Age: 16 Gender: Female Physical DescriptionHair: Soft rich brown hair with shortish shaggyish bangs and side locks while two thick braids make up the back portion of her hair. (Due to lack of good hygiene her usually soft hair is kinda grummy and wiry...) Eyes: A soft deep brown (Her eyes are a bit stronger and less shy then they were before Day Zero. But, they are still pretty gentle and soft most of the time.) Skin: A Ivory Beige. (A bit grimy and slightly darker looking from not bathing) Height: 5'3 Outfit Color Pallet/Style: Ellie typically wears Autumnal colors such as oranges, browns, reds, blacks, and occasionally green. Her typical style is elegant proper style clothes such as spat style boots, vests, dress shirts, etc. She does secretly love Steampunk style and general Victorian as well. References: Typical Appearance (Note: The silver dangle on her vest is lost, her shirt is tucked it at the bottom revealing the orange buttons, her bust size is actually a medium B so a bit smaller then the image, her two hairclips are actually a autumn orangey bronze, the heel on her boots are much lower, her clothes are dirtier, and all the black parts of the outfit are actually a autumnal brown.) Personality: Painfully Shy, Brave, Loyal, Lonely at times, Kind, and Generous Ellie has, since Day Zero, become a tiny bit less painfully shy. It happened out of necessity more then anything. She is however, still quite shy. Despite the encouraged buddy system, she'll usually go off on her own. She's become a lot more agile and physically apt over the past month. But, she's every bit the bookworm that she was before. In fact, she may be even more attached to books because they've become a source of comfort and security to her. Ellie has learned to speak a little louder, plus she doesn't stutter and stumble over her words as much. She's still pretty bad though... And despite her forced social interaction, she's still pretty socially awkward...

.: First Scavenging Results :. Feeling rejuvenated by the news, Ellie leaves the Mall with a slight spring to her step. Atop her head were a pare of Minnie Mouse ears with the bow removed, and around her neck, hanging like a necklace, was a pare of cheap plastic Steampunk style goggles. It was hard to call this a costume really, but she liked her usual, albeit, smelly clothes. Before she got to the rougher part of the city, she hummed a happy Disney tune. However, upon reaching dangerous territory, she immediately stops and becomes alert! Sticking to the shadows, the shy brown hair girl crept from store to store looking for something, anything, to eat and drink. Ellie had become surprisingly good at being stealthy over the past month. She had to be, her petite size and lack of physical prowess meant she wouldn't go toe to toe with most things... So sneaking was the way to go! Finally, she stumbles upon a abandoned Wendy's. After making sure there weren't any infected or undying, she slowly creeps in. Unfortunately... It looked as if this Wendy's had been raided before... All she found was a bottle of water in the fridge and a moldy looking potato in a bin in the back... Still... She had a working kitchen... She might yet be able to save the potato. And the water was a major plus! While initially disappointed, Ellie couldn't help but smile over her finds as she crept back to the Mall. It was something! Which was better then nothing. Every little thing could and would help, she just had to stay positive and strong!

.: Second Scavenging Results :. With her home cleaned up, barricaded, and furbished, Ellie felt it was time for another scavenging. She was pretty tired from all the work, but she was pretty hungry too... She didn't have breakfast that day after all... Finally, a rumble of her stomach decided it for her. Plus, the thrill of having a personal base reinvigorated her a bit! And so, after grabbing her red messenger bag, she sets off in search of more supplies! This time she decided to stay in the mall. The food court would naturally be the best place to get food; at least one would think so... She was too low rank to get meal from there, and most of the restaurants were occupied... Luckily, she found one that wasn't! Some Italian restaurant from the looks of it. In the back she found some stale cookies and a very stale, crusty, loaf of sour dough bread... Well, food was food... At least she found a bottle of water tucked in the fridge! With her belly at least moderately filled and the bottle of water in hand, Ellie returns back to her base. She was ready for some sleep... After putting the bottle of water away in her fridge and dropping off her bag in her treasure room, she changes into a unstinky nightgown she'd been hoarding and piles into bed. Tomarrow was another day!

.: Third Scavenging Results :. As the alarm of wind up alarm clock she grabbed suddenly begins blaring, Ellie stirs slowly into wakefulness. "Mmm... Morning already...?" she mumbles sleepily to herself before reaching out and stopping the alarm. Once the sound quit echoing off the walls of her base, she curls up in a ball under the covers and just lies there... She didn't want to get up... She was a bit sore from all the work she did yesterday; plus she had the best sleep she'd had in a month... Still... She couldn't just lie in bed all day... Finally, with a reluctant sigh, she straightens out and uncovers herself. She had things to do. After a bit of stretching to get the soreness out, she gets up and heads for her dressing room. Inside was a few big boxes where she kept her spare clothes. Tucked in the corner was a vanity and she built the day before. It was simple yet it worked. After sitting down and checking her gummy hair, she gets out her hygiene kit and gets to work. It didn't take long to push out her hair and rebraid it. And nor did it take long to slap on some deodorant and body spray. However, when it came to changing out of her nightgown... That took a bit... Not because it was hard to get out of, but because it was clean and didn't stink... Still, she didn't want it to get stinky. And so, after enjoying the soft clean fabric a bit longer, she finally slips out of it and into her grimy default outfit. She did have other things, but she loved her usual clothes... Plus, she was reluctant to get her reserves dirty... After getting everything on, -- And spraying down the dirty clothes with body spray -- she slips her 'costume' on and grabs her red messenger bag before grabbing her keys and locking up. She was tempted to put the security gate down, but figured the dead bolt locks should be enough. Finally, after given the door a good shove to make sure it was sturdy, she tucks her key away in her breast pocket and heads off. It had become quickly apparent that scavenging inside the mall was far more fruitful then going outside the mall. It was also safer. That's why the shy, brown haired girl beelined straight for the food court. The morning breakfast rush was still on, but it didn't hinder her from getting into that forgotten italian restaurant again. Inside, she found more stale bread and cookies. It wasn't the best breakfast, but it would have to do... She also found two more bottles of water! One she emptied into her canteen. The other she wasn't sure about... Should she take it? Did she really need it? Eventually, she decides to take the extra bottle so that she could trade it to someone who really needed it. Finally, with her belly at least moderately filled and her canteen refilled, Ellie was ready to start the day!

.: Fourth Scavenging Results :. With her new potpourri mask made, Ellie decided to go and try it out! You could never scavenge enough she found. With mask in place, she grabs her red messenger bag and heads out. Back she went to the italian restaurant, but to her dismay it seemed like others had found out about it too! All the cookies and bread were gone... And there was only one small bottle of water left... Sighing, she empties the small bottle of water into her canteen. She was just about to leave, when something caught her eye. The drawer on the cash register was just the slightest bit open... Curiosity took hold and had her creeping over to it. She fulled expected it to be empty, but as she gently pulls the drawer open, her eyes widen in shock! It was full of money!! Somehow, it had escaped the ransacking! Now Ellie wasn't greedy by any means, and this was proven by the fact that she only took a reasonably sized stack of money. Yes, she took most the big bills, but who was really going to need it? Plus, she did leave some big bills behind and left all the smaller ones for anybody else looking for some cash. She didn't know what she'd use the money for, but she couldn't help but grin behind her mask as she left the restaurant. She hadn't found food, but she'd found something that was possibly equally important! Hm... She was hungry though... Maybe she should use that potato before it molded further...

.: Fifth Scavenging Results :. On her way back, despite her aching arm, Ellie decides to do a bit of scavenging. She was already out here, why not? It didn't take her long to find what looked like a small defunked general store. Oh wait, was this a Dollar Tree? Or maybe a Dollar General... All she could see was a badly damaged sign that maybe said dollar. Either way, she was hopeful she might find something good inside. The entrance was mostly blocked by rubble and trash, but due to her smaller size she was able to get inside. Creeping in carefully so not to make any noises, Ellie stays alert and vigilant. You never knew where the Infected or Undying would show up... As she glanced around the large room and stepped over fallen shelves, she notices the shelves were predictably bare... But... Maybe there was something in the back? Chances were nobody had thought to look back there in the rush. Nodding silently to herself as she decides to check the store room, Ellie carefully makes her way there. Luckily the door wasn't locked, but that was also worrisome... What if someone raided the back already... Finally, she takes a breath and slowly opens the door. However, as she does, her eyes begin to sparkle at what she sees! The storeroom was untouched! There was food and cheaply made items everywhere! Most of the perishable food had long since perished, but all the canned goods seemed to be intact! Delighted by her find, the shy, brown haired girl bounces on her feet slightly while clapping happily a bit. She didn't want to celebrate too loudly... The clothes and toys weren't worth much, not even as much as her goggles. The stationary and books were trash compared to what she had at her store, and all the other things she couldn't see a reason to take with her. Eventually, she sorted through what she wanted and tucked it away in her bag. She grabbed: A two cans of soup, a jar of strawberry jelly, and a bottle of water to refill her Canteen with. She didn't want to take too much at once; though she was tempted to bring some of the food back to the mall. Finally, she decided to leave and was on her way out when a large bag of sorted candy caught her eye... Most of it was probably stale... But it could be really useful in a fix... Reluctant at first, she soon gives in and pops the bag of candy in her bag. Now she was on her way out! It took a while to get out due to all the rubble and her now bitterly complaining arm... Once she got outside, she found it was dark and the distant groans of Infected reached her ears... It was time to go home...

.: My Life Since Day Zero :. Once Ellie got back to her Book Fort in the mall, she puts her finds away and grabs some good stationary. She was going to take the Bandit's advice and write down what had happened to her since Day Zero. After eating one of the best meals she'd had in a while, Ellie changes into her nightgown and settles in on her bed with paper and pencil in hand. It was going to be a long and painful night... Still, it was important to do this. Glancing briefly at her sore arm, she takes a breath and begins to write. Dear Reader.
I'm Eleanor Tremlett, most commonly known as Ellie Trem. I am one of the survivors from Day Zero. It has been a hard month and two days for me and everybody else... The first half of the month was spent just trying to survive in the mall. By the halfway point however we all had it down to a science. Stay alert, walk softly, and stick to the shadows. -- But not too closely, Undying hide there too. -- Listen for the telltale groan of Infected, help each other out, and just live.
It's rough... A lot of comforts we take for granted are gone... Such as-bathing, having plenty of food to eat, knowing you can sleep safely, etc. But we've had to make due here in the Mall. I don't know how the other Factions are doing. Oh, that's right! The survivors of Day Zero split into four different Factions. Here at the Mall we're called the Mall Rats. Recently, news of help arriving in seven days is going around! I even heard for myself just today at the radio station! This has renewed everybody's hope! Also, here at the mall, we got the janitor's keys and have been able to use most of the stores! I now have a home-a Barnes and Noble me and a few others secured. Things are getting better, and hopefully this will all end in seven days.
I don't think there is any real secret to surviving all this... You just have to work hard and not give up.
Cordially Yours, Ellie. Once she finally finished the log like journal, her arm hurt quite a bit. But, as she lifts the page up to the light of the small desk lamp, she couldn't help but smile at it. Hopefully the Bandit's would be as satisfied with it as she was. Sighing happily, she lays the paper and pencil down next to her bed and clicks off the light. Tomorrow was another day.

.: Sixth Scavenging Results :. Once morning came, the alarm clock by Ellie's 'bed' announced it's arrival. The loud ringing echoed through the large store and woke her up out of a sound sleep. "Mmm..." she mumbles sleepily as she reaches over to turn off the clock. Because she was so drowsy still, it hadn't yet occurred to her that she reached out with her Right hand... Finally, she pushes the covers back and stretches. It was then, as she felt only a bit of soreness in her arm, that she realizes something... Her arm was almost fully healed up! Blinking drowsily in confusion, she pulls her arm close and after removing the splint she gently feels her arm. It was... fine! The break was gone! But... How...? Last time she broke her arm it was in a cast for six weeks! But this time it hadn't even been a day! Confused yet happy none the less, Ellie finally gets out of bed with a bit of a spring to her step! Today was going to be a exciting day! She wasn't a Bargain Binner any more, she was a Discount Racker! That meant she finally got to get her own full costume! She loved her default outfit she really did... But, it was getting so smelly and worn it was time to retire it... In fact, instead of dressing in her typical outfit, she throws on a regular shirt and shorts before stepping into a pare of flipflops. Once dressed, she quickly grabs the keys and takes out! She didn't even grab her bag because she knew she'd be coming back! To the Arcade she went, and after showing her ten tokens as proof of ranking up, she was led into the back where the Costumes were. There must have been hundreds of them! She simply stood there in awe for a moment before she heard a impatient throw clearing sound. Nodding back at the clerk, she figuratively dives into the myriad of costumes! She had a specific type of outfit in mind and was delighted when she stumbled upon the brown and red female Steampunk Outfit! Clapping happily to herself, she smiles cheerfully at the costume before grabbing the one in her size! However, upon feeling the material and noticing how... filimsy it was... She frowns a bit... It also was pretty thin material... She'd just have to wear dark undergarments... Well, there was a reason this was the discount rack... Either way, she had the outfit she wanted and happily leaves the Arcade with it! Cheaply made or not, it was her's and would represent her. One thing to know is, shortly after the Infected attacked on Day Zero, All the employees of the Barnes and Noble -- Her included -- Led a raid on the clothing stores! That's why she had so many spare clothes. She also had grabbed every color of the boots and socks she loved that she could find... That meant that, despite the outfit not coming with shoes, she had it covered! Once she got back to her Book Fort, she changes into clean black undergarments, brushes and rebraids her hair, deodorizes, body sprays, and gets dressed in her new Costume! The cheap goggles and mouse ears were retired to her treasure pile. Unfortunately, as she looked herself over in the mirror, she realizes something was missing... Oh! A hat! She didn't have a hat! Fortunately, that was a easy enough thing to solve! Quickly, she goes over to a large stuffed bear in the kids area and carefully removes it's surprisingly fancy hat! This must have been a expensive toy... With the hat added on, her outfit was perfect! Smiling happily, Ellie grabs her bag, and after grabbing her log and locking the door, she heads off to get some breakfast. Having a full costume, even a cheap one, did bend eyes towards you... Ellie loved her new costume, but she didn't quite love all the attention it got her... Still, it earned her a stale roll, cup of juice, and ego waffle for breakfast! And better yet, she found a bottle of water too! Finally, with her belly fuller then it had been in weeks, Ellie leaves the mall with a light spring in her step as she heads for Zone One to deliver her log!
