Personality: Daren wants to desperately be like Dyran, but falls short a lot of the time. The younger vampire had only recently been turned prior to Jerava adopting him, so the rough edges on his vampirism have yet to be smoothed out.
Like Dyran, Daren is one of Elena's caretakers - although Daren is more of a companion than teacher. Not as socially conscious as Dyran or Allie, Daren typically plays the role of jester, the one who can say something to the Emperor (or princess in this case) that needs to be said, without fear of reprisal.
