Personality : Forest Ranger
Raised only by his mother, Thanatos is the Kirin equivalent of a forest ranger. He has inherited all her knowledge, her love of nature, and her kind, gentle spirit. However, he is more willing to venture out to other lands and explore. Beneath that mild exterior, Than is a crusader and a fierce fighter - if he perceives any wrongdoing he will immediately step forward and battle for a cause. Like his mother, he is nimble and light-footed, rather than powerful and heavyset.
As the only one of Silarial's children who she was unable to abandon, Than believes he has no other relations besides his father - any mention of whom he has noticed greatly distresses Sil. He is greatly determined to honour his mother's wishes and "be a good mate" to whichever mare catches his fancy. Not that he has the faintest idea of what that means.

Soft-spoken, shy and - like her grandmother - gentle, Sappheira is quite the little lady. She is a good deal more comfortable around her own family than strangers. A dutiful daughter, she has inherited both her mother's grace as well as her father's spirit - while bashful, she is not a coward, and will face down anything she perceives as a threat to her loved ones.

This dim-witted, brightly-hued mare could well be one of the perkiest Kirin around. Iris is seldom worried or upset, and maintains an optimistic outlook as much as she can. Having brought herself up, she is inexperienced in dealing with other Kirin, and sometimes her cheerful demeanor can be abrasive or insensitive to others. She is guileless and incapable of malice.

Lakshmi - The only other mare in the herd, and a good friend. She's very very lucky.
Tuyet - A wise and solemn stallion. I greatly approve of his mate. Impressive wings!

An unsavoury character, Nerissa enjoys manipulating others. Having spent a youth constantly worried about food, predators, and lack of seawater, she is overly-concerned with self-preservation, to the point that it harms her relationships with others (exception: again, her brother). Something in her drives her to be a great hunter by understanding her prey, and she spends a lot of time observing them and inspecting their corpses to find out how they "work".

Misc. Notes - Amphibian, or Not?
Nerissa's mottled skin is very, very pretty, but it dooms her to a life near the sea, or at least near water bodies. She definitely has to spend winter in the tropics. Smooth as a frog, this Kirin has to take a dip in water once every few hours or so - she is unable to withstand extreme temperatures. On the plus side she also appears to have better lung capacity, enabling her to spend quite some time underwater before having to come up to breathe. It is currently unknown whether her brother shares the same condition.

As devious as her mother, but a good deal more prone to mischief. She usually spends her days trying to figure out how to prank other family members while getting away with it.
Like Nerissa, Nesaea has an innate desire to know more about her surroundings; unlike Nerissa, she thinks autopsies are cruel, and has little interest in prey besides whether they will fill her stomach. Indeed, her area of study is in a direction she cannot travel - the sky. Nesaea believes that the natural beauty of the sea is nicely complimented by the stars that lie above. She is interested them both astrology- and astronomy-wise, often using them as navigational tools.

Personality: Weird
Jekyll and Hyde personality. Most days he's a gentle, thoughtful soul who likes to go for long walks alone. The longer he goes without blood, however, the more bestial he becomes. Usually his eye takes on a certain crazy glint, and he finds it increasingly difficult to talk to other Kirin or to even form coherent thoughts that don't involve hunting. He can't control these urges and usually hides himself away until he "solves" them.
He will occasionally go into a deep funk over being a vampire, but never stays in one for long because Khalidia pulls him out.
Alucard is always accompanied by a bat who refers to herself as The Runt, and she drinks blood too (in smaller quantities, usually daily). Small and feisty, she articulates herself in grunts and squeaks. Alucard can't understand her but can get the gist of what she means and feels.

Misc. Notes - A Vampire Kirin...
Is like a vampire bat - definitely living. This explains why he was born from an egg and not "turned", and also why he can't change other Kirin into vampires. Sunlight does not destroy him, but it definitely hurts. His skin burns easily. He can graze like other Kirin do, but still needs to hunt for blood once every fortnight or so. He is forced to do this because his teeth become more fang-like the longer he avoids blood, rendering him unable to eat grass/bark/etc. In all other aspects he behaves as normal Kirin do.
