((Note to self: This is Clifton telling his parents about Kaze and her pregnancy. This will be the first time his parents have known about her, and that will be included in the dialogue later on. He doesn't know how many they will have yet, seeing as I don't know right now. )) Clifton couldn't believe his ears! He'd really not expected it to happen. What would this mean for him? No longer careless and worry-free, he would have responsibility.
He knew what he had to do. He whispered to his mate, as she lay sleeping, guarding her wonderful treasure. "I will return before sundown. Please do not worry for me. I will be safe." He nuzzled her sleeping form hearing a faint sigh, and a muffled "Please hurry back my love." He smiled and quietly made his way out of the den.
He sniffed the air for any potential danger, and did a quick scan of the area, wanting to make sure that there was no threat to his mate or the offspring she was carrying.
Feeling no threat, he made his way through the forest from their home in a dense thicket. He found a clearing, and spread his wings, stretching them wide. It had been a few days since his last flight and the feeling was nice despite the stiffness. He started at a trot, soon sped into a full canter and then gallop, flapping his wings hard, leaving the ground in a single bound. He was in the air, but still had to rise above the trees. He flapped harder and faster as he neared the forests' edge. He rose above the topmost branches of the closest tree just in time to dislodge a few leaves. He looked back in time to see them floating slowly towards the ground.
He still had some work to do on his flying, but that wasn't really on his mind right now. He had to find his parents and deliver the good news.
The sky was clear, leaving no hindrance but also not assisting him in gaining altitude. It made each flap of his wings laborious, but he soon found the warm drafts of air that would help him stay aloft with little exertion from himself. He spread his tail feathers, and steered in the direction he wanted to go, drifting on the breeze that blew high above the earth.
He soon recognized some landmarks from his high vantage point, and descended with a rush of wind in his face and mane. He touched down in a flowery field not far from his destination. his landing, as usual, was nothing to be admired. He turned up earth and scattered flowers and pollen. He chuckled lightly to himself as he folded his wings again. He shook his head, ruffling his mane and feathers, freeing them of the debris he'd caused.
After making himself presentable for his mother, he made his way to his parents' home. He could smell their scent on the breeze and knew he was close. How many times had he visited his parents since leaving the nest? He couldn't remember exactly, but knew he should probably make the trip a little more often. He winced at the thought of his mother's or father's words for such a treachery.
It wasn't long before he heard the sound of his mother's voice, more than likely scolding on eof his younger siblings again. Clifton took a deep breath as he came into view of his mother.
He hadn't ever experienced such an emotion such as nervousness before, but now that he had a huge announcement to make, it felt like he had butterflies in his stomach.
"Hi mom," he called to her, hoping not to startle her or his brothers. He wasn't sure if his father was near or not. "I've got a huge surprise for you." He smiled weakly, feeling his stomach flutter again.((TL;DR:: Clifton left Kaze at their den and went to find his parents. :3 ))

Aoibheann had been finishing a flying lesson, as it so happened. Vinny and Zephyr had lost enough of their baby feathers to start getting airborne regularly and safely, so she'd begun the lessons, and she'd decided to take Zephyr out today. Absently, she wondered where Elune and Clifton were. Clifton had been busy lately, often away from home, and Aoibheann was increasingly curious why Clifton was spending more time than usual away from home. Hopefully he'd explain at some point. It was at that moment she heard Clifton call out to her.
She turned to her eldest son. "Hello, there Clifton. How are you?" She made a guess that the surprise had something to do with why he was away so much lately. "What's this huge surprise, Clifton?" Zephyr had enjoyed this flying lesson, as he'd enjoyed the others, and as usual, he was tired out. It took a lot of running to get airborne, and a lot of flapping to stay airborne, but it got easier each time. It was just exhausting work, but his mother said it built up flight muscles and endurance, practicing like this. He was startled to hear his elder brother, and excited. "Clifton! You're back! Mom and Dad are teaching me and Vinny how to fly," he said excitedly. The surprise wasn't the main thing on his mind right now, but flight was.

((Ok... so Zeph + Vin's growths have thrown me off a little. Are they still foals in this RP, or foals with coloured feathers starting to show, or young adults? I will edit in Vin's image and text colour accordingly when this is figured out. <3)) "Uh. I already knew how to fly. Ma was just giving me pointers." Success made Vinesh obnoxious, and he changed a stumble - a minor stumble! - from his landing into a strut sequence. With his tail feathers back, Vinny was starting to get better at navigation... but his landings were still bad, and instead of really improving them, he was more focused on how to cover up his mistakes so they didn't make him look "unglam".
For this Silly, appearances were definitely more important than technique.
"Yeah Clifton, what's the surprise? I mean, I know you're talking to Mom and if you don't want to tell me and Zeph, we can scram." He arched an eyebrow at his older brother, daring the stallion to send him away, entirely prepared to throw a hissy fit if that happened.

((We can go ahead and let them have grown into adults by this time, if you want. If not, I'll edit my post a bit.))
Clifton kept smiling, unable to remove it from his face. "Well mom, I've found a mate. She's the most beautiful creature I've ever seen. Her coat is the color of the clouds on a bright spring day. Completely white. The moment I saw her, I knew I must have her. Her name is Kaze, and she brings me nothing but happiness."
He turned to his brothers. "Congratulations on learning to fly. I hope you are better at landing than me or dear old dad." he chuckled. "And I must congratulate you two for growing into your plumage. I see your tail feathers grew back Vinny." He snickered, but smiled towards him with a wink. "Now you two will be on the prowl for the females no doubt? Or rather, they'll be on the prowl for you?"He chuckled. He meant it as a joke, because he knew his brothers were still a little too young to really want to look for a mate. He couldn't help himself. He was in the greatest of moods.
"I don't mind if you two know my wonderful news. Aside from having found a mate, I also came here to let you all know I'm ..... " he choked at the words.... "going to be a father!" he exclaimed the last few words, unable to contain the joy in his voice. The smile never left his face.

Aoibheann laughed with joy for her eldest son. "Kaze sounds beautiful, and I'm glad you're going to be parents soon. I hope you'll introduce us to her and your little ones someday?" she asked, caught up in the excitement of being a grandmother, and so soon! She was vaguely aware that this meant that she was officially old, but Aoibheann was still delighted for her son to have found such happiness. She hoped she could meet the source of his happiness soon and congratulate and welcome her into the family properly.
Zephyr looked away, a little embarrassed at the concept of prowling for mares. Not until he had his adult plumage would he look for females. "I'm getting good at landings," he said finally. "I like flying. It's fun." Clifton's next words made the colt choke. "You're having foals? Already?" he demanded in horror. "Awww, geez, that means Vinny and I are going to be uncles. We'll be old before we even find mares!" he wailed miserably. He didn't want to be old, especially not this soon!

This was certainly joyous - and surprising - news. Vinesh gaped at Clifton's announcement, the quickly shut his trap.
"Congratulations! Wow, Clifton. You did a nice job hiding your mate from all of us," he teased. "Is that why you went off all by yourself so much?"
Vinny considered his brother's words seriously.
"Uh. I'm not sure I want attention from the ladies. The last one I met got a piece of me... or rather, almost all of me."

Clifton smiled at his mother. "Of course I'll introduce her and the young ones once they're born, but for now, Kaze must stay near our den. Once she has the eggs and they hatch, we shall all come and visit." He stepped forward and gave his mother a light nuzzle.
He looked towards his brothers, and shook his head. "Oh, I see. You both are still shy around the females is it? Well, that'll soon pass I'm sure. And Vinny, not all of them want to eat you." he said with a laugh. "But it's good to hear your flying lessons are going well." He paused and began again. "And we grow up very quickly it seems. Your childhood is to be cherished, and fond memories are made during that time."
He looked towards the sky. The sun was getting close to the tops of the trees. He should probably be heading back to his den soon.
"I must appologize to you three, but my visit can only be a short one. I only wished to convey my wonderful news, but I must be getting back to my den. Kaze will be wondering where I have gotten off to."
((I'm going to have him leave after you two post again, and we can wrap this one up. I'll try and get Frey, Wahya, and Arashi to join in and introduce Kaze, Keflee, and Reyna to the others, in a seperate RP. :3))

Aoibheann nodded. "Of course, of course. Whenever is convenient for you and Kaze, of course. I would not want you two to come with your children before you're ready." She glanced at the sun, as well. "Ah, yes, it does indeed appear that it is high time for you to return to Kaze. Please, give our family's regards to Kaze, and our very best wishes." She nuzzled her eldest son lovingly and proudly.
Zephyr sighed. "No, it's not that I don't like girls, it's just that I don't think I'm old enough to start looking for a girl." At least he was glad for the compliment on flying lessons and flight. But seeing Clifton going already made him feel a little sad. "So, I guess we'll see you when you bring Kaze and your kids around." He managed a smile. "Take care."

I can't wait to grow up... then I'll be pretty, like mom and dad! Vin honestly didn't see what was to be cherished about being small and puny and eatable. He wanted to soar high above the trees, he wanted to beat down lions with powerful hooves, he wanted to...
Sing? Possibly, if his voice deepened to his father's bugle.
"Hope the hatching goes well, Clifton! And say hi to Kaze for us!"

Clifton gave his mother a goodbye nuzzle, and nodded at his brothers. "It was nice seeing you all again, and I hope to return very soon. Maybe we can all go for a flight?" He hated that he hadn't spent much time with his younger brothers. He made a mental note to try and come around more, or at least spend some quality time with the two.
With a last glance back at his family, he trotted away from the three, and finding the area where he had landed, took flight again, and was on his way back to his den. A quick flight later, he landed his usual not so graceful landing, and soon found his den and his way back to his waiting mate.
((And we're done.))
