Naeria wasn't far from the group. Kurma had said that this place was dangerous, and Kurma knew things. She'd believed him the first time he'd told her about Astraya. She wasn't going to stop taking him seriously now that she was here.

She wasn't trying to be reckless.

It was just so loud and chaotic that her head was spinning. Half of the humans were continuously trying to pick fights. On top of that, there was a party.

Naeria just needed to sit down.

She ended up cross legged near one of the pillars, where she could still keep an eye on the rest of the Vanguard but she couldn't hear them quite so directly.

Oh. One of the robots was coming close to her. Was it supposed to look like a dog, or a humanoid? Naeria could not tell.

It was curious enough that Naeria shifted onto her knees and leaned forwards to investigate farther.

Everyone else seemed to be doing their job with the organics to some point, and Fifi's service with the leadup music was not immediately needed, so ey had scampered off to see if there were any organics who might specifically appreciate eir services. It might have been ages and ages, but... ey had been meant to perform originally! For organics! Ey remembered that much.

This was one of the longer organics, too, one of the group who came in strange colors; Fifi crept up to her huddled form, emitting low-volume RELAX/DESTRESS noises, strung together enough to be musical but not too complicated. Once ey was sure she was looking at em, ey waved (with a jingle-synth of not-bells), chunky plasticine-and-metal fingers unthreatening in their rounded shape.

Did she like??

What was that noise?

To Naeria, it reminded her of the sounds that came out of Fae-Fae's room, sometimes, the sounds that had Naeria bringing her books out to the hallway so that she could listen better. The sounds came from Fae-Fae practicing her cello, and when she didn't want to disturb anyone, she would pluck the strings softly. It was called Pizzicato, Naeria had found out. It sounded like raindrops.

The tempo of this was completely different, but it made Naeria feel the same way. It was calming. She thought she could read a book, listening to this music.

So, she uncurled more, until she was all the way up on her knees, watching the robot approach with her wide, owlish eyes. She was smiling.

Was that a wave, like what the humans did? Naeria lifted her own hand, wiggling her fingers.

Oh, that was promising!! The organic liked it. She'd even waved back, kind of, maybe! Good, good. The music stayed mostly the same, but ey dug through eir memory banks until ey had something with a little bit more of a shiver, something a little bouncier, and threaded that into the sound; Fifi could speak, but speaking was annoying and messy, and wordchoice was so complicated when there were so many possible options and dialects. Noise-sound communicated better.

Ey walked a little closer, then, tentatively, and looked up at her with its sculpted-on serene face. Was this... also okay?? Did she want em to leave or go further away? Those would be okay, too, but it'd been so long since ey got to mix|play anything for an organic.

Oh, that was happier music, wasn't it? Naeria wasn't the best at knowing which music corresponded to which emotion. It wasn't something that she'd been putting research into as much as she'd been putting research into other things, but she'd picked up a little from the others and from the Internet.

She thought it was happy. Anyway, the bouncy beat made her want to smile along, So, she did.

It made her want to move, too. Her fingers twitched, and then they were bouncing and bouncing and bouncing on the side of her leg. She bobbed her head, too.

If this robot was talking through music, then maybe she could try too, even if she wasn't quite sure how. She could hum, though. She'd learned how to do that, and she hummed along with the music that was being played.

She liked it, she liked it! Eir speakers wiggled, a little like ears, a little not like ears. Maybe a little like an axolotl, six-fronded. (It was an intentional modeling quirk: distinguishing silhouette, supposedly, helped make em and all the others like em distinguishable at a glance, every new revision with a new speaker alignment. Ey remembered fits and pieces of all those technical things, in the way organics probably remembered dreams: it had been a very long time ago, and if Fifi kept to everything a TRINITY V3 ACE model had been designed for and no more, ey would have never ended up here.

Ey didn't like to think about what had happened to the other models. What must have happened, to them, on a singular scale or on a larger one. In theory, pairing multiple TRINITY models together was supposed to make them produce higher-quality output and more varied work, anyway.

In practice...

It didn't really matter. Fifi was the only TRINITY ey'd seen or heard about for years and years aaaand years! And not just TRINITIES, either, any Paxi androids, really. So it... didn't matter too much anymore, what eir theoretical capacities were, when those specific circumstances couldn't really be touched at this point.)

Now that the organic seemed interested enough, happy enough, ey added a little subtrack to eir song with a harmony sort of rhythm. Now was the time to weave a little more complexity into the song.
