When they were close enough that the houses were visible she looked up at Syaa before pointing to the main one. "I stay in that one." Since she didn't have a need for a house of her own she still had a room in her parent's home. The thought had crossed her mind to be put down but then he'd figure out that her ankle wasn't hurt.
She looked around to see where everyone was at but when she didn't see anyone in the immediate area she relaxed a bit. At least her brothers wouldn't faint at the sight of her allowing a guy to carry her home. She was very strict about allowing people to her family's residence, let alone males. Kina also took the time to look around and see if there was any of her dad's beasts to worry about. That meant she had to hold onto Syaa a bit more firmly so she could look over his shoulder again.

He carried her right up to the door. "Is there anyone I should go get or are you good?" He thought the ranch to be a most beautiful property with all kinds of animals looking curiously at the very tall humanoid that had invaded their turf. A few of the janarim had tracked them from the entrance to the house, but since he was with Kina and not in distress the beasts had left them unaccosted.
He had noticed her looking around nervously, but was unsure why. The bandits wouldn't dare follow them in here, not with those janarim teeth surely.

She heard voices and came from her reading within the bowels of the house. It was for once not a busy day for her as Kiyelt had offered to take on her portion of chores so she could have a bit of a day off. She recognized Kina's beautiful voice, but she couldn't place the deep base, the closest to it was Thallassa but Thal was otherwise occupied today and shouldn't be home. Also the guy had a mild accent. She was curious now and lurked in the foyer behind the still shut door.

She thought about it but shook her head. "No, everyone should be busy with chores." Since it was still daylight hours then that meant her family should be busy with the beasts and other things that needed tending to. Of course she was also faced with how to not get caught faking her ankle.
"The door should be unlocked." She leaned forward to try and reach it but with him holding her she felt a bit unbalanced and went quickly back to holding onto him. Kina thought about it for a second before turning to face him. "Uhm.. you can come inside. You just might have to uh.. duck.... or kneel." She had to throw that last one in there.

He opened the door only to see a familiar inquisitive face. "Er they were not all out doing chores Kina." To her Mother he said "Hello there, my name is Syaaryn, your daughter was injured by some thugs and I fished her out of the river, she has a sore ankle and is a bit chilled but otherwise unharmed." There she was in her Mother's care now, he was scot free right? Except he didn't really want to leave her yet. Must just be because she had been in great danger.

Well that certainly was not Thal. WHERE was Kiyelt when she needed him. The day had finally come! Kina had let someone that wasn't a blood relative..or posessed by one of their blood relatives onto the ranch and he was surfer boy handsome. "Hi dear, my name is Ninaeleth, I am Kina's mother. Kina let me see your ankle love." She went to her daughter immediately the light of the devil sparkling in her eyes.
She checked the ankle then eyed Kina..there was nothing wrong with it. She didn't say anything though, given her druthers she would let Kiyelt carry her around too. "What happened Kina?"

When he opened the door and said not all were out she snapped her head around to look at who was there. Seeing her mother she tensed a little. Well, that hadn't worked out the way she thought. No one was supposed to be home. Of course then Syaa introduced himself and gave her mother the whole story more or less.
She turned her head and looked at anything but her mother. When Nin came over to check her ankle she pressed her lips together and cleared her throat a bit awkwardly. "Oh uh.. must have turned it the wrong way when I fell into the river." Her clothes and hair were still damp. The look she gave her mother basically pleaded with her not to say anything. It would be embarrassing if Syaaryn found out she'd lied just to get him to carry her.
"Right.. can he take me to the front room so I can sit down.?"

He scooped the little woman up again, and strode into the sprawling ranch house, it was big, open, comfortable and cozy. He put her down on the appointed chair and then was not sure what to do with his seven foot frame, besides having to duck where the second floor roof was, there was an open area where the second floor didn't over hang so he edged over that way. If he had to duck too hard Kina would tease him and he was not kneeling right now no matter how hard she wanted him too.

"Yes of course, over here." She had indicated the chair and taking one look at their XXL guest she said. "I will go make some tea, you must be hungry too, won't you stay for dinner Syaaryn?" Her eyes cut to Ny, daring her daughter to contradict her, if he wanted to stay he could, he had done a good thing. She would just have to pretend her ankle was hurt for a bit longer. Nin hid a smirk and bit her tongue to keep her face straight. She adored Kina and it was never ever boring when she was around.

She continued to cling to Syaa when he carried her, nuzzling close to steal his warmth again. Short lived as it would be now. Once she was sat down she wiggled a bit to get comfortable then watched as he moved away from her so he could stand upright. When her mother asked him to stay for dinner she panicked a bit.
Dinner would mean the rest of her family being there as well. Was her mother trying to embarrass her? She gave Nin a look before glancing at Syaa to see what he said. "Mom he likely has other things to do." She didn't want him to feel like he had to stay simply because her mother had asked him.

His heart skipped a beat as the little fire tiger had cuddled close again, he was starting to think it was less about being cold than he thought and that sent little sparks of electricity through him. He was hungry, he was always hungry and he didn't really have anything to do, his plans for the day had been thoroughly interupted by the little hybrids dunk in the river. "If it wouldn't be too much trouble I would like to stay." He was as ever a practical creature and food was always welcome.

She held back her squeal of delight and nearly ran for the tea pot..gracefully. Where was Kiyelt! There was hope for their recalcitrant daughter yet! With Honi off on adventures with that nice but somewhat dangerous Geian, Thal and his spicey leaf lady, and Ushi and Sae..well she would just say that things were looking up family wise. She brought the tea out and served them both. "Sorry about the ceilings we are rather average height for earthlings." At least there was an area he could stand up straight.

When she heard him agree to staying she gave a small whimper. Oh gods. She was going to have to introduce him to her family. And that meant she had to fake her ankle hurting. Knowing very well that her sister would be able to point out it was fine and likely would. Very verbally.
When her mother ducked away to put the tea on she looked at Syaa then snapped her fingers at him to get his attention. When she had it she crooked her finger at him to come closer to her, a small smile in place. With Nin coming back out with tea for them she tilted her head. "That's alright, he knows how to kneel. Don't you, Syaaryn." She pointed to the spot on the floor near her.

He looked at her Mother abashedly. Unsure of what to say or do. He had come this far and helped her out and he remembered how she had curled into him and had actually fallen asleep with his swaying gait. He sighed, rolled his eyes and knelt wondering if he had chosen right. Though the roof was rather short in places.

“Kina! Why would you ask such a thing of such a proud warrior.” She was more surprised that he actually did as she asked. Nin scanned their faves astutely. So there was something more than met the eye here. Kina felt something for him and he had listened to one of her daughters silly requests though from the eyeroll he knew it was indeed silly.
