pink mare with renewed interest now that he was closer. She was rather petite but her colouring was rather exotic in comparison to everything he had seen for quite some time. Interesting, she almost looked like some sort of treat!

"Fine weather, we're having," he replied and cocked his head to the side. He always hated when the ninnies discussed the weather, but there was nothing like sarcasm to kick off the introductions. If she had any sense of humour, she'd figure things out!

The pink mare snorted, shedding droplets of water everywhere, only to have them replaced by more from the unending stream trickling out of the sky. And on the subject of rain, it really wasn't her preference to talk about the weather - at least, not when it was so disgusting out.

"Fine weather, sure, if you like being as dry as a kelpie or mer," she replied dryly. "I, on the other hand, perfer my weather to be somewhat...drier." Blossom arched an eyebrow in the stallion's direction. As much as she enjoyed flirting, she had her limits, and flirting in the rain was much less enjoyable than flirting on the way to somewhere dry. Somewhere dry and...away from prying eyes.

With the way her luck seemed at times, someone who knew her father would probably come along and ruin everything if they stayed out here.

Persaeus inwardly winced at the negativity he was greeted with. The stallion had always been aware that there were negative mares in the world, he'd met his fair share. Unfortunately they weren't his preference, he'd still seduce them if he felt they were pretty enough to be worth it but on the whole they were ridiculously boring and more work than they were worth. Despite these musings his expression remained passive and he merely regarded her with something akin to amusement in his eyes - he rather liked Kelpi, they had their limitations but some were rather beautiful and to have her link them with something she disliked...

It was unavoidable, he simply wasn't in the mood to deal with the negativity in a manner more fitting a casanova. He'd been away for a while now, the first mare he bedded in the province on his return wasn't going to be this one. Unable to resist the urge, his lips creased into a sly smile and he shook his head slowly.

"Then you live in the wrong place," he pointed out loftily and with a well practiced flick, he pointed his tail to the east where the deserts lay beyond the mountain. For all intents and purposes, his actions and words were on parr with dismissal. "The desert is that way, if you are so desperately inclined towards a more warm climate," he offered. He was well aware of his cheek but it was a part of who he was, he could be polite when he truly needed to be but why bother in this circumstance? Knowing his luck, the second he got her to a dry spot she'd complain for the next six hours about how clogged up and soaked her fur was.

No thank you - he preferred the more spontaneous sort!

Blossom raised an eyebrow at the red stallion. "It is only the rain I dislike," she felt compelled to point out. "Snow is preferable, particularly as the year winds down."

She began pacing around the other Soquili, taking care to pick her hooves up clear of the mud, to arch her back, and otherwise show off her charms. As she completed her circle, she stopped and winked at him. "I very much doubt that I'll come across such handsome specimens of stallions in the desert.

The damage had already been done and the stallion did nothing more than life a brow in the most supercilious of fashions. Her little huff of negativity had done nothing for his mood and her attempts at recovery? Well, those were strained at best - she was bound to have an affect on the more simpering males and he was sure she had wooed many of them into forgiving her for her transgressions but he had received a little more experience in that department. If he was entirely honest, his sister gave him all the womanly experience he needed when it came to how utterly unpredictable they were and how horrendous the headaches could be if he took them seriously. No - he had learnt long ago to look at mares in a much more simplistic light.

...If they were negative when he first met them, then they were going to be negative and incredibly irritating at a later date!

"Your flattery lacks creativity," he replied coolly. He made no measure to be the saving grace of his own gender, he was firm in his belief that he was an image of perfection. However, he also failed to express any suitable level of gratitude despite her attempt to recover the situation. Snow his a**, he'd bet good money that the mare would be weeping about how chilly the damn stuff was when she wasn't in the company of a male. At one point he would have been more than happy to keep her warm but he really wasn't inclined towards her sort. A little judgemental perhaps, but it got him by in life and he wanted for nothing! He'd find another mare later... one that didn't utter negative phrases the second she was in the company of another or recoil in horror at the prospect of getting her hooves muddy.

"And your attempt to recover this rather sorry state of affairs is nothing short of dire," he shook his head and gave a dismissive sort. There was something to be said for being a womaniser, it did provide at least a small level of immunity against such blatant charms (even if a part of him did muse over seducing her just for giggles).

Blossom raised her eyebrows. So...he was a professional flirt, eh? Well then, that made things much more difficult. What was the next move to be, since the ball was clearly in her court.

The pink mare sighed artistically. "Such cruel words, when I've done nothing at all to you."

She turned to go and looked back over her shoulder. "If you happen to see a stallion who is less judgemental, perhaps you'll let me know."

"Nothing to me?" Persaeus gave a snort and rolled his eyes. "My dear, you have completely ruined my morning with your negativity," he pointed out calmly and shook his head. He schooled his features into a more unreadable expression and fixed his gaze on the mare as she made her next move, alas it was not a move he would have applauded but he was sure it worked on plenty of other simpering stallions. Ah yes, the pink mare was perfectly capable of manipulating any unsuspecting or naive simpleton that stumbled upon her path - in a way he almost pitied them but on the other hand he supposed she was providing a public service by permitting them to encounter such a female. It wasn't really something that he needed to dwell on for too long though, such musing were reserved for those who were more idle!

"Rest assured I shall send any simpering and spineless male your way," he replied courteously, a small smile twisting and distorting his lips. It most certainly wasn't genuine but he was passed the point of caring, the pair had definitely not fallen into the comfortable jesting environment he had wished for after all. Instead she had whined about the weather and he had grown bored the instant she had spouted such nonsense; he didn't mind a pampered mare now and again but he preferred them more spontaneous and capable of seeing the benefits to such horrible weather!

Spontaneity was something he deeply appreciated.

"I suspect that is the only type of stallion you are capable of charming anyway, anything worth it's salt would find something with more spark," with that he uncoiled his tail from around his hind leg and flicked his gaze to the left. He could see the forest's edge from here and the drizzling rain, the canopy provided reasonable shelter but he knew that the second he went out in that he would be absolutely drenched. Peachy! Now, the question still remained - did he go for the 'weather beaten puppy' look or the more battle hardened and 'Mr Darcy' look? It was a difficult choice to make but in his given mood he rather felt the need to be pampered!

"Weather beaten puppy it is," he mused moreso to himself than for her benefit.

Blossom's eyes narrowed. And to think she'd even tried on this self-centered b*****d! Not only was he immune to her charms, but he was insulting too!

Very well. There were plenty of other Soquili in the forest, and she needn't waste her time on this one.

"If you must be so cruel, then I must bid you adieu," she replied coldly, twitching her tail in annoyance and turning away, heading back towards the depths of the forest.
