= ABOUT THE RUIN =
The site resembles a sprawling palace built on a floating island in space, in a manner closely resembling
Laputa, with domed buildings and towers made of ivory-colored stone and occasionally decorated with carvings. While artifacts are hard to come by, there's hints the people of this place once enjoyed a luxurious lifestyle, with public baths and other leisure areas a common sight.
Curiously, some of the more interesting buildings have been barricaded off by large sculptures, pieces of rubble, or something similar. Anyone inspecting these barricades may deduce that they were placed recently, as if
someone doesn't want you taking a peek inside.
= UPDATE 8/4/22 =
Some conversation at a
party held by robots who found the ruin has revealed that this place is (allegedly) called
Astraya.
Widely considered to be a myth or fabrication by the Silver Millennium, Astraya is so shrouded in mystery most in modern times have not heard of it at all. Those who have may recall legends of its people achieving incredible wealth and unlocking miraculous powers using the treasures they acquired -- powers could that rival, or perhaps even exceed, the abilities of a Royal Senshi or Knight.
VANGUARDIANS may have learned of Astraya as part of their education, with the understanding that it's a mythological place and its alleged achievements are not actually possible. DEEP SPACE SENSHI may have similar knowledge.
EARTHBORN SENSHI AND KNIGHTS may recall past-life memories or ancestral anecdotes of the place being discussed. Erytheia Knight and Sailor Puck can directly recognize Astraya's architecture as matching the outposts found on their own worlds.
NEGAVERSE AGENTS may have found anecdotes of the legend in documents from the Dark Kingdom, albeit with very little substantial information.
DARK MIRROR SENSHI may have seen artifacts with a peculiar script or aesthetic in Mirrorspace.
Knowing that this strange place is in fact a location so mysterious and legendary means it might be possible they actually achieved what they were rumored to have achieved: immortaility, infinite knowledge, and more. Could some trace of that power, or how to obtain it, still be here? Perhaps Order could use it to beat the Negaverse. Perhaps the Dark Mirror Court could use it to build Mirrorspace to a new stage, or the Negaverse could use it to achieve Metallia's vision for the Earth. Maybe the Vanguard could use it to save their people.
Even if you're not interested in finding anything, it's likely in your best interest to prevent your enemies from doing so while you're sidestepping around overly friendly robots and trying to figure out how to get back to Earth.
= UPDATE 8/15/22 =
The robots encountered on Astraya have found ancient technology that can extract star seeds,
and they're after yours. Since you haven't yet found a way to leave this place, you better be careful! Will you run? Hide? Fight? Or will you try and change their minds? Will you work together with other factions to neutralize this threat, or take advantage of the opportunity to get rid of some troublesome enemies? Potential RP scenarios include, but are not limited to, the following:
Being pursued by a robot for your star seed. If they get close enough and activate it, the golden orb on their body will shoot out a glowing filament that penetrates the chest and pulls the star seed into the orb.
Encountering a robot who stole a star seed. It will be visible inside the orb on their body. You may have to fight them to retrieve it, or it may also be possible to convince them to set it free, depending on player choice. NPC players can decide whether to destroy their robot, and whether that's the only way to make them surrender the star seed they stole.
Finding the body of someone whose star seed has been stolen. The Astrayan technology that removed it seems to be helping them stay alive, but they are unconscious. They probably need protection from enemies who would rather their star seed not be returned!
If your star seed has been stolen, the Astrayan technology responsible
allows you to manifest as a ghost. In this state you can communicate with other characters, but can't use your abilities or physically influence the world, instead tending to pass through solid objects. At player discretion, it may be difficult to make yourself seen and heard by other characters. You will resume being your normal physical self once your star seed is returned to your body!
Characters are not yet ICly aware that the robots can steal their star seeds, and will not discover this until someone gets theirs stolen. It may be worthwhile to use the
Information Exchange to share developments as they come and try to coordinate some kind of plan.
