Maybe she shouldn't have mocked Tai Chi, because in that particular moment, Yue Lao probably could have used the relief. She punched a training dummy, spinning it around, and then nursing her knuckles; at least her leather gloves covered them and kept them safe. She took a deep breath, and then swore aloud and spun a snapping kick at the dummy again. At least this time she was beating on a dummy, and not Sakn, Kiran, Cais... essentially, just about anyone she could have lashed out at as a student, she had. Now she was a fighter. Her temper was much more even, as it had been in the beginning, but she still had these moments of just wanting to pummel something. Especially now that she was living with someone other than her mothers; that was a new sensation.
In any case, very little about her had changed. She stood in the neutral training grounds and let loose a string of curses under her breath, before retreating to the benches at the side of the training grounds to collapse in exhaustion. Hime-san soon joined her, chittering and trying to fix her gross hair. "Thanks, Princess," she mumbled. She was angry this time not because of a Lunarian, but because she wanted so badly to get out, she wanted to be deployed. She didn't want to sit here looking pretty and getting blubbery, and she wasn't about to embrace housewifedness. Her own word, naturally.
"Emperor save me, I could use a distraction," she admitted, letting herself slouch against the wall. Her braid attached to something fixed to the wall behind her, and it took Hime-san's helpful fingers to free her, after which she tore down the poster and stared at it. It was painted with some kind of calligraphy brush, and it looked pretty official. It was an advertisement for a "medicine elder" who dealt specifically in anger management. Yue Lao snorted.

Thud!
Cais grunted as his head fell forward on the kitchen table for the third time in a row. His hands sat clenched against his legs while he sat on his calves, staring with an intensity down at the hard wood. There was a second grunt as he removed his head and rubbed the spot with a hand tenderly.
"Care to repeat that once more?" He said, looking at the fiery eyes of his mother as she stared down, looming over the table. Bach Yen was a formidable foe and remained stoic despite her son's reluctance to listen. "Medicine. Elder." She put in two sharp tones. "I am not going to have any more work ruined by your wayward temper." Cais stared, but said nothing despite the heat rising from his inner core. There was never any use in arguing with a woman who was usually so mild mannered and sweet, though the nagging questions pulled at his heart.
A sharp jab of her finger into his shoulder snapped him into motion. "You're going." She put simply, shooing after him to the door. With a slam of the door Cais was alone on the street, blankly staring back where he'd been pushed from. "Feh. Anger issues." He grumbled, kicking away a rock as he began to walk. Surely he knew himself best? What use could some old Lunarian be in the matters of his own inner being? Cais spit and moved on.
She might have said go, but she never said to stay there. He thought with a sly grin. He'd go, knock on the door lightly, then spend the rest of the day at the beach. Then everyone could be happy.

The anger, after several hours of punching and kicking, had still not abated. And so, out of curiosity, boredom and irritation, Yue Lao decided to seek out this "medicine elder." It sounded ridiculous, really. Sara hadn't once suggested that Yue could use some kind of medicinal help with her temper, and Sara was the only healer Yue Lao ever needed. Well, Sara didn't really see her temper in the first place; only specific Lunarians were ever subject to Yue Lao's fiery anger.
And by chance, or circumstance, she smacked into one of those very same Lunarians. At first, she kind of smiled, because he was someone she knew and had once gotten along with. Then, she remembered that Cais was technically the enemy. Or something. In any case, she was in a bad mood. But she wasn't about to let that get to her. Was she?...
"Still don't watch where you're going?" she asked, with a smile that turned more into a smirk than anything else. The fellow fighter was a lot older, certainly, much more grown up.
She shook her head, and tried to calm down a little. Yue leaned back, and stared straight up at the sky, puffing her cheeks out. Hime-san leapt at her braid, pulling and tugging her head down. She sucked in a breath, grabbing the base of her braid, and whipped around to stare at her monkey. She stared back at Cais, and said: "At least you're not as annoying as this princess, here. I think he needs anger-management, not me."
It was at that point Yue Lao started to mumble about medicine elders.

Cais walked for a long while with hands at his side in deep, scowling thought. Surely this was a waste of time - getting rid of his anger - the idea was simply laughable to him. He felt himself snort at the idea, even if it could be done what would be the point in it. That was how he worked, his drive, his purpose. Another snort. Truly there was really no point-
Thud!
Cais felt his body strike against another and felt his hands ball into fists at the sensation. With a twitch of an eye he recognized the voice and felt the pit of his stomach erupt in flames. "And I see you're just as pushy as ever." Cais said, his voice lowering an entire octave. There wasn't much he could say - he hadn't been graced by her presence in a long while, he'd almost forgotten what sort of hate he could feel.
But the energy just wasn't in him and he felt his body loosen a bit. With a perplexed look to the monkey he took a few steps back. "Only someone like you would have a pet like that." He said with tilt of his head.
"But regardless, I have prior things to... go ignore." There was a hum in his voice and then he stopped to take another curious gaze at the fighter staring back at him. "Medicine elder?"
He felt a groan coming on.

Instead of dignifying him with an answer right away, Yue Lao cast her eyes upwards, crossed her arms over her chest, and then shrugged, as if it didn't bother her overly much. "Of course I'm pushy, I'm the one and only Yue Lao," she replied, with a deep bow, her feet sliding on the ground. They were, as per usual, bare except for their wrappings. For her part, Yue Lao could remember their conflict, but it felt ... distant. She had tried to let go of things before, tried not to let her old habits stop her.
Lately she had just been so frustrated and tired, though. She could feel her mood darkening, day by day. Still, she was tired of being angry, and just relaxed, not defeated but as if she had been deflated back to her regular personality. "Yeah-- he's extremely irritating, so you don't even know how right you are." Irritating, just like me, was the implication within. Still, Yue beckoned Hime-san onto her shoulder, and rubbed at his head. He curled his tail around the back of her neck, and held on with one tiny hand.
"Prior engagements to ignore?" she asked, with a snort. "Yeah, I'm supposed to see one for my supposed anger issues," she explained, with a heavy sigh. "Why?" Eyes narrowing.

He felt the urge to slap his forehead with a loud clap, but refrained the action to a more subtle groan. Pinching between his eyes he released a long, exasperated sigh before glaring back at her again. "Not that it's anything to you, but mother has decided to sign me up for this medicine elder thing because I'm too "angry" all the time." He said, placing stress on the word "angry" with an eye roll. Folding his arms tighter to his body he met her eyes again.
"Anger issues huh?" He said with a small laugh. "I guess we do have something in common." Another snort escaped while he fidgeted under her gaze. One of the things he hated to admit most was anything in common with a member of the Legion. It was easier to hate, easier to be unforgiving when in his mind they had remained the shadows of evil he'd always believed them to be.
"Well go home." He said, moving past her suddenly. "It's my turn and I'd be better off doing this alone." There was an angry edge to his voice, but it was fleeting as he moved towards the small building with a quick pace.
The quicker he could get in, the quicker he could leave.

It looked like as mad as Yue Lao could get, Cais was also frustrated today. Except she couldn't really tell the difference, because as far as she could recall, he had been irritable consistently in their youth. She assumed little had changed. She didn't believe she had a permanent anger problem, but she supposed it was sort of an issue given how frustrated how quickly she had gotten lately.
Yue snorted as he said his mother had signed him up for the medicine elder. She was about to reply, when he pointed out it seemed like they had something in common. She looked at him strangely, her mouth curling into a hint of a smile. For him to admit that was either a slip of the tongue or a big step: looking at himself as anywhere near a Legion member was impossible for him, she knew that. Unlike Yue and her problematically fluid understanding of friendship and war, Cais seemed to have the right mindset for a fighter who could survive on the battlefield. No fear of harming his friends there, because he would not make friends with Legion members. As far as she knew.
"At least that's all we have in common," she offered him, as he looked like it had probably made him uncomfortable to admit they had a common element. Least of all art, Yue was thinking. And then, as she thought about it more, that wasn't true; her art was her brewing, and his involved glass. They weren't so different all the time, maybe. Yue sighed and stalked after him.
"Forget that, I'll get scolded if I go off alone without doing this. Besides, we could go together! Old buddy," she teased, trying to keep her anger on a tight tether.

"Damn right that's ALL." He snorted unhappily, shoving the door open with enough force to shake the small building. His skin was crawling, but there it was. A fleeting look in his eyes as he looked back at her. There was similarity somewhere between them, a similarity he wanted to be blind to. With his calloused hand wrapped around the doorframe he turned his eyes into the small and musty space with a guttural grunt like that of an animal.
"Suit yourself." He flinched at the word "buddy" and cast an angry look with no words towards the seasoned fighter. There'd be nothing for it as he was well aware of - she was probably just as stubborn as he was. There was a tentative step into the small building and he sneezed at the dust, ducking down past the entrance and searching quickly over the area.
"Hello? Medicine Elder?" He called with a cough. From behind he could sense her presence and shook his head. "We.." he stressed, "...are here for your services." It was clear he was impatient, but at least tolerating for now.
But who knows how long that would last.

As bad as Yue's temper could be, and it had been pretty awful lately, Cais seemed to really ... not want to be near her. Which she could understand, definitely. They hadn't ever really been friends, not as soon as they realized they were on opposite sides in an all-consuming war.
"I will suit myself, thanks, that's all that I do! Who'd suit us me if not myself? Take care of you," she said; she'd clearly started to ramble by the end.
She did grin broadly as he used the word we, however. At the moment, she was entertained, but the bubble of anger risen earlier would surely have to burst eventually; when it did, it would not be pretty.
Something stirred in the shadows, and she heard a clacking sound, much like bones hitting one another. "Is he... toying with us?" she asked, arching a brow and crossing her arms over her chest.

If he could scowl any harder he was certain his face would crack into pieces as he cleared his throat again, louder and with a "hmph" to follow. He gave a dirty look back at Yue. "I'm sorry, you're still talking?" Sour couldn't even begin to cover the definition of his mood.
He hated to admit her right, but he did begin to feel that there was something a little off about the entire affair. "Well if you're not going to help, should we just leave then?"
Cais waited for a reply, but the sound seemed to continue, a little louder than it had started. "Fine." He muttered, turning around completely.
"Try your luck you-" A bony hand seemed to appear from no where as it landed on his shoulder, causing him to seize up and turn slightly. The grip wasn't deathly, though there was a firmness in it - yet nothing like agitation or anger to support it.
"Impatient, aren't we?" He heard a low voice speak behind him and pulled away, moving nearer to Yue and staring back at he could only assume as the Medicine Elder.
Clearing his throat he shook his head. "So you're the Medicine Elder?" And here he had been expecting something completely different. He nearly sighed but refrained out of some sort of respect.
He really just wanted the whole thing done with.

"Sorry, you're still breathing my air?" Yue retorted, her good mood abating. She started to mess around with some books and a mortar and pestle that had been left lying around. She stared into it, sneezed, and accidentally inhaled, brown-orange powder floating up over the room. "...Nutmeg," she explained, wiping some of it off her nose and trying not to sneeze again.
"I will eat all of your... nutmeg, if you do not show up so--" Yue Lao's idle threat was interrupted by the bony hand on Cais' shoulder, and the Medicine Elder appeared just like that.
Yue, without meaning to, edged a little closer to Cais. She was, admittedly, on the defensive now. It had been trained well into her. This was not a good location for an ambush, after all.
The Medicine Elder did appear kind of.. frail. "Well, we have some problems that need, uh, solving according to our dear families." That, and Yue was tired of biting off the heads of everyone she cared for..
"Before you can manage your temper, you must learn patience. You must learn to communicate," the Medicine Elder said, his bony fingers tapping up and down slowly.

Cais's eyebrows furrowed and he cleared his throat, trying to keep his tone and volume down to an acceptable level. "Not to be rude, but isn't that what we're supposed to see YOU for?"
His eyes wandered to Yue, then back at the Medicine Elder, who hadn't seemed moved or even emotionally connected to Cais's words.
"I help those who know how to help themselves." The Elder went on to say, turning his back to the two and rummaging through a small drawer. "Communicate to each other for starters, then we can see if you can be helped."
Cais let out an audible growl, clenching a fist as the all-familiar burning began to swell over into tone. "We came all the way here because of the flier, and you're refusing to deal with us until we talk to each other?" The Medicine Elder merely gave a glance to Cais, with a small nod before going back to his "work".
It was enough to set him off and Cais let out a sharp punch at the nearest beam of the small structure, setting the whole thing to tremble just slightly. There seemed to be no true reaction from the Elder and Cais let out a sharp. "Fine." before turning, fuming out of the building and into the nearest alley, taking another hand to a defenseless tree.
There was too much, it was all too much. Truly when his mother had mentioned it, he did feel it a bore, and maybe useless but inside he had hoped maybe there could be a way to help him. With another loud growl he slammed his head into the tree, letting it slump. There he remained, eyes closed while breathing hard, fighting the fire in his body which normally led him to destroy whatever he came across.
But if the Elder couldn't help him, what would?
