The tome before you belongs to Chibi_Dragonfly and Lance. There is a seal surrounding the book, one that allows you to leaf through the pages but prevents you from adding anything. The enchantment is strong and cannot be broken so easily, if at all. So just sit back and enjoy the Tall Tale that is unfolding before you. You can visit the Stationery Store to find out how you can write your own Tall Tale.

The story begins... Linneas was up and about, he was a morning person, unlike his mother who just growls at the very sight of the sun. He set off to sweeping and mopping the shop front, before heading outside to sweep the sidewalk in front of the shop entrance.
She didn't like mornings. She never had. Why she was even up she couldn't remember, and didn't care to understand. She was half asleep on her feet as she wandered the streets of Barton, and found herself making her way towards the Stationary Shop without a very concious decision.
She only noticed Linneas, when she half walked into him.
"Sorry," she murmered sleepily.
"Is okay." The boy chirped as he continued to merrily sweep the sidewalk, he even went so far as to whistle a happy tune.
Once Chibi enters the shop, she wouldn't be able to ignore a shiney spherical object lying right in front of her. The rays of the sun bouncing off against it would make sure that it would not go unnoticed.
Dragonfly nodded to Linneas, before pushing the door to the Stationary store open. She yawned a little, but stopped as the glint of something shiney caught her eye. She woke up a little because of this, and reached down to pick the orb up. She stared at the shiney object in her hand with a raised eyebrow, and turned it, to examine it from every angle.
Upon closer inspection, the orb reveals itself to be an egg. An expensively decorated egg at that. And it wasn't the only one present. There was a line of them, leading from the entrance to the Study. The door was held ajar by an egg as large as a fist.
Dragonfly couldn't help but blink at the lavishly decorated egg, and she sucked in a breath as she realized there were more. She picked them up as she fallowed the trail, tucking them into the pockets of her coat and pants, before picking up the one holding open the door. She paused there, peering into the room, and wondering if it was right of her to enter. Would someone get mad at her if she went in?
But it felt so right...
She sucked in a breath, and glanced back for only a moment, before pushing the door fully open, and stepping inside the study.
Linneas chanced to peer into the shop and saw Dragonfly enter the Study. Golden eyes widened in excitement as he instinctively pressed his face against the glass to get a closer look. Odd that he didn't think to just enter the store, but when one is excited, one doesn't think as clearly.
The Study door opened wider, the room seemingly trying to draw the woman in with promises of more shiney, glittery eggs. It was a 'reward' so-to-speak, being the first non-Tale to spot these spherical pretties. The Tome atop the table was particularly pleased that one of its latest creations have finally been noticed.
"They're so beautiful..." she said outloud, not really sure as to why.
Her eyes trailed up to the Tome atop the table, and, curiosity consuming her, walked over to the large book. She gazed at it with a sense of wonder, and almost dropped one of the eggs she had collected.
"Wow..." she murmered, reaching out to run a hand over the cover.
The Tome giggled at Dragonfly's touch, or rather its spine seemingly rippled, causing the pages to flutter. The Study door slammed shut, but it wasn't loud enough to cause alarm to anyone. And the moment Dragonfly was cut off from the rest of the shop, the eggs grew extremely heavy.
Dragonfly retracted her hand in surprise, staring at the book as it fluttered open, her mouth falling agape. She blinked as the eggs began to weigh her down, and she looked around in semi-alarm. What'd she done this time?
The Tome would have laughed out loud, had it the means to make sound. Instead, it flipped open and asked the woman a question, though it appeared to be making her an offer rather than asking her something.
"What will it be?"
Dragonfly leaned back towards the tome, staring at the pages before her. She laughed softly, and tilted her head a bit.
"What will it be...?" she murmered, her red hair falling about her face as she gazed at the curious question.
She reached out, grasping a pen that was on the desk, and tapping her bottom lip in thought.
"All the shinies," she wrote, her neat handwritting scrawling across the page, before she set the pen back down beside the Tome.
All the shinies it is, then! The eggs within Dragonfly's arms grow exceedingly heavy, so much so that she wouldn't be able to hold them. But instead of falling to the ground, they hovered just above the writing table's height. Slowly, they began to swirl around the woman, the gems glowing slightly.
But eventually, the speed in which they encircled Dragonfly increased, as did the intensity of the light. Soon, the light became unbearable. But once the glow dims down so that one can see again, the eggs appear to have vanished.
Replaced by a curious little boy, scaled and winged, he holds a toy sword in his taloned hands.
Dragonfly blinked as the eggs weighed heavily on her, and gasped in amazement as they began to spin around her. She watched in shock as they spun, growing ever faster. After a moment though, she had to raise her arm, to sheild herself from the bright light the shining gems were casting.
Dragonfly's eyes were tightly closed for several moments after the eggs stopped, and disappeared, until she was sure that the bright light would not blind her.
She lowered her arms, her eyes easing open slowly, and her gaze was immediatly caught by the dragonesque boy sitting before her. She didn't know what to do or say, she was in shock. She wasn't tired anymore, that was for sure.
She reached out to the child, wrapping her arms about his frame, and picking him up of the desk. Her maternal instincts had kicked in, and she felt the need to hold the boy. He was so... Amazing.
The door swung open, to reveal a very excited Linneas standing in the doorway.
He was just grinning, not really saying anything. This wasn't anything unusual to the boy, after all, he was the first one to emerge from the Tome. Still, he thought it was best to keep his silence. After all, receiving responsiblity over a new child was something best experienced in silence. Or alone. Whichever it was.
He quietly went back to cleaning up, grinning knowingly at both the boy and Dragonfly.
Dragonfly looked to Linneas, wonder in her eyes as she held the boy to her chest. Dragonfly's face split into a lopsided grin as she made her way out of the study, and back into the Stationary shop.
"Lance," the small boy in her arms stated, "Me Lance,"
He fell silent once more, his arms wrapped comfortably around Dragonfly's neck, his sword clutched in his hand behind Dragonfly's neck. He nuzzled the crook of her neck gently, and his eyes slid half shut.
"Hello Lance..." she murmered, running her fingers through the boys forest hair, "I'm Dragonfly... I... I'm very happy to meet you,"
He nuzzled her again, and smiled softly, his arms tightening around her neck slightly. That was that. Dragonfly took the dragon home in her arms, though as soon as they had arrived home, he struggled from Dragonfly's grip, and began to explore.
And thus, the story of Lance began to unfold...

The world revolves around rules. Or at least mine does. So please do me a favor, and respect these.
Who is allowed to post:
- Me, or my mule, Drathirden (For I am he and he is me) - Other Tall Tale guardians - People dropping off gifts (But only if you've PM'd me first -- This does not apply to Tale owners dropping off gifts, they can feel free to do so anytime) - Those who have aquired special permission from me (ie, send me a PM, and see if whatever circumstance you want to post under, is ok by me)
Rules for posting gifts:
- Please try and limit gift giving posts to only one post, it makes my life easier - When leaving a gift, please stay in character - I'm repeating this one, I know, but unless you are an Tall Tale owner, PM me first if you want to leave a gift
Other:
- Please do not ask if you can have my Tall Tale, I am very lucky to have aquired him, and unless extreme circumstances arise, I'll be keeping Lance, and taking care of him. - Do not steal the art! It belongs to someone else, that ISN'T you. (Unless you're Syrie. :3) - Follow the rules!

Lance, as the child I recieved him. He was very shy when first I set eyes on him, but he's opened up to me. Ugh. Tybalt... I don't know what I'm going to do about Lance and Tybalt...
It's hard to believe how quickly he's grown. Sprouted like a weed! He's almost as tall as I am already! He looks so noble in those clothes- ready to take on any foe that he faces. I just hope that he won't have any real enemies for a good long time yet...

Coming soon...Lance's Words to Live By THE CHIVALRIC CODE Prowess: To seek excellence in all endeavors expected of a Knight and other wise, seeking strength to be used in service of justice, rather than in personal aggrandizement. Justice: Seek always the path of 'right', unencumbered by bias or personal interest. Recognize that the sword of justice can be a terrible thing, so it must be tempered by humanity and mercy. If the right you see rings true, agrees with others, and you seek it out without bending to the temptation of expediency, then you will earn renown beyond measure. Loyalty: Be known for your unwavering commitment to the people and ideals you choose to live by. There are many places where compromise is expected; Loyalty is not amongst them. Defense: The ideal knight was sworn by oath to defend his liege lord and those who depended upon him. Seek always to defend your nation, your family, and those whom you believe worthy of loyalty. Courage: Being a knight often means choosing the more difficult path, the personally expensive one. Be prepared to make personal sacrifices in service of the precepts and people you value. At the same time, a knight should seek wisdom to see that stupidity and courage are cousins. Courage also means taking the side of truth in all matters, rather than seeking the expedient lie. Seek the truth whenever possible, but remember to temper your justice with mercy, or the pure truth can bring grief. Faith: A knight must have faith in his beliefs, for faith roots him and gives hope against the despair that human failings create. Humility: Value the first contributions of others; do not boast of your own accomplishments, let others do this for you. Tell the deeds of others before your own, according them the renown rightfully earned through virtuous deeds. In this way the office of knighthood is well done and glorified, helping not only the gentle spoken of, but also all who call themselves knights. Largesse: Be generous in so far as your resources allow; Largesse used in this way counters gluttony. It also makes the path of mercy easier to discern when a difficult decision of justice is required. Nobility: Seek great stature of character by holding to the virtues and duties of a knight, realizing that though the ideals cannot be reached, the quality of striving towards them ennobles the spirit, growing the character from dust towards the heavens. Nobility also has the tendency to influence others, offering a compelling example of what can be done in the service of rightness. Franchise: Seek to emulate everything that has been spoken of as sincerely as possible. Not for gain but because it is right. Do not restrict your exploration to a small world, but seek to infuse every aspect of your life with these qualities. Should you succeed in even a tiny measure then you will be well remembered for your quality and virtue.
THE TEN COMMANDMENTS OF THE CHIVALRIC CODE I. Thou shalt believe all that the Church teaches, and shalt observe all its directions. II. Thou shalt defend the Church. III. Thou shalt repect all weaknesses, and shalt constitute thyself the defender of them. IV. Thou shalt love the country in the which thou wast born. V. Thou shalt not recoil before thine enemy. VI. Thou shalt make war against the Infidel without cessation, and without mercy. VII. Thou shalt perform scrupulously thy feudal duties, if they be not contrary to the laws of God. VIII. Thou shalt never lie, and shall remain faithful to thy pledged word. IX. Thou shalt be generous, and give largess to everyone. X. Thou shalt be everywhere and always the champion of the Right and the Good against Injustice and Evil.

Name: Dragonfly Kestal Kitamia Gender: Female Age: Looks about 22 - 24 Weight: 135 Ibs. Height: About 5"8' Eye Colour: Sharp Golden Eyes Hair Colour: Changes, though usually is Black, White/Grey, or Forest Green. On rare occasions, she'll be a red head. She's also taken to being partial to blue. Physical Description: Her hair colour changes quite often, though she is partial to the colours red, white and forest green. Her eyes are a sharp golden, her fairly round features a portrayl of false innocence. She has two small demonic horns potruding from her head, and sometimes, she wears a briar of dried black roses. Her hair ranges from short, to extremely long, depending on when and how she gets it cut. Dragonfly's eyes shimmer with a mischievious air, a defiant smirk usually found upon her face. However, not long ago she found herself in a fight, and had her left eye slashed. Now she wears her hair over the injured eye, embarassed by the scar, and wanting to keep it as much of a secret as she can. She's not really enjoying being half-blind. She is just above average height, not short, not overly tall, just above average. She has a fairly nice figure, though it is a little on the chubby side. Personality: For the most part, Dragonfly is a fairly quiet person, though when she becomes over-excited she can get, well, a bit hyper to say the least. She is quick witted, though can become slow at times too. An avid reader of anything she can get her hands on, she loves engulfing herself in history, though she loves the future and present just as much. A dreamer to no ends, she usually finds herself writing to express some of her pent up creativity. She has a fairly calm temperment, though when aroused to anger, she will resort to vicious tendancies. She can sometimes be extremely dark, and depressing though, if situations occur in her life to cause such violent moods. History: Dragonfly Kitamia, a mischievious half-Drow, half-demon who travelled to Gaia to escape her murderous bloody past. She prefers not to talk about who she was, having left it behind long, long ago. It is unclear as to how she even found Gaia at all, but she's here now, and her home is where her heart is. She seems almost more like an imp, her cheerful mischievious qualities slightly hypocrytical of her old demonic self. She now contents herself with her books and artwork, casting her blood thirst away through the release of creativity.

Dragonfly has no idea where this egg came from. Lance carried it in from the garden, and now she awaits to see what comes out of the egg. Lance guards it extremely protectively though...
Dragonfly believes that Valkyrie is nothing more than a plushie, and for the moment both Lance and Valkyrie like to keep it that way. Lance loves playing with Valkyrie, since the young neko shares Lance's love of knights, and things medieval. Valkyrie is Lance's squire, and the two are quickly becoming inseparable.
A dragon in a test tube, apparently delived by Vidya (though Dragonfly never saw the delivery). Lance seemed a little freaked out that a dragon would be in a tube, but nonetheless, he seems very attached to Merek.
