Nationality:Irish/Greek Year: 2 Name: Aglaia Caitriona Halloran Age: 13 Day of Birth: Oct. 31st Pronounciation: ə-GLAY-ə. kah-TREE-na. Meaning: Means "splendour, beauty" in Greek. In Greek mythology she was one of the three Graces or Χαριτες (Charites). Irish form of Katherine. Halloran=From the Gaelic Ó hAllmhuráin meaning "descendent of hAllmhurán". The given name hAllmhurán means "stranger from across the sea". House: Gryffindor Blood Status:Half Blood Wand: Hawthorne, dragon heartstring core, 13 inches, quite springy Wand Hand: Right More About Wand: Hawthorn – Hawthorn is one of the three sacred Irish trees (along with Oak and Ash) and its wands have what could be considered a dual personality. They produce strong spells for those to which they belong. Equally effective for Dark magic as it is for good, the possessor of this wand has the potential to wield great power. The duplicity of legend runs deep in the wood of the Hawthorn and therefore it is excellent for protective and defensive magic as well as Charms. Those who possess this wand usually have strong powers of divination and heightened intuition. Hawthorn’s personality is passionate.
Wands with Dragon Heartstring cores are excellent for hexes, or for dueling, not to mention fire magic. They tend to choose a witch or wizard who is strong not only physically, but also emotionally, and who usually has very strong opinions on things, though they often tend to be strong willed and thickheaded as well
Manner of Dress: She dresses for comfort, not for how it looks. Voice Style She's got an irish lilt to her voice so she sounds like she's singing sometimes when she's talking. Sexual Orientation N/A Personality: Confident- Aglaia is very sure of herself and what she is capable of. She's satisfied with who she is and doesn't really pay mind to people who say otherwise. Her self worth is not tied up in what she has or what other people think.
Fierce- She is fiercely protective of her fellow house mates and friends, she won't allow others to put them down or get away with bullying them. If she's challenged she'll accept, she won't walk away from any fight. She sees that as being weak. This can at times prove to be bad for her, especially when there is a group of kids that could gang up on her.
Obstinate- Aglaia is as stubborn as a mule, seriously. When she makes up her mind about someone or something no amount of reasoning will change her mind. Any sort of sudden change is hard for her to accept. She will need a lot of time and exposure to an idea or new place before she can come to accept it.
Boy crazy- She can often fixate on a boy and follow him around, discretely of course, for ages before actually letting him know she likes him. When she's obsessed with a boy her grades, other activities and friendships will suffer greatly because of all the time she's spending following him around. She can often become stalker like if the boy doesn't return the feelings.
Habits: Gnaws on her fingernails when she's nervous. She grinds her teeth at night or when she's angry. The noise can be very noticeable. When she's in a particularly happy mood she'll go around and smell random kid's hair.
Hobbies: Making jewelry, her mother sends her new materials whenever she runs out. She mostly makes them for friends or people she likes. She knits a little of everything. She's just started trying to knit socks. She likes to write poetry when she has spare time. She likes to give and get makeovers, she usually gives herself some when she wants to attract boys she likes.
Dislikes: Peaches, being ignored, bullies, Being stuck indoors because of bad weather, pesky little brothers, heights.
Favorite Class: Divination, She actually has a talent for it, much to her surprise. She supposes it's because of her heritage. It can sometimes scare her with how accurate it is.
Worst Class: Potions, she just can't seem to get them to come out right. She somehow tends to hurry through mixing potions..and often makes them explode.
Greatest Treasure: Her knitting needle set her mother and Great Great Aunt gave her. It's got circular needles (for hats), double pointed needles (For socks and hats) and long ones for scarves.

History
Born in mid morning on the day of Halloween to mixed blood parents, the dark haired green-gray eyed baby was dubbed Aglaia Caitriona Halloran. She was rather big for Hollis' first child at 10 pounds 6 ounces and was 13 inches long. At first Nyle Halloran thought she might be showing off some of the giant blood that was in his ancestry, but when she didn't grow at an exceeding rate it was decided she was just a big baby.
She was not an easy first child for the new parents. She was constantly fussing and never really slept the whole night through. It wasn't until she hit 14 months that she began to sleep long periods of time. As a toddler she was constantly butting heads with her parents and was very willful. She never did understand the concept of "No" very well.
As she got older however, she mellowed out. She wasn't as demanding or as hyper. She would spend more time cuddling and being close to her parents, when at first she'd struggle to get away from them.
When she turned three and a half, her mother discovered she was pregnant with twins. Aglaia actually liked the idea of having siblings and would spend hours sitting with her head on her mother's stomach and trying to listen for any movements they might make. She'd even insist on singing to them and making her mother not move at all. She did her best to "care" for her mother when she was bed ridden for the last two months.
When her brothers were born and she saw them for the first time she was in awe. She'd touch their soft heads gently and croon songs to them to calm them down. She was a constant helper to her parents for the next year or so. Around the time they began to walk and get into her things she lost interest in them and started doing more stuff on her own.
She started school that fall and turned six a few month's later. She excelled rather well in making friends and did pretty well in class. She often would get in trouble for being too rough with the other kids or getting mad at kids who changed seats too often. She would also get in trouble for being too over affectionate with the boys in her class.
At nine years old, she started showing signs of having magic. If she got upset things in the room would explode or suddenly fly across the room. Her parents hated to withdraw her from a school that she loved but knew that it would only get worse. Thankfully she realized what was going on because her parents had always been up front with her about Magic.
She ended up attending classes with five other kids in the village to finish her elementary years. They like her, were starting to show signs of magic and couldn't really stop accidents from occurring. She had a lot of fun since the other kids were all boys and really enthralled with her. This is when she started to think more about her appearance and doing more about how she looked.
Aglaia was overjoyed when the owl arrived the evening of her birthday with her Hogwart's letter. Somehow, the poor owl had gotten lost and her letter had gotten delayed; She had been watching and waiting for it all day long. She ripped it open and danced happily around in her witch's costume singing, "I'm going to Hogarts" over and over. The other kids at her birthday party stared at her in envy and annoyance.
She was a bit miffed when she learned she'd have to wait an entire year before she could actually go to the school. At least it gave her and her family the time to plan a trip to England so they could get all her school supplies. Much to her dismay and annoyance, her Great-great Aunt Gerta insisted on going with them.
When they finally got to England, in June of the next year they spent time touring and seeing as many sights as they could. Aglaia was rather alarme and annoyed to learn that her parents' were planning on moving everyone to England. She was not very happy that part of the vacation was spent looking at homes. She was somewhat placated when they told her she'd have a vote on what house they bought. After looking at a dozen or so houses they finally found the perfect one.
From the outside it looked very much like the house they had left in Ireland but once you stepped inside it was three times as vast. It had six bedrooms and three bathrooms..which was a definite plus from their last home. Now she could have her own room but she'd have to share a bathroom with her Great-great Aunt Gerta.
The rest of the summer was spent moving the rest of their belongings from Ireland to their new home. Finally by the middle of August everyone was moved in. Aglaia rather liked her new room, but was a bit sad that she wouldn't get to enjoy it all that much, since she'd be leaving for Hogwart's in two weeks. She spent the rest of her summer working on some knitted scarves for her brothers' and her father. She was able to finish them; with a little help, the night before she left.
Relationship with Family: Aglaia, or Aggi as her family calls her has a very close knit family. They always tend to get too involved in each other's lives and are super nosy about everything. So when she has a chance to sneak off to get a moment for herself she'll jump on it. Not that she does it all the time.
She's rather proud of her fun and sometimes eccentric family and hates when others make fun of them. Her mother's strange manner of dress may be embarrassing and her father's ever changing hat collection seems to be bottomless and really quirky.
There's also the matter of her red headed twin brother's fascination with machines and their need to experiment on them One never knows whether the toeaster will belch fire or let loose a stream of sludge at breakfast.
And of course there's her Great Great uant Gerta that Aggi believes to be part Hag. The worst thing is Aggi has to share a room with her. Try to sleep with Gerta's horrible snores and you'd go bonkers.
Aggi is close to everyone in her family; perhaps a bit closer to her Great Great Aunt cause Gerta lives in the same room as she does. She spends a lot of time helping care for the elder cantankerous old lady. She often wonders if Gerta is just acting at being an invalid.
Sorting Aglaia waiting with her arms crossed and her left foot tapping impatiently. What was the reason for all this sorting business? It's not like it really mattered. She could have told you that she'd be a Gryffindor..since she took so much after her father. It wasn't bloodly likely that she'd get put in Ravenclaw or Slytherin. Well..there was always that chance she could be put in Hufflepuff but that was kind of far fetched for her because she was much more suited for Gryffindor, everyone in her family had said so.
And finally her name was called, "Aglaia Caitriona Halloran." With a sigh of relief she stepped up the marble steps and climbed up onto the stool. Gosh, was this unnecessary, she should have just asked for them to put the hat on her head. It would have been over in seconds instead of minutes that way.
She wrinkled her nose at the slight dusky smell of the old hat as it was placed on her head. Great..now she'd have to wash her hair again. She hated it smelling like anything other than the cherry pomegranate scented shampoo she loved to use.
"Well now you are right, you're definitely a Gryffindor." The hat spoke to her.
Aglaia grinned, "Yes so I am. No need to draw this out dear old hat." She whispered back.
"Well then by all means, GRYFFINDOR!" The hat shouted out.
With a happy grin, Aglaia jumped down from the stool and made her way over to the rejoicing Gryffindor table. She happily accepted the shaking hands and the welcomes from the other Gryffindors as she took her seat. It was definitely going to be a fun seven years in this House.
Patronus Aglaia gripped her wand tightly as the boggart began to spin and morph into a figure in front of her. Oh no, it had turned into a hag! A hag that looked a lot like her. Gritting her teeth, she brandished her wand and yelled, "Expecto Patronum!" A silvery muskrat popped out of the stream of magic and whirled around the Boggart, changing it's features ever so slightly and Aglaia couldn't help but laugh. The hag, was now a female scarecrow with button eyes, mushrooms on her face in place of the moles and a carrot nose!
Boggart Aglaia's boggart would be a hag. She knows there are hags in her ancestry somewhere, mostly because her Great-Great Aunt Gerta has said so. So when the boggart is in front of her, she sees herself with a bulbous nose, warts, and green slimy teeth. When she uses her Patronus against it, the hag's warts turn into toadstools and her nose becomes a carrot.
Mirror of Erised Aglaia was still rather surprised that she had found the room of requirement. She continued to walk around admiring the strange and exciting items that were stored in the room. Her eyes alighted on a tall item that was covered by a long white sheet. Her curiousity now piqued, she grabbed hold of the sheet and pulled it up to see what was underneath it.
The shiny surface of a mirror gleamed as her candle flame hit it. Aglaia pulled the sheet off to get a closer look. She was momentarily stunned when she caught sight of the familiar faces of her younger twin brothers in the mirror. They were a bit older, but she could recognize them readily enough. After a moment of staring she realized her appearance had aged a bit, and that her two brothers were glancing at her affectionately.
What was going on? Why were they looking at her that way? They normally never had time for her nor did she think they thought kindly of her. Mostly because she was always ragging them out about one of the experimentations.

Nationality:Finnish/Irish Year:1 Name:Cian Jonas Gringold Age: 11 Day of Birth:August 22 Pronounciation: Kee-an YO-nahs, Gring-old Meaning:Cian: Means "ancient" in Gaelic. This was the name of the mythical ancestor of the Cianachta in Irish legend. Jonas: From Ιωνας (Ionas), the Greek form of JONAH, which is used in some translations of the New Testament.
House: Gryffindor Blood Status: Mixed Blood Wand: Birch, Unicorn Hair core, 9 3/4ths length,Springy Wand Hand: Left More About Wand:
Manner of Dress: Cian's uniform is often slovenly and imperfect, causing him to get points off from his teachers. If he planned better the night before his clothes wouldn't be so disheveled. Voice Style He's definitely got the irish lilt to his voice, and he's got an alto voice. Sexual Orientation N/A as of yet Personality: Gregarious Cian is very extroverted and loves to meet new people and make new friends. He's very social and interested in learning more about people. He's definitely the friendly sort and will often gravitate towards kids who look like they need a friend. He's easy going and gets along well with others.
He's an eternal optimist and always believes there is a bit of good in every person. Even if a person makes his life unbearable he still won't write them off as unredeemable. He's not the sort to take revenge on others for causing him problems either. Which seems rather strange to a lot of the other kids in his House. Cian makes it a mission in life to win over as many people as he can as friends, even when they'd rather be enemies. If that doesn't happen he's happy to allow their karma to get them in the end.
Cian is super disorganized and rarely ever tries to plan things ahead of time. So he's often in a state of disarray when he arrives to classes, and he's often late as well. While he likes learning new things, he often doesn't like to study until the last minute or get started on assignments until there's hardly any time left to complete them. He's often lamenting this and hurrying through his assignments, but despite this he usually does pretty well on his assignments. Though they're often on the sloppy side.
Cian is a night owl, and is often up later than the other kids. He can often be found sitting outside playing his penny whistle and watching the stars when he should be in bed. He can often be found reading as well, though they're not usually school books. Because of his staying up late though, he's often dozing off in the middle of class or sleeping in too late. This causes him to often be running from place to place in a constant case of catch up.
Habits: Whistling when he's in a good mood (which is the majority of the time), biting on his lip when he's thinking, jingling his pockets when nervous (He's got lots of odds and ends in there).
Hobbies: Playing the Penny whistle, whittling little figures of animals or people(Something his adoptive father has taught him), collecting things he finds (coins, feathers, colorful pebbles, knick-knacks, etc.)
Likes: Sleeping in, adventure stories, staying up late, weekends, caramel, baked potatoes+clotted cream and bacon, making new friends..he can never have too many.
Dislikes: Early classes, getting up in the morning,Expectations people put on him, Studying around other people..they prove a major distraction to him.
Favorite Class:Herbology
Worst Class: Any class that's early in the morning, he often misses the first ten minutes of those classes cause he sleeps in too late. As well as History Of Magic.
Greatest Treasure:His Penny whistle, his father's old wardrobe and trunk.

History
Cian was about 20 months when his mother settled in the village so he's known no other life than the one he's lived there. Having so many people help care for him, he quickly became quite the social kid without too many problems. There were a few times when he wouldn't want anyone else than his mum and would cling to her, like when he was sick or in a bad mood. thankfully the school schedule was pretty flexible to allow for her to check on him and take care of him when she needed to.
His childhood in the small town was filled with wonderful adventures and lots of fun playmates. He had the freedom to explore and express himself in ways he never would have been able to under his grandparent's thumb. He grew into a very thoughtful and generous kid who always strove to help those that needed it and to be rather intuitive about other people.
Cian was always the last kid to head inside to sleep, and sometimes would even sneak out after his mother was a sleep so he could watch the stars or play his penny flute. His night owl ways have often been a cause of contention between him and his mother. Despite the safety of where they live, she wants to know where he is at all times. He really doesn't like to cause her worry, but it can be hard for him to fight his nature to stay up late.
Cian grew up seeing the older kids perform magic in the class and adults use it around the village so it's not strange to him at all. At home his mother will often use it as a shortcut when she can't figure out how to do something simple. Since she often told him about his birth father having magic as well it wasn't much of a surprise when Cian's magic emerged a few days before his 11th birthday.
Knowing that his parents had attended Hogwarts, Cian was looking forward to getting his letter. It was rather annoying to him that he'd have to wait until the next school year to attend but he took it rather well. He was happy that his mother started teaching him some of the simple charms and spells and things he'd need to know in advance. He was rather glad to have the advantage..especially since school really isn't something he does well with on his own.
When the next school year approached, Cian, Bradack and Aine departed for London to get all the supplies he'd need for class. After buying his robes, school books and other supplies it was Bradack that suggested they go look at the familiars. Cian was immediately drawn to a rather large reddish tom with a white patch on his eye and picked him out instantly, naming him Hobbs.
The family stayed in London seeing the sights for a few days before his parents escorted him to the Hogwarts Express and saw him off. Cian could barely sit still thinking of all the amazing things he'd see and do at the magic school. He didn't really care too much about what house he'd get sorted in, knowing the hat would pick appropriately for him.
Parent's History
Aine and Matias met in Hogwarts but didn't get together until after they graduated. They married in secret when they were both twenty, after Aine discovered she was pregnant. They had some difficult times but were happy with one another. They set up their home in a small flat in the middle of Essex, London.
While Aine stayed home and got it ready for the arrival of their child, Matias was busy working for the Ministry of Magic (in the Magical Artifact's branch). Aine was in her seventh month of pregnancy when several of her husband's coworkers arrived with bad news. Matias had tried to destroy a dark magic object only to have the spell backlash and kill him.
Aine was so distraught that she went into major shock and her labor come on early. Not being able to take her anywhere by the means of magic, as it would affect the baby too much one of the wizard's left to get a midwife from St. Mungo's to aid in the birth. After a very fast, and very hard labor, Cian was born less than an hour later. It was rather bittersweet for Aine that he was born on the day his father died, and that he looked so much like him.
The funeral for him was a rather small affair, with only her and his coworkers and childhood friends from Hogwarts attending. Up until then Aine hadn't noticed that Matias had never spoken of his family and she wasn't able to find anything out about them after his death. It's a mystery to her what happened to them, she knows they exist as Matias left behind one picture that depicts four very annoyed people, with a baby in the mother's arms. Since Matias had no wish for them to be located, the Ministry couldn't help Aine in finding them despite her pleas.
After getting help for a few weeks from some of her friends in the area, Aine packed up her home and moved back in with her parents. For the first few years, having the help of her family was a godsend. She was able to go to night classes so she could get a degree to be a teacher so she'd have a means to support her son. When her parents started taking too much of an interest in her son and planning his future for him, Aine knew she needed to find a job and move him out of there fast.
She was rather fortunate to find a job as a teacher for some young wizard children in a small fishing town in Northern Ireland. The small town was a haven for magicking families wanting to get away from the noisier and too crowded towns full of curious nonmagical people. The people of the town use their magic, but not at the drop of a hat, reserving it for when they truly need it. They normally rely on natural ways of dealing with every day tasks.
When Aine arrived with a baby in tow, the town council was a bit wary of giving her the job thinking she'd not have enough time to deal with their children and her own. Having used up the last of funds to come to the town, Aine begged them to give her a trial period for a couple of months. After a bit of discussion between themselves, the council agreed to do so. They were also generous enough to give her use of a small cottage to live in while she was working.
Aine quickly took to the small town living and was overcome by the how willing everyone was to lend a hand in helping her with Cian. Cian being nearly three melted many hearts and had everyone wrapped around his little finger. Practically every grandmother and woman in town took turns to watch the little charmer. It didn't take long for the rest of the town to welcome the young mother and her son into their close knit community.
Aine proved to be a capable teacher to the rowdy children of the town, and was able to maintain control of them in and out of the classroom. When several of the kids began to show magical abilities early, she was even able to teach them how to control it. This was a relief to the parents, as they weren't always able to keep track of their kids and make sure they weren't running around using magic.
After settling into the town, Aine married again when Cian was 7 to her landlord Bradack. He had fallen for her right after she had come to the town, but was smart enough to know that she needed time to settle in and was patient enough to wait. They are happily married and happy to parent the other villager's children since they have yet to have one of their own.
Relationship with Family Since Cian never knew his birth father personally all he has to go on is what his mother has told him. He thinks fondly of Matias and is glad that he has a musical talent much like his birth father. He hopes to one day have a relationship with his father's family, though he doesn't know anything about them other than their last name.
Cian and his mother are extremely close. They are both very active and love the outdoors. They love to hike, take bike trips and do camping as well. They do as many things as they can outdoors as they are nature lovers. While the two spent a lot of one on one time, they also like to do group activities with other families and friends. They both have the social bug.
Since his mother is a terrible cook and he's not much better, they often go to the restaurant/bar that his stepfather, Bradack owns. A lot of times his mother will get paid for teaching in meals from the other mothers, much to the relief of her family. Often times her new mother in law or sisters in law will come over and teach Cian a few simple things to make in hopes they'll be able to help him not be as bad as his mother. So far..it's not working so well.
Cian and Bradack have grown really close to each other over the years. They are often going on fishing or backpacking trips at least every other weekend during the summer. Most times though Aine insists on going with them, as she loves the outdoors nearly as much as they do. Cian appreciates his adoptive father and the time he gets to spend alone with him. Especially when there's something he needs advice on.
Sorting
Patronus Cian steadied his hand, trying not to let the multitude of eyes to psych him out. he leveled his wand and spoke the spell firmly and clearly. "Expecto Patronum." The wand's end fizzled and a stream of silvery mist shone and then disappeared.
Cian closed his eyes picturing the happy moment when Braddock had asked to adopt him as his own when Cian had been five.
"Expecto Patronum!" He cried once more.
This time the mist came out in a stream and a figure formed causing everyone to gasp. A magnificent lion strode forward, its mouth open as though in the middle of a might roar. Cian couldn't help but feel elated at the patronus he had managed to produce.
BoggartDeath, losing those he's closest to.
Mirror of ErisedHaving a bigger family, some younger brothers and sisters. He loves the family he has now but feels lonely being an only child but doesn't know how to tell his mother. He doesn't want to make her sad.

The heartstring of a dragon would be a wise choice for one who wishes to cast extraordinary hexes or defensive spells. Would also make an excellent companion to woods that feed off the element of fire.

If you were to look up the definition of Loud in the dictionary, his picture would be there..or so his family keeps telling him. He doesn't mind that though, being loud and rambunctious is what keeps him entertained. And more often than not, it keeps those around him entertained.

History
Elton was found abandoned outside an orphanage for witches and wizards when he was only a few months old. He lived there for five years under the watchful care of the witches who ran the place. He was a vivacious and loud child, often getting punished when he acted out and got too rambunctious. It never broke his spirits though and he always had a very mischievous streak in him.
He and the witches were overjoyed when the Blighs came to the orphanage and decided to adopt him. It did rather surprise the witches that such a young couple with five other boys would want such a rambunctious wild kid on their hands. Callie and Travis just smiled and took him home.
Childhood
Elton blossomed under the nurturing care of his new parents and loved that he was taught school at home while the other boys went off to public school. He loved getting his mother to himself, and he quickly caught up in his lessons with the unorthodox teaching style she used. Callie allowed him to run around for an hour every morning before starting school and then take breaks in between to get out all his energy. This helped him to concentrate during lessons and actually pay attention to what he was learning.
Over the years, the Blighs added four girls to their family as well. Elton wasn't so happy about it at first, but warmed up to them when the girls turned out to love the fun games he came up with. A lot of times when it's raining out and they can't play outdoors..it's Elton that comes up with glorious games to play. He has a great imagination and tends to let it get away from him sometimes.
When he started showing signs of magic, his parents were overjoyed and very pleased. They started teaching him about the wizarding world and started using more magic around him to get him used to it. Elton loved the fact that magic actually existed and that he was able to use it!

Costume Story
In the Bligh family, it being so big, we kids have to pick straws to take turns in getting our halloween costumes. Being so big, and our dad having a crappy job which I can tell he hates but endures for the sake of my five brothers and four sisters. Yeah..there are ten of us. And, since we have cousins who are all boys makes it even worse when it comes to getting costumes around Halloween.
You see my grandmother has kept a collection of costumes from her kids and some of our older brothers who don't dress up anymore. And even though she buys one or two new costumes every year for us all to use it's still not enough for all of us. Mostly because there are always new kids being added to the extended Bligh Family.
And..I'll tell you it bites that I keep getting the shortest stick. It means I always have to go last and get stuck with the crappy costumes. And as fate would have it, once again I've got the shortest stick.
Already, my oldest brothers, Donnell, Jarvis, and Perry have all picked out the best costumes. Donnell got the werewolf costume, Jarvis got the pirate costume..I knew he would..he wanted it last year. And Perry, well he got the spaceman costume. It was rather new.
Once my cousins get done, It'll be my turn, but by then the only costume left will probably be that stupid dratted hippie costume that I've worn at least three years in a row. I hate those purple itchy pants with the freaking flowers sewn on them..and the ugly neck scarf. What were the people thinking back then? How is that fashionable? *sigh*
Well..they're back with the costumes I thought they'd have. Jon's got the cowboy suit, even though the hat is way too small for him. Laurence has the ninja costume, and his twin Lewis has the Dr. Frankenstein costume. Guess it's my turn.
The attic is rather chilly, and looks rather spooky since the lights aren't on. Grandma has this rule that we turn off the lights when we leave a room. She gets really annoyed if we don't follow it. I suppose it's her way to save on the electricity bill.
Great..all I can find are the girly costumes that my sisters will probably be picking out. It looks like Grandma may have bought them some new ones to pick from..she does like to spoil them. Too bad I'm not desperate enough to dress up like a kitty..or a witch. Like that would ever happen!
Hey, wait, where did the hippie costume go? It's gone! Well..now what am I going to do? I guess I could look in that old dresser..there could be something in there I could use.
Oh wow, there's all sorts of cool stuff in here! Glow in the dark paint, black face paint, even some old black pants and a shirt that I bet would fit me! But what could I do with it. Hmm..maybe paint a pattern on the clothes and then I could use that as a costume? But what sort of pattern? I'll have to..figure something out. What would look good on black clothes that glows in the dark? Hmm..maybe a skeleton? Ooh that would be awesome! That would definitely work! And then I can use the face paint and make my face look really creepy! Wonderful! It will be perfect! I bet I could creep out my sisters and make them cry! SCORE! OMG! I'd be Elton the Skeleton! haha. awesome.

It would make an excellent companion to woods that draw from the element of fire and water.
Manner of Dress: Impeccable and proper attired, as he hates wrinkles his clothes are always perfectly pressed. It’s a skill he learned from his mother while being taught at home. He tends to shine his shoes every night before bed; which the other kids will probably make fun of.
Voice Style Soft spoken, Francis rarely raises his voice when speaking, even when angry. Sexual Orientation Straight Personality: He’s highly imaginative and super secretive. He doesn’t like to share his stories or much about himself because he’s scared that he’ll be teased or bullied. He’s rather antisocial because of past experiences and tends to keep to himself. When he does open up he’s a great confidant to have and is very resourceful. He can find anything and tends to remember everything he’s read, mostly because he has to read things three times. He’s got OCD and has to organize things all the time. He often tones other people out when he’s concentrating. He likes to look in on groups of people and study them; imagining himself as part of the group but he’s not about to go up and talk to them. .
Habits: He has the tendency to repeat actions three times every day. He’s a bit finicky about his clothes, if they aren’t straight or have wrinkles he gets really upset and has to change. He reads and rereads things over and over, and does the same with writing. It’s a habit that actually helps him remember things. Will talk to himself and make up stories outloud..which can cause people to stare at him.

Worst Class: Right now it’s Divination..he really doesn’t get it. Flying class is going to be a tough one for him; due to his allergies to pollen and other outdoor flora. He’ll be sneezing so hard that it will make him fall off the broom.
Greatest Treasure: His Familiar Horace the Frog. It was given to him by his family on his 11th birthday.
Francis stared at the box that was thumping around on the living room floor and then looked up at the expectant faces of his sisters and his parents. He finally reached for it and pulled the brightly papered box into his lap and untied the bright green bow. He slowly slid the lid up to peek inside. For a moment he sat their blinking, not sure what the big eyed creature staring back at him was. Then it hit him. It was a frog! Or was it a toad? He reached in and pulled it out. The smooth soft reptilian skin felt amazing..and he slowly pet the frog across it’s back.
The frog ribbited and glanced up at him with strangely intelligent eyes. Francis smiled and laid the frog back in the box. “Thanks Mum and Dad.” He said shooting them a grateful smile. He knew that any type of furred familiar would have caused him to break out in hives..and that wouldn’t have been fun to experience on his birthday so a frog was a nice surprise.
“You should thank your sisters as well. They helped us pick him out.” His mother replied with a smile.
“Are you going to name him?” Asked his youngest sister Fiona eagerly. Francis glanced over at her. “Of course I am! I just have to think it over for awhile.”
Frieda and Frayda his older twin sisters laughed. “Yeah, you know Francis. He’s the thoughtful one, remember?” They asked in unison.
“Conscientious is more like it.” He replied, and glanced around at the other packages on the floor in the front room. “Is there an aquarium for him? He can’t live in the box for more than a day at most.”
“Well blast, I knew we forgot something!”

History
Born in Essex, London on a rainy dreary day, Francis brought sunshine and happiness to Sarah and Frederic Caffrey. They were very protective of Francis, due to their first son Fingal, dying at a young age. Like his deceased brother Francis has asthma and extreme allergies to pollen, nuts and dogs.
To prevent any bad experiences with his allergies his parents kept him home where they could keep a close eye on him and taught him up until first grade. Not knowing what school would be like, Francis finally convinced his parents (with his sisters’ help) to let him go to one. They sent him to a private school where the teachers and staff could better handle any problems he might have.
He hated every moment he was in the school, though he didn’t say anything for the longest of times. He was bullied terribly and had a rough time of it at the private school with sports being extremely emphasized. He had a few close calls with his asthma, much to his frustration; apparently when he got worked up about how he was treated it would trigger his asthma terribly. Not wanting to be labeled a snitch, he bore it without a word for several years.
Finally his twin sisters discovered what was going on one day when they came to pick him up from school and caught three kids picking on him. Without thinking they turned the three boys into toads to teach them a lesson. It was with much trepidation that the three Caffrey kids discovered that the headmaster of Francis’ school was actually a wizard and had seen what had happened. He took the spell off his students and erased the incident from their minds.
Francis’ sisters could have been expelled from Hogwarts for using their magic in the Muggle world, but were spared this fate when the Headmaster defended them. While their use of magic was wrong, they were defending their younger brother who was being tormented. The whole ordeal was an eye opener for Francis and his sisters. They have all been careful not to let their tempers get the better of them.
Francis has always been exposed to magic and has even been allowed to practice simple spells under his parents' watchful eyes. After the incident at his school, they pulled him out and started teaching him at home again, much to his relief. He rather liked learning about the magicking world and what was going on in it. He can hardly wait until he can join his sisters at Hogwarts.
He’s completely psyched and overjoyed when on his 11th birthday he receives his acceptance letter to Hogwarts. The only drawback is he has to wait for 10 months before he can actually go! It’s the only time he’s regretted having an October birthday. He’s waiting as patiently as he can, and pouring over his sisters’ old magic books to prep himself for his first year at school.
Growing Up
Francis had a delightful childhood, he had the run of the house and everyone wrapped around his little finger before he could walk. He was a precocious and charming child and has never really changed from that. he and his mother Fayette were practically inseparable. He was highly imaginative and a silly kid, much to the delight of all. He loved it the most when his mother would enhance his outrageous stories with illusions or bring inanimate items to life around the House. It didn't take him long to catch on and start doing it himself, much to the surprise and delight of his parents. They were careful to teach him to not do it in the public and restrict it to the home.
His older twin sisters, Frieda and Frayda loved to spoil him and dote on him. They also loved to play with his long hair and put it up in bows and ribbons as well as dress him up in their old dresses. He was a rather congenial and easy going kid so he never fought it, and would play whatever they wanted to play as long as they'd let him do want he wanted later on.
His father Frederic was a much more reserved parent but sill made sure to spend time with him when he got older. He would take the time to patiently teach Francis all about the outdoors and everything in the world around him. Francis loved learning about the outdoors and would take a journal to record everything in multiple sketch books. When Francis had questions about something he would always go first to his father, as he saw him as a fountain of knowledge.
Evenings were spent as a family around the fireplace playing guessing games, or sharing stories. Often they would have story competitions, the most elaborate and imaginative would win a special prize. This encouraged Francis to write and create his own stories and to use his imagination.
During the Summer when Frederic could get off of work as an auditor for a large lawyer's firm they would go on vacations all over Europe. Most of their vacations consisted of educational stops; as the Caffrey parents believed in always encouraging learning in their kids.
Sorting Francis wrapped his arms around himself and shuddered, the ringing sounds of laughter and chattering voices was too much. Why did there have to be soo many people present during the sorting? Why couldn’t they make it a private deal? It’s not like they needed to see the person get the hat stuck on their head. With how loud the hat yelled they would have still heard it even if the whole thing was done inside a steel vault at Gringotts. Only one more person to go and it would be his turn.
Francis was getting a bit apprehensive about what was coming up. He hated when people looked at him, and in a few seconds a sea of faces would be turned his way. He rather hoped that it would go by quickly..and not be as drawn out as the last person’s was.
“Caffrey, Francis” Called out the teacher with the list. Francis turned bright red and stumbled up the steps shaking slightly. Gods..why did there have to be so many of them?
He turned around so he was facing the crowd and dipped his eyes low so he wouldn’t have to look out on the rancous kids hooting and calling at him. He could almost hear it now. “Francis? That’s a girl’s name!” He gritted his teeth and clenched his fists. Didn’t they know that Francis had been a guy’s name long before it was used for a woman? Diwits. They knew next to nothing about names..or what they meant.
“Hmm..” Came a voice in his ear, which rather startled him. “Well then where should I place you? You’re something of a mystery.”
“Just put me some place I’ll be left alone and not bullied.” Francis replied softly.
“Hmm…well now that won’t do. You’re something of a dreamer..and a challenge. I know..Gryffindor would fit you perfectly! Though..you’re not much of a sporting type. Still it would do you some good to be in that House. You have courage and you’re the protective type so it works out rather well.” Francis stood there numb as the Hat yelled out loudly, “Gryffindor!”
He was startled to hear cheering from the Gryffindor table as he slowly walked over. They were actually happy to get him? Seriously? Didn’t they know he sucked at games? That he couldn’t even be outside during the spring or summer because of his asthma? Francis completely forgot about all his limitations when he was greeted cheerily by the entire table and thumped on the back enthusiastically by a seat mate.
“We got a Caffrey! Yes!”
Oh right. He had forgotten that his twin sisters were notorious at Hogwarts. That they excelled at everything. That explained it all. Francis groaned and laid his head down on the table. The darn hat had gotten it completely wrong. Drat.
Patronus Not sure yet, possibly a dolphin or a frog of some sort.
Boggart Seeing himself during an extremely bad asthma attack that can’t be stopped. Or his youngest sister actually being a squib and getting picked on..like he fears she might be.
Mirror of Erised If he were to look into the mirror he would see himself as a healthy and adventuring wizard traveling the world and seeking out new and wondrous magical creatures.

History Childhood
Jai was much different than his sister Divya; while she had been a calm composed child, he proved to be squirmy and a very light sleeper. As he got older, they noticed his fixation on bugs and thought it rather odd. They had no idea that it would prove to be something that would continue as an obsession of his as he grew older.
A few years later, Harshad was born, and he had the same disposition as Jai, only music seemed to help calm him. He and Jai were super close until Harshad turned six, then he completely became obsessed with music and let it consume his every moment.
Jai was taught about the magicking world, and often saw his parents, grandparents and older cousins using it all the time. His sister was in her third year at Hogwarts when he finally got to go with her and his father to Diagon Alley. He was enthralled and amazed by what he saw, and became very excited about when he'd get to attend the school. He could barely contain his excitement when he found out that there were magical creatures that were even more exotic than normal insects.
He spent the next three years begging his parents for more books on magical creatures and studying everything he could get his hands on. He slowly accumulated a rather large collection of strange insects, spiders, a couple of snakes and lizards. Despite his parent's fear of his strange pets, Jai was able to care for them and keep them from escaping..most of the time.
On the morning of his birthday, the breakfast table was visited by an owl with a letter in it's beak. Jai nearly had a panick attack, because he had one of his insects in his shirt pocket and the bird nearly ate it. Thankfully his father was able to distract the bird while he got his pet to safety. When he got back his father handed him the letter. Jai opened it and ripped it open. A grin filled his face as he read the letter aloud.
The rest of the day was spent in celebration and that weekend his parents took him to Diagon Alley to get all his school supplies. The first couple of weeks Jai read through all his school books in an eagerness to see what he would learn during the school year. After a month, he went back to playing with his insects and deciding which ones he'd secret away to Hogwarts.
Parent's History
Devadas and Anjari first met when they attended Hogwarts as children. Anjari's sleek black cherry hair attracted Devadas' attention for the first time at a Quidditch match between their Houses. On impulse he made his way over to her and asked if he could sit by her. It dint' matter to him that she was a couple of years younger or that she was a Gryffindor. He just knew that she had stolen his heart.
He spent the next four years being a friend to her despite all the ribbing and teasing he was getting from his House mates. It wasn't until his last year at Hogwart's that he actually told her how he felt. Despite her youth, Anjari had also developed deep affections and love for the older Ravenclaw.
After he graduated, with high marks and honors, the two of them approached and spoke to their very traditional Indian families. Much to their surprise both sets of parents were happy with the match and rather delighted. It was decided the two would have a long courtship period of three years before their parents could get a proper Indian wedding together.
Those three years flew past rather quickly, and they kept in touch regularly while she was still in school and he was starting his training to become an Auror. At the end of those three years, they were married in a very fancy ceremonial wedding. Since his work was in England after the wedding they made their home in Essex and started trying to start a family; despite their parents' advice to wait awhile.
Two years later they welcomed their first child, Divya into the world. They decided to wait until she was older before they tried again. It wasn't until she was around four when Anjari found herself pregnant again. This time they welcomed a son; Jai into the family.
Relationship With Family: Jai has always been the odd one out in his family: his older sister is really close to her mother and his younger brother is the miniature verson of their father. Jai has always felt like he's on the outside looking in on what he wishes he could have.
He finds his father frightening because of how assertive and serious he is. His father rarely initiates time with him and that's the only way Jai would spedn time with him. He's too afraid to approach him about anything.
His mother is too busy running the household and keeping things running perfectly for her family to give him much attention. Jai tries to engage his mother in conversation but finds his choices often horrify and frighten her. She tends to scare easily and his talk of bugs, spiders and reptiles often cause her to freak out or faint.
He was at one time really close to his younger brother. Then his brother's interests turned to music where he showed a lot of natural born talent. Harshad is so focused at becoming the best he can be that he doesn't spend much time on anything else.
His older sister is the only one that will seek him out and spend time with him. For some odd reason insects don't bother her nor does his talk of them. If it weren't for her and his animals and insects he wouldn't have any friends. he's rather sad that she'll be done at Hogwarts and married within the next couple of years. He doesn't really look forward to her moving on with her life but he doesn't say anything because she seems so happy.
Sorting Jai wasn't paying attention to what the headmaster was saying, though his eyes were fixed in the right direction. In actuality they were focused on the giant spider spinning a web behind the headmaster's chair. His fingers twitched and he held his breath as he watched in awe. He fervently wished he had his camera so he could take a picture. Sadly he hadn't been allowed to bring it, supposedly there was something about Hogart's magic that messed with electronics. He idly wondered if watches had the same problem, though he could have sworn he had seen a kid wearing several of them when he had first arrived.
"Hey! It's your turn!" Someone barked into his ear and nudged him forward with a shove. "Get up there!"
Jai nearly fell as he walked into the first marble step in front of him. He blinked in confusion and then hopped up the stairs to take on a seat on the stool there. he tried to ignore the laughter that wafted through the room when the sorting hat fell down completely engulfing his head and face. Inside he frowned and reached up and tugged it up and held it on top of his rather small head.
"Hmm..well you're an intriguing one. I don't think I've ever come across someone like you before. You have a little bit of that would fit in any of the Houses. Intelligence, but only about what you're interested in. Brave and true, and quite witty when you want to be. But just where to put you? What house do you think you would do well in?"
Jai blinked, a bit surprised to hear the hat asking him. He thought the hat was supposed to choose for him. "Well I do think I'd like Gryffindor. My mum says it's a great House."
The hat fell silent as it thought that over for a moment, then it roared, "GRYFFINDOR!"
Jai was rather stunned by the resounding cheering and clapping that erupted from the Gryffindor table. With a cherry smile he hopped off of the stool and bounded quickly across the floor to join them. "Welcome to Gryffindor chap!" An older kid proclaimed slapping him heartily on his back. Jai was enthralled by all the happy faces around him, welcoming him into their midst. It was like a homecoming, something he had wanted for a very long time. Strange that he had to travel from his real home in India to find his true home in Gryffindor.
Patronus Jai looked around the Forbidden Forest warily as he tried to find the trail back to the Hogwart's grounds. Why again had he gone this far into the scary woods? Well there had been that trial of spiders going out of the boy's bathroom on the ground floor that had caught his attention. He still wondered where they had gotten off to. Though now he wasn't worried about them seeing as it was nearing dusk and he couldn't find his way back. He really needed to pay more attention to where he was going from now one. Getting lost in the forest was not his idea of a good time.
"If only I had a light of some sort that would tell people that I'm lost out here." He muttered rubbing his tingling arms. It was getting colder and he hadn't thought to wear his sweater. "Oh duh." He pulled his wand out of his pocket and cried, "Expecto Patronum!" A silvery light shone from the tip of his wand and then steadily grew into a ball of light that poured out to take the shape of a slithering snake which shot up into the now purple sky leaving a silver trail of glowing light behind it. "Ooh," Jai exclaimed cheerfully as he watched his patronus slither back and forth in the sky. "It's soo pretty!"
Boggart Jai stopped in front of the boggart nervously spinning his wand in his right hand, trying to remember what he was supposed to do. The Boggart suddenly shifted from the marrionette professor into a spinning black whirl and then into a giant snarling panther. Jai's eyes widened and stepped back in alarm as the panther shifted it's feet staring at him with shining green eyes. "Remember, think of something funny to counter your fear." The DADA professor reminded him.
Jai's eyes suddenly focused in on the agitated swirling panther's tail. "RIDIKULOUS!" He cried, brandishing his wand at it. A flare of light swirled forth and hit the Panther's tail.
The tail began to suddenly lengthen and turn a bright green. The tail continued to morph until it became a giant python's head and body attached to the back end of the panther. It twisted and started to wrap itself around the panther's body and squeezed it super hard. The Panther's eyes bugged out and it tried to struggle to get out of the python's grasp but it had no hopes of escaping.
A moment later the python unlatched it's jaw and began to slowly devour the panther head first much to the horror of every one else in the room. "I-I think that's enough of that." The professor said through a strangled tone and with a flick of his wand forced the boggart back into it's box.
"Aww, but we didn't get to see the best part!" Jai protested sadly.
"Ugh, weirdo." "Freaky kid, why would he think we would want to see that?" "That was super disgusting." Rang out from the other students in the room.
Jai just ignored them and walked back to his desk in disappointment. It just wasn't fair! He had always wanted to see a panther get devoured whole by a python. Why couldn't the others just allow him that one pleasure without ruining it? Spoilsports!
Mirror of Erised Jai gazed at the mirror, his eyes brimming with tears. It was so beautiful! So lovely! He was surrounded by the most exquisite, the rarest insects in the world! He reached out to touch them and was saddened to find that it was just a fake image. His face fell and he turned away. What was the use of seeing that what he most desired when it wasn't real?
