Erionda stumbled in the sand. Her shoulder still ached from the blows she had recieved fighting the past Gaili. Not to mention the injuries to her stomach and shoulder from the adventure through the cave. Both injuries were wrapped up in a thin gauze to protect them from further damage. That didnt stop her from visiting the oasis near her home. The rocks were cool against her skin in the morning, helping to wake her from the previous nights fitful slumber. Her wet hair hung about her frame. Soaking her cloths as she walked. It helped to cool her off and gave her magic room to react without spending much effort.

The sand around her was unusually calm. Narrowing her eyes Erionda felt the presence of her Drakein nearby. But there was something else, something different. Her mismatched eyes couldnt pick out the difference. What she was able to tell was the kiandi that frequented the area where gone. They had always been there so what had changed? No battle had taken place to chase them off. No natural disasters could be accounted for.

The silence made the hybrid nervous. Like the calm that usually followed the storm on the water. Casting her eyes towards the sky Erionda could find no change in Uassae or Lanzecki's flight. Which made everything that much harder on her. They hadn't been able to puck out the change either. Erionda cintinued her walk back toewarda the house. She was finally returning home to pack a few things before leaving for Aisko. She had no idea if Kilian had returned yet.

The sound of sand shifting to her left startled the hybrid. Turning to look Eriondas heart plummeted, a large Gaili's body slammed into hers. Uassae and Lanzecki were attacking the dragon with furry. Erionda's mind spun with confusion. How had she not noticed it? How had her companions failed to notify her.

Struggling to her feet Erionda pulled out her sword. Her whole body trembled as she took a step forward. Had the kaindri sought the help of a Gaili to solve their problems? Groaning with an arm tight around her stomach Erionda stumbled again. Today was not a day luck wanted to be on her side. Lunging forward she opened a large cut in the dragons throat. Her sword guiding an arc of blood towards the ground. Leaping back she watched the Dragon flail about until it crumbled into dust.

The hybrid sank to her knees. Taking back another fallen Gaili orb.
