Once upon a time, there was a young mage named Nima who lived on Gaia. Since coming to Gaia, she had gotten many children and pets. One day for a lark, she decided to enchant a deck of cards to walk and talk like the ones in Alice in Wonderland to entertain her children. However, the spell didn't work right away. About halfway through figuring out what went wrong, Nima got pulled away to take care of one of her children.

While she was gone, a young shapeshifter Teinshi that was staying with her found the cards. He picked them up and started shuffling them to play solitare. Now Tein had a bit of a crush on Nima at the time, so when she came back in the room with his sister Shenshi, he blushed and accidently shapeshifted to his normal childlike form.

As he did so, the cards in his hands changed too. They flew out of his hands, the backs of the cards shifting colors. When they landed the cards reformed into a deck. Surprised, both Nima and Shen drew a card. Shenshi picked up the red joker card while Nimaina picked up the black joker. While they looked them over, two small children jumped out of the card faces, a boy and a girl.

The little girl was dressed in black and called herself Noir. The boy was all in reds and said his name was Rouge. They called Shen and Nima their Dealers. Talking in rhyme, they asked that more Dealers be found for the rest of the deck, which they called the TANT. Since the spell was botched anyway and they didn't know what else to do, Nima and Shen agreed.

And thus, the TANT deck was born.

Card

A fairly ordinary playing card on first glance. Only the back is marks it as unusual. It has a common abstract design. However, each Tant cards has it's own coloring for the design, rendering the deck basically useless as playing cards.

Child

A child has emerged from the playing card! Roughly a foot and a half tall, these children retain markings and colors corrisponding to their suit and rank. The colors on the back of the card also influence their looks.

Adult

As an adult, the Tant is now about two feet tall. Each one still resembles the card it came from, however they have also become more indiviualized. Their looks and clothing are now as much from their personality as the original card.

Numbered
The Numbered Cards are 2 through 10. They make up the majority of the deck. Technically the Deuce the the lowest of all cards. Under general circumstances though, the Numbereds don't stand on ceremony with each other. Numbereds will always defer to Aces and the Royal Court.

Royal Court
The Court is made up of the Jacks, Queens and Kings. These cards enjoy an elevated status from the Numbered cards. Unlike other cards, they are usually formal and rely on courtly mannerisms. The Royals defer to the Aces with some resentment.

Ace
The four Aces are the law unto themselves. The only cards that can trump them are the two Jokers, and they do so very rarely. Within certain broad rules, the Aces carry on in whichever way they wish.

Joker
The two Jokers stand outside of the regular deck. Usually considered "wild", this pair tends to do as they please. They act as tricksters and tend to rile up the everyday life of the other cards.

Flatsales

All flatsales will be first come, first serve.
-You may buy one card per flatsale.
-You may buy a card for another person, but that will count as your one card.
-When the flatsale beings, post: "I would like a TANT please!"
-The first person to post after the go will get first pick of cards. The next person to post will get to choose from the remaining cards and so on and so forth.

Once you've claimed your TANT card:
-Send your trade to the appropriate Joker mule as soon as possible. Red cards (Hearts and Diamonds), send the trade to Rouge. Blacks (Spades and Clubs) send your trade to Noir.
-Royal Cards (Jack, Queen, King) are each 5k.
-Numbered Cards are 3k apiece.

Raffles

Okay, okay, I know I said the next event would be revealing Deck 2, but we're still working a few things out with it. Instead, we're going to have a raffle! The following lovely will be up for grabs, the Rules of Blackjack.

Tickets for the raffle will be 1,000g apiece and there is no limit to how many you can buy. If you are already the Dealer of a Rules card, you may not participate in the raffle. Sorry, but we've got the spread the love around after all. You may purchase tickets for others, if you're so inclined.

Tickets can be purchased until 7:00pm CST on Tuesday March 13th. I'll randomly generate a number for a winner at that time. The winner will be able to choose a name and gender for the Rules, it's appearance will be left up to us. I hope to see alot of participants and good luck to all the entrants!

We're heading into spring
Finally rid of all that snowy stuff.
It seems like love is in the air
Or something close enough.

We Joker's have a suprise for all!
Two little bundles of joy.
They're the first of Deck Two,
One girl and one boy.

We can't keep these little one's.
One Joker's almost too much!
So to find them good homes,
You'll have to show us your stuff.

Just give us a poem
Nearly any kind will do.
Just make sure it rhymes
Or try a haiku!

Make us cry, make us laugh.
Or flattery might be best.
So long as it's about the TANT
We'll leave you the rest.

Submit as many as you like.
Give us a limrick, maybe a sonnet
Or even an epic if you like

To clarify the crazy couple: It seems like Noir and Rouge have taken a liking to adulthood. Maybe too much, as they've spawned! We now have the first two card of Deck Two: the Blue Joker and the White Joker. Since one Joker is more than enough for one household, the two need homes of their own. So we'll be having a FREE poetry contest!

There are two catagories for this contest: Rhyme and Haiku. The winner of the best rhyming poem will recieve the White Joker and the best haiku will get the Blue Joker. For both catagories, the poems must be based on the TANT in someway; a specific TANT child, the deck in general, a color, suit, or rank, dice pets, ect. You may enter both catagories and enter as many times as you wish, but you may only win one.

The contest will run for two weeks to give everyone a chance to perfect their poems and we will annouce the winners two days after submissions close. I'll dig up the specific dates later, along with any more specific policies/rules as they come up. I will have previews of both cards up later this weekend.

Please note that the gender and appearance for both Joker's have already been determined. The winners will be able to choose the Joker's names when the contest is over and we reveal their genders, but the rest is a surprise. ^.^

At least two Tants are required for breeding, though up to five can participate. Any two cards can breed, but two random cards have random chance for offspring's suit and rank. Pair, three of a kind, four of a kind, straight, full house, royal flush, ect have better odds of traits throwing true in offspring. Example, pair of Aces has a better chance of making an Ace baby than four random cards together. Four of a kind of Aces has better chance than a pair. This also applies to suits.

Noir

Of the two Jokers, Noir is the more outgoing. She is energetic and agile. The Black Joker has a tendency to flirt and tease just about everyone, regardless of who they are. She usually doesn't mean anything by it, but you can never be too sure with her. She's an acrobat at heart and loves doing gymnastic moves, whether the occasion calls for it or not. More often than not she gets away with it too. Sometimes sneaky, it seems like she up to something. Noir likes to give nonsense riddle rhymes that don't mean anything, just to confuse people. Probably because of her color, she's drawn to the club and spade suits. And for some odd reason, she loves kiwis. The fruit, not the bird.

Noir loves making deals. She's quite amenable to trading a TANT of club or spade variety in exchange for pets for Nima. The following pets she'll accept without question. All others, please send her a pm with samples.

Rouge

Rouge is the red joker out of the two. Compared to his black counterpart, Rouge is considerably more shy. He has trouble speaking with others, and is hard to warm up too. But don't let him fool you, he's a romantic at heart and loves to play games. He doesn't care to flirt, but he'll try and get closer to those he habors a romantic intrest for.
Rouge is a natural magician. He preforms many typical tricks, but his favorite is crating bubble like, glowing, heart and diamonds. Using this, and his skills as an illusionist, he like to preform, the only time his shyness seems to disappear. He has some acrobatic skill but, falls on his butt more often than not.
Rouge has an odd, unexplainably fear of spades. We're currently trying to get him over that.
