Jai slide out the side door of the Hogwart's castle and raised his hand over his eyes to shield them from the bright sun overhead. He shivered slightly when a chilly breeze wafted over him and pulled his cloak closer around him. It was starting to cool down for the fall, and he was going to have to start wearing his winter underwear soon. He didn't really know why he was so sensitive to the colder weather, as he had live in England most of his life. Perhaps it was genetics at play.
He shrugged his shoulders and shuffled slowly and carefully through the slightly damp grass making sure to keep an eye out for any insects. He had been told by other kids that he walked funny because of this but he really didn't care what they thought. He preferred to not kill f any insects, especially they were grasshoppers, which he needed once more to feed his two tarantulas. The both of them were getting ready to molt, and they be would needing more energy to do that.
Jai was a bit surprised to see that he wasn't the only kid out this early in the morning. A purple headed hufflepuff girl was on her hands and knees in the grass looking for something. Jai wondered what it was she was looking for. Perhaps she needed some help? Jai shuffled over to the girl, only stopping once to grab a slightly frozen grasshopper off the ground and shoving it into his pocket so it would warm up for later.
"Hello, looking for something? Can I help you?" Jai asked in his soft india accent.

Today was a rather cold day for a young girl to be out and about. Especially one who was wearing a skirt. But, Airyn didn't care much for that because at least her knickers wasn't showing or anything so she was safe. For now, she needed to find a few more crickets to feed Sir L so he could last through the winter with a full tummy and a distraction so he wont lick her to death.
Geez that frogs tongue was gross!
Airyn kept shifting the grass around carefully, trying not to squish anything important. She came across a few frozen beetles and stuck them in her pocket. She could thaw those ones out and add them to her growing collection! They were a pretty purple and she gleed inside. Purple was one of her favorite colors! Granted she'd have to........Use one of the poor things for dissecting, just so she could figure out how they work.
She really hated doing that...
The girl was so mused in her thoughts that she missed to boy coming up next to her. His kind offer to help made the poor girl squeak and fall backwards on her bum. Did she need help? Would he help her if he knew what she was really doing? After all, girls aren't supposed to hunt for bugs...
It just wasn't very lady-like.
"H-Help? S-Sure! I'm looking for bugs, mostly crickets to feed my frog...If you could help me f-find a few...."
She knew she sounded like a nervous bint, but gosh dang it she was still recovering from being scared! Hopefully the boy would help her out.

Jai couldn't help but notice her stuff something into her pocket as he had walked up. What had she found? he wondered.
He was surprised that his presence had caused her such alarm. He reached out a hand to help her back onto her knees. "Sorry about that, I didn't mean to startle you." he apologized with a sheepish look on his face.
He was further surprised by her stuttering but figured that was just because of being startled and decided to not mention it. "Oh, well I can help you with that. I was looking for some myself. My tarantulas are in need of some, don't tell anyone but I snuck them into school. Only one of my roommates knows about them, but he's nice enough he wouldn't say anything." Jai told her.
"The trick about it is to walk slowly through the grass and stir them up. If we work together we could do better. I can walk in front of you and get ready to pounce on them. How many do you need? I need at least three more."
