Character Sheet:Nin
Adventure - Shady Dealings
Ninaeleth finds an amethyst worth 100 gold and a whip, and Kiylet finds a blue quartz worth 10 gold.

Full Name: Ninaeleth Isolde
Hex Code: #00563F
Child Personality:
1 Family Oriented - Nin is capable of forming extremely strong bonds with people she considers her family, family is of the utmost importance to her which makes loosing her young parents all the more painful for the little girl. Family will always come into consideration for her and she will demand a partner who will be as focused on them as she.

2 Spiritual - Partially due to natural inclination and partially because of her early life experiences Nin is a very spiritual creature, seeing signs from the gods in the appearances of certain animals, getting messages from them and from how the shells on the beach are arranged after the tide recedes. She is connected to the ocean through love but that love is slightly tarnished because it was the sea that broke her parents along its rocks when her father's ship hit a reef. So the sea is home but also a reminder of what she has lost, she sees it as sort of a diety in itself and its mysteries waiting for her to come and discover them. She usually prays at least once a day and will read the signs constantly.

3 Powerful - When one looses control of one's life at an early age, one may seek to rectify it in an adult life. Things must be planned out and communicated clearly to make a plan work, she will train hard to become a good warrior no matter which path she may choose. She will work to maintainn that power through connections, networking, climbing physically and mentally to the top of the heap as much as she can, she will try to do it on her own merits as well.

4 Intelligent - She is a smart little girl with not much left of the screen that forms from parents between children and their world, she will hate to be talked to like a small child, preferring to be talked to like an equal adult, in later years this will translate to equality as a female, beware the chauvenists. She will like to think things through before acting and will be a very good strategist. Due to her past she is a bit more jaded already then many younglings who have not had a similar or equivalent experience.

She will be a bit shy in her youth, coming into more confidence as she gains experience and confidence, after a prentice she should be right on track and more stable than many others her age.

Child History: Nin was born to a young water couple, one was a treasure hunter named Inala and her father was a fisherman call Kolvack. They were both adventurous spirits and raised their daughter in the same manner often taking her with them at a young age on adventures, showing her tidepools as a baby and collecting shells, they did everything together as they were a very close knit family. Nin was closest to her father Kol. He was hers and she had him wrapped right around her precious little finger, her mother seeing their connection hoped for a son so that she might experience something similar to the intense closeness.

As she grew older her parents needed to go out on longer and longer treks to help finance their budding family. Her mother had recently gotten pregnant again and they didn't have much money to begin with so they had to go and gather resources. Her Mother heard of a treasure up the coast line that promised to set them up for two years if she could locate it. They never told Nin what the treasure was but she was excited that her parents would go on a top secret special mission for her and her unborn sibling.

That was until they didn't come back and her babysitter started to panic. When people finally came to the door with news of her parents death, Nin blacked out. How could this have happened to her, no her parents were out there hiding she knew, she raced outside and the babysitter had to sprint to catch her, then they had to keep a constant watch on her because she would find innovative ways to go and look for herself. It wasn't until someone brought back the special shell that her mother had always worn that she believed them.

Her parents were gone, what was there for her on this earth anymore, she had no close family, no sibling, just the memory of the start of one. She was placed in the orphanage and was there for about six months, slowly loosing hope that anyone would adopt her, soon she stopped trying so hard and only glanced at couples who came by too look. That was until Isolder chose her because she needed him the most and reminded him of the sister he had never met just as she had never met her sibling.

Swamp Lady

Nin threaded her fingers through the arm shallow water at the shore. Her hearthad always belonged to the sea, from when she could first remember her parents had brought her to the beach. Her adoptive father had carrried on the tradition. Now that was was a prentice she found herself coming to the shore of her own violition. Something plled at her but she couldn't tell what it was, or why.

"Are you going to tell me why you bring me here?" She asked, not expecting an answer and recieving none she dug her toes deep into the sand pensively. She alwyays felt more balanced after coming here. She sighed. But today something really bugged her, she still was not sure which path she should take. her younger sister had been wish-washing betweent bow and witch doctor and had come home one day with aspirations of being a sword fighter. Maybe that was why she struggled , maybe she had not looked at every option. She very strongly felt that whatever she did would have to be spiritual in some way, she vaguely remembered some of what her mother taught her. She just needed to leanr more, that was all.

NIn sighed and listened to the wind in the trees.
Perhaps beast charming , as fun as that would be, wasn't enough to satisfy her. She could focus on one and make the other a hobby perhaps, oh it was so frustrating to have to decide like this.

She had a dim grey memory of a woman who lived deep in the delta, it was chock a block full of snaptrotters in there, but her mother had needed cream for a bugbite on her hand and had brought her there.
She remembered that the lady had her face covered as they approached. She had also had many strange decorations around her place, skulls, feathers, dangly things that made music. She barely remembered the bugbite, the salve had worked though it stank to high heaven.
She frowned and sidled over to a fisherman hanging out at the beach. "Do you by chance know the directions to lady Tan...Tana...Hmm." She had forgotten the woman's name.
"Lady Tanagua you mean? Yes, you have to stick to the path that goes down once you get to the floating shrimp mangrove. If you stay on that path you go through the snaptrotters breeding grounds, her house is on the very edge, its one of the small boats at the shore and paddle over."

The entire time he had been speaking, he had been reeling in line. Now he flicked the hook back out again.

"You look like her,"
"Who?"
"Your Mother."
Nin blushed and quickly left. That guy probably had more memories of her mom than she did. Tears wettened her eyelashes but she sucked them back in. She was bound and determined to find theis lady even if she had to trek into the swamp.
Pack filled she stepped out of the door.
Sometime later she arrived at the delta. The sun blazed, the swamp smelled damp and hot. Birds of all kinds flooded the delta with charming melody.
Nin watched her step and delved deeper along the path sticking closely to the instructions she had been given.
Soon she arrived at the house, if you could call it that.
It rose majestic and huge, built around a huge healthy looking tree.
Nin was absolutely fascinated a voice called out to her as a figure emerged from the extensive garden.

"Well hello, is there something I can do for you?"
"Well yes, I was hoping for advice," She could tell from the woman's green eyes that she was smirking from behind the mask.
"What kind; professional, financial, romantic?"
"Professional please, I remember visiting you with my mom, I want to know if I have any aptitude for what you do."
"Well it has been an absolute age since I had a decent prospect for a apprentice to appear."
The woman stepped back and looked her over. Nin had the feeling that this wisewoman saw more than the average woman.

"Hmm, well you look well and sound, why don't we go inside and discuss it over tea."

Nin surmised that her teacher was a hybrid, her vivid green eyes were leaf, yet her skin was the smooth blue of a Matorian.
She wondered if the mask hid scars on her face or if the mask covered something else.
The woman watched her acutely as they passed through the garden, Nin wondered what she was looking for. They entered the house which was neat, tidy and decorated tastefully with wood and other natural materials.
The woman put a kettle on the fire to boil.
"You said you came with your mom didn't you?"
"No I hadn't why?"
"I recognize you , you were bitten by a viperfly, likely you had disturbed its eggs by accident."
Nin was doubly impressed by the woman's memory and knowledge. She had barely remmebered the day herself, it was so long ago.
"Quite," Was all she could think of to say. "May I ask why you wear the mask?"

"I wear it to prevent certain passers by from becoming royal pains in the butt. They would get obsessed with my face you see. " She winked and removed the mask. She was the most beautiful woman, Nin had ever seen. She had cascades of very blue hair, which faded to black at the tips, her large green eyes blinked slowly but were crinkled with amusement.

"Do you understand now?" The woman grinned, "If they knew that there was someone alone in the delta who looking like me, I would never get rid of them, the lot of them would try to save me from myself. I'm not ready to settle down or try to fit a man into my life."

Nin cleared her throat and let out a small chuckle. "Yes I bet that would be a drag wouldn't it?"
"Ah the kettle has boiled, come lets have tea."
The woman took a wooden case, it had purple wood fitted perfectly into the main piece of the lid which was a normal wood color. Inside were three large jars which held dried tea leaaves along with blue and pink petals which made the tea look more lively. The woman paused, "What is your name girl?"

"Ninaeleth."
"Ahah." The woman chose the middle jar.
"Mine is Kaa'alah."
Tea made and served. They sat chatting Kaa'alah examining her character and Nin sharing more about herself than she usually di. But there was something sincere about this woman.
"Ahh done with your cup, may I see it?"
The woman held out an elegant long fingered hand. Nin looked at her oddly but gave it to her.

"Mmm I see," Kaa'alah peered into her cup tilting the cup, he entire focus on the contents.
"Well than, what do you see in my cup?"
Nin blinked, "See?"
"Yes look at th tea leaves, do they form recognizable shaes, what do those shapes tell you about the person who drank the tea."
"A test already?" She hadn't even been approved as an apprentice and there was a test.
"Tut tut girl, quick, I haven't got all day afterall, weeds wait for no woman."
Nin grasped the cup and looked inside.
Quite a bit of the material was clumped over on one side in a mound, there was also an "s" shaped formation reminiscent of the bend in a river, there also appeared to be a sun and a moon.
"You didn't always live here did you?"
Kaa'alah grinned.
"No I have not always been here."
"What else?"
"You used to live by a snowy peak with the clear river beside it."
"Aye girl, thats it."
"I have good news and I have bad news, which would you like to hear first?"
"Uh the bad news." getting the worst over with was always easier in the end.
"You failed two out of three tests, the good news is that you passed the most important one."
Nin deflated but looked up at the last thing Kaa'alah had said, so there was hope.
"But first we must open your heart and teach you how to breath, and then we really must fix your aura." Kaa'alah shook her head in disapproval.
"No this won't do at all, you must come back after the third moon, right after the storm. Naturally you will be in a better position then."
Either this woman was brilliant or batshit crazy. She got up, bowed and took her leave so that the lady could get back to her garden.
Nin made the laborious trek back across the swamp, which was significantly more creepy in twilight. How long had she been there anyway?"
If she had thought the delta to be noisey by day it was nothing on the cacahphony of night. She wondered how any creature could sleep through this. Now wonder why snaptrotters were grumpy in the mornings. She had grown up around snaptrotters and knew how to handle them. But it was still creepy. Once she was home she lay on her bed exhausted, but unable to sleep. What had the lady meant? She provided more questions than she solved.

Class Choice

It was a bright and sunny day in Matori, with only the ever present mild wind, it was far too tempting to go out and enjoy a day built for fun. Nin snuck out while the other two were asleep, their respective jobs tired both of them out. Nin was interested in taking lessons from Kaa'alah as well as Kiyelt. By combining them she felt like the perfect mix of witch doctor/shaman and beast charmer.
Nin had gone to visit Kaa'alah and remembered the delight on the woman's face as if she hadn't seen anyone as entertaining as Nin in years. Kaa said that that was why Nin had not read as a pure shaman, the spirits had decided that she was destined to go down a more interesting path.
"It is good, you listened." The woman had said.
Well, she was going to get her first practical seesion in. Racha had been trained enough that she could handle him without supervision.
Nin called Rasha to her and got him to lay down. She signalled for him to open his mouth and he stared at her. She signalled again and he finally opened his mouth looking bemused. She checked his teeth being careful not to touch his tongue which could trigger a snap that she wanted to avoid it at all possible. She was too young for scars.
His mouth was mostly healthy, according to her notes there was a snaggletooth and she wanted to keep an eye on it. She got him to close his mouth while she checked his the relfexes of his eyes with a candle as she had been taught. Racha went through the motions well enough. Kiyelt had put a lot of work into her pet over the last few months.
Now it was just for her to bond with him even more. Therefore she practiced checkups on him at least once a day.
She checked over the rest of him too, between claws and underarms.
"Well that went well enough." She scratched notes on her "patient," who was teaching her how a healthy snaptrotter looked and acted. For the most part he was quiet and placid in the sun, even more chill in the shade. They prefered to be in the water but could move more than well enough on land. Not to be underestimated ever.
She could only imagine what facing a large snaptrotter trained as a mount in battle would be like. Or any other large mount.
"Would you be viscious in a war?" She baby talked her giant snaptrotter. Racha purred an affirmative. That sound apparently meant that he liked her. She was overly delighted whenever he make the noise.
"Who's a good boy? Do you want a rat for being such a good boy?" She had bonded deeply with the snaptrotter in the intervening time, then again she had spent the bulk of that time here anyway. She was happy that the whole house had jobs now.
Her father seemed very pleased with both of his children and she was happy that she and her sister were making him proud. She cared about him like he was her own father. She loved both of them and her sister and the rest of her family that could not be with her now.
She had wondered about Ristadis for a bit seeing as the girl had been a bit mischeivous, though her sword work had given her a new purpose. Nin felt deep in her bones that she herself was in the ideal profession, in this way she could be a real help to those in need.
Then too she got to work with animals. it was probably one of the most noble and spiritually awoken jobs that she had heard of. She felt like she would be pretty stable as long as her home life remained so. She would have to see if anyone knew an animal healer. It would be nice to meet someone with the same job. Maybe Kiyelt could ask his friends, because she didn't know of anyone in Matori.

Nin Class Quest
It was very early morning, still black out, even the owls had gone to bed, when there was a frantic knocking at their hut door. Nin slept closest to the door for good reason, since she had studied for so long under two experienced and illustrious teachers, who both apparently forwarded her name to those who needed her specific skills.
When she opened the door it was to find a water male with average height and heavy build, his black hair along with aquiline features labeled hi as one of the Dorsay family. His companion was a heavily pregnant zanteer with a medium blue coat. Both were sopping wet in the rain. Nin invited them in, pointing at the towel cupboard and dried his zanteer off, while she listened to the reason for his visit. Apparently Sazy was having trouble giving birth. Nin toldd the man to go hime, she would keep Sazu overnight. He would sleep better at home and birth was a marathon. She had trained in breach birth, this was the case for Sazu. Nin scrubbed up and worked on the zanteer for a long time.
Thankfully it didn't take that long to get the breached pup out. The other four pups came without issue. The first pup didn't survive but there were four new little lives sitting like snug-a-bugs iin her ap whie the Mom cleaned herself off. One baby was a rose color, another a brick brown, the third was a rich blue-navy color, while the fourth was a soft green. It was a living, wriggling fuzzy little rainbow. Nin was so in love, she was sad that one had not made it, but that was a part of life after all. She was the first to see the tiny pugged faces of brand new zanteers. Tat in itself was reward enough. Every instance was learned from.

This had been her first solo adventure in animal healing and overall it had been a success. She had definitely found her field. She checked on the little family periodically through the night, gleaning very little sleep for herself in the process. She pumped herself full of coffee in the morning so that she at least looked bright and chipper by the time the owner of the zanteer family came by. Fortunately he understood about the pup who had not made it, saying it was common in breach births.
He in fact reassured her. She asked him if she could examine the pups but in the next month. He readily agreed and she was able to digest the fact that she had successfully treated a patient who wouldn't have made it without her, by herself. She had been tried and had passed. She sipped her coffee and made a big breakfast, loaded with every fixing imaginable. She became so full that she fell asleep in her comfy chair with a big smile on her face.
The day had been the reward for the years of dedication she put into it. Sleepless nights and hair pulliing amounts of study, gruelling drills, real life emergencies all culminating in one night.
Tears leaked down her face when she woke, all the stress leaving her body she could really trust herself. Was this where she graduated to an adult specializing in her craft? She had made it, and the zanteer was happily at home nursing her pups and that is how she pictured them. She fell into a comforting sleep after that. When she woke the family zanteer was curled in front of her chair sleeping. She smiled.

Beast Charmer Solo 1

Nin wouldn't say that she was jealous of her husband, knowing that he was older and that overtime he had built the skills that had made him who he was. It was just so hard to compete with him. So long as it involved beasts anyway, Kiyelt was awful at battling people apparently unless he was at war.

He was so helpful and so knowledgable and she felt somehow like she was underperforming. She had to get better. It was this kind of thinking that had her doing her new favorite sport; wild snaptrotter taming.

It was not for everyone and Sky the Janarim had definitely saved her butt more than once but because of him, she had the courage to continue going out on her little outings.

The real trick was to get the bridle into the snaptrotter's mouth without being bitten. Her dexterity and reflexes had greatly improved and she could tell when she was working on animals medically that her body was stronger and she was more confident and competant dealing with difficult patients.

Class Quest
A tropical storm was rolling in, the great dark clouds blotted out the sun. Nin’s hair stood on end. Some strange feeling was making her restless. It was going to be a long night. She stoked the fire and sat down by candle light to read and sip her favourite tea. She took a deep breath to steady herself before bravely plunging headfirst into her novel. She didnt often have time to read, between her job and her family.
She read a few paragraphs and glanced around suspiciously, frozen and waiting for a randy husband or one of her excitable children to come stampeding in to disturb the quiet: crackling, flickering, imminent major storm mood that permeated their home at the moment.
She inhaled the rich wood scent that seeped out of the walls when it rained and smiled slightly in utter contentment.
She was just getting to the good part when a loud and slightly frantic knock came at the heavily carved wooden door covered in radaku, snaptrotters, janarim and a bevy of other endemics. She could not keep herself from rolling her eyes. It must be awfully important to brave this kind of storm. She folded the corner of the lge she was on and placed the book on her side table regretfully.
She crossed the room to the door and cracked the heavy thing open to get a look at her anxious visitor.
A very distressed and disheveled Matorian woman looked back at her through a veil of tangled dark blue hair.
“Please help me.” She was talking fast, “I have a Keldari that is acting strange, she is very sick, please come help her now.”
Nin nodded, whirled and gathered her emergency healing kit, used on the animals she treated. Kiyelt had taught her many things about the other ares of taming but she truly excelled when it came to healing animals.
“Lead the way.” she put a note on the door for her family, that way they wouldnt rip the whole jungle apart looking for her.
They rushed back to the ladies home where they came across the ladies iceling husband, holding a sad, sluggish Keldari in his lap, sharing his warmth. It was very sweet, obviously the animal meant the world to them. Nin smiled brightly at the male, “May I see?” She held her arms out, taking the beautiful snake and tying a small band of colorful cloth about the snoot. She wasnt about to take a risk of getting a bite. “I promise to be gentle,” she told the snake and her family. She had a suspicion about the problem as she had had many patients from the area with it before.
She palpated the belly and smiled when she realized her suspicions had been correct. “It looks like she is a bit egg bound, this tends to happen quite frequently, should be an easy fox for this species.” She began rubbing the snakes belly gently but firmly, “She is having trouble passing the eggs, please get a box of sand ready, take it from a warm part of the beach of you can, the heat will help greatly.”
She had some herbs too if it came to that. Always come prepared she had learned over many many dangerous calls. It might be difficult for her to administer herbs to the Keldari but the beast seemed to really trust her handlers. They set the maternal ward up and all three began taking turns massaging the poor snake. After about an hour they set her on the large bowl of warmed gathered sand and watched her give birth to a mostly healthy clutch of eggs. The people were weeping and the mother was resting wrapped protectively around her children. It was in a word; beautiful.
Nin refused payment and was instead gifted with bird eggs for her trouble venturing out in the strorm. This was the nature of their community they were there for each other. Besides this had been a fun adventure. Besides her family were ever hungry.

Blurb:
Nin has proven her metal in a situation which was a real danger to her patient. Leaving in an emergency from her peaceful home shows her dedication to her craft and that she takes the whole thing very seriously. She is maturing into a responsible and successful woman. She has learned to trust her skills both with animals and the people which whom she must inevitably deal with as well in her profession. She is mastering her craft slowly but not to the detriment of her morals. She remains a highly esteemed member of her community due to the sacrifice she willingly gives of her personal time.
