Meaning: I found this in a manga I read anf found it very pretty. I also thought it matched well with the mothers name. When I looked up the definition, it had a couple of meanings. In Hebrew; ‘wished-for child’, ‘who is like god’ ‘Rebelliousness’. All of which I can see fiting the baskets personality, if only a little rebellious because of her inability to not follow a command makes her feel used. I thought ‘wished-for child’ would fit. Also, I thought ‘who is like god’ would fit because if she has the leg wings, she would resemble the ‘Great Mother’.Male- Sabastian
Meaning: I read it from a manga, and they defined it as “The wrong path”. I thought it was good because he can’t ever seem to do anything right. And I don’t find it to be a bland name :3.Temper: Female- Strong-willedMale- Clumsy *could change if I find a better word for it lol* Personality of Soquili: Female- She likes to argue. And when she is told to do something, she refuses. But her body always ends up doing what she was asked, even if she doesn’t want to. And she will always deny having done what she did, even if it was a good thing.
Recommended Job: MusicianMale- He always tries to please everyone, and it always seems to go wrong. He can never seem to do anything right. If he tries to help someone with something, he’ll end up accidently breaking it. Or other such mishap. He knows he should feel grateful to the herb for keeping him, and always tries to help when he can. Though others tend to not ask for his help since they know he is jinxed.
Recommended Job: Digging clay, or smashing fruit for wine. Also, entertainment for a traveling mistress.Rp Ideas:Female-
1. She meets a male outsider when walking with another herd member. She is about to lead him unwillingly to the herd when the other herd member stops her
Purpose: Show she really does have a problem with her inability and that she needs to keep it better in check.
2. She is feeling very bad about her inability to stop when someone tells her to do something. She talks to one of the elders who suggests getting a job in the herd to feel better. Then is suggested to be a musician.
Purpose: Figure out what job she would be good at, and give her self worth.
3. Meets the foal from her past and falls in love.
Purpose: To find what she preserves as ‘love’ =D.
4. Breeds with a male and is unhappy, but not knowing why. Never understands that she is in love with the foal from her past and feels sad he is no longer around.
Purpose: To have kids and see if she can get attached to them. Or to share the story of her childhood with someone and remember what it was like being a foal.Male-
1.Try and help someone in the herd and cause great damage, maybe at one of the ceremonies. Then try and fix it.
Purpose: To show how truly deep his ‘jinx’ goes.
2. Meet up with one of the elders to apply to a job and be denyed. Offered to be a clay digger or wine maker.
Purpose: Finally finds something he can do and others wont make fun of him or tell him he messed up.

And only if it makes for a good plot.Why do you feel you should get a basket/be picked as co-owner for a foal?: I often come up with interesting ideas, and would love to test them out. I would also like to add some variety to my herd since it consists of regulars, unicorns, and one usdia. I think this a great chance to do so. Also, I love the mother and the grandfather, and think being a member of this herd would be very interesting. Though I have yet to aquire a soquili who would fit in with the herd besides trying for this basket.

Username: Mei silja Soquili's Name:Female Amalan; Meaning Beautiful daughter Male Yathi; Meaning Bridge wing Temper:Female Ambitious Male Dreamer Personality of Soquili:FemaleWith a mother and a father who dislike confutations, it would be that any foal would be the same right? Nope! Amalan takes right to herself, one of those odd times when the foal reaches past their parents. Cunning and sly she will flirt her way and talk her way out of trouble. For her, it isn’t as if trouble just finds her, no she makes the trouble. Perhaps jumping out and scaring a group of males so they get punished, or stealing something and getting it blamed on them as well. She isn’t all bad though; she does love her mother and is content to fully ignore her father whom she thinks unworthy to have gotten near her mom. In all Amalan is very ambitious, she wants to be in the higher ranks and have power to do things her way. MaleYathi is a bit of an empty headed male, well not really in fact he’s a bit smart he just doesn’t care so much what people see in him. He has no dislike for his lot in life, but it doesn’t stop him wondering if perhaps things would be different outside this place. He loves his mother and his father, heck he loves all his siblings. He is a bit on the slow side to move, when told to go somewhere he will take his sweet time walking there. He isn’t a trouble maker mind; he just doesn’t see why he has to rush at a word. He is a kind soul in all, willing to help anyone indeed and that is where he can really get in trouble. He is unwilling to run away or even try, but he will help others do it. In his mind, if they don’t want to stay why waste energy and make them. His help and like to not extend to fools however. I don’t care about the person I role play with, I care about the character because that’s who my character is interacting with. So even if I hate someone, my character can love theirs to tiny little bits! I am on Gaia quiet a lot, for hours a day. So I will have time and darn it but I love this Flock concept it’s just so cool! Plus I am always spitting out plots and idea's with no where to go. Being here, I would not only get to role play in a family, but I have the chance to give others my ideas for plots!~

I have never been able to RP in a family before or a big one to be restated and i think it would be cool to plot with the parents grandparents and others in the flock. Will the offspring stay in the flock?: Yes if male he will be a fighter but knowing he can never leave he will submit to the rule of being a lower rank and knowing he may only be a breeding tool. He will show great personality though despite knowing what being born into the flock means. Perhaps he can truly make a harpie fall for him as in love and not just to add more into the flock. If female she will be very proud and bold knowing she has great power. She will be loving as a foal but as she grows older she will get distant because of her boldness of course though she will always love her parents but some of her decisions may not be thought through before she makes them. She will look down upon all and any stallions she meets feeling Superior to them and may seem stuckup in her own way she might even be a bit mad unknowingly. Why do you feel you should get a basket/be picked as co-owner for a foal?: I really love the harpies that came from the WoW event seeing as the mother had to come from one of them is amazing. I have wanted to be the owner of some Soq with WoW linage even if its not apparent i would not say that but be proud. Also i think the entire harpy flock idea is amazing and to Rp a foal growing up in one? I can only imagine the limitless plots and ideas there could be for a harpie. I have never been able to Rp in a big family before and since this chance was given to everyone i thought i could try to be the lucky someone to take care of this lovely basket. IF i was picked as co-owner i would consider myself very lucky to be able to share the joy of growing up with the foal even if not mine i would love and be very thankful. Prompt: Filly: she had a feeling in her gut today things would change. She felt very strong despite only being a filly. She was allowed to do whatever she wished but she still felt something was missing. What was going to change she was unsure but today felt off and that was when she noticed him staring at her. He was hiding behind his mother looking at her with wondering eyes she stared back at him feeling power course though her body. She was in a much higher rank than him and he must of knew that he seemed docile and she knew he was right to fear her. Female had the power over Males and the entire flock knew that she was going to grow up strong and powerful to breed only with the best and produce offspring that could carry on the line. Males were much looked down upon they were must tools to let the flock grow stronger she knew none who really loved those they bred with. "Serves them right...Males are nothing to us with or without them we will grow stronger.." She knew much for only being a filly not very old but gossip spread like fire around here and she heard every word that spread. The only reason she knew she was not like others was because of the gossip that spread about her. She heard many things and knew that someday somehow she would become a leader just like her mother. She loved her mother with all her heart and so she glanced back at the male smiled at him and started to run back the other way wishing to be at her mothers side. Colt: He was very unhappy at the moment his father was not much comfort to him or his mother. He sighed lifting his head off the cold hard ground to take a look at what he was faced with. He was considering his options if he should try to run from his fate or embrace it he knew what was going to happen when he got older. He did not want to become a slave to a harpy but if he stayed here what choice did he have? He was to young to consider this but he did anyways his father had told him the sad truth and it had been on his mind ever since. Of course life would be bad if he stayed but he could find an upside right? Perhaps the one he ended up with would truly love him like his father and mother. He glanced down again wishing he had someone to talk to besides his parents he happened to see his clawed feet and shifted very uncomfortable. His claws even made lying down hard he wished he could of been born normal and not cursed to live in a flock forever. He might find an upside but he pushed his thoughts out of his head being to young to consider this. Just then he saw his friend and got up to run and meet him.

(and all months) Username: vballlvr5 Soquili's Name: Female Aello Male Canaan Temper: Female Confident Male Coy Personality of Soquili: Female For Aello, quiet isn't in her vocabulary, stealth yes, but silence for no specific reason is a big no-no. She could possibly be described as someone with a strong, perhaps seen as aggressive, personality. She doesn't like being out of control and is a model harpy. She is confident and sure of herself but isn't cocky. She admires her sisters, but above all else the queen followed closely by the commanders, head huntress, and head guards. Aello aspires to be a huntress or perhaps a guard, this aspect of the flock has always drawn her towards it. She is neither mean or devious but has a knack for stealth and her footsteps are extremely quiet, which is a bit of a contradiction seeing as she is constantly running her mouth. She is devoted to her sisters and it is unlikely that she'll leave the herd for any reason besides obviously going on trips and capturing a mate. Male Canaan is a coy male and not particularly social. Shy and bashful he is a sweet dedicated male that regards all members of the flock with respect and care. They are all his family, if not by blood then by just general care and concern. He's devoted to the care of his siblings, perhaps he hovers just a bit too much but it's only because he is protective of them. He's observant and understands what he sees but he doesn't (at least that's what I plan)mind being a "lower class" member of the flock. Do you RP?: YES! Male Daedalus -> Greek: Means "cunning" or "curiously wrought" (going for "curiously wrought"). Daedalus, an Athenian inventor that had been banished to Crete, designed the Labyrinth for King Minos - ultimately designing his own prison. Because he aided Theseus in his quest against the Minotaur, he was jailed in the Labyrinth... Only to escape using wings of wax. His son Icarus, who had been imprisoned with him, fell to his death. Temper: Female Lyrical Male Conflicted Personality of Soquili: Female Raised as a proper harpy, Aoide is very active in the Flock's community - mostly acting as an entertainer, she will (hopefully) officially be a gatherer, but will always have a tune on her lips and a little dance residing in her legs. She is very loyal to the Flock, but mostly her mother. When she makes mistakes, Aoi tends to turn and withdraw from society - her own flaws are the few things she can't stand. Especially if she makes a mistake in a song or dance, she will be too hard on herself. She tends toward her musical self, sometimes finding a small, isolated spot in her nest to think of words; she even thinks up her own songs when the Flock's aren't enough. If her family (even her brothers, if she has any...) or her Flock is threatened, she will stand solidly in the way of anything to protect them, but will act as a team with others if she is instructed to do so. Toward the males, she is kind, but looks on them with a small scoff on her lips - they are helpless, futile things in the Flock, and she probably will never take one as a private pet of her own. Username: Teh_Sil Soquili's Name: Female Bhairavi [Is this okay?] Male Duro [If that's okay] Temper: Female Bardic Male Acrobatic Personality of Soquili: Female Bhairavi was born to be a storyteller. There is nothing she delights in more than weaving a tale to an audience, be they children or adult. She often sets her stories to music, and can often be found humming a tune as she wanders rather aimlessly through their territory. Her favorite tales are those that show the harpies in full glory. To properly immortalize herself, Bhairavi plans to write an epic about the harpy move to soquili lands, and the adventures that befall them there. An epic poem would leave a suitable legacy. Bhairavi is an animated storyteller, but she tends to be less than serious when outside of her tales. Her lack of seriousness can annoy- it doesn't seem proper. Can this mare even fight? Male Duro's personality is rigid, inflexible. He is obedient to a fault, and would do anything that any mare within the herd asks him. He looks upon other stallion as competition, as his inferiors- they do not do enough to please the females, they whimper, they complain, they do not show enough devotion. How is it that one so rigid in temperament can be so flexible in body? Though he maintains his serious face, Duro is quite the acrobat, capable of flexing his body in unusual ways, and doing stunts that few other soquili would dare. He takes his position as an entertainer very seriously. If his audience does not smile or compliment his moves, he later takes the punishment out on himself, berating his failings in a loud voice in a quiet corner. He must be perfect at all times. Do you RP?: Yes. biggrin Though I've had trouble finding trouble in soquili of late. One that thinks that it is indeed the food of all happiness. Male Submissive: Having grown up in the flock, he understands his position as a male in the flock and happily accepts it. He strives to do what he can to aid the females in what they might be needing. Creative one personality: He loves to get his hooves/claws dirty and has found that if you crush certain bugs or plants he can mix the powder with water and make a dye that can be used for painting. ACTIVE IN AUGUST! Username: Kareswynn Soquili's Name: This really depends on the parents… Possible names are: Female Penthelisea, Hippolyta, Antiope, Myrine, Marpesia, Menalippe, Camilla, Clonie, Polemusa, Derinoe, Evandre, Antandre, Bremusa, Harmothoe, Alcibie, Derimacheia, Antibrote, Thermodosa, Podarge, Ocypete, Aello, Chaney and Electra Male Hippolytus, Theseus, Thaumas (All of the above are names from real life Amazon and Harpy lore, but I usually like to ralate the names of babies back to the parents. ^__^) Temper: Female Up-beat Male Attentive Personality of Soquili: These may change based on the parents and family/Flock RP, but this is the base I’m working with. c= Female This girl is as dutiful, loyal and as devoted to her sisters as any other harpy, she’s just a little more relaxed about it. She rolls with the punches and nothing ever seems to ruffle her feathers. Level-headed as she is, she’s a good sister to have in a crisis. While not overly hilarious, she’s got a good sense of humor and can appreciate all (or most) other personalities in the Flock. She always looks on the bright side and it seems that nothing can get her down. While she is a herd animal, she likes her alone time as well. A good job for her would be as a hunter or gatherer, possibly a sentry on the borders of their territory; a job where she can be of use to the Flock, but still have that time to herself that she craves. If they trade for goods with others outside the Flock, that may be a good job for her as well. She is intelligent and curious about other walks of life… but the Flock is where her heart is. Having been raised in the Flock, she believes that males are inferior, but she also believes they are to be well cared for and never abused. Male This boy will be the perfect example of a submissive. He is strong, able and willing to carry his own weight. He can defend himself and his mistress if need be (though it will probably never be necessary), and he can be assertive, but only as his mistress needs him to be. He is whatever he needs from her at any time. The Flock (and his future mistress) is his reason for existing and he will give everything he has for them. While in public, he is quiet and dutiful, but in private with his mistress or friends among the other males, he is quite sweet. All he has known all of his life is the Flock and he loves it there. The idea of other ways of life has never occurred to him, and even if he finds out about them, they would probably not be to his liking. His place within the flock would depend on his breed and capabilities. I think it would be fun for him to be a dancer, a healer or maybe a farmer (if harpies do any farming). Do you RP?: Yes! Female Maliha – means having beauty and strength Male Pavarotti Temper: Female Outgoing, Theatrical, Male Peaceful, Songbird, Personality of Soquili: (Very simple personalities to start with that will grow and shift as the character ages and changes, depending on how they are raised.) Female Eccentric and an easy soquili to read. She is an emotional being who doesn't hide how she feels. Maliha possesses a strong will that allows her to succeed at many things that she does. Of course this also means she gets worn out easily as she attempts to do too many things at once. Maliha will be suited to be a warrior or a huntress, something of power, but she'll become fascinated with theatre. The young miss will see the grace the actors possess and wish to combine the strength and beauty of her flock position and her hobby. She'll start off wanting to be a strong warrior and took up the art of theatre in order to keep her mind and body in shape. In doing this, she will be able to hold back her strength while still looking very "real" and believable. Maliha sees this as a very needed trait when it comes to capturing stallions so they are not marred or seriously injured by any foolishness on her part. While this first started off as a way for her to become a successful warrior, she falls further in love for the "pomp and pagentry" that acting and stage fight possess. The thrill of it all brings her great joy. This little lady dreams big. She is very proud of her heritage. Constantly she seeks to widen her knowledge of the Flock. With her love for such a unique culture, she wishes to one day combine the myths and legends of the Flock with her other love – theatrical plays. She believes playing out their story will give a sense of pride to her people and herself. Along with a bubbling chest filled with glory, the beautiful play will educate the young on who they are and how the Flock originated. Male Very polite and calm, this boy is very content with his life. He is dutiful and works hard to help his brethren and the lovely females of the flock. In the beginning the lad is quiet and mainly keeps to himself. Usually Pavarotti is off daydreaming about odds and ends that seem to interest him alone. A good boy and only a troublemaker by accident (he can be a little klutzy) At times he is off observing the lives of those around him for he finds that highly amusing and fascinating. But as time goes by he'll draw himself out and be more open to others. The little guy just needs time to come out of his shell. Once he does, he'll become a helpful individual. Unfortunately I have yet to have a soquili who would fit into the flock but I continue to watch its development with glee.

She is loud and boisterous, and believes herself to be far superior to the other gender. Though she upholds The Flock's beliefs in that all mating is consensual, she does tend to be a bit rougher and less kind to them than her sisters. Vain and selfish, she tends to think of herself before her flock-mates, though she has just enough restraint to understand that the Queen is to be obeyed. Bloodthirsty and often cruel, she will spark at the slightest provocation and loves to fight. Given the choice between peace and war, she would choose the latter in the blink of an eye. Despite this, she remains loyal to her fellow Harpy sisters to the core. Male Kuldar is a very soft-spoken individual. He answers when spoken to, but rarely initiates conversation himself. Born and raised within The Flock, he follows their beliefs without question. The strange males from outside who are brought in are thought to be uncivilized by himself, and he tries, gently, to make them understand that this is the true way of life. I love WoW and I'm really sad I missed the event (I was on holiday for like... all of it DX), so this would be an opportunity to be a part of it here. I also love the culture, and have sort of been stalking it from afar ever since the flock started forming.

Am reposting this here to make sure people see it. xd After hours and hours of pouring over this thread, I narrowed my preferences down to ten. IT WAS SO HARD!! There were sooo many wonderful apps and ideas and names and...and AAARGH!!! After MORE torturous hours I managed to whittle my list down to four and rolled the RNG, knowing that any of them would make wonderful owners for a harpy basket. That's the roll you see above. The winner was Nyx Queen of Darkness. She's now the proud owner of this basket..  Congrats Nyx!!! Don't forget to update your post that you've recieved a basket. xd (if this isn't the right place, feel free to delete it, mind!!)
