The roar of the crowd was deafening and Cais scanned the crowd in an almost awe. He was holding his arm carefully as it was still wrapped in bandages. Though his eyes were away from her he could feel the eyes of the medic burning into the back of his skull. His body was tired, aching and the wounds of the embedded netting from his previous fight were deeper than he thought. He'd been far too reckless and - as the medic had stated - shouldn't have even made it this far, and shouldn't continue.
On his arms he wore only one of his weapons as the bandaged arm was useless to him now. The young fighter was far too stubborn to give up. It was his own lack of foresight that had gotten him in such a predicament. Then again, it was his own "reckless" behavior which had gotten him this far in the first place. Regardless of his current state, whether it would end up being his downfall or not, Cais could say he was happy.
He always had worked so hard, even to get this far was some kind of blessing or fluke. How tantalizing victory sounded... Cais's attention snapped back as he turned from the cheering crowd and watched the other side of the ring as his opponent entered. This was it, his final battle of the tournament. Let's begin.

Zuyao took his time in entering the arena, seeming oblivious to the cheering crowd as he finally emerged from the tunnels. The white-haired monk was adorned in the traditional orange robes of his art, a stark contrast with the plain clothes he had donned earlier. While the man hadn’t entered the tournament for fame, it was in his interest to let the rest of Lunaria know that the temple was still a strong entity.
He didn’t intend to lose, after all. Bowing low, fist in open palm, he paid proper respect to his opponent before lowering his body into his trademark fighting stance. He would allow the boy to begin the fight; it was not in the nature of monks to provoke.

The crowd seemed to cheer louder when the other entered, then suddenly all went silent. Cais stared in the way of his opponent and blinked curiously. He couldn't say he'd ever laid eyes on this monk, but had heard that they were well trained. He felt awkward, staring down at his naked, bandaged arm and back to the one still able to carry his weapon. If he was able to win, it wasn't going to be made easy.
Cais watched for a moment, bowing his head slightly to him. He felt a sort of honor of being paired with a monk and took a moment to just look at him. It had started. Cais wasted no time again, taking off towards him. It was mainly to test the waters, but he darted to the left and went to strike at him with his weaponized hand. Something told him he wouldn't make a hit, but he'd surely learn something which could help him later.
He hoped.

The pale blue of Zuyao’s eyes sharpened when he saw his opponent’s muscles twitch, the telling indication that he was about to strike. Clenching his open palm into a fist, the monk knocked the boy’s wrist out of the way, deflecting the hit. He may have needed a weapon, but Zuyao needed nothing but his own fists.
Following his fist, he wrenched his body to the side, chasing the movement with a high and hard kick. When he found his feet again, it was as if he’d barely shifted from his original stance.

Cais fell backwards in the matter of seconds and slid against the ground on the ring. He got up a moment later, rubbing the area where he had been kicked. A very well trained monk. Cais thought, looking back at him. It was grace, poise and... many of the qualities the young fighter lacked. His injured arm called out angrily as blood spots began to show on the bright white bandages. The arm hadn't gotten a direct hit but as he had slid had become irritated and opened.
He stared at his weapon and back to the monk again. His style demanded being close to his opponent, and in this case that was only going to get him into another position for a strong attack. His mind was racing with ideas which all seemed to fail over and over again through the scenarios in his head. There was one idea. One stupid, reckless, fleeting idea... Cais smiled a little, a genuine smile of appreciation towards the monk before rushing at him again.
He began to undo his weapon on his hand, holding it rather than wearing it. Cais had only one shot in his current condition, and stubbornly he continued forward.

White eyebrows knitted together slightly, an expression of surprise from the monk. He wasn’t sure what his opponent was about to try now, but it did not appear to be related to any school of martial arts. Actually the longer he studied the boy’s movements... the more it appeared to be a hail-Goddess move.
Either way, Zuyao wasn’t planning on getting hit by the blades. He ducked forward as Cais approached, using the momentum of his half-somersault to swing both legs high and up towards his opponent before landing on one foot. The other foot touched the ground a mere second after, sliding backwards to return him to his original stance.
When his gaze fell upon the boy again, he shifted upright and bowed once more.

It was reckless, and stupid and... didn't pan out in the least. Cais was down, his own momentum turned against him in a way as he collided into his opponents legs. Seconds later he was on the ground, gasping as the wind had been knocked out of him. Widened, his eyes found his opponent and there was a small smile on his face as he continued to gasp.
His weapon lay on the other side of the monk as Cais had been able to at least throw it as he had intended. There had been too much movement for the free-flying blades to hit anywhere near his intention and he stared at the tiny bit of red on the monk's face as though the blades had missed, they seem to have given him a tiny cut. At least I can say I hit him with something. Cais thought as his chest heaved.
Even if he had been in perfect condition he was certain this particular monk was far better trained than he was. His moved were fluid, strong and didn't waste energy as Cais often did with his usual barreling forward tactics. His smile continued though he was deaf to everything else from the force of the air escaping him. Nodding his head as he could he managed to gasp out a few words.
"Good fight. I'm glad to see a winner like you." Which was the truth. He knew the temple to be a neutral ground, and maybe for the time being was the best thing for the war torn nation. Finally Cais allowed himself to pass out due to a lack of proper oxygen. Regardless of the outcome, he was still proud to have gotten as far as he did.
But it showed there was still so much more for him to learn.
