Erionda
Erionda has definitely had her fair share of life experiences. Slowly falling in love with an Oblivionite (someone who is her only opposite), being kidnapped by a monster and being held hostage, being awarded and celebrated for her heroic bravery, growing with her fellow Drakein, and meeting with new people and making new memories constantly. Not to mention the fact that she's a Hybrid to begin with, which in and of itself is a life experience waiting to happen!
Take some time and reflect on Erionda's life. Where does she see herself going in the future. Does she see a life with Kilian? Is her life still affected by the kidnapping? How does she manage to get along with all the baggage her life has dealt to her? Has her being a Hybrid affected her growth and social development? Tell us all the things that are on Erionda's mind! The morning sun broke through the windows of her Eowyn home. Groaning Erionda pulled her legs up to her chest. Her hand moving to touch Kilian. Her hand only met the bare sheets of her bed. Opening her mismatched eyes slowly, Erionda searched the empty space. Gripping the fabric where Kilian often slept with her. A small ache in her chest. She missed him, and wanted to wake up beside him today. It was possible she had slept longer than normal. The hybrid shifted to pull Kilian's pillow towards her. Pressing her nose into the soft object. The familiar earthy scent filled her nose. Calmed her senses and nerves. She loved her Oblivionite with her entire heart, mind, and soul.
His scent brought many familiar memories to mind. Like the first time she had met Kilian. It was on Serenia, where she had also met Junjie and Tiliawen. Both of the other people had been Hybrids like herself. She had assumed Junjie to be just a regular Dovaa at first. That was until his excitement had got the better of him and his wings had popped into view. Only then had she been able to figure out he was a hybrid. Even his small bonded had been quite an interesting display. She had enjoyed both of their company. And then there was Tilawen. The hybrid that was quite obviously that. A hybrid.
Tilawen had made her grateful for her life. The female half Oblivionite hybrid had things much harder than herself. Erionda had been very lucky it was a good thing that her skin appeared no different than a normal Dovaa's. That her eyes were that of a Dovaa. Erionda's eyes could easily be confused for a mistake, or accident during her clan choosing. As for her hair, that was easily explainable as well. Dovaa had a way of dying their hair. Though it wasn't common place it certainly happened. It left her looking, moving, acting as if she were a pure Dovaa. She couldn't help but be grateful she was only a quarter Orderite. Tilawen on the other hand had dark skin, it could be mistaken for a Dovaa, her hair too. But her eyes, they didn't contain the same soul like glisten she and Junjie had. They reminded her of Kilians sockets. With strange floating orbs in them. A dead give a way she wasn't pure blooded. She envied the hybrids power with fire and with her staff.
Her mind wandered to the clan choosing. Then to her weapon choice. Both had caused the people giving her care to leave. She was only fourteen at the time. If it wasn't for Uassae and Lanzecki. Her beloved Drakein and Keindred, Erionda was sure she wouldn't have survived even her first fight. The image of her oldest Drakein, Uassae surfaced in her mind. He was a gift from one of her caregivers. The egg had meant to help her feel better. To help give her comfort when her father had passed away. She could hardly remember the details. What she could remember was the feeling that flooded through her when Uassae had hatched. He was a special Kienling. He was different than every other Drakein she had seen to date. He protected her, and guided her. Loved her and gave her everything a parent would.
Then there was Lanzecki. A small egg in the process of hatching. It was a wonder he had survived her disturbing his process. Erionda cringed at the reminder. There had been way to many newly hatched babies. So much pain, hunger, and the smell. The hybrid pressed her nose deeper into the pillow her body wrapped around it for comfort. It was a terrible smell. She had uncovered a horrible black market trader. An evil Dovaa who was selling Drakein eggs to anyone who was willing to pay a high price. She had found his egg hatching in a contained cellar, and had to do everything she could to stop him from being just another victim.
She had never been caught for that. Mostly because no one would admit an egg had been stolen when it was illegally possessed in the first place. Erionda pushed herself up into a sitting position. With her legs tucked tightly under her. Rio let the pillow gain distance from her face. A noise from downstairs reached her ears. Placing the pillow back in it's spot Erionda crawled out of bed. Smoothing the blankets over the bed she shared with her mate, Erionda turned towards the chest at the end of the bed.
Inside the chest contained her clothing. A simple pair of black pants and a white shirt. They were her everyday wear when she wasn't out fighting in her gear. Her sword she had acquired due to her weapon choice rested downstairs against the door for easy access. A shield she had gained from the help of another. Maslin, a curious Peisio Dovaa. Also with a Drakien, she enjoyed helping him out. Drawing a map she hoped had been put to good use, she hadn't seen him since and silently wondered how he had been lately. She hadn't seen him in the Celestial plane. Perhaps he had been out training. Something her Mate seemed to do often.
Erionda had taken time to trust her Oblivionite, Kilian. He had sacrificed so much for her. He had protected her when they fought against an Ayrala dragon together. Getting severely injured in the process. He had lost contact with his cousin, for her sake. A younger Oblivionite who seemed to care so much for him. She wondered silently if that was because she loved him as more than just a brotherly type of love. Shoving her arms through he sleeves of her shirt and pulling it over her head Erionda arranged the fabric around her waste. That wasn't the most important thing of all. There were two very conflicting things. Both causing a great deal of pain to her heart.
The first was Kilian's father. Kilian had attacked him in order to protect her. A worthless hybrid. He had chosen
her over his own family, his own kind. He had lost his entire family in that very moment. Rejected by the man he called father. The thought brought tears to her eyes. The second was during the recent war. A war when she had stubbornly attempted to attack what she deemed the enemy. Her stupidity had caused her kidnap. She shivered at the memories. Alpha and Beta. Monstrous creations that still to her memory had no real source. They were mixed creatures of all the races patch-worked together to create two monstrous beings. She still had nightmares of the event. Of the cage she had been held in. Of the danger and fear she had felt.
Kilian had come for her. In her darkest fear, he had been the one to pull her out of it. Until then she had never felt more connected to the Oblivionite. His 'lack of soul' as many claimed of the Oblivionite race, seemed inconsequential to her. Her love had grown for him over the years. Over the battles they shared, their secrets, hopes and dreams. Even the most intimate of times. Just as he protected her then, he kept her sane when her nightmares plagued her at night. And now, they were a mated pair. Her face warmed at the very thought. She could see herself spending the rest of her life with him. She could even see herself carrying his children.
Erionda touched her stomach. Children. She wanted them, but there was a fear behind it. What if they were born into a world that hated Hybrids even more than the one she existed in? What if like her own parents she and Kilian died while they were young. Who would look after them? With both of her parents murdered by dragons. And Kilians family rejecting him, at least his father. Would she have any friends that could take on the task? Junjie maybe? Tilawen? She hovered on the idea of Kilian's cousin but she didn't want to put such a burden on the young girl. The very task, while she might accept. Would cause the same downfall to happen for her as it had Kilian.
Her face paled at the reminder of people leaving. Everyone in the past had left her. Somewhere in the back of her mind, Erionda couldn't help but feel that one day even Kilian would leave her. Shaking her head absently the Aiskala hybrid tried not to focus on such details. She was still friends with Junjie and Tilawen, Kioda a strange feral Drakein had even become friends with her. They hadn't left her! Erionda tried to remind herself of the good things.
The Aiskala's feet carried her over towards the vanity desk. Selecting the brush Erionda set to work on her hair. She wasn't like most people. Being a hybrid had made her cold towards strangers, especially the Oblivionite's and Orderites. The Dovaa often mistook her for their own kind, especially with her new skills to enter the Celestial plane.
It had always been a dream of hers, since she was a little girl. To one day live among the people her father came from. To live among the Dovaa people in a special world created just for them. Erionda sighed as she worked out the knots in her hair from the sleep she had woken from. She had traveled there recently for the first time. Her eyes had drunk the sight of everything she could see, her ears what she could hear. While she still yearned to be within the world she so desperately craved. She had tossed that dream aside. Kilian, and the family they had the chance of being in time was her dream now. Her future was with her mate.
Eowyn's harsh world had been enough for her. After studying her fathers journal for some time, his notes led her to the frozen lands of Aisko. There she found what had once been her fathers home. A Peisio had resided in it at the time, but had soon succumbed to her blade. An idea had struck her then. The house was bigger in Aisko, and had been meant for her. Despite it's severely destroyed state the main structure was still intact. It would require extensive work to fix, something she was prepared to do. She had asked Kilian if he would move there with her. He had readily accepted. Now construction had begun. And while it was slow, the Aiskala knew it would be worth it.
The brush clicked on the table as the hybrid placed it back down. Flick her hair over her shoulder Erionda's blue and violet eyes stared back at her. Over her pale purple and ice blue hair. Across the deep purple scales on her cheeks, neck, shoulders. Even on the sides of her abdomen and the outside of her thighs. They sprinkled the back of her hands in various places. Turning she glanced at herself in the Mirror from over her shoulder. The white fabric wasn't well enough to hide her birthmarks.
Distinct pale pink wings with a white boarder. Reaching over her shoulder Erionda gently touched the spot on her left side. Places that marked her wings location. She had only brought them out once before. Ashamed of the way they looked. Ashamed of the white feathers outlined in soft pink tones. They were wings of an Orderite. Not the strong leather ones of the Dovaa. Erionda's eyes flicked downward slightly. In the middle of her back was a small change. There she could see another faint set of the same tattoo. Touching it lightly Erionda bit her lower lip in thought. Was this second set of wings her father had mentioned in his writing? He had spoken of her mother gaining another set of wings in the middle of her back around the same age he had received his only set.
Erionda felt a shiver of anticipation. Her hand no longer inspecting her back. Her body turned to face the large mirror once again. If she were undergoing a strange change in her body, was her mate going through some as well? She pondered a moment before moving towards the door. Her hand resting on the cold metal for a moment. Yet another sound echoed from the floor below.
Curiously Erionda turned the knob and pulled the door open. Squeaking noises exploded into the sound of claws struggling to grasp onto the smooth stone floor. Followed by the sound of something falling. Half laughing Erionda rolled her eyes. She now knew exactly what was going on. Uassae was likely antagonizing the younger bonded, Lanzecki. It was an endless game. Uassae loved the dramatic way Lanzecki reacted to life, and Lanzecki loved the attention he got from his dramatic expressions. The hybrid wondered secretly if they had met in the wild would they have become mates.
Erionda coughed as she felt a similar prickle in her mind, both feeling disdain for her current thought. She shared a bond with both her Drakein. A bond that allowed for seamless communication of words feelings and pictures. It had been created with her at the birth of each Drakien. She wouldn't change her relationships with them for the world.
Reaching the bottom of the stairs Erionda smiled as she greeted each Drakein in turn. Her eyes falling on a familiar dark skinned male. Turning she moved to stand behind him. Her arms wrapped around his abdomen in a light embrace.
