The rain wasn’t much good to anyone, as a already muddy colored mare noticed that all that all other creatures had fled to the shelter of the trees. A snort coming from her masked muzzle, she turned away from the trees, one muddied hoof pulling itself free to only be sucked down again in a step. Bobbed tail flicked soggily over her rump as even the fabric clung to her slick sides. Water dripped in steady streams off its tattered edges, it needed a bath anyways. The blood that still faintly stained the tan colored fabric, it would all ever come out no matter how many baths it had. Blood red eyes peered out of the empty sockets of her skull mask, grateful for the rough edges that swayed the water away from them.
Today the mare was out looking for something, and as her luck would have it, it was raining! Not the best of conditions to be out searching for a ground dweller, but as it was she couldn’t think of any better time then now. Head lowering a bit, she sniffed at the muddied ground, figured there wouldn’t be anything but the scent of mud. Another huff of a snort came from the mare, perhaps today wasn’t quite the day to be out. Still, there was something nagging at her, something told her that… Well her gut felt uneasy about something and here she was. Stalking about in the mud and muck when she could have been in her reasonably dry grove. Pft, to gut feelings the mare thought coldly to herself.
Stalking about the cluster of large white stones, she searched the cracks and crevasses for something, that didn’t seem to be there either. Well it was all in vain to say the least, turning away from the stones, her tail flicking over her haunches and ears turning back. Stomping more ungracefully through the mud, Sauda headed back towards the trees and home. When she was just about there, something caught her attention, two strange mug and muck covered Kirin? Masked head tilting to one side a little, she set her still raised hoof down into the mud watching them. Once again letting the rain bath her already soggy coat even more.
“Now who do you suppose?” Was all that Sauda mumbled to herself as she looked to pair over.
