Samhain snorted although it had been deeper than his voice normally ran. More closer to Salem's tone of voice. Nashira needed some work on her joke telling abilities but he understood the nature of the thing. He was more accepting of his own oddities ever since Salem had taken control back at the last festival they had met at. "Oh we are want to occasionally slip into talking to each other out loud but mostly its the faces I make during these silent conversations. Rune while not exactly like his mother is quiet happy to gather items from the festival to clutter his room with so I am not worried in the least about him not having fun. In fact he'll probably most likely wander back here sooner or later and you can meet him now that he's no longer an infant." ----------------------------------------------- Unfortunately for Vega, the doctors had been wanting leto to work on actually speaking instead of just failing towards replying only in sign language. Since it was what he was used to, he still replied to people with his voice. Also still on the unfortunate for vega train, Leto could read lips. He wasn't as good as his father at it but it was a skill Morin had taught him. He just never thought it would come in handy before the accident. "No it wasn't weird. It was just unexpected." Leto replied looking down and smiling at the dorkiness that was his friend. However he did maneuvered his own plushie to return the hug. Being undorky was overrated. As the statement of what Vega had signed started to seep in more, the look in Leto's eyes shifted and it was like he was looking at the Kirin in a new light. "Although nearly not as interesting as how flustered you seem to be getting over it. One might have to ask what like you were implyng earlier. If one was mean enough" queue for another sip of hot chocolate. However this time instead of the broken processing look their might have been a slight coyness to the hybrid's features." It was about then that he reached over and also grabbed a cookie from a nearby waiter's tray. Of course he didn't actually get a chance to eat it as it was snatched out of his hands as a pale blur darted under the table with it. Frowning he made a noise of irritation only for the culprit to walk back out from underneath the table and curl around his legs. Seriously vespercats. His own was going to love this development. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jin wished she knew of some way to attract familiars. Maybe one would see that sphix was a good match from them and her sister could get a familiar too. Unfortunately she just kind of tripped over them or they came to her. "Plus mommy and daddy have a rather large backyard. Yeah definitely letting him stay there. Hmm hopefully he gets along with my tortii. I think I am going to name them Totetsu. However you are totally able to go up and pet him... I think" Jin replied. It was then that Totetsu wobbled away for a second and came back with a plushie setting them at Jin's feet. Huh that was nice. picking up the plushie she heard Sphinx's second question and looked over towards her older sibling. "Uh... being weird apparently. They both have interesting faces" ------------------------------------------- Oran gave him a sympathetic smile. "Ah I wish people wouldn't do that. I know its to get people into the spirit of the holidays but at the same time people should be able to dictate how much holiday spirit they wish to show. Even worse I suppose is saying you are a child. I mean I can see you are older than I am. Ah but then that calling you old at the same time and you clearly are not old." yeah that was nearing the unsalvageable area. "I don't really go to many actually. Last one I really went to was you know that year but I figured it was a good time to try again. Everyone seems to really be getting into the spirit. Its nice to see. I hope you have a good time at least since its your first one in a long while. Oh I'm Oran by the way" she replied totally not realizing her bat was dragging more items into her pile.
Vega was so excited. She had been late because she had to find the most festive outfit. And now, decked out in a peppermint colored outfit, she barged into the area to enjoy the festivities.
At the entrance, she grabbed a stocking. There seemed to be... different prizes in each one. Peeking into her purple and pink one, she spotted a lollipop and a plushie. A large grin stretched across her face. Cool.
Humming, she walked further into the place, slowly turning to take in everything. Except she couldn’t. There was too much going on to take in at once. So, she would have to do it one by one. But do it all.
Another spectrefox followed the one that came to Birkita and brought a plastic bag. When Lilly looked into the bag, there was a cookie. She like out a small giggle, patting the fox as it nuzzled into her. "We should name them!" she suggested in her quiet, excited voice, looking over at her friend with bright eyes.
She was so excited to have a spectrefox. Ankylo would have have a friend now! She pondered the name, while putting the cookie into her stocking. The male spectrefox would have to be named after a dinosaur, of course. But which one was the question.
"I don't want it," she grumbled, giving the spectrefox with her book a dirty look before grabbing another book. This one was The Mystery of the Timepiece. A bit more boring compared to what the other one seemed about. She would still read it regardless, however. She tried to read any book that she got. And fortunately, it didn’t seem like a particularly long book. Birkita should be able to get through it pretty quickly.
Sulking, she turned her back on the spectrefoxes and Lilly. She would get that book from the spectrefox, without a doubt. It was her’s, after all. And if the spectrefox was now her familiar, it should listen to her.
Sisal could breath again. Sighing, he sat in a chair, deciding to take a break. Even though he practically just got there, he felt like he’d been wandering around all night. The mayor’s presence really was something. She really did catch him off guard.
He dumped his stocking on the table, examining the trinkets and such he had obtained. Agave and Sap sat on the table, nosing through things. Agave, realizing that Sisal was taking a break, flew off. When he came back, he was struggling to carry a bucket. Sisal grabbed it from him, thanking him before smiling. It was a bucket full of false snow.
Where to begin, where to begin, where to begin. Vega Zenith pondered as she wandered around, looking interestingly at each thing and making mental notes to return back to each of those stations and tables. She ate every now and again when she passed a sample tray, munching to her heart’s delight as she considered all the places to go.
Finally, she stopped at a simple giveaway table, pondering over the choices. Everything looked so delicious! But she knew she should only pick one, it was only polite. She pondered over it, humming to herself… and finally picked up some peanut brittle.

Luma and her four flitterrat companions had come, seen and conquered. She bought gifts, won prizes, and helped two nightmares find familiars. It was probably about time for her to head home. Her parents probably figured out she had left by now and will be waiting up furious. However they could still be asleep and if so Luma could sneak back in and they'd be none the wiser. Luma's train of thought was briefly interrupted by a jewelry stand. They had braclets and necklaces of every color stone she could imagine. After carefully perusing the selection she purchased a purple stoned bracelet and started trying to navigate her way back to the start of this festival maze. If only there was a map, because all of these vendor booths look the same.

It was starting to get later and many of the older nightmares had begun to make their way towards the location of Solstice Dance. Cecelia still thought all this romance stuff was foolish but she had not heard anything out of her parents so she may be stranded there all night. She surely wasn't going to carpool. It was highly unlikely anyone she knew personally would be attending this..festivity. Taking this into consideration she decided to attend this dance, at least she would be away from the chaos the younglings brought wherever they went. With Ruby trotting next to her, head held high, Cecelia followed the crowd towards the glowing lights in the distance.
Winter watched as the two freshlings went to get more plushes. She was happy with the one she had though. To here there wasn't really anything special about a toy there are a bagillion of, especially if its given to you without meaning. She had her old cat plushie since she was born, and this new plushie was won for her so that made it special.
The teacher came by the table, filling up glasses and leaving behind a bundle of candy canes. To share of course. Winter reached for the bundle and plopped one into her cocoa. Chocolate and peppermint always taste good together.

Reece was once again caught off guard as another enchanted snowball collided with her person. This time she saw the enemy. "It was you!" she cried out pointing. Of course it was not the previous attacker but she didnt know that, therefore they were going to receive the full force of her wraith. Her eyes locked onto the other grimm like starring through a sniper scope. "Game On". Reece took three of her snowballs in hand and with a star pitcher wind up sent a spiraling triple threat flying towards the large fluffy target. Direct hit! She quickly took cover behind a nearby decorated pine tree. "Your move!". Reece peeked through the branches of the tree. There would be no more sneak attacks on her watch!
[Rolls as follows: Georgette, Vígdís. Georgette will be point total.]
Georgette: Georgette wandered some more, stocking full of things in one hand, bucket full of fake snowballs in the other and a bunyip trailing behind him. He stopped at a table full of yummy smelling shaped cookies. The one shaped like a spear seemed to look the best to him. He reached out and grabbed it, shoving half in his mouth right away.
All of a sudden he heard a loud and terrifying screech. Oh no. No no no nonoooo. A Cockatriel. And it was heading right for his hand and his cookie. It landed on his wrist, sharp claws kind of digging in as it scarfed down the rest of his cookie. Well. Now what was Georgette supposed to do? Ugh, it was screeching again. And Georgette couldn’t cover his ears. Maybe it would go away if he ignored it, though seeing as how he’d unintentionally fed it, it was probably stuck to him for good.

Vígdís: Vígdís stayed put right where she was under the table of jewelry. Reaching up she grabbed another set of earrings, jingling them pleasantly in her hands.
Bowie After he had given the plushie back to the child, the new familiar slunk over to the wall to start preening and grooming itself. "Oh, don't give me that." Bowie laughed, scolding gently. The little fox just ignored him.
Miu Ah, Miu was thinking maybe it was time for some refreshments, and what should she see? Someone with a tray of cookies. Miu gladly accepted one. She was about to take a nibble when suddenly a head popped out beside her shoulder and squeaked. She managed to pull the cookie away before the flitterat stole a bite. "Mine." She said, glancing at the familiar on her shoulder. "...but I'll share."
Sphinx Sphinx sighed. "They're being weird. Oh nine." Sphinx threw her hands up into the air. "Should we help them? Or do you think Vega has Leto under control?" She asked, slowly reaching a hand out to try to touch Totetsu. She moved slowly, letting it sniff her first, just in case.
Vega Vega stared at the plushies as Leto... TEASED him. UGH! That voice, and the way he said things just... UGH! Stupid stupid! Vega thought for a moment to try and play it off. After all, Leto hadn't ACTUALLY asked what it meant... But the way he said it...
Vega looked up through his lashes at Leto. "...Are you mean enough to ask?" He asked softly, speaking slowly so Leto could maybe understand him without his having to sign. He lowered the plushie to his side as he looked at Leto. He almost didn't feel the nezubat that landed on his shoulder and dropped a cookie before flying off towards the jackalope.
Asher Ah, that truly did bring back memories. Asher finished reading the book and sighed. Looking around, he noticed that people were starting to break into groups as people began making new friends or meeting up with old friends.
Nashira "I would love to meet him." Nashira confirmed. She was glad that Sam didn't say anything about her horrible joke. "You make faces when you talk to each other?" That was actually sort of adorable, and Nashira smiled faintly. "So do you and Salem clutter up your home as well? Or do you leave that all for Rune and..." She had to think. Did she ever learn Sam's girlfriend's name? She remembered she was 'very pink' but that was about the only description she recalled. "...his mother to do?"
Nivasi "Oh. I heard all about that..." He hadn't been anywhere near the universities at the time, still residing in one of the nixie villages when it had happened, but he knew. "But this year seems to be going a lot better, right?" He smiled. "Oran? What a lovely name. I'm Nivasi." He introduced himself as well. "It's a pleasure to meet you. Are you having fun?"
Suddenly, Kean spotted the plushie table again, and couldn't help but walk towards it, forgetting that he was actually holding hands with his sister. When he felt the inevitable tug and was pulled back a bit, he looked up to his sister with pleading eyes. "Sissy, you want to get check out the plushie table? They have a ton of them!" He thought he had heard complaints about having too many of them, and was happy to take any that he could. But his sister currently had no plushes! She had to get at least one! Though it would eventually be covered in paint. But that was the fate of his plushies too usually. Just with a lot more sticky stuff on them.
He tugged on her arm a bit more, until she acquiesced to his request and they both walked over to the plush table. Kean looked at all of the plushes. Unlike himself, Qilanna could carry the much larger plushes! He quickly asked her if she would like one, and she gave him a sigh and said that it might not be a good idea. He looked at the plushes a bit more, trying to see what might be good for his sister. Well, since she got a vespercat familiar, why couldn't she get a vespercat plush? He pointed to the brown one, and asked if he could have it. The vendor handed it over, and in turn, Kean put it in his sister's stocking. She seemed to roll her eyes a bit at him, but thanked him anyway, ruffling his hair a bit while she did so.
Kean's Items:

Talia nodded at Winter. "At least I think it's a spectrefox..." She wasn't too sure herself when it came to the bigger familiars. She couldn't yet take care of them after all! "He followed you? Cute!" She got to pick her familiars out, and they liked her enough, but it would be cute to be followed too! After all, that meant that they must really like you? Or want whatever you're eating.
Talia looked under the table again, at her two now-sleeping fennekits and the annoyed spectrefox, and looked back at Winter. "They're fennekits! I got to choose them, but they were just so fluffy! And I read that they like to be mischeivous too! I thought they would be perfect! But you're spectrefox is cool too!" She didn't want to go bragging about her familiars, after all, she had been told that could drive others away, and that wouldn't be nice!
Talia's Stuff:
Lailah debated on whether or not to go back and get another plush. It seemed that Talia and Winter were talking much more to each other, which she didn't mind. So, she quickly went back over to the plush vendor, and got the completely blue jackalope plush and quickly hurried back over. When she got back to the table, it seemed as though they were still talking about familiars.
She listened to them for a bit before adding an, probably obvious statement for everyone else, "familiars are often attracted to food." It was... probably best to take what Lailah said in small doses. She couldn't seem to tell when she was actually talking out loud or not.

Qilanna could feel her brother walking away for a bit before he bounced back to where she was and she looked at him to see where he wanted to go. He was now pleading with her to go and see the plush table. She wasn't sure if he was wanting another plush and was just trying to convince her to go over there, or if he really wanted her to get one, but either way she let him lead the two of them over to the table, and he took his time looking at the plushes. She asked her if she wanted one of the big ones and she laughed a bit.
"Oh no, sorry Kean. As cute as those are, I really don't have any room in my dorm for them. But if you want to get one of the smaller ones that would be okay!" She replied, and he took her words and started to look at the smaller ones again. Suddenly though, he asked the vendor for one of the brown vespercat plushes. He then quickly stuffed it into Qillana's stocking before she could protest. She laughed a bit, and ruffled his hair. "Thank you Kean, it's adorable." Honestly her brother was just too nice for his own good.
Elirian snuck further away from her family than she should, ogling decorations and vendors and patrons alike. She saw Ashford off in the distance, looking as if he was holding a conversation with a spectrefox that reminded her of gingerbread, and Veles snagging a green vespercat plush and a giant lollipop. Aleanette finally grabbed one of those neat glowing glittery bulbs and Syblia cradled a small pot and blue jacklope to their chest. She grinned brightly as she witnessed a pretty winged jackalope present her mother with a cookie. And then not leave the naiad's side. The sound of someone shooing something brought her attention forward to make sure they weren't shooing her and she she nearly squealed in delight as she saw a red kidden happily eating garland. So that was the culprit! Well then, she should just coaxed him over here. "Hey there little guy. Why don't you come with me? I have better food."
