¤ Zealous
Eager to prove himself to his family and peers, Cais takes pride in being enthusiastic. He enjoys new activities, new places and new people and will approach them (impatiently) with passion in his voice and a smile on his face. Spirited, he will take on challenges with a song in his heart and won't shy away from the unknown.
¤ Inventive
It's sometimes said that a prepared man is a smart man; Cais may take heed to this saying, but he believes that you should be able to hold your own on the spot using some imagination and elbow grease. To situations and problems Cais takes the box and rebuilds it completely, thinking outside of it, inside and all around. Ever vigilant, Cais has a sense to fixing problems even though it may be through atypical means.
¤ Curious
A young man with the wonder of a child, Cais wanders in mind, body and soul to explore all aspects of life. To both positive and negative ends, Cais will often get caught in his curiosity and end up wandering away from other people, thoughts and even invested emotions to catch a glimpse of something new.

Patience is a virtue not served to Cais. Cais has deep rooted challenges with delayed gratification. Whatever must be explored, whatever must be done, all and everything must happen at the time of his choosing. Coping with procrastination doesn't exist; to wait is torture.

Quick to anger and quicker to swing from one emotional spectrum to the other, Cais is rarely completely calm. Like the ocean itself, he is at constant flow and ebb going from one to the other in the blink of an eye. Hobbies:
¤ Glass-blowing
Not only just the given trade of the Trinh family, Cais holds this artistic outlet near and dear to his heart. Many a day with "free time" will be spent perfecting glass pieces, learning new techniques and trying out his own unique ideas on each piece he makes. Though not all of his pieces make it out to the shop display, he works tirelessly on combining techniques, shapes, colors and method to create a wonderful masterpiece.
¤ Exploration
Taken from more innocent days, Cais can't fight what is a part of him. Curiosity drives him to want to explore anything and everything from the city to the outskirts and even further beyond if he can. Finding new places excites him and the journey to find such a place even more so. When his hands are worn from working in the shop, on the city roads with a grin on his face and a curious twinkle in his eye is where you will find him.
¤ Swimming
Perhaps he would have been better suited as a fish? Cais loves water. Ocean water, lake water, river water... any kind will have him jumping into it. He will swim laps in different styles and even lie back just to float steadily. Though, his favorite part of swimming is diving. Taking a big gulp of air down to the bottom of a body of water, testing how long he can stay then rising to the surface. Even taking a full day to explore the depths of wherever he may be. Another perk? Cais loves to collect sand found at the bottom of water to dry and use for his glass works, it brings him satisfaction seeing the underwater world and feeding his artistic explorations.

Sitting squarely in middle class, Cais's family has always had to work for their bread and butter. Their trade of choice: glass blowing. Beautiful handmade vases, glasses, and other art pieces have been the family trade for generations, selling them either from their home or out on the street. Living in a moderate sized home near other artisans, Cais grew up as the middle child second to his older brother Nam and before his younger sister Hien. His parents were both from lower-class families who struggled many years to gain enough ground to reach their current living status. Knowing this, they have kept their children close to their trade, teaching them the ways of the fire and techniques of blowing.
When not learning of his glittering heritage, Cais spent many days tagging along with his older brother while his father, Dinh, was away selling their wares and his mother, Bach Yen, tending to the household, workshop and younger child. In these adventures the two would investigate old buildings and run amok from the inner city all the way to the outskirts of the town. Mischief was a large part of their world, but mischief can only last so many years. As Nam grew older he went to school and strayed from the realm of the family trade, taking an apprenticeship as a blacksmith rather than the artistic world of glassblowing. (As he felt it was a more “beneficial” profession) Ties were severed within the family and before Cais was out of adolescence he watched his brother's personality dull and shrink within him, leaving the husk of young man with few words ostracized to the back room of the house. This left Cais to become the so called “heir” to the family tradition, as well as causing a rift between the brothers, and he began taking more lessons from his father and spending most of his free time to himself.
When not going to school, wandering the streets, surveying the outskirts, or keeping to the flames of the workshop in the back of the house Cais attempted to stay as close to family as possible lest he allow history to repeat itself. Keeping a watchful eye over his younger sister he strengthened the bond as much as he could seeking to have the sibling relationship between them stay strong. Though they don't have much in common they can agree on family values and the appreciation of their trade and form of artwork. They come together to work on larger projects (as they will often take custom orders) but live separate lives of each other.
In recent years the family has fallen on harder times forcing the business to take on more merchandise and thus begin steady trading routes. Now along with selling the handmade goods they must take in imports to sell in the marketplace so they may continue their “better than average” existence. Cais has been taught the ways of this and assists his father with the labor and selling of their stock. However in this merchant's world they are strangers; new blood among the many merchant clans of the city. Adaptation is key and Cais has taken many strides to learn, but even though he is determined and family bound, he has a lot to learn to form his own opinions regarding life and progress into adulthood.

Setting a few streets over from main street, towards the way of Artisans Path, sits the Trinh household. It is nestled between other houses of the same make (a hanok Korean style home). The house itself is surrounded by a stone wall, protecting the courtyard style of the house. There are five separate buildings surrounding a medium-sized courtyard. In the courtyard there is a small square of grass with a personal well for the family, smaller plants growing near out. Outside of the grassy area is set stone.
On the left from entering is the dining area and connected further beyond lies the kitchen area. Further back sitting parallel of the front entrance is a two-story building where the main family room sits below with the master bedroom connected. Above on the second story are two rooms, Cais's and his sisters. Beside the two story area there is a break between buildings where a large, flowering tree grows next to the perimeter wall. Settling beside this tree (a good length from the other building) is a one-story room belonging to Cais's brother. It is completely secluded away from the other buildings.
To the right of the entrance is the family glass blowing workshop, where all of the supplies is stored and the fireplaces for working are. Each fireplace has a chimney of sorts overhead, made of metal reached upward through the roof. To the right of that, sharing a wall and a door, is the showroom which has it's own entrance from the same side as their house entrance. Inside are shelves for displaying their well-known products and a place where other Lunarians may come and purchase such treasures of Trinh family. Facing perpendicular to this showroom/shop is the bathing house where the tubs lie and the bathroom is attached, being closest to the detached room which belongs to Cais's brother.
All of the buildings stand independent of each other, but all is enclosed within the stone walls creating a single "home" which the Trinh family inhabits. There is only one entrance from the front side.

¤ Trinh Dihn (Father) - The Patriarch of the family, Dihn is the only son in a long line of glassworkers known as the Trinh family. Though the family suffers on harder times, Dinh does his best to keep his families' spirits up and show that hard work and elbow grease can work for the better.
After his parents had passed on, he was given full rights to the family business with his new bride, Bach Yen, to take over and make the business thrive for his generation. For years they prospered until the darker times of the Lunarian economic world came crashing down as the war escalated. Now with his oldest son branded as an traitor to the family, Dinh works to train Cais to take over as he himself once had to do. Not only that, but now he is learning the ways of a merchant to further assist the thing that matters most in his life, family.
Descriptive Words - Authoritative, Persevering Compassionate, Artistic
¤ Trinh Bach Yen (Mother) - A beautiful woman born and raised in sub-standard living conditions, Bach Yen works hard to serve her loyal husband and raise her children. She met Dinh by means of her sister during a shopping adventure to the Trinh family shop. It was true love at first sight, and Dinh has stayed by her side ever since.
An artistic woman herself, Bach Yen assists with glass designs and can often be seen painting on parchment with new ideas. She will also make her own pieces when not busily attending to the home, husband and children. She rules her roost with a sweet heart and the best intentions, doting over Cais and Hein with the utmost care. Mainly with a smile on her face, others may see her as docile, though the members of the house know otherwise. Never upset a housewife.

¤ Trinh Hein (Daughter) - The smallest member of the family, but with big personality. Hein is cheerful, outgoing but extremely stubborn and vindictive. Growing up, she was taught the ways of a housewife and accepted it outwardly, but inwardly hating every moment of it. She attempts to keep closer to the family trade and will even sneak in time to the workshop to hone her skills with the help of Cais.
Already so bold for her age, she will often duck out against her parent's wishes and bonds closest with Cais, who doesn't want to see her greater desires beyond that of a housewife squashed. In this face, Cais and Hein are close as he always watches out for her. Hein and Nam also talk, though she doesn't always let on what about. She is secretive that way.

Excommunicated Family Members:
¤ Trinh Nam (Oldest Son) - The token black sheep of the family, Nam is now the outcast in the Trinh household. Though growing up he was an overbearing, fun and mischievous older brother to Cais and a son showing great promise as the Trinh shop heir, all of that has been put into the past.
Failing in the art world that is his family trade, Nam grew frustrated and slowly began slipping away from the ties of blood. Eventually he managed to get a job working as a Blacksmith's apprentice, unknown to his family. Soon it was apparent the young man was spending more time away then at home and eventually was baited into confronting his family with the truth. After a heated argument with his father, he was exiled to the room in the corner of the small estate where he only further ostracized himself, taking only joy in leaving the house to earn enough to move. In that time, Cais and Nam had not spoken many words to each other.
Recently, Nam has admitted to supporting the Legion and thus was ousted by his younger brother and has since left the house to assist his cause and cement himself into the Emperor's Legion. He is indifferent to his brother and it is unlikely the two will speak while bloodshed still fills the Imperial City at night.

¤ Basic: ¤Now at his second stage, Cais has sworn himself to the Noble cause. Through the personal loss of his brother to the Legion to his inner ideals that the world of Lunaria must change if it's to prosper. Perhaps more driven by thoughts of revenge, his heart is in the cause and he will fight to defend it. For change and for a greater Lunaria.¤ Type of Magic: ¤Seal Forming Magic¤ Weapons: ¤{Fighter} ¤ (Blade Gauntlets*) ; Similar in style to these, though the blades are shorter, about 3/4 the size of his forearm, (as his weapons progress they get longer, the metal more durable and the gauntlet more elaborate/decorative) and made of bronze with the main body of the gauntlet meaning mainly cured leather with very little to no decoration. The gauntlet itself goes around his wrist to about 1/4 down his forearm and is strapped on tightly. The blades are on the top of the gauntlet situated near the middle and in this stage has only three blades which curve slightly at the ends. At this point his magic is used to make protective seals of the metal and fire seals to add a tinge of heat for cleaner cuts.{Captain} ¤ (Extended Blade Gauntlets*) Locked ; Short description here.{Tenryujin} ¤ (???) Locked ; Short description here.*Note: Has changed from before, but same concept.*Note: These have not been yet determined as the official names of these weapons. My idea is to have hardened leather gauntlets which cover the hand with small bladed hooks near the knuckle area(approx 4-6 inches hanging, he would need to ball his hands to fists to use in combat, when relaxed can have over his fingers. They may be above the knuckles facing slightly upward rather than on the knuckles themselves) and then finally emerge as long bladed claws (approx 1 foot and a half to 2 feet long) attached to a now metallic gauntlet. (In that form his hands are rather safe from the blades as they are away from his knuckles safely secured in the metal gauntlets. {Jianyu} :: Hate :: There is no other Lunarian that Cais hates more. Due to several interactions he has come to hate him with a deep loathing and only seeks to grow stronger so he can one day take him down.
{Kotone} :: Dislike :: As an Academy student Cais met this girl who proceeded to steal from him and then teach him a lesson for trying to confront her.
{Sarangerel} :: Dislike :: A soft-spoken girl with a troubled past, sweet mannered and enjoyable to converse with. Cais once had feelings for her but once he was aware of her alliance turned on her. He is the reason her face is scarred.
{SimaLi} :: Like :: Nearly killed by her boat crashing into him, Cais met her under strange circumstances. They spoke and had similar beliefs. Later when it was discovered she was Legion Cais could not bring himself to instantly hate her despite his natural intuition.
{Yue Lao} :: Dislike :: A girl who seems drunk all the time. She's a spitfire with a mean punch. Cais admires her drive but dislikes her by association of Jianyu.
{Van} :: Dislike :: Once just a passing customer to his family shop, now known as a Captain of Legion and was sent to take care of him. Left him alive, but insulted.
