((Definitely in this RP last I checked: Iris, Nemesis Kenobi's Annora, Saedusk's Tuyet, elfstar89's Lakshmi. Other Nomad members are welcome to hop in, but I'd rather no more than another 3 of you joined..? Otherwise it gets really messy.)) Iris plodded slowly down the beach, occasionally stopping or deviating to nose at the sand. Whenever she found something, she would call Spiffy over - and the Benu would obligingly transport it to a nest of kelp they had made next to some large rock formations, where the whole group was supposed to meet up. By the end of her two-way trip to the end of the beach and back, the duo had acquired quite the pile of treasure - shells of various sizes, patterns and colours; strange pebbles which were too smooth and translucent and shiny to be pebbles; an iridescent fish scale. " I think we did pretty well, Spiffy!" exclaimed Iris as she took stock of the pile. The bird chirped once to acknowledge her, then continued to arrange everything out so it was displayed to its prettiest. The mare giggled, then turned to watch the beach. She could smell someone coming on the wind.

((I'm going to make the assumption that Lak has met Spiffy at the very least, dunno about Annora. ^^; ))  Lakshmi trotted out steadily, having spotted her friend from quite a distance. Her three children and her mate, Abhyagni, were busy that day, so the idea of a nice long run on the beach had appealed to her. After all, she loved the water, and there was something enchanting about the sea. Her dark green hooves kicked up a considerable amount of the soft sand until she reached the damper sand, which was easier to run on and meant that she kicked up much smaller clods of wet sand, which felt nice and cool to her feet.
"Iris! Spiffy! How are you?" she called out to the black and white pair with their striking markings. The sunlight made Iris shine like the inside of certain types of seashell she periodically found on the beach, and she was glad her friend had lighter scales, since a dark coloration seemed to always pick up the heat so easily!

Spiffy chirped a short greeting, then fluttered over to land on Lakshmi's back before bursting into song, inspired by the pretty mare.
"Hey, Lakshmi! Spiffy and I are doing just great... look at all the stuff we gathered!"
Iris stepped aside so that she wasn't blocking the whole glittering array from her friend's view.
"Any idea when Tuyet and his mate will be here?"

The journey had taken a bit longer than expected, but the sound of waves finally rose in the distance, catching the stallion's attention. This was where they had been guided and he was glad to have made it. So glad that he turned momentarily to Annora, promising that he wouldn't get too far ahead before picking up the pace. The ground turned spongier with each step until he finally hit sand. It wasn't overly familiar, as Tuyet had only made it to the beach a few times in his travels alone.
Teal eyes narrowed at the sudden intrusion of sunlight. Even so, as he glanced down the shore, he spotted the bright colors of two mares, one with a rather happy sounding Benu perched atop her. Smiling softly, he started towards them. It had been too long for his liking since their last meeting.

 Annora smiled, shaking her head ever so slightly as she followed at her own pace. Well, moving at her own pace was only part of the reason. Her Quetzil, Teimhnn had insisted on scurrying about between her hooves playfully. She had no desire to crush the little lizzard. Eventualy, however, Teimhnn climbed up Annora's tail most nimbly, curling up between her wings. He was clearly quite content, choosing to doze there.
It hadnt' taken her much longer to arrive. She stood beside Tuyet, overlooking the other two mares. "Well, go on." She nuzzled him affectionately. "You've been so excited to see them again."

The appearance of a familiar, very white figure further down the beach answered Iris's query faster than Lakshmi's could ever have.
"Nevermind, he's arrived.
OI, TUYET! GET YOUR SNOWY BUTT OVER HERE."
She'd already yelled that out before she realised someone else had gone up to Tuyet to stand beside him - a rather striking yellow and blue mare. Were those... wings...?
"THAT GOES FOR YOU TOO, PRETTY LADY!"
The rainbow mare lacked a sense of shame entirely.

There was a momentary distraction, though he didn't quite mind. Tuyet leaned to the nuzzle, thoughtfully oblivious until Iris's call shot through the air. He perked up. "I will, then," he told Annora with a slight chuckle. There was no other choice now, not that he would've decided to turn back. Moving again, he actually hadn't expected what came next. The smile he wore slipped into something more amused.
"Looks like you've already got a fan," he then joked, finding himself not wholly surprised at the rainbow mare's yelling. But he didn't turn back this time, instead he worked to close the gap between them and the other females. "Iris, Lakshmi," he began his greeting before completely reaching them, but it's not like they weren't expecting him at this point. "It's good to see you." It was much more reserved, but he was obviously happy.

She simply chuckled softly as she folded her wings against her sides. She followed Tuyet, though at her own, much more gradual pace. She wasn't shy, far from it. In fact, she rather enjoyed meeting new kirin. However, these mares were old friends of Tuyet. She wanted to give them time to make their greetings before her own introdution was made.

Lakshmi was also surprised by Tuyet's lovely winged friend. "Tuyet, where did you find that lovely Aririn? Please, get over here right now and introduce her to us!" she called out with a laugh. She hadn't heard much about that particular development, but she was happy for the herd's oldest member, Tuyet. It had been a long-standing joke amongst the herd members that Tuyet needed a lady friend, and it appeared he finally had one, for which Lakshmi was very happy and very excited.
She laughed at Iris. "No shame whatsoever, eh?" she asked good-naturedly. Lakshmi didn't really have that great a sense of shame either, as she enjoyed life a great deal. "I'd definitely like to know how he found and won such a beauty," she added with a broadening smile for the clearly happy couple.
((Sorreh it's so late; vacation can be hard on RPs. xp ))

"Come on, Tuyet," teased Iris. "No need to be so formal."
As the Aririn drew closer, Spiffy hopped down from Lakshmi's back and walked over to Annora. She canted her head to one side, and let out a querying chirp. The little Benu already recognised Tuyet and didn't hold much interest for the white stallion, but this splended new creature so like Iris, yet with feathered wings like herself, was a source of much intrigue.
"Oh, don't mind Spiffy. She's just checking you out because she's never met you before," said Iris hastily, hoping the new mare wouldn't take offence at her beloved companion.

The stallion stopped right in front of them. Where did he find her? Ears slid back as he put on a more thoughtful expression. He could easily say it felt like she had been with him so long that he couldn't quite remember where they had met. And yet, that would be surprisingly cheesy, even for a Kirin of his personality. "By a stream." was the straightforward answer he decided on.
Now that he thought about it, a lot of things seemed to happen to him when he stopped to take a drink. He'd met more than one new face that way and- Oh yes, he'd nearly forgotten. He was the connecting factor between the parties gathered here. It was rude to keep everyone in the dark for so long.
His maw opened to continue, but Iris's statement halted him and he smiled. Was he being formal, really? It made him laugh a bit that she had noticed something he rarely did. Yes, they were his family. So maybe he could learn to act a little more familiar with them, even if he could hardly tell he wasn't in the first place.
"Ladies, this is Annora," he introduced, turning back to the winged female. He waited until she was a bit closer before he continued. "Annora, this is Lakshmi and Iris." He nodded to the lotus mare and rainbow mare in turn before he was distracted by the Benu's movements. He huffed. "Good to see you, too, Spiffy," came the joke as he was snubbed for the more interesting party. He gazed momentarily at Teimhnin settled on Annora's back as if he expected attention from at least one little creature here.

She bowed her head in polite greeting and acknowledgement. "It's a pleasure to finally meet you. Tuyet has spoken fondly of you both." She smiled. "It was almost as though I knew you already."
She smiled gently, tilting her head to admire the Benu's beautiful feathers. "It's a pleasure to meet you as well, Spiffy." She folded her wings at her side once again. "It's quite all right, Iris. I'm familiar with having smaller creatures around for company.
Almost perfectly on cue, Teimhnin perked his head up. He scurried up Annora's neck, then around her horn, looking curiously at the Benu. Using his tail as an anchor, he wrapped it around Annora's horn, leaning out as far as he possibly could to better see the... odd.. feathered creature. He hissed and chattered away, moving his nimble fingers quickly, as though trying to communicate. Finally deciding he wasn't sure he liked another small creature being so attentive to his mare, he puffed out the frilled collar of his neck. With one last snort he leapt from Annora's head, to Tuyet's.

Spiffy squawked and hopped backwards as the strange long creature approached. In response to the puffed collar, she gave an angry "ZAW!", crown feathers rising and wings outstretched to make herself look bigger. That was really too much! With an indignant glance up at Teim's owner, she strutted back to her own, tail feathers waving slightly.
Iris laughed to see her Benu so offended, and allowed the bird to hop on board again.
"That didn't go so well! Great to meet you at last, Annora - and who is your companion?"
She'd met a Quetzil before, of course - Wystan, who was her daughter's mate, kept one called Bernard for company.

Lakshmi smiled at Annora. "It's a pleasure to meet you, too. Tuyet said nothing of you, and we figured he'd gone home for a while, he was gone so long," she said easily. She privately admired Annora's lovely wings, and wondered what it was like to fly. Lakshmi glanced at Tuyet. "That's enlightening, Tuyet, but could you tell the whole story? I do so love stories," she added encouragingly.
The interactions of the two familiars amused her. "Looks like Spiffy and the little quetzil are enjoying themselves," she said with an amused expression that clearly said she knew they didn't particularly care for each other, but it still amused her. She'd also met young Wystan's friend in passing.

Annora was doing her best to keep from laughing at her Quetzil companion. She was certain laughing would only prove to sour his mood further. Still, she couldn't help but find humor in the situation. "Goodness, I can honestly say I've never seen him act in such a way before." She turned her head, regarding her companion a few moments more, all the more amused that he had chosen to retreat to Tuyet, especially since she had guessed his frilled excitement was due to his possessive nature of Annora herself.
"My Quetzil companion is called Teimhnin." She smiled. "He's quite the character, as you can see."
With introductions of the frilled lizard in order, she nodded to Lakshmi, bowing her head once more. "Likewise, thank you."
