 The tome before you belongs to Jerava (Ithiltari) and Elena. There is a seal surrounding the book, one that allows you to leaf through the pages but prevents you from adding anything. The enchantment is strong and cannot be broken so easily, if at all. So just sit back and enjoy the Tall Tale that is unfolding before you. The Basics:Name: Elena [eh-lee-nah]Name origin and meaning: Quenya; of the stars Nicknames: Lena, Princess, Mistress Font Color: BlueAge: Embellished (Between 9 and 11) Birthday: May 23rd, 2005 Eye Color: Light Blue Hair Color: Blue-black, with blue-white markings Family: Jerava (mum); Anarya, Melissa, Raime, Naice (sisters); 30+ Tahnee (cousins) Distinguishing Marks: Hair marked with constellations that glow; elaborate tatoos on her hands, arms, and back; pointed ears Special Abilities:Hair: Elena is able to control the glow of her hair; most of the time she leaves it 'off', except for her favorite, the constellation the Big Dipper. When she's extremely upset, this control slips and the glow comes back full force, even if it's not dark out. Skin Temperature/Cold Tolerence: Much like Anarya, Elena has a different normal body temperature than most people. However, Elena's is sharply canted towards being colder, rather than warmer like Arya or her friend Ilistala. If she lets her control over this slip, frost forms on her arms and spreads the longer she neglects to rein it in. The cold and frost don't bother her at all, and she enjoys being out in cold weather. Hot weather or heated temperatures make her ill. Tattoos: Elena's tattoos, much like her hair, glow when she is upset. It seems to be related to her frost creating abilities; they glow even more when the frost starts forming. Ice Formation: Elena has recently discovered that if she gets really angry or upset, the frost will become ice. It appears to be reactive; when Tybalt threatened to cut her arm off, the ice flowed up her arm to protect her. It also, unfortunately, stuck the two of them together. In order to reverse the effect, Elena needs to calm down. Personality:Elena is well-mannered and generally well-behaved. She's not above throwing a tantrum when she feels it's neccessary; however, this doesn't happen very often anymore, and Elena's switched tactics to manipulation through her charm. Elena typically only likes people on a surface level and so far doesn't have any deep or true friends. Certainly there are those who she'd be hesitant about manipulating or lying to, but it's unknown how deep that trust really goes. When extremely irritated, she drops the 'pretty pretty princess' facade, and is instead rather cold and haughty. Elena attempts to keep that under control, as she's learned that it's easier to get people to pay attention to you when you're being cordial. This may be another layer to Elena, however, and not a reflection on who she really is. Elena is typically very confident and sure of herself, but it is possible to make her flustered and throw her off balance. She's shyer and more vulnerable like this, unable to toss back insults and seemingly unwilling or unable to be mean. When thrown completely off balance, Elena tends to be nicer and more genuine, as if wanting the other person to like her and for things to go back to normal. She enjoys recieving gifts and tends to view them as an expression of how much people love/adore/worship her. Of course, Elena holds her family members to higher standards in this area than anyone else, but does expect things from certain people on important gift-giving holidays. Currently: In a coma. This listing includes only those Tahnee that Elena interacts with on a regular basis, as well as all of her various siblings. Alec (TANT): Alec is grumpy and fun to tease. I think he's a bit scared of me; I can't imagine why. It's not like I'd ever actually do anything to hurt him or the other Tant. Maybe he's just wary of girls in general? When he's not, um, hiding from me, Alec is pretty sarcastic and mean. I like him better then.Allie (Tahnee Mini): Allie is my first lady in waiting. She's my second favorite of mum's Tahnee, and likes to help me perfect my manners and I think she said she was going to teach me embroidery, instead of 'nasty, messy pottery,' which she says is unfit for a proper lady to do. I like pottery though, it's very relaxing.Anarya (Shattered, Child): The beginning of the end. :/ I don't like Arya. She's way too warm, and she's not real bright...I mean smart, since she is really bright, which is another thing I don't like about her. I never wanted a sister, and I hope mum stops finding or bringing home new siblings.Anarya (Shattered, Pre-Teen): Now she's bigger. D: She's a bit better company now, since she can have a coherent conversation without devolving into a drooling idiot. I still don't like her, and I still wish Mum hadn't kept that stupid shard. Hopefully going to school will teach her better behavior.Anli (Tahnee Mouse): Anli's been with mum for a long time, even before they moved into the House or Miss Nima's house. She's super nice, and loves to cook and she's real good at it too. She runs the kitchen, and tends to boss people around when it gets close to meal time. I don't mind, since I don't do things where she'd need to boss me around.Aurion (Tahnee): Mum has quite a few Tahnee who's names start with A, doesn't she. Anyway, Aurion is very nice, and quiet, and mostly stays to himself out in the woods. He lives out there in a cottage mum made him when he first arrived or something. He's the poor person who has to take care of that twerp Arya, so I feel sorry for him.Daren (Tahnee Mini): Daren is a lot like Dyran, except more awkward and less refined. I think he needs more practice at being a vampire. He's fun to talk to, though, since Dyran can be so incredibly stuffy sometimes. Daren's definently among my favorite of the Tahnee, probably because he's like Dyran but my age.Dyran (Tahnee Vampire): Dyran! Dyran is my favorite Tahnee. He's really smart and teaches me a lot of things. He got me interested in pottery (although I suspect it was at first a way to keep me quiet), and he likes astronomy too. He takes care of me and is responsible for me whenever Mum's too busy to do something.Ellania (Tahnee Mini): Out of all the 'new' Tahnee, I like Ella the best. She spends a lot of time in the kitchen with Anli, but Ella does all the baking now. I guess she's the dessert chef? She's really good, and Anli doesn't mind having someone to do all of that now. Ella's pretty good about saving me bits of dessert, which is why I like her.Hecile (Pae'il): Hecile freaks me out. She came from a plush doll Miss Nimaina gave Mum for Christmas, which I guess isn't really that unusual. She's pretty quiet, for a baby, and tends to stay away from me. I have no idea what she is, although I have seen a few others that look a little like her at Miss Nimaina's house.Hecile (Pae'il): Well, now she grew up. I guess. She's still pretty little, but isn't quite as creepy anymore. She is more annoying, though, since she's started to be more vocal and demanding. I hope that one of the Tahnee volunteers to take care of her soon so Hecile learns some manners.Hecile: (Pae'il): She's such a brat. Her and Malira get along really well. They both like to play pranks, especially on me, and it's really annoying. I wish she'd just go back to the stupid island she says she's supposed to be from and leave me alone.Jared (TANT): Jared's pretty awesome. He's way more relaxed and easy going than Alec is. He's interested in astronomy too, so he and I spend a lot of time on the roof looking at constellations. Jared's smart too, and doesn't mind helping me with my stupid math homework. He even makes it easier to understand than the teacher does at school. Laira (Tahnee Santa): Laira is one of my favorite Tahnee that aren't 'mine'. She's the seamstress, although I'm not entirely sure how many of the other people in the House take advantage of her services. All I know for sure is that I spend a lot of time down there at least once a week with Allie, designing dresses and outfits for Laira to make. Laure (Fandangle Armature): Oh, ick, Laure. She was there when Mum got me, and we've never really gotten along since. Even after she got her memory wiped, we've still been at odds. Not that I really care; I tolerate sharing Mum with her because Laure was here first, but I'm the oldest daughter and obviously take precedance over a mechanical familiar. Liana (Tahnee Mini): Liana is a brat. She's a cat based Tahnee, and likes to bother me a lot of the time. She's pushy and demanding and always thinks everything has to be about her. She's manipulative, and I think I'm the only one who can see her for what she really is. She can't trick me, I know all her tricks. It's too bad no one takes me seriously about it. Malira (Tahnee Mouse): Malira really confuses me. She's really helpful and stuff when I ask her about my garden, but then she goes and does things like drop a paint filled balloon on my head. I want to like her, I really do, but she can be so annoying! I wish she'd just make up her mind if she wants to be nice or mean.Naice (Eden, Leaf): I'm telling you, a kid is going to pop out of the leaf and I KNEW I should have been keeping a closer eye on what Mum brought inside.Naice (Eden, Potted Leaf): Stupid flame head tried to set the leaf on fire, but I stopped her! Of course, now Mum is making Arya keep more of an eye on the leaf, especially now that it's planted and can't escape so easily.

Lance (Simple Truth): Lance is a knight and a dragon. He's really smart, and told me about princesses and said I could be a good one. So I have to try my hardest to be a great princess so I don't let him down.Lance (Embellished): I didn't get to see Lance for very long at the Lake, but he's grown too. He looked really tired, but I think we all were. I hope I can see him again soon, maybe when we're not half-dead from lack of sleep.Mehiyal (Simple Truth): Miss Nimaina brought him over one day while she talked with Mum about something. He's quiet, and a little boring, since it takes a lot of effort to get him to have a conversation. I hear he's grown and started going to school; maybe now would be a better time to see him.Chailyn (Simple Truth): Chai's pretty and nice. ^o^ She called me smart, and she's smart too. Pretty colors, all soft like a sunset. Chai got me two koi, and I got her a bracelet that kinda has the same colors she does. I want to see her again pretty soon and show her that I've grown up.Vidya (Embellished): I've seen Vidya twice now. She's nice! I first met her in a bookstore and she said she'd make me hair clips that look like wings. We talked about books for a while too. The second time I saw her was when I met Tybalt and saw Lance had grown too. We were all pretty exhausted, so it wasn't nearly as fun.Ilistala (Toddler): Stala is nice enough, I suppose, although she's a bit messy. She has pretty wings and these tatoos on her arm that are warm to the touch. I should see her again now that I have tatoos too.
Well, she's still messy, but a little better mannered. May 23rd, 2005: Went to go buy paper, got a little girl named Elena instead.
May 23rd, 2005: Laure and I walked home with Elena, who wasn't happy about how long it took. When we got home, the sprockets swarmed her. The Celestials seemed particularly taken with her.
July 6th, 2005: Elena and I spend some quality time together designing her room.
August 9th, 2005: I finally bought Elena some sprockets - a pair of Celestials. She named them Siri and Sa, which makes sense to her and them.
September 11th, 2005: Went to the Forge, reality had some issues, met Seso again, my hair grew, and Elena made a new friend. Yay.
September 24th, 2005: Alright, what the hell is going on here? Laure's lost her memory, changed shape, and Elena claims to have found some golden string that no one else can see. No wonder I have bad dreams.
Um, how about finishing this one. Sounds like a good idea. -.-
September 25th, 2005: Forge's grand reopening. Joy of joys, Luthe is there, gets freaked out by Laure's non-existant personality, and flees to go hunt. Elena finds a package with her name on it and gets her very own Fandangle that she names Rasalus. Seso's there too, and we all go back to my house. What fun!

October 2nd, 2005: Beach. In the backyard. What? Sa, of course, manages to find a shard of glass and I have to remove it. Yay me.
October 7th, 2005: Went to a park, did some reading, got a good idea. o.o!
My Mistress met another one of her kind, a dragon knight named Lance. We shall see if he proves worthy of her attentions.
October 25th, 2005: Nima came to visit and brought her own Tall Tale along.
Boring boy came over.
There have got to be female Tales, surely. Why can't my Mistress meet one of them?

October 31st, 2005: Halloween.
Halloween indeed, and Elena decides to dress up as a princess. I, of course, have to explain things to her, and it turns out she's rather good at dancing. Fell asleep before the party was over, however.
November 9th, 2005: Went back to the Stationary Store and met Chailyn, a Tall Tale, and Anemone, her Author.
December 12th, 2005: Ordered some gifts for Chai and Mehi and Lance and, um, someone named Aurora.
Laure and Rasalus think they're so clever - adding a gift or two of their own to Elena's order, hoping I wouldn't see. Hah!
December 24th, 2005: Elena whines about getting coal, and Rasalus and I have a talk.
December 25th, 2005: Christmas Day. Bouncing children on my bed is not my idea of a good way to wake up, although it was over with a minimum of fuss. Something's bothering Laure, however...
January 5th, 2006: Went shopping for some books. Found some interesting ones. Oh, and Elena met Vidya, another Tall Tale, although she's older than Elena.

January 6th, 2006: Right, so Elena wanted more books, but we stopped and stared at a messy little girl with wings. Her mother, Ioyla, is nice enough if a little rough around the edges.

January 11th, 2006: Aislin sent Elena a package with a book in it.
January 18th, 2006: Anli is 'attacked' by a fox thing and in the ensuing commotion, Elena lays claim to her. The fox thing, not Anli.
January 21st, 2006: I face my fear of change, and grow into a Widget. Sadly, my MIstress is less than impressed.
January 23rd, 2006: Elena decides she needs new clothes. D: On the other hand, I found this interesting looking shop for sale. Will need to check it out later.
Why didn't that clerk believe my Mistress had a valid form of payment? I simply don't understand. Perhaps Jerava should put the card in my name...?
January 25th, 2006: Donny is very shiny, and has wings like my hair!
January 31st, 2006: Cer is a flying thing that looks like a cross between a cat and a mouse of some sort. He's soft!
March 14th, 2006: Nima gives Elena a book full of legends about stars.
March 15th, 2006: Jer and Elena makes yet another trip to a bookstore, this time coming home with three new books.
March 16th, 2006: Elena recieves some koi from Chailyn, and Jre has to set up a seperate koi pond for them.
March 17th, 2006: Elena grows up~! Well, physically anyway.
March 18th, 2006: Family trip to the zoo, where Arya and Elena meet Shauna.
March 20th, 2006: Elena has a nightmare about being chased.
March 23rd, 2006: Rasalus does some things that really irritate Elena.
March 25th, 2006: Elena meets up with Vidya, Lance, and Tybalt near Bass'ken Lake.
March 29th, 2006: Elena gets a package in the mail from Ais. This time it has makeup and a cellphone in it.

June 28th, 2006: Elena meets Donny again and finds out that he's grown too.
July 20th, 2006: Short notice much? Ioyla sends a card inviting Elena & Jer to Stala's first birthday. Elena panics and goes shopping...next door.

December 6th, 2006: It's that time of year again, and Elena does some shopping online.
December 9th, 2006: Elena recieves a letter in the mail from Donny, and writes him back.

For more detailed information regarding the House, please check out this thread. The House is two stories tall, and depending on my mood, is either a Victorian manor or a Roman villa on the outside. The outer appearance doesn't really matter - it's only accurate as to the general shape of the place. Off to one side, almost seperate from the main house, is Luthenep's wing. It's outer appearance usually matches what the rest of the House looks like, but not always.
The landscaping is variable, but it's usually well-kept in the front. Out back, there's a beach area with a pool attached, several greenhouses, and a forest. Additionally, there are several balconies and decks attached to bedrooms on the second floor. Elena's is of particular note, as her deck has stairs that descend into a walled garden.
Hey, I just live here, I don't design it. Anymore, that is.
The interior is mostly constant. The first floor is infinitely more changable than the second, which is where the bedrooms are located. Rooms of note on the first floor are the kitchen, dining room, chemistry labs, library, airlock, and mailroom.
The kitchen and dining room are Anli's domain, and never move around. As the kitchen was designed to accomadate Anli, the counters, appliances, and cupboards are variable in height, depending on who's using them. The dining room is large, spacious, and filled with tables, much like a cafeteria. For more formal meals, this is changed and the tables are instead a couple of pretty long ones.
Stay away from the chemistry labs. They might have the best sheilds I can deisgn, but I'd stay away just to be safe. The sprockets and certain of the Tahnee enjoy watching things blow up, which may or may not include you.
The library is probably my favorite room on this floor; it's probably best if you stay out of here too. Not that you can get lost - think of the exit and there you are - it's just that the system I use for finding books is incredibly disorienting unless you've had training. And I'm far too busy to train you. Laure can always get a book you need.
The airlock is probably where you came in. It looks different depending on who's key you're using; my airlock is fairly simple looking. Elena and Laure have more complexly decorated rooms, and I haven't gotten around to letting Arya key hers in yet.
Another room to stay away from is the mailroom, unless you're a pyro. Generally speaking, all mail is incinerated upon arrival. Every morning Laure goes down to make sure that nothing important gets burned. So far, she hasn't made any mistakes.
Like I said earlier, the second floor is stable and relatively unchanging. The only major changes are when new people move in, and a room has to be added. Not even the layout changes often, except to put the kids close to my room. Now, the staircase to get up the second floor (and the elevator) has been known to move around, so you do have to watch out for that.
One place you'll probably never see is my lab. You can't get to it unless I let you (family members are automatically included, so they can let you in sometimes), and it never looks the same, except for my office in the middle of it. But, like I said, you'll probably never see it.
Remember, the House is a lot like my lab: you can't get in unless someone lets you.Mum's so funny. >.> I haven't handed out any of my keys yet, but I'll keep a list here when I do. ^.^
