Jess glanced around the academy room for the event and blinked at the nightsky momentarily before pulling a face.... Ughhh. People were going to be smooching and being disgusting now. Gross. She wrinkled her nose at thought. So gross.
She wandered off, exploring around the room trying to find the best places to hide and keeping away from the book giving librarians. Books were boring...ooh! Interested perked she walked over to a set of buckets willed with something soft and white and cold... Like cotton but frozen but still soft.
Yeah, she was going to take one of these and now who to prank first. She had a bucket of icy cotton balls and needed to shove them down someone's shirt.
Sanlen had came with their elder sister. Who had helped them pick a stocking and picked up a necklace with a bright purple light bulb charmed that glowed and was full of swirling glitter.
They had decided to wear it, the necklace giving a soft glow against their sweater as they were allowed to wander about. It was nice and warm inside, and the ceiling was enchanted their sister had said, to allow everyone to see the night sky but not to be cold. They wondered if anyone in the dorm was about and maybe they would want to do something?
The ceiling was the sky and Rayleigh found himself tracing constellations with his eyes and fingers as he followed along with the crowd. He hummed softly, absent mindedly taking a stocking for goodies when offered one and went to find some place to curl up out of the way.
He picked up a cute red fennekit plush along the way and also a book. Pleased and rather set, Rayleigh found an out of the way corner to curl up into and read. He cracked the Young Nightmares guide to Dark alchemy open, flipping though the pages to get an idea of what sort of read it would be.
Eirlys was glad the festivities were not held outside, winter was not a pleasant time for the dryad and she was just pleased to get a warm steaming drink when she came in. She breathed the steam coming from the mug and sip slowly, enjoying the warm cider. Mmhm. Much better.
She drifted about the festivities listen to the idle chatter and paused to admire the grumpy kitten looking plushes. Ooh those were so cute, and grumpy. She grinned reaching out to poke the nose on a purple shaded one. So cute. Ooh, she could take it? Thank you. Eirlys picked up the plush and continued onwards… now what.
Phaerae flicked their wings up in surprised as they were presented with a book or more likely had a book thrust upon them by an over eager librarian. Mmh. Was this a smutty romance novel? They grinned slightly, looking over the cover. Taken by the Chimera hmm? Well, they could hang onto this for later.
Now, hmm, they were surrounded by people and what to do. There were some tables set up with food, maybe they could help out there… or a few snacks to eat while they walked about. Maybe get a drink, and they wonder faintly if anyone had spiked the cider.
Karayas--Running herself silly in circles, Karayas plopped down to rest. The festival looked like it was tilted on it's side. She laughed and then put her hand on her mouth, she felt a little sick. ~feels gross~
Kalek--Looking around for something hot to drink, Kalek began to wander towards a small cart that held drinks when he tripped over something warm and fuzzy? Falling to his knees he looked back and saw a SpectreFox staring him in the eyes as it laid regally on the ground. It looked as if he was affronted that Kalek disturbed him. Tilting his head to the side, Kalek offered his apologies but the SpectreFox was having none of it and trotted over to a lovely Freshling that was playing a game. It nudged them and they turned with a soft "Oh" and began petting the lovely familiar. Kalek ran over and said "This is my familiar I think, but he does not seem to like me would you please take him?" The freshling looked up in surprise and nodded. Before they could say anything else Kalek was off to find his drink!
Gifting the familiar to Mislean!
SnowLily--Feeling giddy from laughing at her friend and her family, SnowLily needed something hot to drink. Trying to get Dayanara's attention without being rude to her Mother was difficult but she tried very carefully.
Dayanara--Dayanara was getting tired of her brother's antics, enough already. He kept falling over familiars and making a nuisance of himself. SnowLily tried several times to get her question asked to Dayanara's Mother, but oh no her irritating brother had to butt in! She looked over and gave him the stink eye then turned back to her Mother and said "Mama can we get some hot cocoa? SnowLily and I are thirsty, please?
Dayeon--Climbing to his feet as quickly as he could he saw his sister shoot him the stink eye. "Oh boy, she is angry!" he thought to himself. Back pedaling to get away from her he fell flat on his butt this time tripping over his own feet!
Pippi--Happily being with her new Mama and Aunt, Pippi took in the sights and was loving it. Everywhere she looked was something new to do. Not sure what to try next, a young pretty Goblin female appeared and handed her a small trinket before bouncing off to the next child.
Milsean--Still clutching her new stocking in one hand, she was playing a game when suddenly she was butted in the back by a furry but strong head. She was aiming with a dart but missed and turned around to see what had nudged her and there stood a beautiful SpectreFox It seemed to be staring at her for some reason. A young freshling boy came running over and asked her if she would take the familiar as it does not seem to like him, the look it gave the boy she could understand why. It did not seem to like him one bit, she nodded yes in agreement and looked at the SpectreFox who seemed to nod his regal head in agreement. It laid down beside her as the boy ran off.
Kayndie--Of course Kayndie was wandering about with her children and a friend of one of her children. She was beginning to feel like she needed 10 hands to deal with all of them. It was exhausting! She loved it though. It seemed Dayanara and SnowLily wanted some hot cocoa and Dayeon well he couldnt stop falling down. She laughed to herself taking her eye off where she was walking for a second and what happens? She trips over a familiar! Dayeon started laughing at her really loudly which drew the attention of the other kids who stared at her wide eyed. Shutting her eyes she took a deep breath and opened her eyes spotting a lovely Blue Goblin Female not to far away. Waving her arms she said "You want this familiar? I tripped over it and I can't care for anymore, please take it!" The Goblin female said "Yes thank you, it can help me in my shop". She walked over and gently ran her hand over its magnificent head, nodded her thanks again and walked off.

Callie Mae--Wandering along the path, a little behind Pippi she looked over the cute little trinkets and such each table had to offer. A Slaugh male waved her over she told Pippi to wait a second and went over and was handed a beautiful bracelet. Thanking the Slaugh she made her way back over to Pippi to continue on their walk about the festival!
Cyndal--As usual Cyndal was where the jewerly was, she felt giddy with all the pretty bracelets and necklaces that covered this one table. She looked around for Callie and Pippi and saw them a few tables away then went back to looking for a pretty new bauble for herself. Not being able to decide she turned to leave when she felt something being slipped on her wrist. The Goblin who was tending this table decided for her. Thanking them she tilted her head in appreciation and left to join her family
Cadhla--She was getting hungry, wandering over to a food cart she ordered a hot sandwich along with a cold drink as well as hot cocoa. She figured she could drink both and be happy. Getting her order she walked over and sat down and began to eat
Su--Su felt tired, so very tired. She decided to call it a night and walked back to her dorm to rest.
Wynter--Wynter was standing next to a table when suddenly a Orange Demoness began waving her arms trying to get her attention, the next thing she knew she was the new owner of a lovely SpectreFox! This beautiful creature was intelligent, regal and seemed to like her. She was giddy always wanting one but never being able to get one she felt pure happiness. Slowly but gently rubbing it's head she thought she head it sigh in contentment. Looking around she found a cart that had beverages and got a cold bottle of water and found a small bowl . Pouring it she waited until the pretty had it's fill of water and dumped the rest out in a tree planter and put the bowl in her stocking. Asking it to follow her she began to walk towards the food area.
Croi--Now Croi was beginning to feel happy, the weather was chilly, the atmosphere was filled with excitement and the air smelled of delicious seasonal scents. Everywhere she turned was a game, trinkets, food or something to keep you having fun. Deciding it was time for some hot food and drink she saw a small booth that had a small line and walked over. Suddenly she heard a small squeak and looked down but did not see anything, then she heard it again. There off to the side of the booth was a small familiar and it looked sick. She gently picked it up and saw it seemed okay perhaps just hungry? She waited her turn and placed a order for herself and her new friend. Placing the familiar on her shoulder she took the tray and headed to a table. The familiar climbed down and waited, Croi handed it a small piece of cheese and some greens. It happily ate and Croi gave it some fresh water from her bottle.
Luma sat on a bench taking a load off. She put her large stocking of loot next to her and looked from Cocoa to Lyre to Pepper. She hopped everything would go well when she returned home and introduced the group to Numa. Luckily Luma had a large room with plenty of space for everyone to keep to themselves should they want to.
Cecelia sat on the ground, careful not the mess up her dress. Between her violin, the plushie, the book, and her bag, she was running out of arm room and energy. She opened up her shoulder bag and tried her best to make more room.
Winter looked up upon hearing voices, only to notice there were now two freshlings at the other end of the table, both starring at her. One not seeming as interested but the other quite fixated. Winter's wings fluttered with embarrassment. She glanced under the table where her spectrefox Jack had climbed down to, only to see him starring back with extreme dissatisfaction as he was being used as a pillow by two fluffy creatures. Realizing there was nowhere to hide presently, she turned her attention back to the ones eyeing her. She waved not really knowing what to say. "Hello....my name is Winter". "You have a lot of plushes" she noted seeing all the random plushes sticking out from their stockings.

Reece was stoked. She had been waiting all year for the winter fair. On her way in she managed to snag one of the complimentary "Indoor Snowball Fight" buckets. This was going to be fun! She eyed the crowd for her first target, but before she could lock on she got nailed in the head by enemy ammunition.
Lilly rolled her eyes before linking arms with the other. ”Come on, let’s go look at the other tables!” she chirped before dragging her dormmate unwillingly across the room… to another table. This one had a red bracelet on it. Lilly was determined to get one of every color before the night was over.
”Why aren’t you getting anything else than the books?” she asked, forgetting about the jellyfish plushy blatantly on the others head. It truly did baffle her that someone could like books so much. Lilly hated books! Unless there were pictures in them, of course. But then, she just liked looking at the pictures.
Birkita gave her dormmate an annoyed look. What business of hers was it to judge her over what she’d rather get from this event? Shrugging off Lilly’s grip on her arm, she looked over the variety of stuff on this table. Guide to Dark Alchemy sounded very appealing right now, given her current company and mood. Picking up the book, she spotted the exasperated look of Lilly’s from the corner of her eye.
Pouting, the two tone geist sighed and looked over the assortment of plushies on display. The blue fox plushie matched her current plushie pal… perhaps she’ll get that one. Grabbing it, she gave Lilly a stubborn look. ”Fine. Happy?” she asked in a low voice.
The familiar voice caught him off guard and, spinning around, he saw Anaiise approaching him. Their new mayor. His childhood inspiration. She was still the one he looked up to the most, in fact; she had accomplished so much and gained the love of Rosebud. It was hard not to be in awe. He was rather proud to have known her ever since they were young freshlings. Probably even as infants, though he wouldn’t be able to recall such a fact.
A grin on his face, he opened his mouth to speak… when a rather angry Flutterbug came charging his way. Agave let out a noise and hid behind his neck and he quickly reached out to gently stop the familiar. The little guy was obvious annoyed about something. And, if his direction had been any indication, it was at the coatl. ”C’mon, little guy. It’s the holidays. Why don’t you spend time with me and settle your differences after the festivals?” he asked, breaking off a piece of cookie to feed to the flutterbug. The flutterbug reluctantly feasted on the cookie, eyes still glued to the cowering coatl.
Finally, he turned his eyes back to the mayor and gave a sheepish grin. ”I don’t think I’m surprised to see you here at all, Mayor,” he said bashfully, rubbing the back of his head. The coatl dodged the action, still cowering from the much smaller flutterbug. ”Are you enjoying yourself, mayor?” His voice was still rather shy and unsure. Sure, he had known Anaiise for quite a long time. But she was the mayor now. He had to be respectful.
Kean had been a bit upset when the vespercat had taken his sister's cookie and eaten it before she could. He was about to yell at it, when Qilanna calmed him down, and he felt a little less upset.
Only a little though.
That was cookie #3 that had been stolen by some creatures! Maybe instead of the cookies being blessed, they were actually cursed? He wasn't sure if he wanted to know. He sighed, counting down from 10, hoping that he would feel better about it. Once he finally reached one though, he still felt a bit bad. Better, but still bad, thinking his sister might be missing her cookie. That was when he noticed that the vespercat had curled itself around her shoulders and she was smiling at him, asking him what they were going to next. He blinked in surprise, but was happy that she wasn't sad! But, he wasn't sure what to do next! He had gotten all of the trinkets that he had wanted, and had put them in his room, and the only ones left that he really didn't care for that would be okay were the... books. He frowned a bit at them, but already his sister was wandering over to the table, swinging her tail lazily behind her as she made her way over. Kean followed but was still pouting a bit.
She seemed to be looking a bit intensely at the books, and Kean wondered what she was wanting to get. Right then, she picked up one of the books, and turned around towards him, holding it out. Kean frowned, but his sister said something about it being nice for a book, that he would like it, and some other stuff he wasn't paying attention to. He sighed, but took the book and put it in his stocking, giving his sister a thanks, even if he didn't really like it. Though he at least respected her, so if she thought it would be good for him, he would try it.

Talia felt herself blushing, or at least her face growing darker, as she realized that she had been staring. "Hi Winter! Uh, sorry for staring. I'm Talia!" Well, this didn't seem to be too bad of a reaction! Though Talia made sure not to stare anymore at Winter. When Winter mentioned their plushes, Talia looked at her bag, and then back at Winter and smiled. "Thanks! Though I probably have more than I need." Two would have sufficed. "But they are pretty cute!" She looked under the table, seeing that her two fennekits had decided that the spectrefox would make a nice pillow. "Wow! Cool spectrefox! He's so big!" Which is one of the reasons why she had not chosen one of the bigger ones. She felt she was just too small for one! But she admired Winter's bravery in taking a spectrefox.

Lailah by the time Talia had started to talk again, Lailah was looking in pretty much every other direction besides Winter, still fascinated by all that was going on. She turned back to Winter and gave her a dreamy smile. "I'm Lailah. Your wings look wonderful." She said, nodding at them. "I also have a lot of plushies, though I should probably only keep one." It was a good observation that Winter had made in Lailah's mind. It was always good to be aware of one's surroundings. Advice she should probably follow more often.
"I'm so glad we got to sit down somewhere." Lailah said to nobody in particular. She often mumbled things to herself. She took a small sip of her hot cocoa, happy that it was now just the right temperature.

Lady Angel Heart
Qilanna had tried to calm Kean down, and it looked like it had worked, at least a bit. But he seemed to be confused on what he wanted to do next. He had probably been everywhere that he had wanted, and didn't want to repeat it, but the trinket table caught her eye and she wandered over to it. She wasn't worried about her brother getting lost, after all they both lived at this school, it was highly unlikely that any kidnappings would occur. And Kean seemed to find his way over to her no matter what.
She had been looking around the table for a bit, wondering what she could possibly get, when she spotted the stacks of books. If she knew her brother, and she did, he hadn't taken any even if he had plenty of chances to get one. She quietly looked at them, trying to figure out which one would be the best for him, until she picked out the Goblet of Secrets. She giggled, he would like this one, eventually if he ever opened it. Kean was right by her side, and she turned towards him and held the book out. "Kean, you should take this. Books can get expensive and it's good for you! You'll love it too! I know I did! You have to have something to read when you have some downtime!" She said, encouraging her little brother. He made a face, but still took the book, and even said 'thank you'. She smiled back at him and replied "You're welcome!" And with that, she scanned the area again to see what might catch her eye, which was the familiar vendor. She walked up to it, holding Kean's hand to keep a better eye on him, and slowly looked at what they had. She thought it was a bit silly that they would just be giving out familiars too whomever, but then again, she was lucky that their school let them have any of these familiars. The torti's caught her eye the most but... this vespercat was already with her, and if she wanted to get a torti she would need a lot more space. She sighed, and started to walk away from the table, Kean staying with her as she lightly held his hand. A torti will have to come some other time.
While the three of them were talking, someone came over to Syblia. They were offered a cookie in the shape of a chalice. With a smile, they thanked the person and took the blessed treat with wide eyes. Erwyna could see them debating eating the sweet but before they could a coatl wound its way up to their shoulders, tongue flickering out to taste the bright icing adorning their prize. The blue hybrid blinked, turning their head to peer at the vine wrapped reptile a moment before grinning widely.
As Syblia became acquainted with their new treat tasting friend, the rest of the family were given small bags of red and green mint candies by a kindly nightmare with a basket full. It seemed they were walking around, handing the bags out to anyone that didn't have one yet. They even missed out on a festively dressed daydream handing out various plushies, though they weren't alone as Ashford ran off before they could get to him. Erywna selected a blue fox with snowflakes about it, Eli took a silver and blue nezubat. Aleanette grabbed a giant tan and white vesper cat, which she promptly gave to her bunyip who immediately took the thing in its jaws and carried it about with pride. And finally Veles grabbed a purple fennekit which she was sure he was planning on giving his little girlfriend Alyssum.
