Erionda knelt down on a floating iceberg. Her head felt like led, her body tired and emotionless. Something was wrong, terribly wrong, and the hybrid could feel it deep into her soul. She had no idea where the premonition came from, or even if she should be listening to it. All she knew was the crushing pain in her chest.
She was no stranger to these feelings. They are common for her, especially when she felt she had lost a close friend. Her search of Eowyn had turned up nothing of the hybrid, Tilawen. There had been strange scuffles around the sandy desert of people hunting the Kiandri, but that wasn't enough information to piece together to say it was her friend.
The Aiskala hybrid sighed inwardly. She didn't want to admit something was wrong. That she herself had failed to find any trace of someone. She had failed her other friend Junjie. Perhaps that was reason enough for these crushing emotions. She didn't want to admit defeat. Even to herself.
Heterochromatic eyes scanned over the frigid water as it splashed up around her floating block of ice. She had wandered out into the deep waters in search of anything that could give freedom to her feelings. To give her the ability to fight them. Battles always did the trick, dragons however were to bothersome to hunt down and attempt to kill. And food was required to fill her cupboards at home.
Her companions Lanzecki and Uassae's appetite had increased significantly now that she was keeping them on the frozen land of Aisko for longer and longer periods of time. Dragons didn't provide meat, she couldn't harvest it fast enough. Anything else that roamed Aisko had meat that was too tough to cook properly. So Erionda had settled on a chance to go fishing.
A shadow passed under her gaze. Not taking any chances Erionda activated her magic. Sending the ice rippling down towards the creature below. She had caught part of it. Watching as the strange fish like creature struggled to break itself free. This tactic could work. Erionda send several more tendrils of ice towards the creature. Catching it in various places until it floated to the surface.
Her eyes narrowed on the creature. She had never seen anything like it before. It looked oddly like a Merkin. Glaring at the creature Erionda froze it's mouth closed. For the time being she would take it back home. She would ask Uassae is this was a form of Drakein. If that was the case she would easily return it to the wild. If, however, it was something they could eat. It would find it's way onto her dinner plate. Salted and stacked in her cupboards.
