 Elton could barely hold himself still. He tapped a foot impatiently while the Professor continued to drone on and on. He had payed attention for the first half hour, but now he couldn't concentrate. Why did these people insist on making them sit still for soo darn long? No sane person could manage to last this long!
Elton stopped his foot tapping when he caught the teacher glaring at him. He sighed, and picked up his quill and started scratching away on his parchment paper. He wasn't really taking any sort of notes, but figured if he looked busy the professor wouldn't keep eyeing him.
Finally, the professor began to bring the lesson to a close. Elton began to put his things away as quickly as he could. If he hurried he would be able to spend his free time outdoors. He hated being stuck inside for this long. It was criminal being stuck indoors on such a lovely Fall afternoon.
When the bell rang, Elton was up and bolting out of the classroom without one look back. He ignored the annoyed yells from the other students and dashed down the hallway his eyes straight ahead of him. He actually didn't even notice that he had bumped into several people as he ran by them. If he had known he would have stopped to apologize.
Finally the side door was in view and he grinned happily. FREEDOM!
He was halfway down the stairs before he noticed the girl that was coming up them towards him. He slammed into her and they both went sprawling on the stairs. Elton sat there his head ringing and seeing stars.
"Oh man, are you okay?" He asked sitting up groggily and looking down at the girl.

Adelia hummed a little as she bounced from her last class toward the stairs that would take her up to see one of the professors about a question she had for an assignment. Though she'd much rather be heading in the opposite direction and out the doors, Adelia did want to do well on her assignments. This was her first year, and she had to do well. Especially if she wanted to rub it in Jess's face when he showed up to Hogwarts next year. She grinned; the thought of teasing her cousin was always appealing, mostly because he could be such a jerk himself. Adelia's teasing was always in fun whereas Jess's...was just downright mean most of the time.
As Adelia's mind wandered a little, she didn't noticed the boy coming straight at her. As a result, there was no time for her to get out of the way when she did notice him. He slammed into her and Adelia's books and papers went flying down the stair case and she followed, landing on her backside at the base of the stairs. Luckily she hadn't gone up very many stairs so the fall wasn't as disastrous as it could have been. As she sat up, she could feel the scrapes on her legs and arms but it was nothing a quick trip to the hospital wing wouldn't fix. A moment later, she registered that the boy was saying something.
"Huh? Oh, I'm fine, I think. Nothing broken. What about you, are you alright?"

Elton was relieved to see that the curly haired girl wasn't badly hurt and he got up and started gathering up the papers that were laying on the stairs by him.
"My bad, I wasn't really looking at where I was going." He apologized. The only thing on him that was hurting was his rear end. He wasn't about to admit that to anyone, let alone the girl that he had run into.
"Oh me? I'm fine." He said wincing slightly as a pain shot down from his rear to his left ankle. Great..now he'd be in pain for the rest of the day.
He was a bit surprised to notice that she was wearing cow print stockings and a cow print headband. She must really like cows. He thought it was kind of funny. He smiled and offered her his hand to help her up. He noticed that she had scraps on her arms. Thankfully her stockings hadn't ripped, though he imagined that her legs had still gotten scraped up rather badly underneath them.
"Need a hand up?"

She smiled when he told her he wasn't in pain, but noticed the wince he gave. "Are you sure you're alright? I was thinking about heading to the hospital wing to get rid of these scrapes, maybe you should come with me, just in case," she said and smiled again. She didn't want to hurt his pride or anything, but in her opinion, walking around in pain when a trip to get help would fix it was just dumb. But he was a boy, and boys did tend to be dumb in her experiences.
"Nah, I'm okay," she said and stood a little stiffly. She was stubborn, and that extended to her tendency to refuse help until she was in too deep to help much. Her scrapes stung a little as her stockings rubbed across them. Reaching up, she adjusted her headband, glad she hadn't lost that in the fall as well. "You could help me pick up my books and papers though, if you don't mind." She gave him another smile and knelt to start picking up her books.

Elton was rather glad that she mentioned the hospital wing. He had been about to suggest he "escort" her there so he'd have an excuse to get his backside looked at. "Sure, I can do that." He replied with a bright grin.
He shrugged when she said she was fine and stood up on her own. He clenched the papers in his left hand and looked around. Man..all of her things were all over the stairs. He must have hit her pretty hard. It was odd that he hadn't hurt her more than he had. Perhaps she was just hardier than other girls.
"But of course, it is my fault they're all over."
Elton bent over and began to pick up more of the scattered papers. "Man..you have a lot of notes."

Mmhmm, just as she thought. He probably needed a visit to the hospital wing as well. She smiled and nodded, picking up more of her notes. She laughed a little when he commented on the sheer amount of notes she had. "Yes, I like to take a lot of notes," she giggled softly. "I find it helps me remember more if I write it down."
Finally, all her papers were picked up and mostly neatened. She could put them back in order later. "Well that didn't take too long," she said. "Are you ready to go?" she asked.

Elton grinned ruefully at her comment. It was almost as if she had read his thoughts. He nervously scratched his head.
"I suppose I would do better in class if I were to take better notes, " He admitted with a shrug of his shoulders. "It's just really hard to pay attention when it's soo nice out."
He watched as she carefully put her things back in her bag and then added her notes as orderly as she could manage. "I guess it helps having two sets of hands picking things up." He replied with a grin. "And yes, let's get a move on."
Elton started walking and was annoyed to find he couldn't walk without limping from the pain. Dang..now she'd know he had been lying earlier. He sighed and figured he deserved whatever ragging she could dish out. He had after all caused her pain after all. A bit of damage to his pride wouldn't hurt all that much, or so he hoped.

She giggled a little and nodded. "Yes, notes help. But I do understand that! Especially today. It's so very nice out!" she said with a sigh. Too bad she now had another task added to going to see her professor. Closing her bag so as to avoid another mini-catastrophe like that again, she hefted it onto her shoulder. "Ah, bad side effect of too many notes. They weigh you down!" she laughed and nodded. "Yes, lets," she agreed, blinking when she noticed him limp and smirking just a bit.
"And you were just going to let it go, weren't you?" she chided him gently. "C'mon, lean on me if you need to," she said and smiled, switching her bag to the other shoulder. "I'm Adelia, by the way."

Elton nodded his head in agreement. "It really is," he breathed in a deep breath of air and nearly sucked in a fly. "Augh!" he complained and wiped his nose. "I nearly inhaled a bug!"
He shuddered slightly getting a creepy crawly feeling up his spine. Gosh..he'd better be more careful or he'd end up with a bug in his stomach. That thought didn't really sit well with him.
He smiled at the girl's joke. "Yes they really can. Though I think it's those huge books that are weighing you down the most. Do you want me to carry that for you?"
Elton colored slightly as she chided him, thankfully with his dark complexion it wasn't that noticeable. "Well of course, it would have worked itself out after a few days." He replied wincing as he walked next to her. He stood up a bit straighter and tried to swing his hurt leg back and forth for a few feet before he had to actually take up her offer. "Thanks, I didn't think it as bad as it was." He replied leaning slightly on her.
He wasn't going to put all of his weight on the girl. as he didn't want to weigh her down too much. He was pretty heavy and he wasn't sure just how much she could have taken. "Nice to meet you Adelia, I'm Elton Bligh."

She stifled a giggle when he inhaled a bug. "That would have been gross," she said. Not noticing his blush, she snorted. "Mmhmm. Or you could have made it worse," she said and smiled. "I'm glad you decided to see things my way and come with me," she chuckled softly. She shifted her bookbag to help Elton lean on her. She didn't think he was leaning on her enough, but she thought it was kinda cute that he didn't want to weigh her down. At any rate, she was happy to help any way she could.
"Pleased to meet you, Elton!" she said happily. "So where were you headed in such a hurry?" she asked curiously.

Elton breathed a sigh of relief when she didn't notice his face had momentarily gotten darker. That was one nice thing about being dark skinned, girls didn't notice when you blushed or got embarrassed as easily. Thank god for small favors.
"Yes I know." Elton said making a disgusted face at the thought of eating a bug. At least it hadn't been a beetle or a spider like his roommate's collection of bugs. Thank goodness those things didn't get loose at night and crawl around the dorm room. He'd probably end up sleeping with his mouth taped shut so he couldn't snore and get a bug walking or flying into it.
Just the thought made him shudder in disgust.
"I very well could have made it worse," He agreed still limping at her side. He couldn't help but notice how cute she looked when she was smiling. "Well you know pain tends to speak louder than a boy's conscious mind. So yeah listening to your reason was easier to do after that." he added.
"Well despite the painful way we met, I'll have to say the same 'Delia." He replied shooting her a smile.
Her next question had him groaning in annoyance. "Well..I had just been released from the prison of my last class and was going to head out to the grounds to find a game to play. Usually a bunch of boys gather out there and start playing some game. I guess today I shall have to sit it out." He murmured.

She laughed and nodded. "I've noticed that about boys!" she said. "Though, to be fair, it's not limited to just boys, either. If I'd fallen by myself, I probably would have skipped a trip to the hospital wing," she admitted with a slight blush.
She grinned a little, the color in her cheeks darkening when he shortened her name. It was a cute nickname, and one she wasn't used to hearing. She almost missed what he'd said. "Well, not necessarily," she told him. "If we get to the hospital wing in time I'm sure one of the nurses can have us both fixed up in no time. So you should still have plenty of time to play a game or two," she grinned. Judging by how fast he'd been running from his classroom, he could be out in a field lickety-split!

Elton couldn't help but grin at Adelia's laugh and her reply.
"Yeah, I think some kids are just scared of what might happen to them in there. Not that the nurse or doctor are bad or anything. I myself find the doctor a bit creepy if you ask me." He told her deciding not to comment on her blushing.
"Oh I hope so! I'd hate to have to sit out a good game with the others." Elton replied, "Shall we try and move a little faster?"
Elton wondered if she'd be able to keep up with him if he were to speed up the pace.
